Work Text:
“Jimin.”
“Taehyung.”
Taehyung sends a glare Jimin’s way. He smiles innocently up at Taehyung from his lying position on the couch. Or rather, what he thinks is a glare. Taehyung, Jimin has found fairly quickly on in their relationship, is not a very good glarer. The intent is here, and he has the means to do it (those eyebrows are something to behold) but Taehyung is too soft.
Especially when it comes to Jimin.
“It’s your turn to do the dishes,” Taehyung points out, crossing his arms. Jimin is well aware of that and he will get to it soon enough but, to be honest, he likes this part. He likes watching Taehyung whine for show, pretend to be mad. They both love the bickering. Jimin likes ogling his husband as he nags.
He’s got a nagging husband. The thrill of it is only that much sweeter for the fact that said husband is Taehyung.
“Is it?” he frowns pretending to peer around Taehyung to catch a glimpse of the board pinned to the one of the walls in the kitchen. They live in a loft; everything is open and everything is connected. Everything is big and there is so much light. Jimin loves it.
He can’t actually see the board from the couch (their boring beige couch that Jimin chose because everything else in the room is a colorful statement) but he still makes a show of stretching.
Taehyung huffs and Jimin makes a valid effort trying to hide his smile.
“It is. I did the dishes yesterday because yesterday was Monday, my dishes day. Your dishes day is Tuesday,” Taehyung strides to the Anne Geddes calendar hanging next to mirror in the entry and points, rather aggressively, at today’s box.
(There are a few annotations, colourful post-its, a few doodles. Today, Jimin is supposed to take Yeontan to the vet while Taehyung goes to their assurance company to renew their yearly contract. There’s a kiss drawn by Taehyung’s hand on the 16th; anniversary of their first kiss.)
“Today,” Taehyung says tapping the calendar, “is Tuesday. Jimin’s turn to do the dishes.”
“I never thought I’d see the day where you’d use my own organizing skills against me,” Jimin pouts.
“You’ve been skirting your duties for too long.”
Jimin laughs. “Cute,” he says.
“Jimin!”
“Alright, alright! God! If I knew I was signing up for this when you asked me to marry you, I’d have never said yes,” Jimin complains, as he gets back to his feet. It’s all for show, of course. There’s nothing he loves more than this. Taehyung and him, being grossly domestic and together. Living.
He stops in front of Taehyung on his way to the kitchen and kisses his pout away. “My favorite husband,” Jimin smiles when he pulls away.
“You’re only husband.”
“Still my favorite.”
Taehyung grins bright and warm. “You’re okay.”
He yelps when Jimin goes for a smack to the stomach.
“Eat my ass,” Jimin glares. He’s a lot better at it than Taehyung.
“I’d like that, actually,” Taehyung wiggles his eyebrows and it’s ridiculous, really it shouldn’t be attractive or enticing in the slightest and yet.
Jimin stops and tilts his head sideways. There’s a beatt where they just look at each other, Taehyung’s teasing expression dropping off his face, replaced by something darker. A thrill goes through Jimin and, really, it shouldn’t surprise him anymore, how attuned they are to each other’s mood. Yet, he still is. It still feels new and exciting, even with years of familiarity behind them.
Taehyung’s eyes sparkle as he leans slowly down, eyes locked intensely with Jimin’s. He stops a breath away from Jimin’s lips, so close, so beautiful that he still takes Jimin’s breath away.
Jimin smiles before pushing to his tip toes and wrapping his arms around his husband’s shoulders, but staying out of reach. He nuzzles Taehyung’s nose, because two can play that game and he knows Taehyung loves it as much as he does.
“Husband of mine,” he whispers.
“That’s me,” Taehyung replies trying to chase his lips and laughing when Jimin leans back.
“Ah ah, it’s your ass I’m after,” Jimin scolds softly.
“Well then,” and Taehyung bends down until his shoulders is against Jimin’s abdomen. When he straightens back up, he got Jimin thrown over his shoulder. Jimin’s squeak sounds more breathless than indignant. “Let’s go eat some ass!” Taehyung declares before smacking Jimin’s ass and leading him to their bed.
*
“Mdlrghhhhhpffff,” Taehyung mumbles. He brings a hand to his face and wipe away tears. Jimin is feeling particularly proud of himself.
“Sorry, I didn’t quite catch that,” he says and he sits back on his ankles. They’re both spent and more than a little sticky. Jimin adores the sight of Taehyung sprawled across their bed, all soft and red. Sinful and yet so warm and so cute.
They’re still in the honeymoon stage, even if they’ve been together for years. They’ve only been married for six months though and it’s been hard to keep their hands to each other. Marriage must be some kind of aphrodisiac, Jimin reckons.
“Fuck you,” Taehyung says opening his arms beckoningly. “Come cuddle.”
“Ew,” Jimin complains before rolling off the bed and heading for the bathroom. He comes back with a wet towel and efficiently cleans them up. “This will have to do until we shower,” he sighs as he stretches himself over Taehyung’s pliant form. He plants his chin on Taehyung’s chest, right next to the blooming bruises his mouth left just a few minutes ago.
“Hi,” he grins.
Taehyung’s smile is slow, lazy and so intimate Jimin’s toes curl. “Husband of mine,” he echoes Jimin’s words and Jimin laughs, feeling a little shy and very much enamored.
“I can’t believe you cried,” Jimin teases.
Taehyung groans. “I’m not about to feed your greedy ego, you praise whore,” he says.
Jimin laughs, before pouting. “But I love it. You know I’ve worked really hard to acquire these particular skills.”
Taehyung cards his hand through Jimin’s hair. “I’m very appreciative and grateful. 10/10 would offer my ass again.”
Jimin closes his eyes, sighing at the subtle scalp massage Taehyung is providing. “Would eat again,” he promises, laying his head sideways.
They stay silent for a while, just breathing together and settling back into their own skin. Jimin cherishes these quiet moments between them, when their hearts slow and silence settles over them like a comforting blanket. Understanding and unity. Them, alone and so in love it feels like they could have the whole world if they wanted to.
Taehyung has always made Jimin feel like he could have it all.
Jimin, a greedy, needy little thing, has only settled into contentment when he met and loved Taehyung.
The whole world can wait, he’s got his husband.
“Actually, you do deserve the praise,” Taehyung muses out loud, a quick infinity later. Jimin raises his head and Taehyung’s hand glides down to cup his cheek. Jimin leans into the touch but quirks an eyebrow at Taehyung in question. “For the ass eating. Not many people know how to do it right.”
Jimin laughs. “Why, thank you. You’re good at it too.”
“Mhm, I know,” he smirks and Jimin leans over to bite his collarbone. Taehyung only laughs harder.
“I’m serious though. There’s only two people I would entrust my beautiful rear to; you and the stranger of that one party in college.”
Jimin frowns. “I don’t think I know this story.”
Taehyung chuckles low and warm. “I actually haven’t thought about it in years.”
A moment of silence before Jimin pinches Taehyung’s side.
“OW!”
“Tell me,” Jimin demands.
“Unbelievable! You’re so impatient.”
“You knew what you got into when you married me.”
“I was young and foolish,” Taehyung sighs. Jimin holds his pinching fingers up threateningly. “Fine! God, what a menace!”
Jimin smiles contently and settles in to listen to the story.
“The year was 2015. Freshman year, Yoongi had dragged me to this party because we were both stressed about upcoming exams and we kept squabbling. So he thought we needed a night out to relax and forget about our worries.”
“You got drunk?” Jimin asks with a fond smile.
“So drunk. It was my first time too. And you know me, I’m shit with alcohol and I turn…,” he hums searching for the right word.
“Affectionate,” Jimin supplies softly. Taehyung sends him a tender smile.
“Yeah. Anyways, the night is really blurry in my head but I remember dancing with someone, I remember kissing them and I remember how they made me see stars in the bathroom. I remember Namjoon pounding on the door, cursing us out. I remember passing out on the couch and waking up with sticky note on my forehead that said: thanks for memories!” Taehyung laughs, eyes hazy, lost in memories.
Jimin doesn’t say anything, can’t say anything because the story stirred something inside him. A distant memory, a really vague recollection, a long lost souvenir.
“2015?”
“Yeah, I remember it was early november and the guy had a burgundy beanie on the whole time. Can’t remember his name or his voice but I remember that.”
“And Namjoon and Yoongi were there?”
“Yes. If I remember correctly, it’s also the night Yoongi met Hoseok.”
Jimin’s eyes widen.
Taehyung stops talking.
“I’m the one who introduced them. At a party in 2015.” Jimin says, heart picking up speed again.
Taehyung’s jaw drops. “Shut up!”
“I used to have a burgundy beanie but I lost it,” Jimin says, a thrill going through him. Taehyung’s eyes go wide.
“I ate someone’s ass at a party once. I was drunk and I hadn’t gotten laid in a while and this stranger had hands. Big, beautiful hands.”
Taehyung slowly brings his hands and inspects them like it’s the first time he sees them.
“He whined so prettily when ate him out. I don’t remember his name or his voice but I remember the beautiful sounds he made.”
Taehyung, ridiculously, blushes.
“He was wearing a red sweater with tears at the collar.”
“I threw it away a few weeks before we met because I stained it with paint,” Taehyung breathes.
“You’re the stranger from the party?” Jimin asks, lips stretching into a beatific smile.
“You ate my ass at a party?” Taehyung whispers like he’s just been given the answer to every questions in the universe.
They look at each other, mirror shocked expressions on their faces before they break, laughing at the same time. They curl into each other and hold each other as they laugh and laugh and laugh.
“Oh my god!” Taehyung almost shouts.
“I married the one who got away,” Jimin giggles and it sends them into another fit of laughter.
“Wait until Yoongi hears about this, he’s going to be so disgusted,” Taehyung says, delight stretched over every line of his face.
Jimin pushes forward and kisses him. “Husband of mine, it’s like we were fated or something,” he says, elation laced in his tone.
“I can’t believe our red string of fate is your tongue in my ass,” Taehyung teases and Jimin scrunches his nose. Then he thinks about it and says,
“Actually, that’s pretty on brand for us.”
Taehyung nods. “Feels right, feels organic,” he acquiesces. He leans forward to kiss Jimin’s cheek. “I wonder if we’ve had other meet cutes.”
Jimin, horrified, says, “We are not telling this to the kids!”
“I don’t know, our first meeting was kind of boring compared to this.”
Jimin gapes. “How dare you! That’s my favorite memory you’re insulting.” Taehyung laughs and wraps himself fully, legs and arms, around him.
“My cute nerd dropping his books in a muddy puddle and cursing at the sky.”
Jimin smiles, happy. “I can still hear you laughing, you know?”
“I can still see you glaring at me for it,” Taehyung counters, voice fond and eyes sparkling.
“Every time it rains, I remember your smile.”
“Sap,” Taehyung complains with a pleased smile.
“You bring out the worst in me,” Jimin retorts.
“And yet you still married me.”
“I’m known for my poor judgment.”
“Well you eat people’s asses at parties, so yeah.”
“It was one ass and I ended up marrying its owner!”
That sends Taehyung laughing again and Jimin lets the sound of it wrap around his heart. Comforting, familiar and more dear than words could say.
“Hey! Does that mean we have another anniversary to celebrate?” Taehyung says suddenly.
“You would find any excuse to buy me gifts,” Jimin comments, pleased.
“Pfff, you love it.”
Jimin does.
“Okay, I’ll add it to the calendar,” he says and kisses Taehyung’s sternum.
Below them, Yeontan yaps. On the side table, Jimin’s phone vibrates. A client, probably. They look at each and together lean in for one last kiss before the day really starts.
“Love you, Beanie Guy.”
“Love you, too, Ass Guy.”
They don’t move quite yet. It’s alright, the world can wait for while longer.
