I started watching Doctor Who in the early 1980's; Tom Baker was the first Doctor across the pond but it was Jon Pertwee who I really liked. I joined the Doctor Who Fan Club of America, the Tampa Bay chapter. With my background in the entertainment business, I became the Special Events Coordinator. When DWFCA conventions came to town I secured volunteers(ensuring everyone would have time to meet the guests). And assisted the staff and guests. I have worked with Pat Troughton, Peter Davidson, Colon Baker, John Nathan-Turner and UNIT( all of them). I also had the great opportunity to meet Jon Pertwee, a true gentleman. After the 1980's I moved on from Who and was sad that it had been cancelled.
When the movie was announced I was thrilled and liked it very much. When Series 2 was announced, I was over the moon. David Tennant's Doctor quickly became my favorite of the 2nd series and I was really enchanted that Rose was given the metacrisis Doctor. (BBC dropped the ball by not producing any specials about this couple in their AU.)
As for the 13th Doctor? I watched the 1st episode and called it quits. Hopefully there will be a 14th and will go from there.
One day I found AO3, full of fan fiction about the 10th Doctor and my beloved Tentoo & Rose. I decided to write again and posted "Last Gift from an Old Mentor."
My AU is broken up into several series; the original being my (completed) 'Reflections...' series. 'The Early Years' are Rose and the metacrisis Doctor before and after getting married. 'The Kinder Year'(s) (Kinder is German for children) for obvious reasons and The Rebirth Years, which take place after 'Last Gift From an Old Mentor.'
