Work Text:
"What if they don't like me?"
"They'll like you."
"What if they realize I'm a terrible employee and fire me after a day?" Jimin whines while sinking into their old and uncomfortable couch. The sight of it matches the cheap theme of their apartment.
Jungkook doesn't even look up from his phone as he replies to Jimin. "Hyung. They'll love you. You're a hard worker and you have a pretty face. They won't fire you."
Jimin huffs in annoyance at the lack of attention. "Damn straight I have a pretty face."
The younger finally looks up from his phone to give Jimin a curious look. "What are you going to do about your tattoos? Hide them or tell them?"
Jimin sinks down further into the couch in annoyance. "It's a hassle and a half to explain to explain my tattoos to others. I'll just hide them. It's easier than having to explain this mess," Jimin replies as he looks down at his wrists to see the two matching black tattoos glaring right back up at him.
Everyone is born with two tattoos on their wrists. One on their left. One on their right. They can be any color, symbol, design. etc. One tattoo matches the one your soulmate has, and the other matches the one your worst enemy has. The downside to all of this is that nobody knows which is which. Granted, most people can tell when they meet someone if they like them or dislike them.
Jimin is the exception though. The tattoos on both of his wrists match each other completely. The tattoos are two black koi fish swimming is a perfect circle. Almost touching each other, but not quite. The thought of having your worst enemy and soulmate being the same person actually makes him curious and excited. He feels like nothing would ever be dull with this person.
Others though only look at him with pity. Whenever they gaze upon his wrists they always offer their condolences or give him a look of pity. They only view it as a bad thing, whereas Jimin tries to keep a positive outlook on it.
Jungkook has been the only person to not give Jimin a look of pity when he first found out about it. He just gave Jimin a sly smile and said, "You're going to have fucking nasty hate sex that's not really hate sex. More like I love you and hate you sex. It'll be great."
Coincidentally, that is how Jungkook became Jimin's best friend during their freshman year of college. Now they're both juniors living off campus in a run down apartment. Which is why Jimin is now freaking out about his new job that he applied for because they have no money. Ramen is the only food that fills their cupboards, and even that's not really considered food.
Jimin glances over at Jungkook's wrists. On his left he has a small black arrow pointing towards his hand. On his right he has a golden sun that outshines almost any other tattoo Jimin has ever seen. The sun wraps around his arm and catches the light perfectly, shimmering gold whenever it does.
Two completely opposite tattoos. Unlike Jimin.
He glances back towards his wrists. "I'm tired of people looking at me with pity. I'll just wear long sleeves when I start work at the cafe tomorrow and not talk about them. It's for the best."
Jungkook jumps up from his spot on the chair and dramatically throws himself on top of Jimin's body, crushing him in the process. "My little baby hyung! I know you'll be the best barista in the whole place!" He cheers as he continues to suffocate Jimin underneath him.
"Get off of me you brat!" Jimin giggles while kneeing him in the gut and rolling him off onto the floor. Jungkook just lays there with a grin on his face. Jimin just smiles and stares up at the ceiling, hoping that everything will turn out okay.
---
The cafe shouldn't look this daunting. It looks like a regular, welcoming cafe. One that Jimin would walk into normally with a smile on his face. But, now his nerves are starting to get the best of him as he swings open the door and walks inside. The cafe has a warm atmosphere, barely any people in it. Mostly just college students on their laptops doing homework. Jimin has been assigned the later shift so it doesn't clash with his morning classes. It also makes it easier to learn when there isn't a rush of people yelling orders at him. Jimin glances around until his eyes land on the man behind the counter. He gives Jimin a big smile. "What can I do for you today?"
"I'm actually the new employee here," Jimin responds with a shy smile.
The employee's face lights up. "Ah Jimin right? My name is Seokjin! I'll be working several shifts with you and teaching you how things run around here!"
Jimin can already feel his nerves vanishing. He returns the smile and heads around the counter, grabbing the black apron that Seokjin held out for him. Jimin takes a quick peek at his wrist to see a simple blue ocean wave. A peaceful tattoo that brings a slight smile to Jimin's face.
Seokjin notices his gaze and holds out his other wrist as well. A singular black circle residing on it. "I met my soulmate four years ago when I was a sophomore in college. His name is Hoseok and he is the light of my life. We share the wave tattoo. My worst enemy and I share the black circle tattoo, but I've never met them before, and I hope I never do." Seokjin finishes as he glances down at Jimin's wrists, only to see them covered with his sleeves.
"Don't worry Seokjin-ssi. I don't have a black circle tattoo. I prefer to leave my wrists covered because my tattoos have a long backstory to them that I would rather not talk about." Jimin reasures with a smile.
Seokjin gives him a knowing look. "I completely understand. They're yours and yours alone. You don't have to share. Oh and also just call me hyung! We'll become friends in no time!" Seokjin laughs with a slight squeak to it.
At this point Jimin's nerves have completely disappeared. The elder has already created a sense of belonging with him. Seokjin gives him a bright smile. "Let's begin shall we?"
---
The saying that time flies when you are having fun is exactly how Jimin feels after a few hours being trained by Seokjin. He practically taught him everything Jimin would need to know to survive in this cafe. While cracking jokes the whole time. Jimin has thrown himself over countless counters, trying to catch his breath from laughing too hard.
It's nearing closing time when a man walks in through the door, the bell chiming slightly to alert them. Jimin looks over and is taken aback by the angry look on the stranger's face.
The stranger has a snapback on, hiding most of his black hair, but it gives Jimin a wonderful view of his forehead. The rest of his outfit is simply black, but he seems to be able to pull if off. Still wearing the angry look on his face, he storms past the counter and into the back room without even glancing at the two employees. Jimin turns to Seokjin with surprise, only to see him already have an exasperated look on his face. He glances over to Jimin and rolls his eyes.
"That's just Yoongi. Pay no attention to him. He works here but he mostly does the middle shift. Meaning that you'll most likely end up working with him during the first couple hours of your shift. He must of forgot something in the back room when he was here this morning."
Sure enough, ten seconds later the door swings back open and Yoongi storms out. Keen on not even making eyes contact with anyone. Before he could escape, Seokjin calls out for him.
"Yoongi! come say hello to our new employee Jimin. He'll be working with you from now on. Be a little friendly." Seokjin practically chastises him.
Yoongi's piercing eyes meet Jimin's straight on and a jolt of heat flows through Jimin. Subconsciously his eyes drop down to his wrists, only to see his wrists are covered as well. Yoongi notices this and hides his wrists behind his back. "Welcome kid. Don't get in my way and we'll get along just fine." He says with a cold hint to his voice. Jimin bristles at the tone and casts his eyes to the ground.
The sound of the chime signals that the man, Yoongi, has left. He hears Seokjin sigh next to him. "I swear he normally isn't like that. He might of just been having a bad day. I'll definitely text him after my shift is over to chew out his ass though."
Jimin chuckles wearily. God that Yoongi just gave off asshole vibes. But, Jimin is ashamed to say he was slightly turned on by him as well.
Seokjin claps him on the back. "Come on. I'll show you how we close up around here."
Jimin just nods along, but glances back at the entrance. Life is about to get very interesting.

Jimin sets his phone down on the counter and heads to the door, pushing it open so he can get back to work instead of hiding out in the break room. Yoongi is there on the far counter, cleaning up some of the machines.
If he isn't going to pay attention to Jimin while he is nice, then Jimin will have to get his attention some other way. Jimin doesn't even know why he's so adamant about trying to get his attention. Normally if people didn't like him, he moved on.
There is just something so infuriating about this man. "And possibly even sexy" his brain so graciously supplies for him. He huffs in slight annoyance as he stands behind the register. Glancing every once in a while at the other man.
Yoongi has wiped the same machine about three times now, so it's clear to Jimin that he is avoiding him. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
"Yoongi hyung I don't think you're doing it right. Seokjin hyung showed me a different way that makes sure you don't have to wipe it three times over." Jimin calls out with as much confidence as he can muster.
He visibly sees the Yoongi's body freeze at his words. His head slowly turns around and he gives Jimin a shocked expression. Most likely at the audacity of his words. Jimin's face continues to have the fake smile, all the while nerves are flooding his system.
"Here hyung let me show you."
Yoongi continues to stare in shock and confusion, so Jimin walks up and grabs the rag from his hand. "It's easier if you do it like this," he says as he starts to wipe down the already clean machine. He hears Yoongi huff.
"I already fucking know that's how you clean the machine," Yoongi grumbles as he grabs the rag back. Jimin puts a hand on his hip and stares the man down.
"Are you sure? You were cleaning it for a long time. I was just trying to help," Jimin responds innocently, smiling a little on the inside to himself. Yoongi's glare deepens as he lightly pushes Jimin's shoulder away.
"Go back to the register and do your job."
Jimin giggles evilly at the older man. "But there's no one there hyung. I'll just keep you company over here until a customer comes."
Yoongi looks like he is internally screaming, but he gives Jimin a slight nod of his head. The two stand there in awkward silence for awhile. Neither knowing how to start a conversation. Before Jimin can even muster up the courage to speak like he did earlier, a customer comes in. The boy walks up the counter and gives Jimin a big, boxy smile. He has fluffy brown hair that frames his perfect face. The customer has on many layers, including long sleeves that hide his tattoos. Jimin reluctantly makes his way over to the register.
"Hello. My name is Jimin. What can I get for you today?"
"Can I have an iced cinnamon almondmilk macchiato please?" The stranger orders. Yoongi is already starting to preparing the order behind him.
"Who should I make it out to?" Jimin asks while grabbing a sharpie to write on the cup currently in Yoongi's hand.
"Taehyung please," the man, Taehyung, replies with a smile. "Alright Taehyung-ssi. Your order will be right out," Jimin states while scribbling the name on the cup in Yoongi's outstretched hand. Jimin smirks evilly. He jerks his hand a little bit to mark Yoongi's fingers with the black sharpie, marks that aren't easily washed off. Yoongi whips his head around and fixes Jimin with a seething glare. Jimin just winks back. Yoongi rolls his eyes while bringing the cup over to the machine. The order is made quickly and Taehyung is out the door in less than five minutes with his macchiato. Silence engulfs the duo. You think you're funny brat? You don't want to make enemies her. Especially me," Yoongi growls as he fixes Jimin with a heated stare.
Jimin feels excitement flood through his body. "I don't have any enemies hyung. Everyone loves me. Except you apparently. Now I've made it my goal to annoy you."
Yoongi continues to stare. "How do you plan on doing that Jiminie?"
Jimin squirms at the nickname. "I plan on being better at everything than you and winning employee of the month. That should annoy you right?"
Yoongi gives a cocky smirk. "I'd like to see you try."
Jimin smirks back. "It's on."
Just then the door chimes again and Seokjin walks in. "Yoongi you're free to go! It's my turn to work with our precious Jimin."
Jimin drops the smirk and smiles at Seokjin. "I'd thought you'd never show up hyung!" His eyes glance back towards Yoongi to see him still staring at Jimin. He reluctantly moves away and heads towards the break room to grab his things. "Thanks hyung. See both of you later. Oh and Jimin?" Yoongi calls out. Jimin turns his head towards the man.
Yoongi smirks. "Good luck."
Oh Jimin is definitely going to win this now he thinks as he subconsciously rubs his tattoos.
He won't loose.
---
It starts off slow. Jimin reminding Yoongi here and there about simple tasks that the other already knew about. Over the course of a few weeks it escalates to new levels. Both of the duo trying to outdo each other in every little thing. Whenever the manager would stop by, both were on their best behavior. Whenever no one was looking, heated stares and side-eyes would be exchanged.
The one thought that always plagues Jimin's mind as of late though is the fact they have never seen each other's tattoos. There is something electric between the two, but Jimin is terrified to find out that the other's tattoos are different. He doesn't want to break the bond the two have established. He knows it's going to blow up in his face eventually, but he just doesn't want to deal with it at the moment.
It's another slow afternoon, about one hour before closing. Yoongi has already left several hours ago, and Seokjin is currently behind the counter with Jimin just chatting about idle things.
"So hyung. When am I going to meet your soulmate huh?" Jimin questions with a smirk. Seokjin lets out a laugh.
"Trust me, Hoseok wants to meet you too. I'll tell him to stop by sometime towards the end of our shift," Seokjin replies as he leans against the counter by the machines. "Is Jungkookie coming again today?"
Jimin rolls his eyes. "Yeah. That brat loves his free coffee."
Seokjin and Jimin are laughing when the door chimes. Jimin looks towards the door to see Taehyung, a now frequent regular, and a tall stranger standing next to him.
"Jimin! Seokjin hyung! I would like to introduce my best friend Namjoon hyung!" Taehyung explains excitedly.
Namjoon offers the two of them a kind smile. "It's a pleasure to meet both of you. Taehyung is always talking about the kind people at the cafe."
Jimin grins back at the two of them. "And Taehyung has certainly mentioned you once or twice. The pleasure is all ours. Do you guys want to order coffee while your here?"
Taehyung nods eagerly. "Two of the usuals please!" He explains as he reaches to hand the money over. Two things happen at once.
The first being that Jimin notices his sleeves are rolled up to reveal his tattoos. Or tattoo for that matter.
On his right arm is the same exact gorgeous sun tattoo that is on Jungkook's arm. The same exact tattoo as his best friend's.
His left arm in blank. Not a single tattoo in sight.
Taehyung notices his gaze and quickly drops his arm and covers his sleeves. A shy expression crosses his face and he looks away.
The second thing that happens if that Namjoon jumps to pay instead. As he reaches out, Jimin notices his tattoos. On his right arm, a silver flower tattoo. That's not what caught Jimin's eyes though.
On his left arm, there is a small black arrow pointing towards his hand. The same exact one on Jungkook's arm.
What the actual fuck?
Jimin accepts the money easily with a smile, but is currently freaking out on the inside. Which one is Jungkook's soulmate? Which one is his enemy? Why does Taehyung only have one?
Seokjin happily makes the drinks behind him while Taehyung and Namjoon wait by the counter on the end. Jimin is so nervous. What does he do? Does he mention Jungkook?
As he stares off into space in nervousness, the door chimes again.
"Bloody hell," Jimin mutters under his breathe, because standing right in the entryway, is a grinning Jungkook here for his free coffee.
"Don't look so surprised Chim Chim. I said I was coming for another free coffee." Jungkook smiles as he walks up. Jimin quickly glances at the duo by the other counter. Namjoon is chatting with Seokjin as he makes their coffee, but Taehyung is glancing shyly at Jungkook in curiosity. He leans slightly while trying to get a peak at Jungkook's arms.
Jimin panics and grabs Jungkook, angling him away from Taehyung so he doesn't see his wrists. He doesn't want this all to explode right here in the cafe. Jimin wants to find out first why Taehyung only has one tattoo first before he offers his best friend up. He likes Taehyung and he sure he will come to like Namjoon as well, but he is very protective of his best friend.
His best friend that likes to act tough, but is really a big softie who can't handle heartbreak. His best friend that has a body that looks like it can beat you up, but the face of a cute bunny that mirrors his personality.
"Do you want to chill in the break room while I make your coffee? I'll be back there in a second."
Jungkook nods curiously, but doesn't question him as he heads towards the back and out of sight. A glance towards Taehyung shows that his eyes follow Jungkook's every movement. All the way until he disappears. Then his eyes switch to Jimin's.
"Who is that?"
Jimin just hums as he makes Jungkook's coffee. "My best friend. He is really shy around strangers, so he hid in the back for now." Jimin chuckles. It's not entirely false. Jungkook is shy around strangers. Not the point he would leave a room though.
Jimin glances back towards Taehyung to see sad puppy eyes staring at the door. His resolve crumbles somewhat. "I'll tell you what. You give me your number and I'll give you some info about my shy friend over there."
Taehyung lights up at the aspect and hands his phone over. Jimin grabs it and types his number in, sending a quick text to himself so that he also has Taehyung's.
The two leave shortly after that and Jimin calls Jungkook out from the back. He sips his coffee as Seokjin and Jimin close up the cafe for the evening. Jimin knows that he is receiving weird looks from both Seokjin and Jungkook over his recent behavior, but nobody comments on it.
"Let's head out Jungkook. See you later hyung!" Jimin calls out as he opens the door. Seokjin waves goodbye as the two enter the street. Jungkook glances over at Jimin.
"Will you tell me what happened back there? Did it have something to do with the two people at the counter?"
Jimin just gives Jungkook a warm smile. "I'll tell you soon okay? For now, just let me figure some things out." Jimin replies as they head back towards home. What a day.
---
"Hey Namjoon. Can you come over here for a second?" Jimin calls out. Yoongi glances over at him in confusion from where he is resting on the counter.
It's been several days after the almost Jungkook incident. Jimin has been talking to Taehyung everyday since then, and the more he gets to know the younger, the more he really wants Jungkook and him to meet. They both deserve happiness. Jimin wants them to meet and discover it on their own.
Today, fortunately, Namjoon has come to the cafe alone. This is the perfect time to address the issue at hand. The fact that Namjoon is Jungkook's worst enemy.
Namjoon glances up from his laptop and gives Jimin a slightly confused nod, rising up from his chair to head over to the counter. Yoongi is standing behind Jimin watching on with curiosity. Jimin may want Taehyung and Jungkook to to find out about each other without him saying anything, but he definitely wants to put his foot down when it comes to Namjoon.
Not saying that Namjoon is a bad guy, but there is a reason he is the enemy of Jungkook. Jimin wants to find out what that reason is before he throws them together.
"What's wrong Jimin?"
Jimin sighs and he stands up a little straighter. To seem more intimidating. He hears Yoongi let out a small scoff behind him. "I'm going to tell you something. Something you probably don't want to know. I have a friend named Jungkook. He is the guy who came in earlier that hid in the backroom out of shyness. Except he didn't go back there out of shyness, I sent him back there. Want to know why? Because you and him have the same enemy tattoo." Jimin finishes his slight rant with a huff. Yoongi releases a slow whistle in surprise followed by a chuckle.
Jimin whips his head around. "Shut it for a second will ya?" He growls out. Yoongi just smirks but makes a show of locking his lips in place and throwing out the key.
Turning back to Namjoon, Jimin notices the surprised expression on his face. "Wait. That kid is my enemy? How do you know?" He questions.
"Because you and him have the same arrow tattoo! And Taehyung and him have the same sun tattoo. You already met your soulmate, so that means you and him are enemies!" Jimin argues. He is too caught up in his speech to notice the smile blooming across Namjoon's face.
"Wait. Backtrack for a second. Taehyung and Jungkook are soulmates? Taehyung has a soulmate?" He questions. The smile growing bigger and bigger. "Oh my god. This is one of my happiest moments, you don't understand. We were so scared his soulmate was the one that died. And you're telling me his soulmate is your best friend?" He finishes while laughing. Pure joy spreading across his face. Jimin and Yoongi can't help but smile along as well.
The smile slips a little of Jimin's face. "But he is also your enemy Namjoon. I don't know why though. I feel like you guys would be great friends."
Namjoon seems to sober up at the thought. "I don't care that the kid's my enemy. I want what's best for Taehyung."
Jimin gives a small smile. "I want what's best for the both of them as well."
Namjoon nods along. "I'm willing to keep this this part a secret until after Taehyung and Jungkook have been soulmates for awhile. He seemed like a nice kid when he walked in. I don't want us getting off on the wrong foot by being like hey my name is Namjoon and I'm your enemy, but by best friend is your soulmate."
Jimin chuckles in agreement. "You'll have to tell him eventually. Maybe if you guys interact though, we can see how you both are enemies. Not all enemies hate each other. Some are just rivals."
"Yeah let's hope."
Yoongi slides up to the counter next to Jimin then, close enough that if Jimin moves just slightly, he would be pressed up to the man. "Sounds like you guys have some work to do. It seems easy though. Just put them in the same room long enough. They'll be on each other quick." He chuckles out. Jimin starts to squirm at the close proximity, a blush slowly rising on his face. Namjoon notices and lifts a eyebrow in question with a slow smirk rising on his face. He glances down at both of their wrists to see that they are covered and his eyes jump back up in question. He leans on the counter with his smirk spreading.
"I'm curious. What's your guy's tattoos look like? Their always covered when I come in here."
Jimin panics. "It's a really long and weird story. I haven't found my soulmate yet. Or enemy." He quickly adds on at the
end. The blush now traveling to his ears.
Yoongi speaks up from beside him. "I would describe my situation the same as Jimin's actually."
Jimin glances over in surprise at the man to see Yoongi with a calm expression, but his eyes glance over to meet his for a quick moment.
Namjoon just scoffs at the two of them as he turns to head back to his table. "You both seem a little hopeless, but I'm glad I planted an idea in your mind."
Yoongi doesn't move after Namjoon has left. Jimin can see him looking at his wrists, and then glancing over at Jimin's.
Jimin freezes up. Is it happening? Are they going to reveal their tattoos to each other? Just when Yoongi reaches with one arm to grab his sleeve, Seokjin walks in, breaking them both out of their trance as they spring apart.
Jimin's blush deepens and he glances towards the door. Only to see Seokjin holding the hand of some stranger. No doubt Hoseok.
"Jimin! I would like you to meet my soulmate, Hoseok!" Seokjin calls out as they head towards where the two employees are standing. Jimin offers a kind smile, slightly disappointed at the timing.
"Hello Jimin! Seokjin has told me lots about the new cutie behind the register. He certainly didn't exaggerate," Hoseok greets while giving a wink.
Jimin can only describe Hoseok as confident. They way he carries himself and the way he speaks shows that, but his smile that he flashes towards Jimin outshines the sun. The smile doubles in size when he sees Yoongi standing behind Jimin.
"Yoon-Yoon! I've missed you!" He screeches as he practically launches himself over the counter to give Yoongi a big hug. Jimin is taken aback by the enthusiasm, but quickly feels a smile spreading across his face at their friendship. Yoongi reluctantly wraps his arms around Hoseok, returning the hug.
"I've missed you too Seok-Seok." Yoongi replies with a soft smile. Jimin glances over at Seokjin to see him give the duo a big smile.
"Wow Yoongi you never great me like this whenever I come and relieve you from work," Seokjin cackles as he grabs his apron from behind the counter. Hoseok releases himself from Yoongi and grins over at Jimin.
"I actually only came to greet Jimin today. Both Seokjin and Yoongi have been telling me all about you. I have work real quick, but I wanted to get your number so if you have any questions about our dear Yoongi here, I would be happy to answer." He finishes with a laugh. Yoongi flushes a pretty pink while slapping Hoseok on the arm.
"I did no such thing!" Yoongi complains. Both Hoseok and Seokjin are laughing at this point, their unique laughs mixing in the air. Jimin feels a small smile slip onto his face.
"You know you are a terrible liar Yoongi," Hoseok retorts while grabbing his phone, handing it over to Jimin so that he can add his number. Jimin quickly types it in and hands the phone back. Hoseok flashes a smile and walks over to Seokjin, giving him a long, slightly inappropriate, kiss. Jimin turns away with a blush.
"See you later! I'll text you Jimin!" Hoseok calls as he leaves out the front door. Jimin can see Namjoon smiling from his seat at his table. Seokjin sates out the door until he can't see Hoseok anymore and Yoongi seems to be looking anywhere except Jimin.
"You can leave now Yoongi. Jimin and I got it from here," Seokjin explains. Yoongi justs nods his head, but seems to hesitate. They both stare at him in confusion before he suddenly walks up to Jimin.
"I think it's only fair that I get your number too because, I mean, we are coworkers. And something could go wrong or--"
"I'll give you my number Yoongi." Jimin giggles with an outstretched hand. Yoongi nods once and hands over his phone. Jimin quickly types his number in and changes his contact name to 'Jiminie'.
With a blush finally dying down on his face, he hands the phone back over. Yoongi stares at him for a second, his eyes glancing to his lips briefly, before he just turns and leaves right out the front door. Apron and all.
Seokjin cackles from beside Jimin. "His whole personality just screams chaotic mess."
Jimin just releases a slight laugh, trying to wrap his head around over what just happened. When he does, he quickly turns to Seokjin. "Hyung. How would you like to help me set up two individuals who don't know they are soulmates yet?"
Seokjin's face radiates pure glee. "Why of course."

"Jungkookie do you want to grab the milk for me?" Jimin questions as he continues stirring the stew. They are treating themselves tonight and having food with actual substance instead of ramen. Courtesy of Jimin's paycheck.
"No problemo," he replies while setting down the knife he is using to chop the vegetables. Jimin hears the fridge open from behind him and then sees the milk jug being places on the counter next to him.
"Thank you," Jimin sings, holding the last note. Silence falls over the roommates until he hears Jungkook chuckle from beside him.
"What's better than this? Guys being dudes."
Jimin grabs an empty spoon from the counter and smacks Jungkook with it. "When will you stop spouting vine quotes to me?"
The younger just chuckles. "Probably never. I'm a meme. No printer, just fax."
Jimin rolls his eyes, but smiles ass the same. "Hey," he calls out, slightly nervous. "I was wondering if you wanted to come to the cafe tomorrow with me?"
Jungkook stops his chopping of the vegetables and glances over at Jimin. "I thought tomorrow was your day off?" He questions. Before Jimin can explain he wants him to meet Taehyung, which giving away that they are soulmates, Jungkook's face morphs into a sly grin. "Ah I see. You want to go because Yoongi hyung will be working. Can't go a day without him can yeah?" He finishes with a giggle.
He glances over towards Jimin to see a slow blush painting the elder's cheeks. "So what if I want to see him? You're coming with me. You have no choice in the matter." Jimin huffs out. The main reason is to have Taehyung and Jungkook meet, but a small part of him is excited to see Yoongi again.
Something is happening between the two of them. Something hopefully for the best.
Jungkook sobers up suddenly. "Hey Chim Chim? Are you and Yoongi going to show each other you tattoos eventually?" He questions with a concerned look. Jimin stares down at the stew. Not wanting to meet his best friend's eyes.
"I'm fucking terrified Kook."
Jungkook just hums in agreement, but continues to stare at the elder.
"I feel like he could be my soulmate. And my enemy. Does that make sense?" Jimin questions with a sigh. "We have this huge rivalry at work and are constantly trying to one up each other, but at the same time, I feel something deeper through all of it. I feel an excitement I've never had with anyone else." He continues while taking the stew off the stove to cool slightly. Jungkook brushes the vegetable into the stew off the chopping board.
"But I am terrified. What if our tattoos are different and he goes back to ignoring me? It'll change what we've establishes so far." He sighs while rubbing his face with his hands, leaning against the counter slightly.
He feels a hand grab his shoulder and pull him against a broad chest, into a hug. "Hyung. That's the fear talking. If what you say is true, he could have the same tattoos as you. You could brush past this unnecessary pinning and skip to the good part. The regret of not doing it will eat you alive." Jungkook mumbles into the top of Jimin's hair as he lets go of him.
Jimin offers a small smile. "You're right. I guess I just actually have to find the courage to do it now."
Jungkook just smiles, but Jimin reaches up to ruffle his hair. "Who knew my little Jungkookie could be so wise." He giggles. The younger just swats his hand away.
"I'm always overflowing with wisdom," he laughs. The two break into laughs as they get their dinner ready, a happy atmosphere replacing the somber one.
----
The chime above them signals their arrival. Jimin takes a quick glance around the cafe.
Good. Namjoon hasn't brought Taehyung yet.
Behind the register he spots Seokjin and Yoongi, working since there is a short line for coffee. Seokjin glances up and gives Jimin a knowing wink while Yoongi looks over and gives Jimin a small smile which he returns. Jungkook nudges his shoulder knowingly as the two step in line to order. Seokjin is the one at the register once it's their turn.
"Ten minutes," he says to the duo, mostly Jimin.
Jungkook angles his head in confusion. "Ten minutes till what?"
Seokjin just laughs. "Oh nothing," he replies while waving his hand. Jimin peers behind Seokjin to see Yoongi already staring at him. When their eyes meet, he gives Jimin a wink. He already knows of their plan. Everyone knows except the two sun tattooed soulmates.
"Just our favorites today hyung. I'm paying," Jimin orders while moving his card across the counter. An unconscious force of habit he picked up, so that his wrists never show. Seokjin gives him a wink and turns to start one of the orders while Yoongi does the other. Soon enough their coffees are ready and they grab a seat by the counter, so they could continue talking to the two behind it. Jimin keeps on stealing glances towards the door, wondering where the two are at.
After awhile, he glances towards the door again to see it swing open, revealing Namjoon and Taehyung. They both glance around the cafe before Taehyung's eyes narrow on Jungkook's form sitting by the counter. He nervously tugs at the ends of his sleeves while following Namjoon into the cafe, his eyes never straying far from Jungkook.
"What a coincidence you guys are here as well!" Namjoon calls out with a little over the top enthusiasm. Jimin internally groans and forces out a natural smile.
"I guess it is! Pull up some chairs and sit with us," Jimin replies as he gestures to the open spaces on Jungkook's side. Namjoon takes the one at the far end, forcing Taehyung to sit right next to Jungkook. Jimin can see out of the corner of his eye Jungkook glance up at Taehyung and then drop his head down to hide himself. Jimin chuckles quietly, but Jungkook still hears him so he jabs his elbow into Jimin's side.
He decides it's time to speak up. "Taehyung. Namjoon. This is my best friend Jungkook," he introduces. Jungkook bows his head slightly, but avoids making eye contact.
"Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit." Jimin panics in his head. How could he forget? Namjoon is Taehyung's best friend. Meaning, Taehyung knows what Namjoon's enemy tattoo looks like as well. Even if they agreed to keep that part a secret for now, Taehyung will still see his other tattoo today and figure it out.
"I guess everything's going to go down today," he mutters to himself. Jimin quickly takes out his phone and shoots Namjoon a text explaining the situation. He then looks over and makes eye contact with him, motioning to his phone. Namjoon picks his up and discreetly reads the text, his eyebrows furrowing.
"I can't believe we forgot that part," he mouths. Jimin just shrugs.
Idle chat flows between the six. Seokjin mostly talks about Hoseok as usual, not that Jimin minds. They really are the definition of soulmate goals. He can see Taehyung and Jungkook mostly talking to each other, shy smiles on their faces. The four who know of the situation keep glancing at the two, waiting to see if it was ever going to happen. Taehyung suddenly sits up straighter.
"I have a test due online tonight that I need to submit! Oh gosh I really need to go!" He exclaims while grabbing his things.
The four panic. This is not what should be happening. Jimin glances at Jungkook's face to see the smile drop from it.
"Oh for the love of God," Seokjin huffs out as he reaches across the counter, pulling back Jungkook's sleeve to reveal the arrow tattoo. Taehyung gasps at the sights of it.
"Hyung isn't that yo-"
"Whoops wrong one," Seokjin explains while pulling back the other sleeve to reveal the intricate golden sun tattoo. Taehyung freezes.
Jungkook rips his arms away from Seokjin. "Hyung what are you doing?" He questions while glancing over towards Taehyung. Only to see tears forming in his eyes. The first few escape and they roll down his face.
"Taehyung what's wrong?" Jungkook panics while framing Taehyung's face with his hands subconsciously. The tears start falling faster and a sob wracks through his body before he launches himself at Jungkook and buries his head into his shoulder. Jungkook grips tight, but stares at the rest in question. Namjoon slowly steps forward and pushes back the sleeve to Taehyung's arm, revealing the matching sun tattoo to Jungkook.
A shocked expression crosses his face before he breaks out into a huge smile and hugs the sobbing boy back. A sigh a relief passes through the group as the watch the two hug. A huge grin is plastered on Jimin's face as he watches his best friend find his soulmate. He glances over towards Yoongi to find him already smiling right back at Jimin. A faint blush paints his cheeks and he glances back towards the two that are slowly releasing each other from the hug.
Namjoon walks up to the two of them and places a hand on both of their shoulders. "How about we head over to a corner table and explain everything?" He questions while guiding them away from the other three. Jimin sinks back down into his chair and lets out a giant sigh.
"Everything worked out in the end," he chuckles. Suddenly remembering what happened, his eyes whip towards Seokjin.
"Hyung? I thought we agreed not to interfere like that?" He questions while crossing his arms.
Seokjin just shrugs. "I wasn't going to let your dumbass self let them walk out the door without discovering the tattoos. Hoseok is expecting a full report on what happened today and whenever he hears about soulmates finding each other he just gets in this really romantic mood," he finishes with a sigh.
Yoongi scoffs while leaning on the counter, closer to Jimin. "I don't need to hear about your guy's sex life okay?"
Seokjin flips a cleaning rag over his shoulder dramatically. "You're just jealous I have one," he retorts while walking away.
JImin looks over to where the trio are sitting to see Namjoon rolling down his sleeve to show his arrow tattoo. Taehyung and Jungkook are holding hands on top of the table, their sun tattoos seemingly flowing into one. It brings a smile onto Jimin's face as he looks away.
"What an exciting day huh?" Yoongi questions while turning to go back to work. He stops suddenly though. "Oh and Jiminie, I'll be closing with you tomorrow instead of Seokjin hyung. He has something in the evening and he requested to switch shifts."
Jimin nods in understanding, trying to contain his excitement. "Okay hyung. I'll see you tomorrow. It looks like those three are going to be a while so I'm going to just head back home," he explains while standing up.
"Bye Jiminie."
"Bye hyung."
----
It's a little odd working with Seokjin earlier than later, but the two still have a good time. Jimin recounts how Taehyung returned home to their apartment with Jungkook and the two spent the whole evening together, after they yelled at Jimin for not telling them sooner. Seokjin laughs along, and pretty soon, Yoongi is walking in to replace him.
"See you both later!" He calls out while leaving. Unfortunately for the duo the cafe is actually busy this evening, leaving them running around making orders without actually having a conversation between them. It's nearing closing time when their manager enters the cafe.
"Oh Jimin! Just the man I wanted to see! Congratulations on becoming employee of the month!" He cheers while replacing the photograph of Yoongi with Jimin's.
"Oh fuck," Jimin mutters underneath is breath. He can feel Yoongi freeze beside him.
"Continue the good work you too! Better luck next month Yoongi!" The manager calls out as he leaves again. The cafe is empty at this point and the two just stand there. Tension flowing between the two of them.
"Just when we were starting to get along too," Jimin thinks in head. He slowly turns towards Yoongi to see him glaring at the him.
"Did you just steal employee of the month from me?"
"No! No!" Jimin exclaims. "I mean I tried at first to win it from you, but then we sorta became friends and I forgot about it up until now!" Jimin tries to hastily explain.
"Were you trying to get close to me so I would let my guard down?" Yoongi questions while stalking closer. Jimin slowly backs up until he hits the back counter by the coffee machines, several recently discarded coffees lying around because Jimin was experimenting with making several of them.
He places his hands on the counter and leans back as Yoongi get closer. "Of course not hyung! My only goal was to get your attention!" Jimin argues, a blush spreading all across his face over the look on Yoongi's face.
Yoongi cages Jimin against the counter. "Are you sure about that Jiminie? I don't think you are as innocent as you make yourself out to be?" He questions with a smirk. Jimin's blush deepens across his face. He can't handle the close proximity. In a haste to try and get away, Jimin slides his hands backwards too quickly, knocking over hot coffee onto his hand and arm.
"Ahh!" Jimin screams while ripping his hand away. Yoongi's face instantly morphs into a concerned one as he reaches for Jimin's whole arm.
"You need to cool this off. Here, quickly pull this up." Yoongi hastily explains as he rips Jimin's sleeve up his arm, only to freeze at the sight before him.
Jimin, too caught up in the pain to realize his tattoo was just revealed to Yoongi, rips his arm away and rushes towards where they keep the ice, taking some and wrapping it in a cloth to press against his hand. He turns back towards Yoongi to see him still froze, but staring at Jimin.
"What?" Jimin huffs out. The pain disappearing because of the ice.
"Your tattoo," he nearly whispers. Jimin glances down to see his black koi fish tattoo glaring right back at him. No point in trying to hide it now.
"Yeah. And I have the same exact one of the other side," he states while rolling that sleeve up as well. He braces himself for the rejection of Yoongi's tattoos being different as he slowly walks closer to Jimin. Fear takes over him and he closes his eyes, not able to bear it any longer. He can feel Yoongi standing right in front of him.
"Jiminie. Open your eyes."
And Jimin does open his eyes.
He opens his eyes to see two matching black koi fish tattoos residing on Yoongi's pale wrists.
Jimin just stares. A range of emotions flowing through his body. The four black koi fish tattoos stare back at him as he glances between his and Yoongi's wrists, not comprehending what is happening.
"Jiminie," Yoongi calls out softly, "we are soulmates." He finishes while stepping closer and grabbing Jimin's wrists carefully, trying to give Jimin as much time he needed for it to sink in.
"And apparently enemies," he chuckles while running his thumbs over Jimin's tattoos. Silence stretches between them. "Jiminie, will you look at me?"
It takes a moment, but Jimin slowly raises his head to reveal a blinding smile on his face. His eyes are glossy with unshed tears. "I found you," he breathes out while drawing even closer and wrapping himself in his embrace.
He can hear Yoongi scoff into his hair. "I was already here."
The two embrace for a while, caught up in the feeling of finding you other half. It comes crashing down when he feels Yoongi stiffen against him.
"You little demon. This doesn't change the fact you stole my employee of the month spot," he hears Yoongi growl in his ear. "Only to get my attention too and to have everybody sing your praises," he mutters out while grabbing Jimin's waist and pulling far enough away to look him in the eyes.
"Do you have a praise kink?"
Jimin instantly feels a blush spreading across his cheeks as he sputters out his reply. "Of c-course not! I have no idea what you're talking about," he finishes with a pout, trying to ignore the heat spreading across his body over the talk of kinks. Yoongi just smirks as he lets Jimin go and strides over to the entrance and locks it. The lock making a definite sound across the quiet cafe. He slowly turns back to face Jimin with a near predator look on his face.
"I think you lying to me," his voice dropping an octave, "I don't like being lied too." He growls while stalking closer to where Jimin stands.
Oh Jimin likes where this is going.
Jimin smirks. "I didn't know you were in charge today?"
Yoongi's eyes light up at Jimin playing along. "I'm always in charge baby."
"Oh we'll see about that," Jimin retorts. Tension fills the air as neither of them move. Both on opposite sides of the cafe. Jimin glances at the break room door and then back at Yoongi. Without even hesitating, he runs for the door and whips it open, trying to get inside and close it as fact as he can. He hears Yoongi chasing after him as he slides into the room and tries to close the door, only to have Yoongi stop him by sticking half of his body inside. A breathless giggle escapes his lips at the site of Yoongi trying to grab him. Eventually Jimin's laughing becomes too much and his arms give out, allowing Yoongi to break through and pounce on him. Effectively pinning him against the wall.
Jimin lets out a squeak in surprise, but stares up at Yoongi with a cheeky smile on his face. Yoongi's eyes narrow, but his lips smirk at the sight of Jimin's smile. He leans in close to Jimin, breath fanning across each other's faces.
"Did you honestly think you could run from me baby?" He whispers as he seals their lips together.
JImin whimpers into the kiss. The heat that passes between them is intoxicating. There is nothing soft or fragile about it. The kiss is only full of pent up tension from over the weeks. The urgency breaking through.
Their lips slide together effortlessly as Yoongi presses up against Jimin, pushing a leg between his thighs. Jimin's mouth parts with a gasp and Yoongi licks inside desperately.
As the kiss deepens, Jimin reaches around Yoongi and rips the knots in his apron, pulling the thing over his head. "We don't need these," he rushes out while pushing Yoongi back slightly and ripping his over his head as well. Yoongi is on him again in an instant, the leg back between his thighs. Yoongi licks across the roof of Jimin's mouth, then gently biting his plump bottom lip with his teeth. Both of their skin is flushes and breathing erratic. As Yoongi dives back into the kiss, Jimin lowers himself of Yoongi's leg and starts to slowly grind down.
The kiss isn't even classified as a kiss anymore. Both are just gasping into each other's mouths at friction down below.
Yoongi roughly grabs Jimin's hips and starts moving him faster against his leg. Jimin moans loudly and closes his eyes from the pleasure, tilting his head back. Yoongi leans down and begins to suck at every available inch of skin along his neck. Jimin thrashes at the pleasure coursing through him. It's too much.
"Y-yoongi p-please!" He screams out.
Yoongi stops moving altogether. "Hmm what was that baby? I don't understand what you're asking. You'll have to properly tell me," he murmurs into the base of Jimin's neck.
"No! P-please don't stop! I n-need you!" He stutters out while thrashing, trying to get some of the friction from before. He can feel Yoongi smiling against his neck.
"You'll have to be more specific baby."
Jimin reaches down and grabs Yoongi's jaw, smashing their lips together in a heated kiss. "Please fuck me," he begs into the kiss. Yoongi groans at this, his hands tightening on Jimin's waist as he grabs him and practically carries him over the the table in the middle of the room. He lifts Jimin up and sets him down, pouncing again right on him. Before Jimin can say anything, Yoongi speaks up.
"These clothes need to go," he growls out as he starts stripping them both. He leaves them in their underwear and nothing else. Jimin thinks he is going to dive back down, but Yoongi rests himself on Jimin's thighs and marvels at the sight under him. Jimin takes time to reach up and run his hand up Yoongi's torso, the elder shuddering at the skin on skin touch. His fingers brush against a nipple and Yoongi moans slightly. This seems to trigger something in Yoongi and he leans back down and bites Jimin at the base of his throat.
"Mine," he breathes hot against Jimin's rushed pulse. His head slowly leaves his neck and begins to kiss down Jimin's chest, stopping to suck harshly against each nipple in the process. Jimin's back arches as he cries out in pleasure. Yoongi moves lower with his kissing and sucking as he spreads Jimin's thighs.
"Fuck, fucking wait," he growls as he jumps up and looks around. Jimin's eyes are only opened as slits as he watches the older grab his bad and reach around for something. He emerges victorious with a small bottle of lube as he throws his bag across the room in a hurry. He doesn't move back into position though. He stands at the end of the table and grabs Jimin's ankles, pulling him towards Yoongi. Jimin lets out a squeak at the sudden movement, but starts to squirm as he watches Yoongi coat three fingers full of lube. Yoongi's other hand slides down Jimin's chest, and them begins to stroke Jimin's half-hard cock as his first finger brushes lightly against the tight ring of muscles, before it pushes in slowly.
Jimin is a moaning mess at this point. The pain and pleasure too much as Yoongi continues to jerk him while adding more fingers and scissoring them to stretch him.
The sound of Yoongi's lube-covered fingers squelching in and out of Jimin's hole is obscene. He is a gasping mess as his back arches once Yoongi finds his prostate.
"Y-your fingers. S-so good, so good...please....ahhhh!"
Yoongi pulls his fingers out and slicks up his aching cock, moaning at the feeling of finally being touched. "Turn around for me baby."
Jimin nods frantically and flips over, presenting his ass to Yoongi.
Yoongi slowly begins to push his cock into Jimin's tight heat. "J-jesus Jiminie. Your ass is heaven," Yoongi moans at the feeling of being squeezed from all around.
Jimin turns his head slightly and looks over his shoulder. "Then you should be worshiping it hyung."
Yoongi smirks. "Getting cheeky are we? Well we can't have that," he moans as he slaps Jimin's ass.
Jimin yelps at the sensation and tightens around Yoongi. Both moan out at the sensation. Pleasure flows through Yoongi's body at the same time his cock sinks fully into Jimin.
As Yoongi begins to thrust slowly, Jimin moans out and tries to move his ass back against his cock. "Come on hyung," he whines while grinding his hips backwards, "I can take it."
With a grunt, Yoongi obeys and begins pounding into Jimin faster, thrusting deep into him.
"Y-Yoongi," Jimin practically sobs, his face rocking back and forth against the table from the force of the thrusts, "s-so good."
Yoongi groans. "You feel amazing baby. So tight for me. S-so good."
Jimin whines loudly and Yoongi picks up the pace, both trying to find their release. Yoongi abruptly stops and flips Jimin over, before sinking back in. The heat inside Jimin builds and builds. His whole body tightens as his release hits, come shooting between their two bodies. Yoongi leans down and he slams in Jimin, attempting to kiss him as he chases his release. Pure pleasure flows through Yoongi as he spills inside Jimin, filling him up completely. He collapses on top of the younger in exhaustion, the two breathing out heavily in bliss.
Yoongi can feel the chuckle escape from Jimin's chest. "I can't believe we just had sex where we work," he continues to giggle. Yoongi smiles and leans up to place a kiss on Jimin's jaw.
"How about we just don't tell anyone, and continue this back at my place hmm?" Yoongi questions with a grin. A smile spreads across Jimin's face as he hugs his soulmate, and enemy, against his chest.
"Clean me up first and we can do whatever you want big boy," Jimin giggles as he reaches down and lightly slaps Yoongi's ass. Yoongi just huffs by his neck.
"Anything for you baby."

"So you're telling me that the reason Namjoon and Jungkookie are enemies is because Jungkook always tries to be the very best and everything, and Namjoon is effortlessly better without even trying so Jungkook is always trying to take him down?" Seokjin questions with a laugh as he sinks down into the couch and curls up against Hoseok. Jimin glances at them with a smile.
"Yep! It's actually really funny to watch sometimes. At least Taehyung and I think so. I think Taehyung doesn't care as long as they don't hate each other. " Jimin finishes explaining as he reaches over and grabs his drink off of Seokjin and Hoseok's coffee table.
After the whole mess of finding soulmates and enemies died down, the seven (sometimes eight if Namjoon's soulmate could get off work) started hanging out with each other more often. Most hang outs were spent either watching movies at one of their apartments or going out to eat. Tonight is a movie night and Jimin, Seokjin and Hoseok wait for the others to show up.
"And you're really lucky as well to have Yoongi as your soulmate and enemy all wrapped up into one. The only thing remotely 'enemy' like about you two is that you are always fighting over the employee of the month spot, tease each other endlessly, and you turn a lot of things into your own competition. Other than that, all I see is love." Hoseok adds to the conversation while wrapping an arm around Seokjin's waist.
"We also compete over who gets to top in bed, but he normally ends up winning." Jimin says with a smirk from his spot on the loveseat. The couple on the couch sputter at his words and Hoseok shoots him a wink.
"You're nasty Jimin!" Seokjin cries out while Jimin just shrugs. It's a known fact that Jimin isn't as innocent as he seems.
Hoseok straightens slightly. "No, but seriously Jimin, I'm happy that the people who found their enemies didn't actually end up hating each other like I did with mine."
Seokjin rubs Hoseok's leg reassuringly.
"Who is your enemy Hoseok?" Jimin questions hesitantly.
A small smile reaches Hoseok's face. "My own mother."
Jimin gasps slightly at the reveal. His own mother is his enemy? "What happened?"
Hoseok just smiles. "Don't look so down Jimin! I've come to terms with it. My mom had me when she was really young with a guy she was obsessed with at the time. He didn't want a kid, so he ran away and left her. Once she saw my tattoo I guess she just decided right then and there she was never going to love me. She was verbally abusive growing up and eventually it became too much one night after her drinking. I ran away without ever looking back." He explains. Jimin frowns, but Hoseok waves his hand to dismiss it.
"If I didn't run away that night, I would've never met Seokjin on the street where he found me. In the end I met my soulmate, so I'm fine." He adds while kissing Seokjin on the top of the head. The two look like they are utterly blissful, and Jimin wonders if that's what him and Yoongi look like as well.
Speaking of Yoongi, he should be arriving soon with the others. They went out and bought the rest of the food. Nobody around here really knows how to cook that well, so chips and dip it is.
Jimin feels a smile spread across his face as he hears the door open and hears the excited chatter of Taehyung and Jungkook talking about the new movie they are watching tonight. The four newcomers enter the living room and practically spill all of the food on the table, a free for all of people trying to grab the best snacks.
Jimin sees Yoongi rip his favorite cinnamon crisps out of Jungkook's hands and brings them over to where Jimin is sitting to hand them to him with a smile. Jimin pats the space next to him and Yoongi sits down, only to practically have a lap full of Jimin right after as he gets comfortable.
Jimin leans up to give Yoongi a needy kiss while the others are distracted. He nibbles slightly at his bottom lips and he hears Yoongi lightly groan while sliding a hand up to his waist and squeezing him in warning.
"Stop baby. You're in dangerous waters here." Yoongi quietly growls out into his ear. Jimin giggles at how easily Yoongi is affected by him.
"Lovebirds! We're about to watch a movie here and I would like for you to both stop sucking face and shut up!" Jungkook yells from his spot on the ground leaning against Taehyung.
"What a fucking brat." Yoongi mutters loud enough for him to hear. The youngest smirks, but turns back to the TV that has the movie starting.
Jimin makes eye contact with Yoongi and they both give each other smiles full of love before they turn towards the TV.
He feels the friendship between everyone in the room, and he feels the love from Yoongi as his hands wrap around his waist while he gives a quick kiss to his cheek. Jimin doesn't think it could ever get better than this.
--- The end ---
