Chapter Text

Jungkook's life moved on, as impossible as it was to believe sometimes.

He had met Hoseok at a club, their meeting orchestrated by Jimin and Taehyung when they had dragged him along as an unwilling third-wheel to yet another of their dates. How grinding up on one another as if they didn't already do so nightly in the confines of their bedroom counted as a date, Jungkook didn't know. He didn't really want to know, if he's being completely honest.

Back on topic, he had met Hoseok through his friends and through Hoseok he had met the warlock’s friends. Friends that included a dragon that cooked like a 5-star chef and was seventy times older than Jungkook’s own age and a phoenix that was close to rivaling those years despite hosting the ability to trip over his own gangly limbs at the drop of a hat. Seokjin and Namjoon were nice, they were amazing , but they were also intimidating just from their very existence because no creature lived that long without going through some serious shit.

Then there was Yoongi.

Min fucking Yoongi.

The Ancient vampire that tossed their society on its proverbial heels and said "fuck you" to the war between werewolves and vampires that had been occurring for millennia. Jungkook had met him. The werewolf had met the creator of their modern-day peace and he was just a grumpy, short man with fluffy hair and sleepy, fox-like eyes that just wanted to use him as his own personal heating pad while they cuddled in bed. Min fucking Yoongi just watched him with eyes that held dark promises even as he shot raunchy jokes across his breakfast bar after slinging an apple abruptly into his friend's side like an immature little brat and it was- Jungkook didn't know what it was. His mind was still reeling. He was still flabbergasted and confused and a little bit turned on and sexually frustrated but he wasn't admitting that last bit. Hoseok was still incessantly texting him for details after he and Yoongi had shadow traveled away and left him to stew in his lonesome but the warlock wasn't getting any answers from him, nope.

"Hey, Jeon-" Jungkook abruptly snapped out of his thoughts, looking up at the werewolf that he knew worked commonly at the front desk of his university, usually sent to run errands or relay messages for the older staff. He was a bit dim, but his heart was in the right place.

"Yeah, Pyo?"

"Some dude's here for you, wanted to talk to your history teacher too." Hooking a thumb over his shoulder Pyo moved to the side, revealing Jungkook's surprise guest and sending Jungkook's mind into a complete tailspin.

"Yoongi?" He choked out, knowing his eyes were double in size as he choked out the vampire's name. Ripped black jeans reminiscent of the past night at the club? Check. Oversized black sweater with sleeves that fell down over the tips of the shorter man's fingers in a frankly adorable way? Check. Sleepy eyes looking at Pyo blandly, eyebrow raised in a judgmental manner? Check.

Min fucking Yoongi was at his school - in his classroom - and Jeon Jungkook was not okay.

Before the wolf could react fully at his surprising presence Yoongi's dark eyes were flicking over to the stunned boy. A fleeting smile pulled at the edges of Yoongi's lips, a flash of fangs seen fleetingly before he turned his attention to evaluating the class. There were few occupants considering there was still twenty minutes until it started, but Jungkook's teacher was there. His Ancient History teacher. The one that had assigned them a project on writing about a key figure that impacted their society in the past and had given Jungkook an 88% on his essay despite it being full of "complete and utter bullshit" as far as Yoongi was concerned. Jungkook could still see the vicious way Yoongi had bared his elongated fangs, nose scrunching up in anger and even now Jungkook felt a little messed up when the only thought that had passed through his mind was 'adorable'.

"Jungkookie, c'mere for a second." Yoongi demanded, quirking a finger pointedly.

Jungkook was up in a rush, picking up his backpack without a second thought and darting over to the shorter man. Sure, it made him seen a bit like a trained mutt but this was Min fucking Yoongi, so of course he'd listen. He wouldn't even mind if Yoongi wanted to train him anyway but that thought was inappropriate considering their surroundings and Jungkook was innocent, okay? Innocent.

Pyo Jihoon was looking down at the vampire in confusion, knowing that at best Jungkook could be considered tsundere, at worst he was just a rude fucking brat. The fact that Yoongi had him wrapped around his finger - even just a small display of it - probably set off warning bells in his fellow wolf's mind. "Uh, Jeon?"

"It's fine Pyo, I got him. You can go back to the office, yeah?"

With a slight hesitation Pyo sighed before turning on his heel and striding down the hallway. Jungkook didn't watch him go, too busy laying a careful hand on Yoongi's small shoulder and guiding him over to a slight nook where a pair of water fountains resided. Leaning down so that they could face each other eye-to-eye Jungkook started furiously whispering despite how ineffective his endeavors would be considering the many species with advanced hearing that populated his university's halls. "Yoongi-hyung, why are you here?"

The blond - wait, what? His hair had been black when Jungkook saw him two days ago - simply smirked in that annoyingly smug way of his. "Aw, are you not excited to see me? I'm hurt Jungkookie."

"Don't call me that here, oh my gods." Frantically glancing around Jungkook didn't even notice when Yoongi leaned a scant few inches closer, his pouty lips ghosting over the arch of his cheekbone. The werewolf jerked back quickly, skin tingling in shock and mouth gaping open even as he practically slapped himself with how quick he brought his palm up to his cheek.

"Relax, you have no reason to be so tense. My presence here isn't that big of a deal."

Now Jungkook was gaping for another reason because 'not a big deal'? Yoongi thinks that him being here isn't a big deal? Jungkook's heart is practically beating out of his chest and his brain may be imploding just a bit right now and Yoongi's just-

"Hyung, what the fuck? Yes it is. Do you- do you even realize how big of a legend you even are?"

"Of course, how do you think I get free drinks? My stunning good looks? Because you wouldn't be wrong with that guess, but regardless-"

"Yoongi."

His dark eyes were practically sparkling with mischievousness and Jungkook started mentally damning Jung Hoseok to hell because Jungkook couldn’t handle this.

"Jungkookie~"

The wolf in question didn't know how he hadn't passed out from all the blood rushing to his cheeks but he was just waiting for it to happen because the vampire had just whispered that in his ear and oh my gods was that his tongue? It was his tongue. Was that his fang? Nope. No. Not happening. Jungkook is Jung-fucking-shook and he doesn’t work here anymore, he quit. Thanks for calling, bye.

Yoongi's fingers snapping just before his eyes had Jungkook flinching back instinctively, wide eyes blinking rapidly as he came back to the present and shook his head rapidly like the dog he was. Taking a moment to breath deeply and evenly Jungkook straightened abruptly, forcing his expression into one of calm curiosity. "Seriously, why are you here?"

Leaning back and giving Jungkook some room the werewolf watched as Yoongi's playful expression faded away and was replaced with a stoic seriousness. Running his eyes up and down Jungkook's form, there was a ghost of a smirk that appeared at seeing Jungkook's attire - sweatpants paired with a large hoodie (no one could say Jungkook wasn't a normal college student) - before he let out a sigh and leaned back on the balls of his feet. "Your essay."

"My...essay....?"

"It's fucking ridiculous and your textbook is just as bad, I got a copy of the fucking thing so I'm here to fix some...inaccuracies...in your education."

Jungkook stared for a moment before speaking. "Does my teacher even know you're here to do that?"

"Of course not, that's why I showed up before your class started."

The wolf let out a groan, hands coming up to palm at his face in exasperation. "You- I can't believe you just...okay, okay, this is fine. Come on, we should go talk to her."

Yoongi chuckled when Jungkook spun on his heel abruptly, filled with determination to just get this over with so that he could return to his semi-normal life. That decision was ultimately stopped in it's tracks when the the hood of his jacket was abruptly tugged backwards, Yoongi's deceptively slight frame giving no hint to the strength with which he pulled Jungkook down to his level. Yoongi was skimming his lips over the Jungkook's ear once again, the smirk heavily apparent in his voice.

"By the way, it's nice to know that you'll come for me on command."

Jungkook gaped wordlessly at the wall in front of him, hearing the vampire step around his frozen form and drift back into his history class. With a low groan the werewolf sent a prayer up to a god, any god. Min fucking Yoongi was going to give him a heart attack and Jungkook doubted he would survive.

Yoongi stretched out his leg under the table, pointedly nudging the toe of his sneakers against Jungkook's Timberlands and waiting for the werewolf to morosely look up from his sundae. Smiling soothingly at the younger boy, Yoongi kept his voice at a low, soothing croon. "Don't sulk Jungkookie. Everything is fine."

"Hyung."

The vampire rolled his eyes, reaching out to tug Jungkook's hand away from where it was pulling frustratingly at his hair, lacing their fingers together and bringing their clasped hands down to the tabletop. Moving his thumb in soothing circles, Yoongi ignored how tense the werewolf across from him had gotten, the boy's spoon almost dropping out of his slack grip.

"Look Jungkook," Yoongi couldn't help the smirk that crossed his lips when he noticed how the boy straightened at his proper name, "when you live as long as I do you learn a few things. Well, you learn a lot of things, but first and foremost you learn how to not care. Despite how many species may live on this fucked up planet of ours, there's one essential fact that they all share: they're not worth it."

Yoongi paused for a moment, noting how intently Jungkook was looking at him despite his head still positioned in a downcast manner. Chuckling in amusement the vampire sent him a wry smirk. "Fuck 'em, honestly. You do you, YOLO and all that."

Jungkook gaped.

"Did you- did you just say-"

"Live la vida loca, Jungkookie. Now eat your ice cream."

"I still can't believe you just talked over her each time she tried to speak. Her face was so fucking red, hyung."

"Why isn't a vampire teaching your class anyway? Sure, your teacher's a witch but she's only been around for four centuries she's like a child-"

Jungkook stared at him, unimpressed. "Hyung, I'm fifty."

"Well, yeah. That's why I've been cackling internally every time I think of calling you baby in my head. It's both a true fact and kinda sexy, if you're into that endearment. I have others I could use though." Yoongi divulged, tightening his grip on Jungkook's hand when the werewolf cringed away with a groan of embarrassment. Tugging Jungkook's hand up to his lips, the vampire skimmed his lips along the other's knuckles, dropping his pitch to a low drawl as he watched a blush bloom on the wolf's cheeks. "I could call you my sweetheart. My lovely, my darling, my Kookie… mine."

Jungkook blinked rapidly, a beat of silence settling between them before his head snapped up, eyes locking with Yoongi's own. A thousand thoughts were swirling in those dark orbs and the vampire was curious on how long it would take to decipher them all. How much commitment it would take. The wolf was gaping again, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. Humming low in the back of his throat Yoongi set another gentle kiss on the back of Jungkook's hand before leaning back comfortably into the booth they were occupying. When they had finally departed from Jungkook’s university Yoongi could hear the boy’s stomach growling incessantly so, being the amazing person that he was, the vampire had dragged him into the closest diner. The fact that Namjoon would most definitely classify this as a date was an observation Yoongi was ignoring, but regardless.

"That's a conversation for far in the future, though. Eat your ice cream Kookie, it's melting."
