Beyond The Back Roads
A coastal town haunted by sea legends, a tired writer recluded in the mountains, two chilhood friends falling in love in the same place they grew up, a village where stray cats are more than they seem...
The theme of this round is all about small towns and hidden villages, stories unfolding beyond back roads. The bustle and noise of the city are far behind ; here, it's all about local fairs, nosy neighbors, vegetable picking and winding paths, a place where everyone knows each other's name, and where secrets are hard to keep... unless the village itself is keeping one.

Summary
A faint melody wafts through the window, and San realizes that the boy is humming. He rocks back-and-forth on his knees as he skims his open palm over the clover, a sweet, slightly sad-sounding melody slipping from his lips. His dark hair tumbles across his eyes, and he reaches up to tuck it behind his ear, still rocking gently in time with the tune.
He has a nice voice.
●
San is a vampire, accustomed to his solitary existence in a small cottage on the edge of the woods. When Wooyoung, with his brilliant smile and warm laughter, tumbles into San's life one summer afternoon, San starts to wonder if he can let himself love, and be loved, again.

Summary
“So I’m supposed to walk around Namhae flanked by three mysterious men the entire time,” San repeats, dumbfounded. “Isn’t that just asking for attention?”
Wooyoung shrugs. “We can be inconspicuous if we want to be.”
“No.” San shakes his head. “We can’t do that.”
“We have to. It’s all been arranged and finalised already.”
“That sounds like a 'you' problem.”
“Since I’m pretty much a part of you now, it’s more of an ‘us’ problem.”
“An ‘us’ problem?” San snaps. “There is no ‘us’.”
“Sure there is,” Wooyoung says, leaning back on his chair. “There was an us the moment you signed that contract.”
(Or: after a close run-in with a crazed fan, idol Choi San is forced to lie low in his hometown. Enter his new bodyguard: childhood rival, full-time menace, and fake boyfriend — Jung Wooyoung.)

Summary
Namhae-do. South Gyeongsang's hidden gem is officially on the map, and it's Jung Wooyoung's job to show it off.
Starting with this island, Departure Magazine is kicking off its new series to highlight Korea's littlest known vacation destinations, and Wooyoung is the photographer on the job, tasked with leading the story and shooting the feature. He has just over a week to capture all of Namhae's charms, but this is his first big gig, and he's got a lot to prove. This has to be the story that makes the people fall in love with his work – and him fall in love with his job.
Uncertain about his future and not entirely convinced of the countryside appeal, Wooyoung shows up to Namhae with a little bit of doubt and a lot of grit.
His accommodations? The guest bedroom of the head of the village. His job might not be the only thing he falls for.
