Chapter Text
"Ah" Charlie gasped "I only just realized, all of you are fresh arrivals, so we'll need to work something out in terms of you guys having money"
"Well, I've got plenty of work experience" said Mike "security guard, restaurant manager, mechanical engineer, private technician, part-time Halloween decoration"
"What?" Charlie started laughing "did you make that last one up?"
"Yeah, I figured a joke would break the tension" Mike shrugged, he put his hands into his pockets, only to freeze for a moment and pull out a worn down leather wallet in confusion "I didn't think this would come with me"
"It shouldn't have" Charlie mumbled equally confused.
"I bet he's got a condom in there" Angel whispered to Husk.
"You better pay up when he doesn't" the cat replied, opening his wallet, Mike was even more confused to see notes that he didn't recognize.
"May I?" Charlie asked, holding out a hand, Mike reluctantly gave her his wallet and she began counting "holy shit, how do you have 600 Souls?"
"Wait, what?" Mike exclaimed in shock, he noticed a woman with long white hair brandish a spear out of the corner of his eye, "how does that work? I've never, where would I?… oh god damn it father" his loud confusion dissolved into a tired realization "hey kids" he called out, drawing their attention "can you please check any pockets you have"
The masked children looked between each other before reaching into their respective pockets, only for each of them to pull out similar notes, but in smaller quantities than Mike's wallet.
"You seem to know where we got these" Gabriel commented "so explain"
"First of all, that was rude" Mike pointed "second, I found a lot of my father's notes on possession and the substance he called 'Remnant' that caused it, so I'm guessing that it translated into currency for us"
"We haunted the animatronics" Jeremy nodded "wait, what were you possessing then?"
"My own corpse" Mike answered bluntly.
"Is that why we didn't kill you?" asked Gabriel.
"Because I was already dead?" replied Mike "yeah, anyway how much is it to book a rehabilitation stay for six?"
"Why for six?" Charlie asked, feeling dizzy about the conversation involving haunting and possession.
"Well, there's five kids and one bear" Mike answered, pointing at the children and sinner he came to Hell with "and later I need to find my sister, who's with my father at the moment"
"What about you Mike?" Henry asked, noting how he excluded himself, Mike ignored the older man's question and extended his hand for his wallet back.
"Did you two think of something?" Emily asked, looking up from her notepad.
"Um, how much does action committed after death effect where someone goes?" Charlie asked, making nervous hand gestures.
"Is this related to what you said about souls being unable to move on?" Sera asked "does anyone else know about this?"
"I think everyone who knew about this were in that fire" Evan answered, looking down at the plush in his hands.
"But, the others did some things after they were possessing the animatronics" said Charlie answering the first question "oh, this whole thing is so confusing"
"I think it'll be best to take some time to think this all over" said Sera "Emily, will you take care of them?"
"Of course" Emily smiled "would you like to get something to eat?"
"Anything but Pizza" Evan replied, Charlie nodding with him.
"I think we've been around pizza enough for an eternity" she giggled "I've kinda wanted to try Chinese food"
"I know some great places" Emily cheered "would you like to come Peter?
"Um, okay" he smiled and followed the Seraphim and children out of the room.
"Sera, what the hell?!" Adam shouted after the others left "you're just letting them get off free after attacking me?!"
"You provoked a child Adam, and now you're surprised when he lashed out" Sera replied "and you lieutenant, your first action in this event was to attack the distressed child instead of trying to calm the situation at hand" the tall angel walked back to her desk and sat back down "both of your actions here have me questioning your authority, consider this a warning"
Adam was in disbelief as he couldn't find the right words, Lute glared hard at the Seraphim "with all due respect ma'am" she all but growled "the creature he created was down right demonic, and his family are child killers"
"That is enough from the both of you" Sera spoke up "I would ask both of you to leave for now, we will continue our meeting about the extermination later, a missing soul is a crisis we have never seen before, so it must take priority"
Adam and Lute left the room, the first man complaining the whole way.
William Afton wasn't a religious man, but he knew he was now in Hell, the trap Henry and Michael had created for him was something he couldn't escape, and had separated his soul from the springlock suit he'd died in, the only positive the situation had brought, was reuniting him with Elizabeth, who had chosen to side with him over Michael.
The thing that surprised him was his new form as he walked through the streets, it didn't take him long to discover how strong he was physically now either, the red furred mugger who tried to rob him, now laid in a pool of his own blood with an arm ripped off as proof.
"This is a good knife" he commented, looking at his new prize.
"Fuck you" spat the injured man, sticking his arm back into place.
"Oh fascinating" William grinned "now that I know you aren't going to die so quickly, you are going to answer some questions for me"
"Like I would do that you bas-" he tried to shout, only for William to stomp his metal foot down on the man's knee, breaking it.
"I haven't asked a question yet, so have no reason to talk" he growled "Elizabeth, come over here" the tall girl nodded, following her father's command "now, I'm going to ask a question if I don't like the answer, my daughter will rip off one of your limbs, understood?" the furry man only nodded fearfully.
"Excellent" William's smile was the opposite of reassuring "are we in Hell?" the man nodded, "I thought so, Elizabeth, rip off his left hand"
The once mugger screamed in pain "I answered your question!"
"Yes, you did, but I didn't like the answer" he chuckled "now, let's see if this next question has a better one"
It was over an hour later that the two Aftons walked away from the alleyway, the red smears could barely be identified as a person any more "it seems that I'll have more work to do now" William muttered, he froze for a moment, feeling an electric tingle across his new fur, Elizabeth noticeably flinched at the feeling "you can come out now"
"Wow I didn't think two new sinners would be able to tell I was here right away" came a charismatic voice, appearing a bolt of lightning was a tall man in a black suit with blue pinstripes, but his most noticeable feature was the TV he had for a head.
"I doubt you'd make such an entrance for no reason" William commented "so why are you here? And what do you want?"
"Now, now, there's no need for such hostilities, you can trust me" the man said "my name is Vox and I wanted to talk two the people involved the angel that came to hell, unfortunately most of them were taken in by the princess"
"You mean Eggs?" Elizabeth questioned.
'She doesn't know that was Michael' William realized "yes, him, he's been a thorn in my side for a while now, but I think I know who you really are, Vincent Whittman"
Vox visibly stiffened, his smile growing tense "that name died on Earth, it's Vox now" he took a step forward "but how about some introductions"
"I am William Afton and this is my daughter Elizabeth" William answered "but if you want that information, how about we make a deal?"
"Oh?" Vox raised an eyebrow "I'm listening..."
