It's Our Secret, Angel Face

Summary:

Broken down and humiliated after her crushing defeat in the Sports Festival, Uraraka just wants to sleep off her injuries in the infirmary. She didn't expect to get a very loud and very angry roommate for the night.

(A Kacchako one shot that turned into a love story.)

Notes:

This was going to be a one-shot smut but then I got invested and here we are. Enjoy!

Chapter Text

When the rocks fell from the sky, all Uraraka saw was smoke. She was defeated, crushed under her own weapon, ruined by her own plan. Through dust-clouded vision, she blinked up. The last sight that greeted her before the darkness was a pair of smug, red eyes.

-x-

Uraraka woke up to screaming - violent, incoherent, ear-shattering screaming.

"I’m so sorry about this, dear.” A brittle, kind voice came from her side. As she got acclimated to her surroundings, she realized she was in the infirmary wing and that voice was Recovery Girl, standing to her left. To her right was the most bizarre scene she had witnessed since enrolling in UA.

Katsuki Bakugou, who just earlier that day had beaten Uraraka so badly in the Sports Festival that she had to recover in the infirmary, was being wrestled into the bed next to her, shouting muffled profanities through a muzzle.

“He just gets so worked up, you know.” Recovery Girl patted Uraraka’s head, which was covered in a thick bandage. “I think some rest will do that boy good. How are you feeling?”

Uraraka was too stunned to answer. Aizawa, All Might and Cementoss had forced Bakugo into the bed and handcuffed his arms to the bars on the side. Bakugou was bloodied and bruised and his hair was soaked in sweat. His costume was singed in places and his eyes were murderous.

"A mild sedative should do, Recovery Girl,” Aizawa said, ignoring the incoherent string of curses thrown his way.

"This is so unnecessary, young Bakugou.” All Might shook his head and sighed. “You won the tournament, you should be proud!”

Bakugou kicked his feet wildly in response.

“Maybe a little more than mild,” suggested Cementoss. Recovery Girl nodded and gave Uraraka one more pat before she left her side to tend to Bakugou. Uraraka knew it was rude to stare, but she couldn't rip her eyes away. After a brief struggle and a frighteningly large shot, Bakugou went limp.

“That should hold him for a while,” Recovery Girl announced. “Uraraka, my dear, I think you should stay here overnight. That one gave you some nasty injuries. You need to rest without interference.”

Uraraka nodded, casting a cautious glance at the now peaceful and silent Bakugou.

“I’m sorry, Uraraka,” Aizawa said. “This was the last room available for him. The infirmary is a popular place after the sports festival.”

“If he gives you any trouble at all, please do not hesitate to call for one of us.” All Might pointed to a phone on the stand next to Uraraka’s bed. “We will be able to come handle the situation.”

“He should…sleep through the night, right?” She asked tentatively, nervous.

“With what we gave him, it would be shocking if he didn’t,” Recovery Girl assured her with another gentle pat, this one to the arm. “I’ll be back in the morning to make sure everyone is healing well. I have a lot more rounds to make tonight. That Sports Festival is no good…children hurting themselves…no good at all…” she continued muttering to herself as she walked out the door.

“Right,” All Might looked embarrassed. “Well, I suppose we can take this off of him.” He removed the spit-covered muzzle from Bakugou’s mouth and gave it an uncomfortable grimace.

“We’ll leave the cuffs,” Cementoss promised, “Just in case.”

Uraraka nodded, still not quite sure if she was fully awake. Before the three left, she asked, “Did Bakugou win?”

“He won, but not on his own terms,” All Might explained. Aizawa looked like he wanted to roll his eyes, but was restraining for professional, and Cementoss just looked uncomfortable. “I’m sure you’ll hear all about it when your friends come to visit.”

“Tomorrow,” Aizawa said, and his voice was stern. “No visitors until after Recovery Girl has seen you tomorrow.”

“Yes, Sensei,” Uraraka whispered, and she was grateful for the restriction. She was way too tired for any visitors, especially when they were certain to be Midoriya and Iida. Their energy level could be overwhelming on a good day, but she could keep up when she was at her best. Now, she was so tired, and her body ached with ever micro-movement. Besides the pain, she wasn't sure she could face them right then. Her ego was wounded, and the tears that had dried were threatening to spill over again with Bakugou's presence. The sooner she got back to sleep, the sooner she could wake up and be away from the violent blonde lying in the room with her. She had been so close – so close to defeating him.

“Goodnight, Uraraka.” The three departed, and she was alone.

She sighed. In terms of sleeping arrangements, this was less than ideal. Uraraka had gone up against Bakugo in the late afternoon, and so she figured she had been sleeping for at least several hours. She didn’t know how long it had taken the rest of the festival to conclude, but it was dark outside now and she was wide awake.

“Ugh, this sucks,” she whined out loud. She shoved a pillow into her face and tried to think peaceful thoughts, but all she could think about was how ashamed she was of herself. She had concocted such a master plan to beat the unbeatable Bakugou. She had matched his power and she had almost come out victorious. How was he always one step ahead of everyone? A violent boy with a violent quirk, outdoing an entire class of heroes.

“I just want to be a hero,” she whispered to herself, as if saying it out loud would make it happen. "I just want to – "

“Will you shut it, Round Face?”

Uraraka gasped and shot up from her bed, immediately regretting it. A wave of dizziness hit her, and she fell back onto her pillow.

“Bakugou?” She breathed, confused at how he could possibly be speaking to her when she had watched him get heavily drugged just a short time ago. Maybe she was half-asleep still. "Bakugou, was that you?"

“Who else is here?" His voice came out in a huff. "Why are you talking so much? Can’t I fuckin’ sleep around here?”

“How are you…awake…?” She contemplated trying to sit up again, to see his face, but decided she was safer protected by her pillow.

“These drugs are weak shit.”

She blinked into the darkness. His willpower really was astounding. She knew the drugs were affecting him, because his words were slurred and because he hadn’t tried to blast the handcuffs off the bed yet, but the mere fact that he was awake after being injected with one of the biggest needles Uraraka had seen to date was impressive, and a little bit horrifying.

“Well, sorry, go to sleep then," she mumbled, wishing she had kept quiet and not alerted him that she was awake.

“The problem with that is that it’s really hard to sleep when you’re fuckin’ handcuffed.” Aggressive rattling filled the room, and she glanced over to see him shaking his bed in the low amount of light brought in by the moon. He didn’t look as terrifying as he usually did, restrained and beat up, and so obviously tired, but her breath still caught when he turned his crimson eyes on her. “Do you wanna maybe stop starin’ and get me out of these?”

Uraraka did not think that was a good idea. She wasn’t too keen on being alone in a dark room with a halfway-sedated, fully-homicidal teenager with an explosion quirk, especially when he was carrying what appeared to be several tons of pent up rage.

She thought fast. “I…don’t…have the key!” That was a great excuse. She couldn’t unlock the cuffs if she didn’t have a key.

“It’s in here somewhere,” he grunted. She could practically hear his eyes roll. “C’mon, Round Face, help me out.”

“I’ve got to be honest, Bakugou, I don’t really feel like helping you out after you almost killed me,” she tried for strong and indignant, but landed more on high-pitched.

Bakugou snorted and pulled on his handcuffs more. His voice was becoming less hazy. “I didn’t almost kill you; don't be so dramatic. I was saving the murder for the half-and-half bastard. I just had to get you out of the way.”

“Gee, that makes me feel so much better about this situation,” she snapped. She paused. “Did you succeed in murdering Todoroki?”

“I’ll let you answer that question yourself,” he said, his words dripping sarcasm.

“Why are you so angry anyway?" Now Uraraka was getting frustrated. She didn't get Bakugou – he was so nasty for no reason. He was smart, strong and had a wildly powerful quirk. By definition, he'd won the lottery of life, so why was he so angry all of the time? It made no sense. "You won. You’re on top.”

Bakugou growled. “That bastard didn’t give me his all. He wouldn’t use his goddamn fire on me and that shit pisses me off. He used it on Deku of all fuckin' people, so why not me? I don’t like to win the easy way.”

“I really think you would benefit from some therapy.”

“Just for that, next time I will try to kill you.”

Now it was Uraraka’s time to roll her eyes, and she even smiled a little, because she was pretty sure he was making an actual joke. Bakugou wasn’t so scary when he wasn't screaming. She stayed silent after that, trying her best to ignore him, but the rattling was incessant.

“You’re not going to get those off on your own, you know! Just go to sleep. They’ll take them off in the morning.”

“I want them off now, Round Face, fuck. I’m not some goddamn animal. I’m not gonna actually kill you. Can you get the fucking key and get them off of me?”

“Stop calling me Round Face and maybe I’ll consider it.”

Bakugou let out an aggressive breath and with what Uraraka imagined was all his strength, spat out her name.

“Uraraka. Can. You. Please. Take. These. Off?”

Fine, she would. She climbed out of bed, noting the protests her body made when she hit the ground and casting an irritated glare at Bakugou, who had done this to her, then maneuvered slowly through the darkness. The keys to the handcuffs were on the end table next to his bed, tauntingly close to him.

“Bullshit that they had to handcuff me,” he muttered as Uraraka blindly tried to find the keyhole.

“You were acting like an insane person.”

“Shut the fuck up.”

“I’m holding the key to your freedom here; do you really want to keep being rude to me?”

Bakugou kept his mouth shut. Uraraka released him.

“Thank fuck.”

"You’re welcome,” she said pointedly, standing up again. “Now go to sleep.”

He said nothing, and so Uraraka clambered back into bed, clumsily and blindly. Her head hit the pillow and she sighed loudly. Sleep, please, sleep, she told herself. When she woke up, things would be normal again.

After what seemed like a lifetime of disconcerting silence in which her thoughts swirled around like a hurricane, Uraraka began to fall asleep. Dreams were getting ready to claim her and she was ready to embrace them, when once again, she was shocked awake.

“Round Face." Her eyes shot open and she squeaked, startling so hard that she bumped her head against the wall. Bakugou was right next to her bed, standing over her and staring directly at her.

“What!” She gasped, suddenly fearing for her life again. Bakugo had decided he was going to kill her. This was it.

“Hey. Calm the fuck down. I just can’t sleep.”

“Don’t stand over me like that! That was scary!”

“Don’t be such a baby."

“You startled me. I was about to fall asleep.”

“Yeah, fuckin' sorry, didn't know you'd be able to sleep that easily."

She squinted at him in the darkness. His voice was gentler, without malice. It was suspicious. She still hadn’t ruled out his attempted murder of her.

He ran his fingers through his hair and coughed, almost awkwardly. “I’m fuckin' wide awake. I’m amped up. I’m – I just can’t relax.”

“And what…am I…supposed to do about that, Bakugou?” She was terrified for his response. Did he want to use her as a punching bag to get rid of his manic energy? Target practice for his quirk?

“I – I have a suggestion that might work well for both of us.”

“If it works well for both of us, then I’m assuming it doesn’t involve me bleeding.”

“You really have no faith in me, do you?”

Uraraka snorted. “I wonder why? Could it be because every waking moment you’re trying to destroy my best friend? Maybe because you shout at everyone who looks your way? The fact that you probably learned my name for the first time today because it was announced during the festival?”

“First off – that’s your own damn fault for being friends with Deku. And I knew your name before. I’ve noticed you. Obviously.”

She raised her eyebrows in the darkness. “You’ve noticed me?”

"Would be hard not to,” he said it in such an offhand way that Uraraka wasn’t sure if she had heard him correctly. This was not Bakugou talking. What kind of drugs had they given him?

“Look,” he began again, “I’m just – all I’m saying – is that we’ve both had a kind of…tense day, don’t you think?”

“Yes…” Uraraka answered slowly. “You could definitely say that.” She thought back again to the meteor shower that had rained down upon her and cringed. Her humiliation would never fade.

“Right, exactly. I have a lot of…pent up energy that I could stand to get out.”

He really did want to use her as target practice for his quirk! “Bakugou, I really don’t think what you’re thinking is a good idea,” she started off quickly, not pausing to breathe, “and I really think that maybe you should, like, run around outside or something maybe? I’ll be fine in here.”

Bakugou said nothing but walked to the window to open the blinds. Moonlight shone into the room, and for once, Uraraka could see his face clearly. His features were softer than she had ever seen them. He could have almost passed for kind-looking, which was a ridiculous thought.

"What do you think I’m talking about, Round Face?” He asked with a smirk. So much for kind. She frowned.

“Uhhh…practicing your quirk on me?”

“I don’t think my quirk would be very useful in the situation I’m trying to describe to you here.” He was laughing now, and Uraraka blushed, embarrassed. “You really don't get it? I'm talking about sex.”

Uraraka was stunned. Horrified. Mortified. Her entire face burned, and she completely lost the ability to speak coherent sentences. “Wha – S – Me – Bakugou?” She waited for him to say something else, but he was politely looking on while she collected herself, so she spoke again. “What are you talking about? Why would you bring that up now?”

“Don’t play dumb with me, Round Face. I know you know what fuckin’ is. Everyone is doing it. Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed.” He rolled his eyes.

“I –” She couldn't argue. He was right. It was impossible not to notice when everyone lived so close to each other in the dorms – she'd caught Kaminari sneaking out of Jirou’s room early one morning, and Jirou had sworn her to secrecy. Ashido often came to the baths sporting purple bruises all down her neck and sometimes on her thighs. She pointed them out, giggling with a flush on her face. Uraraka knew what was going on, but she never gave it much thought. “I mean, yeah. I know some people are – engaging – in that kind of stuff. But so what!”

Bakugou whistled and shook his head. “You’re somethin’ else. You don’t know what you’re missing. Want me to show you?”

He had gotten closer to Uraraka now and she was losing her breath. She could not believe this was happening. Maybe it wasn’t happening. Maybe it was a dream. She pinched herself.

Nope. Not a dream.

“Did you just pinch yourself?" He snorted. "How fucking flattering.” Bakugou’s grin glowed in the dark.

Uraraka let out a noise that was supposed to be full of contempt but sounded more like a terrified squeak.

“This is not right, Bakugou – we don't even like each other!”

“Doesn’t have to be right; don't have to like each other,” he mumbled, “I just think we both need a release. Just one time. What do you say? Ochako.”

Her name came out of his mouth in a low and gravelly voice unlike anything Uraraka had heard before. It sent shivers down her whole body and she could feel the blush creeping back into her cheeks again. She didn't know what she was feeling, but it wasn't bad. Her stomach twisted with nerves and her whole body felt hot - she looked up at Bakugou and met his red eyes. They were gentle, but wanting. Different than she had ever seen them.

Uraraka couldn't pretend Bakugou wasn't attractive – he was gorgeous, in that disheveled, uncaring way. If he never opened his mouth, she could come up with a few fantasies about him, and it wasn't like she wasn't curious. Whenever Kaminari left Jirou's room, she practically floated. When Mina talked about her various escapades, in enough detail that would make even Midnight blush, Uraraka couldn't help but wonder – what would it be like? Maybe it would be good, to learn in a scenario like this – one that no one would ever have to know about, that they could pretend had never happened in the morning. They weren't friends; there was no affection, so it could just be like a science experiment. A learning experience.

“Just one time,” Bakugou promised her again, “Just once. We can go back to hating each other in the morning.”

She was so tense. Tense and sore and embarrassed and angry. Bakugou promised this would give her a release.

Maybe just one time would be okay, in the privacy of the infirmary, in the light of the moonlight, it could be like a dream that wouldn't exist in the morning. Without giving herself a chance to change her mind, Uraraka looked Bakugo in the eye and said, “okay.”

Bakugou smiled so menacingly, like an animal getting ready to devour its prey, and then he was in her bed before she had a chance to react.

He pinned her hands above her head and pressed his lips to her. They were softer than she would've thought, from Bakugou, and they fit against hers well. She had never been kissed before, and now she was kissing Bakugou, and she liked the feeling of it. She liked the feel of his hands holding her wrist as his lips moved against hers, coaxing them to follow his rhythm.

When he parted them and poked his tongue into her mouth, she squeaked and almost bit him. He pulled away, and then he was releasing her wrists and breathing into her ear, “relax, angel face. Don't think so damn much. Enjoy it.” He nipped at the ear he was whispering into, and Uraraka gasped. Her body reacted in ways she hadn't known it was capable of. She jerked into him.

“Angel face?” Bakugou bore his weight down on her and kissed her neck while his hands rested on her hips. She let out a shameful moan, and her own hands wound themselves around his back. “That’s new."

“It’s a name just for me. You’re just for me right now.” He kissed her collarbone and murmured, “angel.”

Uraraka melted and let herself give into this version of Bakugou. She turned her brain off, just like he suggested, and enjoyed it. She would follow his lead and learn from him – she would make the most of this strange and secret night. She moved her arms to his neck, pulling herself up and him with her. She followed his lead, and climbed into his lap, kissing him just like he had kissed her.

“You’re a fast learner, huh?” Bakugou grabbed her by her hair and pulled her closer. Uraraka ached between her legs, so she grinded against him for relief. He let out a soft moan.

Oh. Oh. The noise Bakugou made gave Uraraka a pang of pleasure and she decided she needed to get even closer to him.

“Take this off,” he growled and when he yanked at Uraraka’s shirt, she shimmied it willingly over her head. “This too,” he snapped her bra in one fluid motion and she was naked from the top up in front of him. In front of Bakugou.

This was too weird, but Uraraka couldn't stop now. Some raw instinct had taken completely over.

"Fuck, you're pretty," He said, as if in a daze.

"Huh?" She gasped as his hands found their way to her bare skin, tracing a line from her stomach to her chest. Bakugou said nothing, but his eyes bore into her, drinking in every detail. She would've felt self-conscious if he didn't look so reverent.

She was suddenly aware of the uneven playing ground here.

"You too," she demanded, drunk on this new feeling. She gripped the edges of his burned shirt and helped him out of it. She pressed her body against his, skin on skin, and held his face in her hands. “This is good," she breathed. He laughed and moved his mouth to her breasts.

“This is nothing, angel face," he said, his voice was wanting. “We haven’t even begun.”

He kissed and sucked on her breasts and she arched her back in response, grinding against him. She could feel his satisfaction through his pants, which was another new sensation that sent fire through her body. Bakugou wrapped his arms tight around her back and moved his lips back up to hers, kissing her frantically, slipping his tongue along her lower lip, prompting her to open her mouth just slightly again.

Bakugou moved her hands to his lap, and she felt the bulge that was straining against his pants.

"Take these off for me?" He asked. She had never heard Bakugou so gentle. Asking for things was not his forte - he demanded, but here he was with Uraraka, making sure she was okay with everything that was happening.

And she was. She answered his request with by fumbling with his zipper then yanking them down to his ankles. He kicked them off and then gave Uraraka the most beautiful look she had ever seen on his face - he was different when he wasn't angry, wasn't shouting or thrashing or insulting someone. His eyebrows weren't drawn together, but were raised slightly in bemusement. His eyes were lidded, the red softer as they took her in. It was like she was watching him come undone.

"Touch me." He moved Uraraka’s hands to his lap.

She obeyed, feeling him grow through his boxers at her touch. He moaned again, louder and when Uraraka shifted so that her mouth was on his stomach, trailing kisses downward, he gasped. She knew more than Bakugou could give her credit for – she'd paid attention to Mina's stories, after all, but she wouldn't tell him that.

“Fuck. For no experience, you’re good at this. A goddamn natural…” His voice trailed away as she ran her fingers along the waistband of his boxers. "You can – you can take them off too."

Uraraka nodded, and pulled the boxers down slowly. Once they were off, Uraraka had him in the palm of her hands. He was panting, chest heaving while he stared at her, but she was nervous. She knew what came next, but she didn’t…know how to do it.

Bakugou seemed to notice her hesitation. “Let me make you feel good," he said. "Okay?"

She nodded. Okay. She was pulled out of her shorts and underwear in a swift movement and she didn't have a single moment to feel exposed before Bakugou flipped her on her back and put one hand on each of her thighs. "You'll really like this," he promised, smiling mischievously, and then he lowered his head in-between her legs.

She should've been horrified; she should've been embarrassed that someone - that Bakugou - was seeing her so intimately, was touching her so privately, but all she could do was cry out. Bakugou seemed to be an expert at this – licking, lapping, swirling his tongue around like he was created for the sole purpose of pleasuring her.

“Bakugou,” she whined, “Bakugou, please…”

“Please what?” He mumbled, his words tickling her skin.

“Please,” she repeated, her breathing heavy. “Please!”

"What do you need?"

"I need...more." She knew what she needed, but didn't know how to describe it. She had a desire to be filled - and she knew that Bakugou would fulfil it for her. She wanted to know how all of the stories ended, wanted to experience it for herself.

“You sure you're ready, Round Face?”

“I'm ready, I need it,” she was more aggressive this time, desperate, needing. She was a mess of her usual self, and she didn't care, she just wanted more from Bakugou.

He positioned himself above her, and stared down. "You sure?"

"Yes!"

He didn't need to be told again. He pushed in, slowly, painfully, tantalizing.

“You’re so tight," he actually whimpered. “Fuck, Ochako. Are you okay?”

She didn’t think she could feel so much pain and so much pleasure at the same time. The sensation was tearing her apart, but she needed more. She needed to work through it.  She was in bliss. He thrust into her slowly, finally bottoming out. “I'm okay," she managed. "Don’t stop.”

“You’re gonna to kill me,” he rasped, but he didn’t stop. He continued to thrust in and out, quickly finding a rhythm that overwhelmed Uraraka to the point where she was coming undone with breathy gasps and whispered pleas. She wrapped her legs around him and he sunk even deeper into her.

"Bakugou!" She cried and Bakugou whined. She was close to something otherworldly - her vision was blurring, her stomach was exploding in warmth and her skin tingled all over. "Bakugou --!" She choked on her words as he thrust into her once more, hitting a spot that unraveled her. She lost sense of where she was and all she could focus on was riding out the feelings that threatened to take over her body.

Bakugou groaned and pulled out of her, bringing her back to the present as something warm covered her stomach.

“Fuck," he murmured. “Fuck.” He gave her an intense look and smiled softly, just as blissed out as she was. "Sorry," he gestured to the mess. She was incapable of words so she just waved it away. She would take care of it later.

“See?” Bakugou murmured, tracing her lips with his finger, giving her a dangerous smile. “Don’t you feel better now?”

-x-

Uraraka woke up the next morning feeling sorer than she did the previous day. Her entire body ached, and she was in desperate need of a shower. Disoriented, she blinked at the room around her. The bed next to her was empty, but hers was crowded. Bakugou slept beside her – well, under her, peacefully. His breathing was even, and his face was smooth. She liked him like this. He was much more handsome when he wasn’t yelling and cursing. She smiled, and pulled the blanket they shared tighter to them. When he woke up, they would have to pretend this never happened, but Uraraka could enjoy it for now.

“I would recommend you moving him before we open up the infirmary to visitors. Your friends want to see you.”

Uraraka’s entire body almost seized. Aizawa was sitting in a seat near the bed, regarding her with uninterested eyes.

“Sensei!” She cried, mortified. She pulled the covers up tighter to her neck, making sure she and her bedmate were covered. “How long have you been sitting there?”

“Not long," he said, his eyes moving slowly to Bakugou’s undisturbed form. “I came to check on the two of you before allowing visitors. Uraraka, this is truly none of my business, but please be careful of what you get into with Bakugou.”

Uraraka could only nod in fear, wishing she had a disappearing quirk.

"I imagine your friends will want to see you as soon as they wake. They’re an enthusiastic bunch, you know.” He looked once more to Bakugou, and then stood to go.

"Sensei!” Uraraka was urgent. “You won’t – you won’t –!”

“I’m not a middle school girl, Uraraka. I don’t have a habit of gossiping.” He walked out of the room.

In that moment, Uraraka wished Bakugo had killed her during the sports festival. It would’ve been better than the shame and embarrassment she was feeling right now.
