Chapter Text
Lucanis wakes and knows that it’s over.
The fire that burned through him is gone, leaving him exhausted and sore. His skin feels sticky and gross. He’s hungry. He’s thirsty. He needs to take a piss. Lucanis isn’t sure whether it was worse going into the rut or if it’s worse now coming out of it.
There’s a soothing scent that drifts around him, though: roses and starlight. It’s not as overwhelming or enticing as it was a day ago, but it’s still lovely. With that scent surrounding him, Lucanis lets himself drift, lets the scent calm him, hold him, run gentle fingers through his hair.
“I know you’re awake,” Rin says.
Lucanis almost doesn’t want to respond, if only so that he can stay there, surrounded by the lovely peace and calm for a little longer, but he at least blinks his eyes open since he’s been caught. He finds that he’s nestled against Rin, molded to her side and practically on top of her. His face is pressed into her neck.
She laughs, softly. “Your eyelashes tickle.”
He takes one more deep breath of peace and happiness, enjoying how the warmth of the scent seems to fill him while he’s still in a sleepy limbo between rut and reality. Rin doesn’t prompt him again as he does it, only turning her head so she can press her lips to his forehead in a gentle kiss and continuing to run her fingers through his hair.
Then, Lucanis peels himself away.
Literally. Their skin sticks together. It’s gross.
Rin laughs again as Lucanis pulls away, more so as he sits up and looks around at the mess he’s made of both of them and cringes.
“…I think I should’ve joined you for that bath,” Lucanis says.
“I tried to get you to come in,” Rin says around her giggles. “You were adamant about guard duty, though.”
“You could’ve done the—uh—the voice.”
“I did.”
Lucanis sighs heavily, which only makes her laugh more. Rin shifts on the bedding, and then suddenly she presses her cheek against his shoulder.
“You remember most of it, though?” She asks.
“Should I not?”
“You should,” she clarifies. “It’s bad if you don’t. Means the rut was too intense.”
It certainly felt ‘too intense’ at times, but Lucanis has no trouble remembering most of what they did. Some of those memories are very vivid, and very…intriguing.
Lucanis flushes, propping up one leg to hide his hardening dick from Rin’s view. Unfortunately, the pillows are too far away for him to grab, and his clothes are nowhere in sight.
How it still has the energy to be interested is beyond him.
“I suppose it wasn’t too intense, then,” he says.
“Did you enjoy yourself?”
“I…y-I suppose—yes, I think so.” Why must she ask questions that make him think about how much sex they just had?
Rin pulls away from him, and Lucanis can’t help but look as she moves. (Though, he’s very careful to only look at her face.) She levels him with a concerned gaze, but she can’t quite hide her joking smile.
“You think so?”
Lucanis takes a breath, looking around at the room again. There are a few suspicious stains in the bedding (which he remembers changing, twice), two on the couch, one on the glass of the fish tank, and Rin’s neck, breasts, and thighs are absolutely covered in hickeys.
“The evidence would suggest so.”
Rin laughs again. “Good. Then, you have something to look forward to next time.”
“Right. Mierda. This is going to be…common, now.”
She leans forward to kiss his shoulder before crawling away towards their food tray. “Are you hungry? I think we have some grapes left.”
Lucanis has to look away. There’s semen (his semen) dripping from her cunt and running down her leg.
“Ah—no, you can have them. I’m—I’ll make something once I find my pants.”
Said pants are finally found folded neatly on a table nearby. Lucanis stops short of putting them on when he finds something in the front pocket: a pair of not-his-smallclothes.
Lucanis braces his hands against the table, pants in one hand, not-his-smallclothes in the other and hangs his head. What the hell was he thinking?
“You thought the panties smelled nice,” Spite supplies.
“Si, thank you. It was rhetorical. I remember,” he mutters back.
“Remember what?” Rin asks.
Lucanis jumps. He shoves the not-his-smallclothes back in his pants pocket and spins around. At the last minute, he thinks to cover himself with his hands before realizing that Rook isn’t even looking in his direction.
“Ah, nothing,” Lucanis says. “Spite just—he was talking nonsense again.”
“Not fair!” Spite shouts at him. “Always blaming me! But I helped! We were a good alpha!”
Ah yes, Spite’s participation in the rut. Another thing for Lucanis to avoid thinking too hard about.
He turns around again, pulling on his pants, but he frowns to himself.
The rut is over but he still feels strange. There’s not a fire burning through him. There’s no haze over his thoughts. Part of it is surely embarrassment, but the rest of it…
“Did you…enjoy yourself, as well?” Lucanis asks.
“…oh yes, you were very attentive,” Rin says.
She hesitated.
“Really?”
“Mhm. Very sweet. One of the easiest alphas I’ve ever spent a rut with, honestly.”
It doesn’t sound like anything is wrong, but she’s rather good at hiding her feelings from him, isn’t she? Wasn’t that what he realized, just before all of this started?
“Held our hand, but not our gaze.”
The bedding rustles as Rin crosses the room to him. She puts an elfroot potion down on the table.
“Here,” she says behind him. “Should help with the bruising. I’ve got some elfroot paste for the deeper scratches on your back, too. Which—sorry, for those.”
“Tried to hide how her smile fell.”
She laughs to herself like everything is fine and gently begins to smear the paste on Lucanis’s back. It has a strong smell—minty-ish—but hidden underneath it, there’s something familiar. He knows that smell. He’s been on alert for it for the past few days. It disappeared at some point, but now it’s here again:
The smell of withering.
Once more, Lucanis turns, interrupting Rin’s work. She gives him a lopsided smile.
“I can’t apply the paste if you’re facing me,” she says.
“Why do you still smell like that?” He asks.
Rin pauses. “…Like what?”
“Rin.”
She gives him a tight smile and puts the jar of paste down on the table. “It’s nothing for you to worry about. Why don’t you take the paste with you? It’ll come in handy later.”
“She knocks at the door, begging you to let her in.”
She turns. She starts to walk away, but Lucanis follows her and catches her wrist.
He’s not in rut anymore. It’s not his job to care for her, it’s not his right to pry, but he knows what it means for her to smell like decay. He knows that it’s his fault. He spent all of that time trying to prune the withered roses so that fresh ones could bloom, but still—
“Did I…Should I have done more?” he asks. “Should I have done something different?”
Rin’s shoulders drop. She doesn’t turn to face him. “Lucanis. Don’t…it’s fine, I promise.”
“But she won’t do the same for you.”
“What can I do?”
She does look at him, then. She smells like rain threatening to fall over a forest. She looks like she’s already cried all of her tears. She takes her arm back and walks past him to find her own clothes.
“Please,” Lucanis begs her. “I never wanted to hurt you. I…If there’s anything I can do…”
She ignores him as she pulls on her shirt. Maybe he deserves it. Keeping her out of his mess was the whole reason why he broke things off in the first place. And now…
“I’m sorry I made such a mess of things—”
“Easier that way. You would know.”
Rin turns, suddenly.
“You didn’t, though,” she says. She takes a breath. “You made a decision. A good one. I’m not sure I would’ve been able to think about a having a relationship either if it was Minrathous that fell, and…the rest of it isn’t your fault.”
“But—”
“You were there. You asked her to follow.”
“But nothing. They’re my feelings to deal with. And they won’t compromise the mission or our friendship, so there’s really nothing for you to worry about.”
Lucanis frowns. Is this what she’s been telling herself? This whole time?
“We should get dressed—”
Lucanis puts a gentle hand on her hip to stop her from turning again.
“Lucanis—”
He steps in closer, until they’re barely a foot apart from each other.
“Stop—stop looking at me like that.”
He doesn’t.
“I’m sorry,” he says. “We should’ve talked about it, properly.”
“You hoped she would come. You trusted that she would.”
Rin crosses her arms, still smelling like withering and the threat of rain, still looking like she’s already spent the day crying. “What was there to talk about? It was a couple of conversations by the fire, a couple of books in the library. We weren’t doing anything.”
“You don’t believe that,” Lucanis says. He wipes a tear that’s not there from her cheek. His frown only deepens as Rin leans toward his touch for just a moment before forcing herself to turn away from it.
“What do you want me to say, then?” She asks.
Lucanis doesn’t have an answer. Maybe he should, but this isn’t something he knows how to do. All of the training he’s received about love and romance covered how to seduce a target and use them to your advantage, not what to do when you fall, too.
…Is he? Falling for her? Has he been?
“But in the end, she did not.”
Rin puts a hand on his chest, over his heart, gently trying to push him away. “Tell me you don’t think about it. Tell me you’re not reminded that I picked Minrathous over Treviso every time you look at me.”
“She did not choose us.”
Oh.
“Yeah. That’s what I thought.” Rin pushes past him again and starts gathering the bedding for the laundry. He lets her.
It wasn’t so long ago that Ghilan’nain’s dragons rained blight and terror over Minrathous and Treviso. Lucanis only returned from the more intensive relief efforts a month ago. They’re still going on, but the team needed him here. Rin needed him here, and Lucanis…
Maybe she stopped waiting for him by the fire, but he stopped checking to see if she was there. Maybe she stopped reaching for his hands, but he stopped sitting within reach. It’s not her fault that she ran to protect her home, but now he hardly has one, and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t think about that every time Rin talks about the Shadow Dragons or stopping by Dock Town. He’d be lying if he said it didn’t matter.
“So, that’s it?” He asks.
“That has been it,” she answers. “You said you were done a while ago.” Rin pauses. There’s a new scent: rain starting to pour over an ocean. She’s crying. “I’m just having trouble catching up.”
“I’ll get over it, though.” She sniffles. She takes a breath. “I’ll be fine.”
The bedding rustles behind Lucanis as Rin throws it into a pile. She starts collecting the plates and cups and food trays next. Instinct wants him to take them from her so that she may rest, but logic knows she’s just trying to find something to do, trying to look busy so that he’ll leave her alone.
So, Lucanis takes the rest of his clothes in one hand, his boots in the other and makes for the door.
That’s it, then.
“Coward.”
Lucanis pauses with his hand on the door handle. The insult doesn’t sting like it should, if it even is an insult at this point. It feels more like Spite is just pointing out the obvious, but what is he supposed to do? He’s done everything he can think of, and his new instincts have already tried everything they know. None of it worked. What was roses and starlight is now salty rain and decay. Every word he spoke only made it worse. So, what more is he supposed to say? What more is he supposed to do?
“Try.”
The memories that come to mind are both his and not his. The images and the words are covered by a haze, but scents and the feelings are so clear:
Lucanis finds Rin by the fireplace in the kitchen. It’s late. She smells like rose petals blowing away in a breeze—surprised and anxious to see him. Lucanis smells like bread crisping in the oven—warm reassurance. He joins her on the floor. She asks and he answers. He asks and she laughs. The breeze starts to calm as Rin’s hands warm from the fire and her heart warms from his words. She touches his hand with her own. The oven nearly breaks and the bread nearly burns as Lucanis stumbles over his words, too focused on the feeling of her hand in his own.
Rin stays until her eyes start to droop. Lucanis doesn’t suggest that she go to bed until she’s already dozing off. By then they smell like a picnic of fresh food in a blooming garden under a starry night—happy together.
“What if—” Lucanis says, hand still on the door handle. “—I waited for you, by the fire?”
The rustling, the clinking of plates and cups—it all stops. “…Lucanis.”
He turns to look at her. She stands across the room, looking at him with sad eyes turned red from quiet tears, and a silent plea not to give her hope.
“Would you join me there?”
Would you try again, with me?
Rin sighs and frowns at him. “Maker, Lucanis. You can’t—why won’t you just…You already said…"
She turns away, goes back to what she was doing.
“You don’t mean that,” she says. “It’s just the rut talking. It’s—I don’t know—hormones, or something.”
“What if it’s not?” He asks.
Rin pauses again, back turned to him.
It would be easy to blame the sex, to say that whatever he feels is just lingering hormones. It would be easy to walk away, to blame the dragons and the out that Rin has already given him. He was the one who ended it, after all. But, whatever bit of that fire still smolders inside him won’t let him leave this alone.
Protect, it says. Find the pain and make it stop.
Provide, it says. Give what is so desperately needed.
Try. Maybe it’s Spite who says it, or maybe it really is just instinct begging him again to try.
So slowly, carefully, Lucanis goes to her. He drops what he’s holding and rounds the couch. Rin tries to brush him off, to busy herself with cleaning up what remains of the bedding, but it’s not hard to see that she’s too distracted to really focus on it.
“Rin.” Lucanis creeps closer to her, close enough to reach out to her.
“Stop it,” she says. He does. His hand stops short of brushing her arm.
“…Rin,” he tries again.
She takes a shaky breath. Her shoulders seem to relax on the exhale. “Maker.”
Lucanis can’t see her face, but he sees her hand wipe at her eyes. Carefully, gently, he reaches for her and lays his hand against her back. She takes another breath.
“You don’t even realize what you’re doing, do you?” She asks.
“What am I doing?” He asks, because truly, he doesn’t know…
…but his body seems to.
Without reason, it feels natural to press close to Rin, to brush his hand along her arm soothingly. Eventually, she turns just enough that Lucanis can take her hand in his own. She won’t look at him, but she doesn’t stop him as he pulls her close. It’s then, when she’s back in his arms and he’s close enough to press his nose to her hair that he feels it: a wave of calm and assurance.
Lucanis holds her like it’s something he’s always done—not desperately or carefully, but securely. Perhaps they don’t know the way forward from here, but he’s never really needed a plan before, and that calm that washes over him, that fire that still smolders says that everything is going to be okay.
And eventually, it seems like Rin starts to believe it, too. The rain storm in her scent starts to calm to a gentle shower as she leans into him, laying her head on his shoulder. She settles there, face turned into his neck. Slow, deep breaths follow, and with each breath, the tension bleeds out of her.
“…You know, you’re a good alpha,” Rin says.
“…am I?” Lucanis asks. He isn’t trying to be. He just never wanted her to be so sad. “Does that mean you’d look for me, if I waited for you?”
Rin sighs, and then she’s quiet for another moment.
“…If I did?” She whispers, eventually.
“I’d have a cup of cioccolata calda waiting for you.”
“It might be cold by then.”
“Then, I’ll make a fresh cup.”
Again, she sighs, but Lucanis can hear the laugh that it hides.
“It’s more likely that I’d still be the one waiting for you,” Rin says.
Lucanis knows she’s not talking about their evenings by the fire anymore. He also knows that she’s right. It is a selfish thing he is asking her to do. And yet.
“…Would you?” He asks.
“We can’t just go back to the way things were.”
“I know…but…”
How does he say it? How does he tell her that since the attack, he’s spent every waking moment with Treviso on his mind? How does he tell her he didn’t realize how attached he was until he let her go? How does he say that he’s scared to let go again, now that’s she’s here in his arms, but he’s not sure if he can afford to split his heart in two?
“…I missed you.”
Rin stills against him. Slowly, she takes a breath, she pushes away from him, looks at him, finally, and the scent of withering starts to subside.
“I missed you, too.”
Lucanis leans forward until his forehead touches hers. He earns her smile.
“I can’t promise to always be there,” Lucanis says. “But…maybe…”
“We could go slow,” she finishes.
Lucanis nods. “And when the contract is done, and the elvhen gods are no longer a problem…perhaps we could…take a walk around Arlethan or…”
Rin frowns. “…Are you asking me on a date? One that we won’t get to go on for…months, probably?”
“If I was?”
The suggestion makes her huff and shake her head, but a smile tugs at her lips anyway. It slowly spreads across her face, like a rain storm that’s finally broken. “Then…maybe I’d say yes. If you were asking, that is.”
Lucanis laughs, and it only makes Rin’s smile bigger.
“…Are you sure this is a good idea?” She asks.
“No,” he answers. “But I think it’s worth a try.”
It must be the right thing to say, because the next thing Lucanis knows, Rin glances down at his lips and asks: “…Can I kiss you?”
Lucanis smiles. He nods. Yes, he’d like that very much.
Rin crashes into him like a storm. He’s consumed with her petal-soft lips, her soft hands in his calloused ones. She smells like rain, but it’s not raging rainstorm that it was before. Now, it’s more like a spring shower in a garden; something that makes the roses bloom.
Lucanis wipes away the tears from her cheeks as they part. More tears well in her eyes, but they sparkle like bright stars shining above her rosy smile.
“Maker, the way you smell…” she says, breathing him in. “I know you’re not doing that on purpose, but if I didn’t know better, I’d think you were still in rut.”
An idea comes to mind; a bad one. He shouldn’t give it any thought, but Rin is here in his arms, she smells warm and happy, and there’s this voice in his head telling him to just—
“Try.”
“…What if I am?”
Rin frowns at him, worry creasing her brow. For a moment, Lucanis thinks that he’s just ruined everything, but then her frown softens into surprise as she realizes what he’s trying to say.
They haven’t left the room yet. No one knows that it’s over but them. They’re in limbo between rut and reality, and even though Lucanis knows that reality won’t be so bad to return to, now, they don’t have to go. Not yet.
“Andraste’s ass…” Rin mutters, shaking her head again.
She bites her lip, taking a moment to think. She sighs.
“Well, we’d have to take care of it, obviously” she says. “I can’t just let you loose in the middle of a rut.”
“But you’ll help me, of course?” Lucanis drops his hands to Rin’s hips, gently pulling her flush against him.
“Of course!” Rin nods, trying not to smile too widely. “I wouldn’t leave my alpha to go through his rut alone.”
Lucanis turns his face into her neck, pressing a kiss to that spot where her scent is strongest.
“Sweet omega.” He cringes at himself as he says it, but it earns a giggle from Rin. “So good to me.”
Lucanis lifts her, suddenly. That earns him a surprised shriek and a laugh that sounds like twinkling stars. Rin wraps her arms around his neck, clinging to him tightly as he walks them over to the couch. He sits back on it, putting Rin on top of him, straddling his lap.
She’s beautiful. Loose long hair falls over her shoulders, starlight seems to sparkle in her eyes as she smiles, and she smells like the sweetest of roses—a whole garden of them in full bloom, just for him. She leans forward, gently pushing their foreheads together, and her smile softens.
“This isn’t slow,” she says.
Lucanis rubs little circles into her skin where his hands sit on her hips. “I won’t tell if you won’t.”
“It’s our secret then.” She touches him in kind, fingers brushing over some sensitive spot on his neck that makes him shiver. She bites her lip again. “How do you want me, alpha?”
Lucanis huffs, leaning up to kiss her again.
“Just like this.” Where he can see her. Where he can hold her.
She smiles into their kiss, and Lucanis does his best to memorize the feeling. Just like this, just for now, just for a little longer, he doesn’t have to worry about anything else but the delicate heart in his hands and the way it makes him feel.
Her kiss is gentler now, but warmer, too. It’s a happy kiss, a lazy kiss with hands running through his hair. Rin melts into him, against him, as if she too knows that they have this moment to just be.
It’s all so warm and lovely that Lucanis hardly notices the fire simmering under his skin until Rin shifts in his lap. Something warm grinds down over his cock and suddenly Lucanis regrets putting his pants back on.
He groans into their kiss, and it makes Rin laugh. As she parts from him, she grinds down on him again, harder this time. Even through the fabric of his pants, he can feel the warmth of her cunt. It’s almost embarrassing how easily it arouses him.
Lucanis lays his forehead on her shoulder, helpless under her touch. Rin rubs herself over him again and again, harder and closer each time. She laughs in his ear as her hips tease him and her hands card through his hair.
“Just like this?” Rin asks, a little breathless.
She smells like a blooming garden. It’s a familiar scent by now, but it feels like this is the first time Lucanis has ever truly breathed it in. He’s spent days surrounded by the scent, but through the haze of the rut, he never realized how sweet and warm it truly is. It’s the kind of scent that one can feel—not just arousal or pleasure, but joy.
This—stealing away this moment with him—makes her happy.
“Yes,” Lucanis mutters. He turns his head into her neck, breathing her in as much as he can. “Mierda.”
“Ah!” Rin gasps as Lucanis brushes his lips over that spot on her neck where the scent is strongest. She grinds down a little harder against him, and Lucanis can feel her warm slick starting to soak into his pants. So, he does it again.
“No biting! Rook said!” Spite reminds him.
Lucanis knows that. Rin said not to, Spite’s been making sure he won’t, and Lucanis can almost remember why a bite is so significant. Though, it’s not as important as how sweetly she moans and shivers for him now as he sucks on all of the hickeys he left there just hours earlier.
Rin lets him do it for just a minute longer, just until his teeth start scraping her skin, before she finally pulls his head back with a tug to his hair.
“Maker, you love toeing the line, don’t you?” She asks, pushing him back against the couch.
“So do you,” Lucanis says.
She smiles and shakes her head. With the bit of space she’s made between them, Rin pulls her shirt off, tossing it to the floor. Lucanis’s eyes go wide. He’s seen her breasts before—she was naked just twenty minutes ago—but as with her scent, it’s different without the haze of the rut. They’re just so round and pretty and he has the sudden desire to just press his face into them. Lucanis feels himself grow harder, and he can’t help but stare, feeling too awestruck to do much else.
She reaches down between them to pull at Lucanis’s pants, and his gaze follows her hands. Rin rises up onto her knees and Lucanis realizes he also hasn’t seen her cunt outside of the rut. Maker, it’s so wet. She’s soaked his lap in sweet-smelling slick. The scent of it is almost more intoxicating than the scent coming off of her neck. No wonder he started the rut with his face pressed to her pussy.
“Lucanis.” Rin tugs on his pants again.
With a flushed face, Lucanis hurries to help her pull his pants off. He kicks them off, and then his cock is finally free and his hands are back on her hips, waiting for whatever comes next. In the meantime, he can’t help but look: at her tits, at her cunt, at all the kiss-shaped bruises he left on her skin. He doesn’t need to see at his own cock to know he’s rock-hard and leaking pre-cum. (It’s the same cum that’s still trickling out of her cunt and smeared on her inner thighs. Maker, he must’ve pumped her full of himself.)
Rin laughs and kisses him. Lucanis looks up at her sparkling eyes. “Look at you,” she says. “So sweet and shy without the rut driving you.”
“Don’t tease…” Lucanis mutters, face growing hotter.
Rin reaches down and takes his cock in her hand. She gives him slow, tight strokes that make him putty in her hands. She thumbs over head of his cock, using Lucanis’s precum to slick the way.
“You sure?” She asks with a devious little smile.
Lucanis can’t concentrate enough to respond beyond a breathy groan. It’s embarrassing, certainly, the way she pushes him around and makes him feel like a toy to played with and used, but he also doesn’t want her to stop. It’s not so different from being in rut, really—it’s just instead of taking whatever he wants, he’s taking whatever she’ll give him.
Rin rises up on her knees to better tower over him, and with her free hand, she tilts his head up to meet her gaze. After a moment, she takes a breath and smiles. Lucanis wonders what he must smell like to her. Whatever it is, she must like it, maybe even as much as he likes her blooming scent. She looks like she might try to lock him up here forever.
Maker, he’d let her.
Gently she leans down, lips barely brushing Lucanis’s but not quite kissing him.
“You know…you’re pretty like this,” she says.
Lucanis swallows hard. It’s as if Rin is determined to keep him flushed and stumbling.
She keeps close to him, hand under his chin forcing him to look at her—as if he could ever look away—but Lucanis feels her other hand pause. She holds his cock instead of stoking him and—
Oh. Oh.
Rin sinks down onto him, guiding his cock into her warm wet cunt. She doesn’t take her eyes off of him, and Lucanis doesn’t dare to look away. He just feels it as she goes down, down, down, until finally she’s sitting back in his lap.
They’re both breathing hard, breathing each other’s air as they just sit and adjust for a moment. Rin’s gaze isn’t so sharp and teasing anymore. In fact, she looks almost as dazed as Lucanis feels.
Then gently, Rin squeezes around him.
Lucanis groans and his hips twitch up involuntarily. It makes her gasp and press closer, squeeze tighter around him. She feels like the Golden City around his cock, warm and wet and wonderful. This is that final piece of the puzzle—that memory from the rut that he gets to have for the first time all over again. Lucanis remembers the warmth, the slide, the sound of her screams, and the scent of sex and cum mixing with Rin’s addictive blooming scent. Without that rut haze, he still feels it all, but now she’s here in his arms. Lucanis feels every little twitch she makes, each breath she takes, and the way her heart pounds in her chest.
He can’t tell who’s voice it is—his own, Spite’s, or those damned alpha instincts—screaming at him for more.
More.
“More!”
Lucanis takes hold of her, hand firm on Rin’s hips, and fucks up into her. And then again. And again. And again.
“Fuck! Fuck—shit—Maker!” Rin scrambles to hold on to him, hands grabbing at Lucanis’s shoulders and back. There’s a furrow in her brow, and her eyes are still locked on his, like she’s trying so hard to stay there with him, to not lose herself to pleasure.
“Tsk. Stubborn omega.”
Lucanis brings her hips down to meet him, groaning as she starts to ride him, sometimes grinding down on his cock and sometimes bouncing on it. It’s tempting to look down, to watch her take her pleasure, but Lucanis keeps his eyes on her. It’s a competition by now—he can’t possibly look away, at least not before she gives in.
Though, Lucanis allows himself one pleasure. He lets Rin do the work, lets her ride him, but though his hips still, Lucanis does not sit idle. His hands snake their way up her body, over her back and her stomach, all the way up to her pretty bouncing tits. He takes one of them, squeezing gently. She’s soft here—she’s soft in most places, but especially here. Lucanis touches and squeezes and teases her breasts. It makes Rin whine and sigh, and another idea pops into Lucanis’s head.
She watches him carefully, and it’s good that she does. Lucanis wants Rin to watch as he lowers his head, takes her tit into his mouth, and sucks.
That’s what finally breaks her. Rin flushes and moans. She bites her lip and arches into his touch. Her eyes squeeze shut, finally giving in.
Lucanis smiles to himself as he sucks on her tits; teasing her nipples with his tongue, pulling gently at them with his hands and his teeth, rolling the little buds between his fingers. Rin can’t focus enough to look at him, then. She just rides him harder, slips one hand into his hair and presses his face closer, and slips the other in between them. Lucanis can feel her fingers move, touching herself, circling her clit as she fucks herself on him.
Glancing down, Lucanis can barely see it, but there’s something so exciting about watching her pleasure herself, especially alongside the sight of his own cock disappearing inside of her again and again. Every part of him is consumed by her. He gives by letting her take, and Maker, he loves it.
Then, Rin’s whole body slowly goes stiff but she never stops moving. If anything, she gets more frantic. She rides him harder. Her fingers practically vibrate over her clit. She crushes his face to her tits.
“Lucanis!” She screams and—Maker—she’s coming.
Lucanis feels it in a steady pulse as her cunt squeezes his cock tight and fast. He’s helpless to the pleasure that hits him, and suddenly he’s coming too.
The pleasure hits all at once, blinding him. His hips twitch up, fucking into Rin shallowly as she milks him dry. Lucanis’s vision goes white for a minute and that minute seems to go on forever. Even without the rut, it feels like he’s pumping so much cum into her. It’s a few minutes, probably, before Lucanis stills, relaxes, and falls back against the couch. Rin is already slumped against him, unmoving but limbs loose.
They both breathe hard. It’s a few more minutes, maybe, before either of them move. Sweat cools on their skin as Lucanis’s mind drifts. It feels like he’s in a haze—not quite rut, but not quite awake. Though exhaustion starts to set into his body, there’s a pleasant kind of soreness that comes with it. And, a beautiful soft scent surrounds him; not just her, but them.
It’s an evening spent together, just before dinner. Fresh roses decorate the table, set under a clear starry night. The bread is in the oven, spending a few last minutes crisping to perfection, and dinner is on the table. But, they take a moment for themselves in the midst of their preparations. They share a smile as they sway in each other’s arms, lost to the feeling of…
What is it called? That feeling of warmth and comfort, shaking hands and steady smiles, assurance that everything will be alright as long as she’s right here in his arms.
That’s what it feels like. That’s smells like—the two of them together.
Rin shifts in Lucanis’s arms. “Are you sleeping?”
Lucanis cracks an eye open. She’s hovering over him again, one hand scratching gently at his beard.
“No,” he says, half-lying. She smiles, and Lucanis can’t help but smile with her. “…but I could be convinced.”
“Oh,” Rin coos. “You’d sleep with me?”
Lucanis glances at her lips. “Perhaps. If you ask nicely.”
Rin laughs, leaning down to kiss him. She tastes sweet, like blooming roses and a candle-lit dinner on a starry night.
Lucanis thinks he’s never felt more right than this.
