“I can’t believe this.” Bakugou muttered, jaw dropping in disbelief upon setting eyes on the kettle before him.
The two shared an apartment in the bustling city of Tokyo, being boyfriends and all, and Bakugou was usually the one who prepared breakfast for the both of them. However, due to yesterday’s late night shift taking way longer than it should have (Damn those pesky villains. Why can’t they just stop running when he shouts at them to.), he returned home half past one in the morning and ended up waking way later than usual, leading to the current situation.
“I tried to boil the water for miso soup.” Todoroki explained, fidgeting slightly under Bakugou’s piercing gaze.
“Uh huh,” Bakugou started off before gesturing to the kettle with contents so black that it would have put Vantablack to shame, “And somehow you burnt water?”
“Somehow.” Todoroki repeated meekly.
“Oh my lord.” Bakugou muttered, collapsing onto a nearby chair, “How does one burn water?”
“By putting the water into the kettle?” Todoroki offered.
“Shouto, no.”
“I tried.”
“I can tell.”
And silence resumed with only the sound of the microwave breaking it. Both of them weren’t strangers to silence as most of their relationship comprised of it. Despite Bakugou being a person who seemed unlikely to appreciate such things (With him having an explosive character, and an even more explosive voice), he really did like the comfort and serenity the quiet brought and —
Wait, the sound of the microwave?
“Shouto, did you put something in the microwave?”
“Hmm? Oh, I placed a can of tuna into the microwave.” Todoroki answered calmly, seating himself across his boyfriend.
“Oh, it’s just a can of tuna.” Bakugou sighed in relief, closing his eyes momentarily.
Wait…
Red eyes flew open as his right hand slammed the table, “A CAN OF TUNA? Please, please , say you didn’t just chuck the can in there.”
“I… did.”
“FUCK.”
For all those of you who are confused as to why Bakugou is reacting in such a way, let this humble author explain. A can is made of metal. Metal is reflective. Reflective = Microwaves are going to be deflected off the can = The microwave is going to explode = You’re fucking screwed.
“I’m so sorry, Katsuki, I swear I’ll roast chicken tonight to make it up to you.” Todoroki apologized.
To which came Bakugou’s immediate rejection, “No! Please leave the cooking to me. If you want to roast anything, just roast me.”
“Got it.” Todoroki replied, leaning in to plant a quick kiss onto Bakugou’s lips. To which said male’s head instantly reddened.
“I’ll be going now. Enjoy your day off, Katsuki.”
“Tha-That wasn’t roasting, just letting you know since you’re so dense…!”
Cue a sweet smile and a slight tilt of Todoroki’s head, “I know.”
And with a chuckle, Todoroki left, leaving behind his boyfriend who was currently suffering from a floof-related disease.
“Even though he nearly blew up the microwave and somehow burnt water, he’s so cute. Aa, he’s too adorable, my heart is dying, my heart is dying.” Bakugou muttered, covering his mouth with the back of his hand in a poor attempt to hide the blush on his cheeks.
“Fuck, I’m so weak for him.”
“Still not going to let him cook though.”
