Second Chances

Chapter 48

Notes:

For now, this will be the last chapter in the story.

I will most likely come back later and add more.

I love these characters and I think they deserve all sorts of adventures.

Chapter Text

Location: Yautja Prime

“Mother, another delegation is here,” the little girl said, peeking out the front door at the strangers. Her twin, always a bit shy, watched from behind the potted plant in the corner.

Meezu sighed, then slowly got up from the couch, holding her oversized belly. She was saddened by the fact that they’d used up all of her preserved eggs, but she was also relieved to be on her last pregnancy. She began to waddle toward the front door as Rissh’maua came from the back of the house. He’d just put the toddlers down for a nap.

“What is it, my mate?”

“Looks like another breeding delegation,” Meezu sighed.

Rissh’maua snarled. When would they give up? He only wanted to rut his own mate!

Catching his mood, Meezu quickly tried to calm her mate. He was normally kind and loving, but his temper could often resemble the tsunami he was named after.

“Beloved, it’s not their fault. Females are in short supply on Yautja Prime. Once everyone found out you make nothing but female pups, you were in high demand,” Meezu chuckled.

Their twins, Kyra’shah(Dark Moon) and Rho’esh(Fierce Heart) were now five years old. The newest pups, Tempess’mar(Ocean Storm a.k.a. Hurricane) and Arissh’ka’sur(Pounding Waves) were three years old, and Meezu was expecting two more any day now, both girls. Their family had grown considerably thanks to Meezu’s penchant for twins.

“I don’t want to rut anyone but you,” Rissh growled. “I chose you as my mate. Besides, no one wanted me before because of my height,” he sulked, crossing his arms over his chest. “Now, everyone wants me. Fuck them!” he snarled.

“I think that’s what they want, love,” Meezu giggled.

“Well, they can’t have me,” he pouted.

“Oh, come on,” Meezu whispered softly. She stroked her fingers down her mate’s arm, trying to soothe him. “The Yautja need more females. Do it to help your race. Please.”

“You WANT me to rut other females?” he asked incredulously, throwing his hands in the air.

“It doesn’t bother me, love. If it will help your race, then it’s important. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to, but I’m all right with it. Well, as long as you don’t run off with the new female,” she added.

She stared down at her massive belly, rubbing a hand across the rounded surface. “I’m not exactly sexy right now, so please don’t leave me for another woman.”

Rissh wrapped Meezu in his arms, one hand stroking across her belly. “You are as beautiful as a goddess when you are with pup,” he purred in her ear.

“Flattery will get you everywhere,” she chuckled. “Maybe once the delegation leaves, you and I can spend some time together. These pups are late, so maybe a little sex will get my labor started.”

“I will be happy to help,” he grinned.

“All right then, go outside and talk to this delegation. Please take this seriously. The future of your species may hinge upon your willingness to mate.”

Rissh’maua sighed heavily, then nodded his head. “I will see if the female is acceptable.” He rubbed his cheek against Meezu’s cheek, then went outside to deal with the delegation.

Nezh and Billy entered the room as Meezu began to waddle slowly back toward the couch. Rho’esh, her more outgoing child, dashed over to help her mother and pepper her with questions.

“Is daddy gonna have babies with that lady?” she asked, bouncing up and down on the couch excitedly. “I don’t like this. Daddy is your mate,” she grumbled.

Her shy, soft-spoken twin, Kyra’shah, whispered, “Hush, Rho. Daddy has to help make more girls or else the Yautja are in trouble.”

Nezh nodded in understanding. “Your sire seems to make only female pups, so his help is needed. He needs to rut with many females.”

“But I don’t wanna share daddy with other kids!” Rho’esh yowled. “He’s my daddy!”

“You won’t have to share him. The mothers of those pups will raise them at their own homes,” Meezu patiently explained.

Meezu sighed and settled herself on the couch, trying to find a comfortable position. Her belly was making things uncomfortable and she was tired and her back hurt and she really didn’t feel like dealing with grumpy kids right now.

Billy sat down next to Meezu, a look of concern crossing his face. “You okay? You’re looking pretty tired there, mama.”

“I’m fine. I just want these kids to hurry up and get here. It should be any day now. I’m just so tired and achy,” she grumbled.

The ever-lively Rho’esh launched herself into Billy’s arms, then loudly proclaimed, “I’m gonna be a big sis again!”

“Yup. Sounds pretty exciting,” he grinned. “Are you gonna be a good big sister?”

“Nope! I’m gonna be a GREAT big sister! The best!”

A child with a reptilian tail dashed through the room as if his tail was on fire. The boy waved a small spear over his head and whooped like some sort of barbarian.

A naked, snarling Grimm’ka’varr barreled down the hall after the pup.

“Tohfs’aun!(Golden Tuft) Get back here you little shit! How dare you stab me while I’m rutting your mother!” Grimm bellowed.

“Daddy not paying attention. Best time to attack,” the boy tossed over his shoulder as he vaulted gracefully over the couch and its occupants. The dark blond tuft of hair running down the crest of his forehead blew back as he sped out of the room with Grimm hot on his heels.

Miriam Chandra and Tok’brutn walked into the room, both laughing at Grimm and Tohfs’ antics.

“It’s a good thing the pups are all heavy sleepers,” Meezu sighed. “I might have to kill Grimm if he wakes them up.”

Nezh turned to Billy and said, “And this is why we don’t need to adopt children. The whole clan house is full of them. The noise is unbearable,” the albino grumbled.

“Um, guys, I think my water just broke.”

Notes:

The naming system I used is read from left to right, but the meaning is reversed. Meezu’ka’siff translated from left to right is Water(meezu) Falling (ka’siff), but means Falling Water. The “ka” changes “fall” to “falling”. Grimm’ka’varr is directly translated as Death Grinning/Smiling, but means Grinning Death. Tok’brutn is Tusk Broken, but means Broken Tusk. (Brutn means broken, brut means break)
