Summary
“You’ve got to actually be fucking joking,” Iruka spat, cutting him off. “You tracked us down and jumped us on a dare? Leave us alone.”
"Dare? Not just a dare." The fool jabbed a thumb at Kakashi. “This one proved his honor in the war—these mountains are desolate and it’s everyone for themselves.” He looked Iruka up and down again. “If you’re going to be up here, you’re going to need to prove you’ve got the guts.”
“As if you—I swear to fucking gods.” Iruka cut himself off and shook his head. “You know what? Fine.” Rage was boiling in his stomach now; he could feel it heating his face.
If the villagers, fighter—whoever they were—had been out to provoke him, they’d succeeded.

Summary
Iruka stared at the symbol rapidly appearing on his arm. He had heard of it of course, had gone to bed with stories of it, hearing his mother’s soothing voice lull him to sleep with stories of long lost lovers. He knew he would have his own one day. His parents after all had a matching dolphin on their wrists, Iruka’s own name being a homage to their soulmarks. But, he had just forgotten he could have one too on his own.

Summary
Relics from Uzushiogakure are rare and precious. In his lifetime, Iruka has received three of them. One from his mother, one from the mysterious Anbu and one from the Hokage. Mount Hokage holds memories that only sakura flower can revive. “And though sakura flowers always wither, they always bloom the following year”, a travelling photographer told him one day. Even though, deep down, Iruka knew it's always been him.
