Seokjin held the pile of boxes between his side and the wall as he opened up the door, cursing the wind for slamming it shut when he had so many trips to still make. Jeongguk was inside unpacking the boxes for his office while Seokjin was getting the rest of the boxes for the kitchen off the loading truck. It was the last room they needed to get down from the moving truck, and Seokjin was ready to get all the heavy lifting over with so they could start making their house a home.
He sighed out in relief when he finally made it through the door, and his mother was waiting for him patiently in the kitchen. She already had out all the dishes behind her and seemed to be organizing them by everyday, party, special occasion, etc. Seokjin was sure she would explain it to him later.
"Thanks," he said as she grabbed the smallest box from his pile and moved it onto the island. He placed the other boxes on the floor by her feet, and she patted his head before he straightened out again. "Mom, my hair is sweaty."
"I raised you, your sweat doesn't scare me," she laughed, wiping her hand on her apron before getting back to sorting. She pulled out a large cerulean-colored glass plate and smiled in appreciation. "Ah, these are going to look so pretty in the new cabinets."
Seokjin hummed, glancing over at said cabinets before helping her lift one of the heavier boxes onto the counter. "It's kind of weird seeing this place renovated."
"It's what your grandmother would have wanted," his mother assured him, squeezing his bicep. "It's why we've kept this house all this time."
Seokjin's nose twitched as Jeongguk's scent floated underneath it, and he followed his mother's gaze behind him to see Jeongguk standing there with a smile. "How's it looking?"
Seokjin perked up when Jeongguk came to his side, wrapping his arms around Seokjin's waist and resting there. Seokjin brushed his fingers through Jeongguk's bangs, frowning at the bags underneath his eyes. "I have a few more trips and then we'll have everything in the house. You should take a nap if you're tired. That's why I got the mattress down first."
"I'm okay," Jeongguk said, resting his cheek on Seokjin's shoulder. He laughed when his ring caught on Seokjin's sweater, and they struggled to untangle it for a few seconds before Seokjin's mother had to step in and help. "Sorry, sorry."
Seokjin smiled, kissing Jeongguk's forehead before pulling away and heading towards the hallway. "Give me a few minutes."
"I'll help," Jeongguk chirped, following him out after squeezing Seokjin's mother's hand and thanking her again for helping. “I’m not tired, really.”
She waved them away, and Seokjin grinned. Jeongguk laughed, reaching for Seokjin's hand as they headed outside. Jeongguk, ever so smart, ended up putting one of the potted plants Seokjin had yet to unload in front of the door to keep it open as they got down more boxes. Seokjin was only a little disappointed in himself for not thinking of doing it in the first place.
"Hyung," Jeongguk whined three trips later, "where did we get all this stuff?"
"Your brother isn't allowed to buy us dinnerware sets for our housewarming party," Seokjin warned, dodging a small box on the ground so he wouldn't trip and fall flat on his ass. "Yoongi either. It was funny for your graduation, but if they buy us more kitchenware, I'll throw a tantrum."
His mother threw him a look, and he smiled shamelessly. "That's my cue to go. You're turning into a mega brat."
Jeongguk snickered, peeking into the box he carried in and shoving it into a specific corner. Judging from the position, Seokjin guessed it was the coffee machine. "I'll handle him. Thank you for coming."
Seokjin waited as his mother coddled Jeongguk and reminded him to visit her in a few days, shuffling the boxes so it wasn't impossible to get around the kitchen. Jeongguk teased that he would be there as soon as Seokjin wasn't being needy, and Seokjin didn't bother to defend himself. There was no use. He lost every single time.
He smiled when his mother dragged him into a hug and responded with a tight grip of his own. Who was he to reject a nice hug from his mother? "Bye, mom. Thank you. Text me when you get home, alright?"
His mother tipped her head up to kiss his brow, and he bent down a little to help her reach. "I will, sweetheart, even if I live only ten minutes away." She was teasing him, and Seokjin could only smile. "Good luck unpacking."
They walked her out to the car and grabbed the last few packages in the moving truck after saying their goodbyes. Seokjin debated on taking the truck back immediately or waiting, but he wasn't in a rush.
Instead, he took advantage of the time and walked behind Jeongguk, waiting until his omega was still to wrap his arms around Jeongguk's waist. Jeongguk responded with a simple hum, leaning back against Seokjin's chest as he removed the newspaper from the fragile glassware and set it down on the counter. "Hyung. We're busy."
"We've been working since seven in the morning," Seokjin reminded him, pecking daintily at Jeongguk's neck. He smelled sweeter there, warmer and inviting and like Seokjin, and if Seokjin had to pick one place to stay for the rest of his life, it would be right up against Jeongguk’s throat. "We should rest. Our new mattress seems like the perfect place to do so."
Jeongguk laughed at Seokjin's awful attempt at flirting, reaching back to cup the side of Seokjin's neck. His fingers were cold from the weather, but Seokjin kept himself still to enjoy his mate’s touch. "Are you trying to get me into bed, hyung?"
"I might be," Seokjin said, smiling as he kissed underneath Jeongguk's jaw. "I think it'd be nice to break in the new place."
Jeongguk turned in his arms, placing his hands on Seokjin's chest as he grinned. "You're incredible, you know that?"
Seokjin smiled, puffing his chest out. "So I've been told. Mostly by you."
Jeongguk rolled his eyes, but he leaned in for a kiss anyways. Seokjin melted into it, and if it weren't for the way Jeongguk winced when the counter started to dig into his back, they might have stayed there forever. "Bed, hyung. That's what you wanted."
"Okay, okay," Seokjin laughed, slotting their fingers together as they stumbled out of the kitchen. Seokjin kind of liked the messiness of moving in. It reminded him that they were going to start the next chapter of their lives. It meant that they were starting it together.
Jeongguk grabbed a few blankets to put down on the mattress as Seokjin looked around for supplies. "Condom?"
"Just lube," Jeongguk said, smiling when Seokjin's face lit up in disbelief. "What, you don't want to knot me for the first time in our new home?"
Seokjin huffed out a laugh, but it turned into something more like a squawk. That only made Jeongguk laugh, and they flopped down on the bed together in a flurry of movement not unknown to their usual bed escapades.
"I love you, hyung," Jeongguk said, smiling as Seokjin tugged their tops off and pushed them over the side of the bed. There was a mess of clothes on the floor already, so what were two more sets? Seokjin was going to do laundry later anyways. "I'm so happy we get to live here."
"I love you too, Guk-ah. And I was always my grandma's favorite," Seokjin joked, snickering when Jeongguk rolled his eyes. "What? I was!"
"You were the only one left without a house," Jeongguk bit back, poking Seokjin's stomach before working at undoing his pants. That was true, but Seokjin had said since he was younger that he wanted to be the one to inherit their grandparents’ home once he was old enough to. He didn’t think his brothers minded, since they didn’t want to stay in the same neighborhood as their parents. It all worked out in his favor. "Hyung, you're lame."
Seokjin snorted, leaning in to nip Jeongguk's bottom lip. That got Jeongguk quiet, and he fell back against the mattress as Seokjin worked his tongue into his mouth. Seokjin kept him like that until Jeongguk started to roll his hips against his thigh, soft moans falling from his lips, and then he pulled back with a satisfied smile. "If I'm lame, you're lame with me."
Jeongguk pouted, lifting his butt off the bed so Seokjin could shimmy the pants and underwear off his legs. "Hyung, I'm cool."
"Alright, fine," Seokjin relented, kissing at a mark he had left on Jeongguk's belly a few days ago. It was a delicate pink, now, and Seokjin remembered when it used to be an alarming red. He wasn't sure which he liked better. "You’re so cool, Jeonggukkie."
Jeongguk huffed, brushing his fingers through Seokjin's hair. "Just hurry up, hyung."
Seokjin laughed, tipping his head back as he settled between Jeongguk's thighs. "You're always so impatient, Guk-ah. Let me enjoy you."
"But you're not even enjoying me," Jeongguk whined, arching himself up as if to entice Seokjin. It was working, but Seokjin wouldn't tell him that. Not yet. "Hyung. You started this. Finish it."
Seokjin smiled, curving downward to pepper kisses along Jeongguk's neck. "I know, I got you."
Seokjin liked to tease, but he never lasted for long. Jeongguk was too good for him, and they had too much fun during the actual act for Seokjin to prolong it. Especially when Jeongguk let him knot. Maybe he would be strong enough to do it during their mating ceremony, since he wanted it to be special, but he would have to practice a lot of self control.
He pushed in without much time spent in preparation, since they had had sex the previous day, and Jeongguk turned into jelly once Seokjin got to work. He pushed back against Seokjin without much effort, and Seokjin knew that was because Jeongguk was tired and wanted Seokjin to do most of the work. He didn't mind, really, since Jeongguk was making all sorts of sweet sounds.
It didn't take long for him to knot up either, and Seokjin got his hand on Jeongguk's cock to jerk him off right on time for it. Jeongguk grunted in surprise and rolled his hips down on Seokjin's knot. "Please, hyung."
"I know," Seokjin panted, jerking Jeongguk off. He tried to hold back until Jeongguk came, but there was no helping it when Jeongguk was doing his best to get them knotted up together.
He rested his forehead against Jeongguk's neck as his orgasm rippled through him, his thighs twitching as his hips jerked forward with purpose. Jeongguk laughed as he did it, gripping Seokjin by the nape as he helped Seokjin continue jerking him off.
Jeongguk stole one of Seokjin's sweatshirts after they finished their shower together, tugging on a pair of basketball shorts as he climbed back on the bed. Seokjin already had the dirty blankets on a pile on the side so he wouldn't forget to clean them later, but judging by Jeongguk's expression, he was five seconds away from grabbing them to keep himself warm.
"Jeongguk-ah, don't."
"Then hand me a new blanket," Jeongguk said, smiling when Seokjin did so. "Let's watch a movie on my tablet, hyung. It's on the desk behind you. Then we can make dinner?"
"I'm glad your dad helped us with groceries. I’m too lazy to go to the store," Seokjin snorted, tying the drawstring of his sweatpants before climbing on the bed with Jeongguk's tablet. It was his turn to pick a movie, but he ended up following Jeongguk's suggestions, anyways.
Jeongguk grabbed the pillows that were thrown next to the mattress and shoved them against the wall so they could have something to lean on, and Seokjin relaxed against him once the opening scene started to play. Jeongguk smelled nice, like body wash and Seokjin and water, and Seokjin took in a deep breath to enjoy it a little longer.
He wiggled his arm around Jeongguk's back to curl it around his waist, and Jeongguk smiled, placing his hand on top of his stomach so Seokjin's free hand could play with his fingers. Seokjin found himself playing with their engagement ring more often than not.
He couldn't help it. He still couldn't believe Jeongguk was really his.
Jeongguk rested his head on top of Seokjin's as the characters made terrible decisions and fought over things that Seokjin swore he would never do. He swore that, maybe, but deep down he knew he had fought over petty things like that before. He would do it again, too, but such was life.
"I'm really grateful to have you in my life," Jeongguk said during a lull in the plot. It was so sudden that Seokjin blinked up at him in surprise, but Jeongguk was smiling down at him so calmly that it made Seokjin feel at peace.
"I am too," Seokjin said, bringing Jeongguk's hand up to his lips to kiss at the divot between their fingers. "Thank you for staying by my side. We’re lucky, Jeongguk-ah, you know that? We both have good jobs and good families. We might not have the world, but I think we have enough."
Jeongguk smiled wider, his cheeks tinged with pink. His skin was still warm from the shower, but Seokjin knew the way Jeongguk blushed like the back of his hand and he held that information intimately in his heart. "I have you, hyung. I don't need the world."
Seokjin closed his eyes, pressing his cheek against Jeongguk's shoulder as the affection squeezed around his mind and body. His wolf preened under the attention and love of its omega, and he didn’t blame it for how much it adored Jeongguk. Jeongguk returned to the movie, contentment rolling off of him in waves, and Seokjin kept his eyes on their interlocked fingers.
Maybe they were wrong. Maybe they did have the world.
