Chapter Text
“Ready?” The Minister of Magic asked his son.
Riley smiled up at him, and embarrassment and joy could be seen.
“Yes, father.” The youngest said.
“Do you have everything? Toothbrush? Candy? Ohmygodswhataboutyoursocks?!” Abraxas exclaimed.
Sniggering, Riley replied, “Yeah, I have my socks.”
Tom raised a questioning eyebrow at him.
Sighing, his husband said defeatedly, “Please don’t ask.”
Oh, Tom planned on asking, alright.
That afternoon would check out just well enough, thank you.
Riley went off jogging towards the train, trunk being wheeled behind him. Sighing shakily, Abraxas said, “Time sure does fly by.”
The MoD then had a thought that took over all of his brain functions in that moment.
What about when they died?
Would Abraxas be able to come with him? He wanted to do so much, but if his lover had to cross over…
…Then he would follow.
What about Riley?
A false smile took place once the train had left the station on Tom’s face. Looking at his husband, he asked with his arm held out, “Shall we go?”
Looking at him, scrutinising his face, Abraxas slowly nodded and replied, “Yeah, sure. Let’s go home.”
He took Tom’s arm and they Disapparated away.
As soon as they landed, the MoD said, “I’m going to my study.”
Concerned, Abraxas looked at him. “Are you okay?”
Tom dipped his head and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. “I am, promise. What about you?”
Biting his lip, his lover replied with, “I’m worried about you.”
The Minister smiled at him. “There’s no need to be.”
Nodding slowly, Abraxas said, “Okay.”
“Perfect.” Tom turned around and started the walk to his study, feeling eyes filled with worry bare into the back of his head until he turned into the first corner.
As soon as he arrived, he called for Death.
“Yes, Master?” They rasped.
His throat felt like a bludger had been shoved down it, but Tom managed to ask, “Are Abraxas and Riley able to come with me?”
Tilting their head, Death said, “You have to elaborate on that.”
Gulping, their Master confirmed, “Once we’re dead. Are they able to come with me.”
Pausing, a few seconds passed before Death replied, “You are my Master.”
“I know that!” Tom exclaimed.
“They can come with you, because you have no bounds in the Realms of Death. You can control my Domains at will.” The deity explained.
He felt as though he could suddenly breath.
It all depended on wether or not they wanted to go and rest, of course, once they were dead, and Tom knew that he could have visited them, but…..
They had a choice. And he would do anything within his power to make sure they got what they wanted, what they deserved, and joined them in whatever choices they’d make.
Even if that meant that he couldn’t cause some mischief every once in a while.
But alas, the sacrifices he will make for his loved ones.
Cracking a smile, Tom thanked Death. “You’re the best.”
Bowing their head, Death replied, “I only live to serve you, Master.”
Tom snorted.

It was time.
Tom and Abraxas had been waiting at the station for what felt like decades, before Riley finally stumbled into their waiting arms.
“I did it!” Riley said with a big grin. “I managed to become a Dark Lord!”
The MoD blinked at him, then shrugged. He did remember Riley mentioning it once. Besides, you didn’t have to be Immortal at some point in your life to be a Dark Lord/Lady/Whateverthegenderneutraltermis.
“Okay.” His son pouted at the answer his father gave him.
Blinking, Abraxas said, “I thought you wanted to become Minister. Like your father.”
“I did that, too. Actually, I went the political way, like you recommended, father!” Riley exclaimed happily.
Chuckling, Tom ruffled his hair. One of their many late night talks must have wove itself into his mind, at last. “So, what do you two want to do?”
Furrowing his eyebrows, Riley asked, “Can we do your life, father?”
The voice of Death interrupted their thoughts. “Of course, Youngling. Master will be Harry Potter, Abraxas Malfoy as Draco Malfoy, and you shall be Hermione Granger.”
“Amazing!” Riley managed to say as Death snapped their fingers and whisked them all away.

He instantly shot up, banging his head on the ceiling of the Cupboard under the Stairs.
Groaning, the rush of memories entered his brain.
A tantalising smile spread its way through his mischievous features as he thought of the Chaos That Shall Reign.
The Wizarding World was going to get the shock of its life.
