Chapter Text
Imprisoned in a twisted fate, Ulquiorra Cifer knew not the joys of a normal life. His existence was a haunting quandary, a mere specter to mortals, devoid of purpose.
In his grotesque form, he traversed the human realm, forever trapped in an endless cycle. Like Sisyphus eternally pushing a stone uphill, only to watch it roll back down, Ulquiorra's endeavors were futile, lacking any meaning.
This was the curse that plagued him.
Cast out from the fiery depths of hell, the monstrous demon found himself condemned to the earthly realm. The piercing rays of the sun banished him to the shadows, while angels relentlessly pursued him, unyielding in their mission to vanquish him completely.
Amidst the abyss of his purposeless existence, he clung to a slender ray of hope. It was Satan himself who, amidst the chaos of his banishment, had spoken softly of a promise: "There is a girl... she will reject it." Those mysterious words reverberated through his mind as he ventured through the realm of humans, his purpose obscured yet intertwined with the quest to find this mysterious girl
Traveling under the shroud of darkness, Ulquiorra roamed from town to town, eluding the vigilant angels, driven by an insatiable hunger for human souls, and relentlessly searching for the girl he believed could hold the answers he sought.
In the depths of a shadowy forest, within the hollow of an ancient tree, lay a creature of darkness. His majestic wings were folded back, and his glowing eyes pierced into the abyss.
As the sun sank below the horizon, signaling his time to take flight, he emerged from the tree, unfurling his magnificent black wings. It was time to embark on another journey. With the angels hot on his trail and a ravenous hunger gnawing at his core, he inhaled a deep breath and soared into the sky, ascending to great heights.
In the distance, the twinkling lights of a small, picturesque town beckoned him. He could almost taste it—the essence of a human soul. His feral gaze burned as the wind tousled his raven locks.
"Goodbye, Tatsuki!" Orihime bid farewell to her best friend. They had spent the day indulging in retail therapy and savoring ice cream, creating cherished memories together. For the rest of the evening, the auburn-haired girl dined with her friend's family and joined them for a movie, savoring the warmth of their company.
After the untimely loss of her older brother at the tender age of 12, Orihime found herself living a solitary existence. She relied on government grants and the inheritance from a distant uncle to make ends meet and afford her rent until she could start college. Tatsuki's family graciously embraced Orihime as their own, and the bond between them was akin to that of sisters. Every moment spent with them was treasured, and Orihime wished for it to last forever.
"Are you sure you don't want me to walk you home, Orihime?" Tatsuki called out from her doorway.
Orihime hesitated before responding, "No, it's okay! I’m just happy I got to spend time with you and your family! I’ll be fine I promise!"
Even though Tatsuki had offered to accompany her, she didn't want to burden her friend with such a trivial task after having spent all day with her.
A slight smile tugged at Tatsuki's lips. "Alright if you say so… just call me when you get home, okay?"
Orihime promised and waved goodbye as she ventured into the night, disappearing from view. The raven-haired girl closed the door behind her.
Dressed in jean shorts and a pink shirt adorned with delicate floral patterns, Orihime strolled through the familiar streets of Karukura. In daylight, it would have been an effortless and enjoyable journey. But at night that was a different story. She was not accustomed to the shroud of darkness, for her nature and disposition thrived in the radiant embrace of daylight.
Down below in the simple town there stood three rugged men, weathered souls tainted by their impurities. Yet, who was Ulquiorra to pass judgment? For he, the most corrupted being to ever walk the planes, harbored a craving unlike any other. It wasn't a yearning for his own kind, but for something pure and untarnished—a soul devoid of blemishes.
His yearning burned for the kind of soul that promised boundless fulfillment, surpassing all his past encounters. Yet, it remained an enigmatic treasure, an elusive essence that had eluded his grasp thus far.
Within the depths of hell, whispers circulated among the demons, tales spun by those who had come face to face with such purity. They spoke of their hollows throbbing with an exquisite ache, breaths caught in the throat, and bodies frozen in both pleasure and pain. It was an experience that transcended the boundaries of ecstasy, pushing the boundaries of sensation to their very limits.
But what would truly unfold if a demon were to partake in the consumption of a pure soul? The answer remained shrouded in mystery, known only to the devil himself. It was a secret locked away within the depths of his infernal dominion, hidden from the prying eyes of both mortals and immortals alike.
As minutes turned into an eternity, Orihime discovered herself ensnared within the intricate maze of a desolate alleyway. It was an ill-fated attempt to find a shortcut home that led her into this web of whispered shadows and brooding darkness.
Her nerves were under siege, with anxiety gnawing at her very core, unraveling her composure bit by bit. Each twist and turn she took within the confounding alleyway only intensified the symphony of sinister sounds that enveloped her, their malevolent echoes reverberating in the suffocating atmosphere, infiltrating her every sense.
Even the moon seemed to conspire against her, concealing its radiance behind a billowy veil of clouds. Abandoned by her sole source of light, Orihime felt a chill crawl up her spine, as if an invisible hand tugged at her very sanity.
A piercing voice shattered the suffocating stillness causing Orihime’s heart to leap into her throat. The sound cast an eerie echo that made her gasp and spin around, her eyes widening as she searched the dimly illuminated surroundings for the source of the voice.
"Look what we have here."
Reminiscent of a scene from a chilling horror movie, Orihime felt a shiver run down her spine. Just then a second voice emerged "A Loli traveler," it sneered, its utterance sounding alarms in her.
But her body froze in place, immobilized by an overwhelming fear that took hold as if a deer caught in headlights.
Emerging from the inky blackness, a figure materialized before her eyes, its features etched in shadow. Two more men slithered out from the murky depths, their presence akin to slinking predators closing in on their prey.
Cloaked in garments as dark as the night itself, their attire seemed to mold to their bodies with an ominous embrace. A noxious wave of alcohol fumes emanated from their figures, assaulting Orihime's senses and intensifying her unease.
Her knees quivered uncontrollably as Orihime instinctively retreated, only to meet the
barrier of a dead end. Panic surged through her veins, as if the very walls of the alleyway were constricting around her. The trio of men drew nearer, their lewd whispers slithering into her ears like venomous serpents.
"Oh man, look at those breasts," one of them snickered, his vile intentions oozing from his lips like toxin. "They’re almost big enough for all of us at once."
A wicked grin spread across the face of another man, his eyes gleaming with a predatory hunger. "Don't even think about it. She's mine," he growled.
Every instinct within her screamed for her to break free from this terrifying ordeal. But caught in a labyrinth of fear and despair, Orihime realized that there was no escape. The walls of the alleyway seemed to close in around her, confining her like a bird trapped in a cage.
Suddenly, the central man overpowered her and pressed her against the cold brick wall behind her. In the suffocating darkness, Orihime could feel something hard and repulsive protruding from the man's groin, pressing against her trembling form. The sheer horror of the situation drove her to rasp in desperation, her voice strained and barely audible. With all her might, she struggled to free herself from his vile grip, but her efforts were in vain.
As the night grew murky, Orihime's vision became obscured, the moon still hidden behind a concealing shroud. Helplessness and disorientation washed over her in the chaos. In this moment the second man also closed in on her, leaving the third to stand watch.
Now, she found herself assaulted by two sets of hands that stealthily slithered up her vulnerable sides. The gruesome caresses ventured beneath the fabric of her shirt, another tracing along the slender curves of her legs, all leading towards a dreaded center point she fervently prayed they would not reach.
A wave of revulsion surged through Orihime's entire being, her body recoiling from the loathsome contact. Pinned against the unforgiving wall, she thrashed about, fighting for her very existence. In a swift and brutal motion, her hands were forcefully pinned above her by the second man, the texture of brick inflicting lacerations upon her knuckles from the sheer intensity of the act.
With free terrain, the first man pressed his length harder into Orihime, his twisted grin and actions sent a wave of chills and disgust through her. In a grotesque display of depravity, he extended his tongue, revealing the odious scent of alcohol and smoke that clung to his every breath.
Just as his tongue grazed her quivering neck, Orihime's plea for mercy lingered on the precipice of her trembling lips, her voice a fragile whisper. Panic gripped her, suffocating her in its relentless hold, as his hand ventured beneath her shirt, seizing her chest, while his other hand inched closer to the intimate depths between her legs. "P-please... no," she managed to utter, her senses teetering on the brink of a piercing scream that threatened to rupture the night, when...
A sudden gust of wind enveloped them, a chilling tempest that materialized out of thin air. In the dimly lit alley, a sinister figure emerged from the shadows behind the unkempt men, casting an eerie silhouette against the darkened backdrop. Orihime strained her eyes, peering past her assailants, her gaze widening in astonishment as she beheld the sight of gracefully unfurled wings that loomed in the shadows.
"Hey, who are you?" the man keeping watch croaked as he spun around to face the entity. The creature cast a fleeting glance in his direction, its penetrating gaze searing into the depths of his soul, before unleashing its wrath. In one swift motion, its serpentine tail whipped out, coiling around the man's throat with an iron grip. The desperate gasps for air transformed into a haunting silence as the man succumbed to suffocation. The monstrous being drew the lifeless body closer, taking in a breath, its insatiable hunger consuming the man's very existence. As it exhaled, the remnants of the man dispersed into the wind, reduced to nothing but a whisper of ash.
Just as the second man reluctantly released his grip on Orihime's trembling wrists, preparing to confront the otherworldly creature, the demon swiftly intervened, ensuring the man met the same fate as his unfortunate companion.
As Orihime strained to decipher the unfolding events in the murky darkness, a glimmer of illumination danced in the creature's eyes, capturing her attention. They flickered with a strange light, resembling the animalistic gaze of a snake or the piercing stare of an owl. A paralyzing realization dawned over her—she was in the presence of a demon.
Seizing the opportunity, the third ragged man finally released his hold on the young girl and drew a menacing knife, his voice filled with defiant rage. "Stay the fuck away from me!"
In an instant, the creature materialized before him, its speed defying the laws of physics.
As the moon emerged from its brief concealment, casting its ethereal glow upon the scene, the true form of the creature was revealed in all its eerie grandeur. Orihime's silver eyes widened, their once captivating depths now reflecting sheer terror.
With an imposing presence, the creature unfurled its majestic wings, their expanse stretching to fill the cramped confines of the alleyway. Its penetrating gaze seemed to pierce through the darkness like a knife.
Strands of layered hair, as dark as the abyss itself, cascaded around its otherworldly countenance, partially obscuring its features from the shadow cast over it by the moonlight. However, despite the darkness, Orihime could vividly make out the creature's eclipsed eyes and the tear-like marks that streaked from them, as well as a darkly tinted upper lip.
Two slender white horns protruded from its head and the color of its skin held an otherworldly pale glow, contrasting with the darkness that enveloped the alley.
In the center of its chest, a gaping void lay bare, seemingly emanating a darkness that seeped outward, enveloping the creature's lower half. His beastly form was further enhanced by the presence of fur adorning the lower half of its arms and its lower body. Its menacing tail swayed with a deliberate and calculated grace.
Every aspect of its being exuded an aura of mystery and danger, captivating and unnerving Orihime in equal measure. Paralyzed by fear, she could only watch in silent horror as the creature unleashed its wrath upon the man who had held her captive. With a swift and powerful strike, it shattered his grip on the knife, rendering him defenseless.
In the blink of an eye, the demon's iron grasp closed around the man's neck, its vise-like grip constricting his airflow. The desperate human gasped and wheezed, his struggling attempts to draw breath growing more futile with each passing moment.
Drawing the man closer, the creature leaned in, its face contorted with a mixture of solemnity and hunger. It closed its eyes in an unhurried manner, parting its lips as it began to consume the very essence of the man's soul. Just like the others, the man disintegrated into a swirling cloud of ash, carried away by the gentle breeze that travelled through the alleyway..
Orihime bore witness to this grisly spectacle. Fear seemed too meek a word to encapsulate the intensity of the emotions coursing through her veins. It was more than fear—it was an amalgamation of awe, dread, and an inexplicable fascination with the forbidden.
As the creature concluded its merciless act, its gaze shifted towards Orihime, the weight of its sinister attention now fully upon her. A tremor coursed through her body, her head tilting upward to meet the creature's intense gaze. The air grew heavy with anticipation, as if the world itself held its breath, waiting for the next chapter of this chilling encounter to unfold.
Ulquiorra savored the lingering taste of the three souls he had just consumed. Their essence, though repugnant, provided him with sustenance. As he reveled in the aftermath, a faint presence caught his attention, refusing to fade away. He turned his gaze towards it, discovering a human girl standing before him, bathed in the moon's gentle radiance. The moonlight illuminated her heart-shaped face, fiery tresses cascading around her, and her eyes shimmering like molten silver. Fear tainted those eyes of hers, but upon closer inspection, Ulquiorra discerned an unexpected emotion.
It was gratitude.
I see… he silently pondered, swiftly comprehending the circumstances that unfolded before him. He had intervened, saving her from the clutches of those three men, an act that defied his predetermined fate. Yet, destiny remained unwavering in its demands, compelling him to adhere to his role as a demon destined to consume her soul and depart, as he had done countless times before.
Ulquiorra's hand extended, poised to grasp her delicate neck, drawn by the alluring aroma emanating from her soul. However, a sudden and unexpected occurrence disrupted his intended action. Time seemed to stand still as he found himself immobilized, his eyes widening in astonishment, unable to make even the slightest movement.
"This is..." he uttered, his gaze locking with the girl's. Confusion mingled with gratitude in her eyes. Ulquiorra's hand remained suspended in the air, caught in an inexplicable bind, unable to retreat.
Orihime observed the shifting expressions on the creature's face as his hand reached out to her. Was he expecting her to accept it? Her thoughts became muddled in the presence of this enigmatic being. Moonlight spilled from behind him, enveloping his form, while she remained transfixed, gazing into his unchanging orchid green eyes.
With apprehension she slowly reached out to him.
Ulquiorra's core filled with terror as he witnessed the human girl's hand inching closer to his own. "No... No... No... No!" he silently pleaded. But despite his inner turmoil, her gentle fingers brushed against his, and in an instant, an electrifying sensation surged through his entire being. The touch, so simple yet so profound, evoked pleasure unlike anything he had ever experienced.
But as the sensation reached his hollow, an excruciating pain coarsed through him like electricity. Agony intermingled with pleasure, the conflicting currents battling within him, rendering him unable to retreat.
Struggling to regain control, he stammered, "S-stop..." His face twisted in anguish as the overwhelming sensations mercilessly gripped him. Summoning every ounce of strength within, he delved deep into his being to force his body to move.
Orihime, oblivious to the creature's inner struggle, delicately intertwined her fingers with his. Her eyes softened with a blend of curiosity and compassion, as she reached out in an attempt to bridge the divide between them. With no resistance from him, her touch conveyed a tentative gesture of empathy and connection.
"Don't touch me!" The exclamation burst forth from his mouth as he regained command over his actions. In a swift and harsh motion, he forcefully pushed her hand away, catching the human girl off guard and leaving her bewildered by the sudden change in his demeanor.
With a majestic unfurling of his wings, Ulquiorra prepared for flight. Their eyes locked, a momentary connection of silver meeting green, before he vanished in the blink of an eye. His departure stirred a sudden gust of wind, causing Orihime's vibrant orange locks to sway and dance in its wake.
