Chapter Text
“I can wait. We are here together, and that is enough”, An said while looking at me, a brilliant smile filling his handsome face. I smiled after hearing those words. It was a quote from my most favorite movie, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I guess I would think of him now whenever I watch that film.
To be honest, I was at a loss on what to do next. I never really had to deal with feelings before. From the moment I fell for Lin, it was like only she mattered. I didn’t have to face my feelings for her head on because she has been unattainable for the past few years. And although I had been confessed to a lot of times, all of those had only led to sex. I never took any of them seriously because my heart was already Lin’s and my head was already filled with thoughts of her. I thought nobody else would fill those spaces. But I was proved wrong. For the past few months, my recurrent thoughts of Lin were replaced by this senior in front of me. When he suggested that I liked him romantically, I thought him ridiculous at that time. But I guess the power of suggestion is really effective. I developed these feelings seemingly out of nowhere. And now, he knows what I feel. What the f*ck?!? I’ve never really confessed to someone who mattered. I have no idea what the next step ought to be.
Some of my emotions must clearly show on my face, because the next thing I know, he’s apparently moved closer to me. I’m fully clueless about what’s going to happen so I stay still, curious about his actions. He’s almost right beside me. He then brings his hands closer to my face, but at the end, it’s only his index finger that touches me, tracing my furrowed brow.
“Don’t overthink. We’ll take things as they come along. We’re not in a rush. Everything will work out in the end”. I can’t help but smile at him, feeling myself relaxing at his words. The pressure I’ve been feeling ever since he sat behind me eases for a little bit.
“Also, your one brain cell might hurt if you think too much”
This asshole. Why does he always call me stupid to offset whenever he says something nice to me? Is this whole thing a fucking joke to him? Did I really lose sleep over this jerkface?
Not being able to think of a retort, I moved to smack his hand away from my face, but the prick instead holds my hand before it can even go near him. He then tugs it hard causing me stumble towards him. He catches me before my body hits the floor. Shocked, I find myself in his arms, looking up at devilish smirk now grazing his face.
“I know you fell for me already, but you don’t have to do it literally too, my dearest Too”.
Upon hearing those words, I forced myself upright, shoved the sniggering dickhead away from me, and stamped his foot for good measure. I walk away with my head held high to howls of pained yelps somewhere behind me. I didn’t look back. What a unique way to start a new relationship I guess.
~~~~~
I find myself in the after party for Likebrary. The Comm Arts students really love their parties. We have one for just about every excuse we can think of. And a Comm Art party had three requirements: 1. Lots of booze, 2. Drunken students flirting the night away, and 3. Party games that give people the excuse to flirt with whoever they wanted.
Usually, I would be in the thick of things, flirting with whoever wanted to be with me, drinking myself silly, and reluctantly playing whatever party game the seniors thought of. I’ve always been a social person and I was never lacking in companionship. But tonight I find myself sitting in a corner alone, nursing the same bottle of beer I was given the moment I entered the venue. After the stunt Kai pulled earlier today, he and Third were together somewhere, probably smooching all the sexual frustration that had been built up between them for the past few months. Bone was somewhere here in the party upholding the reputation of the Savage Gang of being the ladies’ men. I guess somebody still had to do it. I was not in the mood to even flirt. All night girls had been flocking to me, saying flirtatious words while twirling their hairs and puffing their chest out with the buttons slightly opened, as though to show me a taste of the forbidden fruit. A week ago I would have jumped at the chance to be with them, but whenever the thought of me responding to these girls’ advances do come to light, a disembodied masculine voice fills my head with “I can wait”, and all of that interest just fades away.
What’s worse is that the owner of the disembodied voice is also here tonight. He’s with his friends; laughing, smiling at everyone; indulging every girl who asks for a selfie with him, giving his charms away so freely like he always does. And he says he likes me. He didn’t even look at me when I came in. Pffft. Liar. Selfish jerk. Asshole. Ugly face. Okay. I take back ugly face. Even before all of this started, I was even willing to admit that the idiot was very handsome. But now I think that that handsome face might be compatible with my right hand.
Irritated, I finally stand up and walk the few steps that separates me from the ice box that contains the free booze P’Cent ordered. I take as many bottles as I could carry, fully intending to take advantage of the generosity of my senior. It’s not like I have anything better to do. I can’t even go and flirt with girls like I usually would. I feel like this tiger has been declawed and neutered, and it’s not sitting right with me. Maybe the tiger will be reawakened if my inhibitions would be way lowered? And maybe I would be less aware of the other tiger in the room whose face has been filling my waking hours for the past few months? With that in mind, a smile finally breaks out of my face for the first time tonight, and I cheerfully turned my back from the ice box to return to my lonely corner of shame.
But that didn’t happen as I was suddenly face to face with the source of my irritation. He forcibly takes some of the bottles off my hands and says with an eyebrow raised: “Drinking yourself to death tonight Too?”
I thought to take back the booze he took away from me, but the ones that remained in my hand started to wobble. I guess he can have those then as long as he won’t steal what was left. “It’s none of your business even if I do”, I said as flippantly as I possibly can.
My seeming disinterest doesn’t phase him. He flashes me a disarming grin, turns around and walks towards the corner I’ve been hoarding all night. Huh. So he does know where I’ve been staying at. I followed him there, honestly not knowing what to say to him. Ever since his confession during the pool party, we have had a weird relationship. Pre-confession, our conversations were full of banter and trading insults. I would act around him like I would with any senior. After his confession, whenever we had to be in each other’s company, we only talked about work. I don’t know how to act now that we don’t have the distraction of Likebrary to talk about. I’m somebody who hates dead air and awkward silences, but I’m pretty sure that’s what would happen with us. It’s not like we interacted much before or we have a lot of things in common. We were (are?) both womanizers, but it’s really not appropriate to talk about people you banged in the past with somebody who apparently likes you and who you have allegedly have feelings for.
When we reach my corner of shame, he drops the bottles he’s been holding on the nearby table and scurries off without a word. I’m stunned but figure out it’s probably one of his quirks that I don’t know about. I don’t even really know this guy. Why do I have feelings for him again? With a sigh, I try to divert my thoughts from the weird guy I was just with and focus on the numerous liquors in front of me.
Just as I was about to finish my second bottle, I hear a scraping noise beside me. Turning my head away from the lovely view of my free booze, I saw P’An dragging a chair behind him. He places it right beside mine and sits facing me. I turn my head away from him and back to my booze, fully intending on ignoring him. Minutes of silence pass between us, but I can see his piercing gaze on me from my peripheral vision. Unable to take it any longer, I look back at him only to see him staring at me with a soft smile on his face.
I raise my eyebrows at him and say: “What are you looking at, ugly?”.
He shakes his head and laughs. “Is that the way you greet the most handsome man in the room?”
The nerve of this guy. “Handsome my ass. My ass is more handsome than you”.
He deliberately flickers down his gaze downwards, fully ogling me now. “It’s quite a nice ass, but my face is still more handsome”. He then traces my body with his eyes, going upwards until our eyes meet again, and then the cheeky jerk has the audacity to wink at me.
Feeling my face reddening, I quickly grabbed one of the liquors in front of me and handed him one while saying: “Pervert. If you use your mouth to say such useless things, it’s better to just use it to help me chug all of these down”. If I had to deal with this guy more tonight, I needed to have more booze in my system.
He drinks the liquor I gave him, mirth filling his eyes. “Okay. I’ll stop teasing you now. It’s so funny to see you blushing though. Who knew that the great playboy Too Thanachat blushed like a fucking virgin?”
“Asshole. Do you wanna get punched?” I’m usually full of retorts and I like infuriating other people. I’m also at a loss as to why the hell my brain won’t work this time around.
“I missed your charming wit, you know, these past few months that you’ve been ignoring me”
I chugged down the bottle that I’ve been holding, suddenly thirsty. I guess we’re talking now. But I’ve always been a prideful person, so I intend to not make it easy for him. “What? We’ve talked a lot. We even had that one long conversation about the camera angles for the trailers of the stage play”
P’An kicks me in the shins. It stings, but I try not to show any reaction. But I guess he’s serious now. Guess I have to be serious too, so with a sigh, I say: “Okay okay. I’m sorry. I just didn’t know what to do after you confessed. I panicked. It’s not like I thought of you like that before”.
“I understand. Were you shocked?”.
“Shocked is the understatement of the century.”
“I flirted with you quite heavily. It’s not my fault you’re too stupid to see it”.
“Oi. Who you do you think you’re calling stupid?”
“You. Idiot. Dumbass. Dunce. Didn’t you realize at all that I might have feelings for you?”
“Hey. Don’t blame me. Kai convinced us you were in love with Third. Blame him! And I know you’re a very flirty person, so why would I take any of your words seriously?”.
“I meant every word I said to you”.
“Well you called me crazy for watching The Perks of Being a Wallflower several times”
“You remembered that? Didn’t know our conversations were that memorable”, he said with a smirk forming in his face. “It’s because you watched it more than 10 times. Though fine, I do understand where that craziness comes from. Emma’s hot”.
“See. That’s why I can’t take you seriously. You say you like me and then you say Emma’s hot”.
“You also like me but you still find girls with big *does the hand gesture for boobs* hot right?”
I nodded, I don’t understand what he’s trying to drive at, but I do still get attracted to those girls even if I have lived my life in confusion about what I felt for this handsome idiot in front of me for the past few months.
“See? That just proves that me finding Emma hot doesn’t invalidate anything I have already said to you”.
I roll my eyes at him, although I silently acknowledge his point. Sexuality is too complicated to think about now, and this is a conversation sober me should have with sober him. I don’t think I’m too drunk at this point, but my steady consumption of booze since I sat down and while this conversation has been happening has assuredly lowered my ability to think; and probably my defenses too as I just realized from the next thing he says.
“I’m happy that you’re not fighting the fact that you like me though”
“When did I ever say I liked you?”
“You did when you said you couldn’t stop thinking of me, and right now when you didn’t object when I said you liked me”.
He’s saying the truth, but that doesn’t mean I have to agree with him. So I just say nothing but stare coolly back at him. Instead of getting disheartened, my silence seems to egg him on.
“And now, I’ve rendered you speechless”, he said with a delighted grin.
“I was speechless because I can’t believe all the bullsh*t that comes out of your mouth. Here’s some alcohol to rinse your mouth out”, I say as I handed him another bottle of liquor. I swear I’ve drank at least 4 more bottles than he did. It’s unfair. I’d probably get more wasted than him.
“Seriously though, you’re not gonna ignore me again, are you?”
I nod, signaling my assent. However, I couldn’t resist but try to aggravate him.
“I thought somebody said they were gonna run after me even if I do run away?”
“I will. Now that you told me not to give up on you, I will take as many steps as I need to be able to stay with you”.
That sentence was said with no hint of joke whatsoever that I immediately felt a lump in my throat. Desperately I clutched at another bottle within my reach, chugging it down in a second. Goosebumps travel through my arm from the moment the words were uttered. I don’t know what to do in these situations. Just like when he had confessed, I could sense that what he was saying was the truth. But a part of me is still in disbelief at what was happening. Why would he have such intense feelings for me? We’ve never been particularly close and all of this was happening way too suddenly.
“I bet you stay that to all the girls”, my mouth says involuntarily. I immediately replaced the empty bottle I was holding with a full one and direct it to my mouth to prevent it from saying anything more.
“Hmmmm. I didn’t know you were the jealous type. I thought you’d be overconfident to the point of irritation, actually. This is a lovely little information to know that I could use in the future against you”
I raise my middle finger at him to show my irritation. Jealous? Me? Over him? He only wishes.
He laughs loudly, startling the people nearest to us, drawing quite a few eyes to our little corner. It was only then that I was reminded of the presence of other people in the bar.
I kick what I could reach of him, not quite hitting his legs but just his chair. My actions cause him to laugh harder. Aurgh. Could he please stop laughing at me? He’s annoying me more and more every second that I’m with him.
Just as I was about to berate him, a girl comes up to us, sauntering sexily in a way I would have appreciated before. But now her presence just increases my annoyance as I could see her eyes were being directed at the infuriating idiot in front of me.
“Handsome boys, why are you both depriving the rest of us the pleasure of your company?”, says the girl I could recognize as one of Kai’s exes. She’s batting her eyes at P’An, smiling sexily, while stroking his arms. Hmmm. Classic flirtation moves. This girl knows what she’s doing. What if she’s one of the girls P’An’s been with? Is that why she’s comfortable touching him?
I got shocked as P’An suddenly reached towards me, puts his arms around my shoulders and dragged me towards him. Because of the sudden movement, and my undeniable inebriation, I found myself with my head on his chest.
“My Nong is a tad tipsy. I need to look after him. Just go have fun without me Nin. We’ll be okay here. I’m sure you can find someone who’ll enjoy the pleasure of your company”.
A shadow crosses her face, making her less unattractive than I initially thought her to be. However, she quickly recovers and puts on a sickeningly sweet smile. She looks so creepy if I were to be 100% honest. She nods at P’An one last time, and then turns away, doing her supposedly sexy walk that just looks weird to me now.
Once she has already disappeared to the other end of the bar, I realize that my head was still on P’An’s chest and his arms were still around me. I quickly shoved him away and returned to my original position facing him. He just smiles at me looking as though he was holding back laughter. It’s as if my every movement is making him laugh. I’m not a clown you know. I’m not here for your personal entertainment, I thought bitterly.
I don’t really quite understand what’s going on through his head. I’m sure he likes me, and he has said so himself. He really has no reason to lie, unless this was some convoluted prank by the seniors… Which now that I think about it, sounds plausible. I mean, wasn’t the whole misunderstanding about P’An supposedly liking Third caused by P’Cent’s prank?
And if he is pranking me, what would he benefit from making me fall for him? Perhaps satisfaction that one of his competing womanizers is now out of the competition so he’d have more girls for himself? But that doesn’t really make sense though. The people who had the most girls going after them in our college was Kai and P’An. If P’An wanted to eliminate the competition, he would have gone after Kai. Also, now that Kai, and Third, who had several girls who were after him despite his reputation as a harsh rejector, are dating (they say they aren’t but to be honest, who are they kidding? It’ll end up there at the very least), that’s two womanizers who are out of the equation. So honestly, girls will be up for the picking if that’s what he’s worried about.
“You’re over thinking again. And whatever it is you’re thinking about is really bothering you, huh. Care to share to the audience?”
“No. And how do you know I’m lost in my own thoughts?”
“You’re easy enough to read if someone really bothers to observe your expressions. See, if you’re bothered by something, your eyebrows furrow so you get this cute dent between your eyebrows, and you tend to look at your left side intently.”
Wow. Okay. That’s kinda…. Weird.
“Have you been stalking me?”
He snorts at me in response. Snorting is usually such an unattractive thing to do. Why is it that even when he’s doing that he’s still handsome? How is this fair?
“I wouldn’t call it stalking, but merely observing you. We have been working closely together for the past year for this play you know”.
I nod. It does make sense, but I still find it a bit weird that he apparently notices me that much. Must I hide my face whenever we’re in the same room? I’ve never really felt self-conscious before. But I’m starting to feel it now.
“You’re doing it again”, he says with a scoff.
“I can’t help it that I’m too smart that my brain makes me overthink”, I quipped, trying to say it with a smug tone, but quite failing. I sigh. Might as well tell him the truth then so at least this conversation goes somewhere.
“Don’t get me wrong, I know I’m attractive. I don’t think I’ll be part of the Savage Gang if I wasn’t. But I still don’t get why you’d like me of all people? You’ve never shown any interest in boys whatsoever. And your record as a playboy speaks for itself. We’re part of the same circle, so I know just how shitty you are so you can’t hide it from me. Everything just seems like it’s not adding up to the point that I’m thinking this could all just be a weird prank by you seniors. Like let’s see if we can fool another Savage kind of thing”. I say sarcastically, chest heaving after the torrent of words that came out from my mouth.
His eyes widen in shock. Huh. I guess he didn’t expect me to be this honest. His features relax after a few seconds. He looks to be deep in thought. I turn away from him and grab a new bottle of beer, my supply dwindling fast already. If we’re going to be laying our cards down the table though, I guess it’s better to have more alcohol in my system. Liquid courage, as they say.
“Hmmm… I didn’t think you’d be this open to talk about it to be perfectly honest. You have been avoiding me for the past few months”.
I just nod to show that I’m listening. I’m still not quite looking at him but I am drinking in his every word.
“If there’s one thing I can reassure you about right now, this isn’t a prank. I do like you. I don’t know when and how it actually started, I just noticed you more and more. If you ask me to pinpoint why I like you, I really don’t know either”
“I noticed that you don’t know a lot of things”, I quipped, trying to release some of the tension building up on my shoulders. I’m not reassured at all by what he’s saying. I guess I should be happy that at least it’s not a prank. But what if he just sees me as something he could conquer? What if all of this is temporary and I’m making myself vulnerable for someone who didn’t even truly like me?
A few seconds pass and we both just stew in silence. I don’t know if I should break it, but to be honest, I don’t know what to say to him either. However, I guess I’m better at handling silences because it’s him who speaks again.
“Yes, I am uncertain about a lot of things. But I am sure of some things. I get jealous whenever you give your attention to anybody else, because I want it all on me. Whenever you’re gone, I crave your company. I even miss your stupid jokes, insults, and sarcasm. You flit in and out of my thoughts randomly throughout the day. Wouldn’t I be an idiot if I didn’t figure out that it’s me liking you”
“Couldn’t it be that you just find me so interesting? I am interesting. I wouldn’t get girls if I wasn’t” I say, my voice a little bit smug. But even if I appear to be unflustered, my heart is suddenly beating faster than before.
“True. You are. But a lot of people are interesting too, and I feel differently for them. I can’t really explain it. But I’m sure that I like you. ”
I now turn to face him sensing that his voice has turned from teasing to serious. He meets my gaze for a moment, then turns away from me. I’m confused but I just watch him take gulps of the liquor that he’s been neglecting since the last time I urged him to drink. My eyes are drawn to his hands as he puts the bottle down, noting that they seem to be shaking a little. But my eyes are yanked back to his face when he suddenly continues.
“I’ve never really truly liked someone before. Ever since I was little, girls kept throwing themselves at me. It was never a matter of me liking someone and going after them. It was always just me choosing who I’d be with for the next few days, or weeks at the most”
“Are you just bragging about the girls you’ve been with jackass? Are you forgetting that you’re talking to a Savage? I’ve also had girls chasing after me.”
He shakes his head. What he says next comes with a touch of exasperation. “Of course you’ll miss the fucking point. I swear you’re more stupid than Kai. I’m not saying that to appear cool. Can’t you see that I’m saying that I’ve never felt this way with anyone before? People have come and gone in my life, and I didn’t care. But you’re the first person that I want to stay”
“…” I do not say anything. What can you even respond to something like that? I just take a big gulp of alcohol in response.
“So now do you believe me?”
“I guess. But I swear, you fucker, if this is all a prank, I’ll shave all the hair from your head”
“Do you think I’m a Buddha statue?”
“I used that insult against you before you uncreative buffalo”. I snorted at him.
“Maybe this is why I like you. Everyone else gives me their best foot forward. But you, you always show me your worst side. You insult me and curse me at every turn. And I don’t know why, but I like it”
“You’re fucking crazy if that’s the reason why you like me!”
I hear him shuffle closer to me. I then suddenly feel his hand on the top of my head, patting my hair like I’m some kind of pet.
I turn to face him and glower at him, trying to show all my pent-up irritation on my face.
He just smirks at me in return, withdrawing his hand from my head, but meeting my gaze, amusement clearly reflected in his eyes.
“Okay. Fine. I do believe that you like me. And I might think of you a lot too, unfortunately.” His smirk widens when he hears that. Smug asshole. “But what does that mean? What are we gonna do about it?”
“As a Savage I didn’t think you’d be one for defining the relationship early on”
I just raise my middle finger at him while draining the last of the liquor in my bottle. I’m not gonna say anything until he acknowledges my question. I have my pride.
He laughs again, shaking his head at me. I kept on staring at him. A few moment passes and he sighs, maybe realizing just how stubborn I can be.
“To be honest I don’t know either. I’m making things up as we go along. I think we should just let things run its course. The only thing that might have to change is us specifically making time for each other. I do want to spend more time with you and get to know you better. Are you okay with that?”
I nod at him. What he said makes sense. At least he’s not restricting me. Having whatever this is between us remain unlabeled is a good thing because I wouldn’t experience the pressure attached to a label. No expectations = no pressure = no pain. I mean, I’m not even sure if I want to be in a relationship with a guy, and even more specifically, him. And to be honest, even though I’ve had countless girlfriends, but like P’An, when I was in those in relationships, I didn’t have to do anything at all. The girls were the ones to put effort into the relationship. And I really didn’t care about their feelings or if I lost their affections, because a new one would certainly come along soon. They were all just temporary replacements for Lin at the time anyway. I have a feeling though, that if I was in a relationship with this flirty person in front of me, I would care if I suddenly lost him.
“Too…”
His voice was small, unlike his usual tone. The way he said the single word breaks me out from my internal monologue. I direct my stare at him, knowing that he has more to say.
“… I’ll be with you from this day on. Okay?”
I feel my usual impulse to say something sarcastic back, but the sincerity in his voice prevented me from doing so. All I could do was nod my head at him again, hoping against all odds that I was not blushing.
A smile graces his face for a moment, but then his face suddenly turns serious. Before I could question the change, I notice that somehow his face was getting closer and closer to mine. Is he gonna kiss me? Fucker. This is too public for a first kiss! I mean No! I don’t wanna be kissed by him!!! What the hell?!? But before I could voice out my objection, I could feel my stomach churning and bile rising on my throat. I quickly push him away from me and ran to the nearest toilet.
Time lost meaning after that. All I could think about was how much effort I had to do to be able to heave and how disgusting the vomit that was coming out of my mouth was. After most likely emptying my stomach into the toilet bowl, I try to stand up to go to the lavatory to wash my hands, but my body won’t cooperate. A wave of dizziness rushes through me and all I could do was close my eyes to combat its effects.
Suddenly, I could not feel the coolness of the tiles anymore. Someone was lifting me up from my prone position on the floor. I wanted to help by supporting my own weight but my legs won’t listen to me. Oh well. I hope they won’t drop me. I keep my eyes closed, certain that if I open them, I’d get nauseated again.
A blur of sounds surround me as I’m apparently moved from place to place. It’s too noisy until it suddenly gets quiets and all I can hear is the gentle humming of the engine of a car and other occasional sounds that reflect the nightlife of Bangkok. I can feel my head resting on someone’s shoulder. Their body was radiating so much warmth against the coolness of the aircon that I couldn’t help but snuggle closer to the heat source. I feel so sleepy. That was the last thought I had until darkness overtook me….
~~~~~
The first thing I notice when I wake up is the throbbing headache. It feels like there’s a thousand prisoners in my head that are constantly banging against my skull wanting to be left out. I can only sigh. I know better than to get a hangover by now. But I guess I didn’t take the usual precautions last night.
Last night…. Holy shit. The memories come flooding in an instant, causing my already throbbing head to ache further. I was talking to P’An all throughout the night. We talked about a lot of things I can barely remember now. And… fuck, he was about to kiss me. Good thing I had to go to the bathroom and puked… And I guess I passed out?
These random erratic thoughts led me to one conclusion though, P’An was the one who most likely brought me home.
For the first time since I come to, I realize that I was shirtless and only had boxer shorts on. Dreading what might have happened, I quickly inspected the state of my body. Nothing was sore that shouldn’t be sore after a day of lifting the camera and drinking the night way. There were no marks on me too.
Breathing a sigh of relief, I then turned my head to the side of the bed opposite of where I slept, afraid of what I’d find. Thankfully, there was no one there. However, a note was on the pillow:
Good morning idiot! You drank so much last night that you passed out.
And here I thought that the Savages had a higher alcohol tolerance than that.
Now I know I’m stronger than you.
Don’t worry, I’m a gentleman. I didn’t take advantage of you.
Everyone from my past gave themselves to me willingly.
I’m charming. ;)
Anyway, pain meds and water are on the table.
There’s also greasy food in the ref.
The One Running After You
P.s.: Check the area where you usually keep your Leica M.
What the hell?!? So he did send me home last night. I admit I was freaking out when I first thought about that because… well… P’An did have a reputation for being a playboy who had a lot of sexual escapades. And I was among the people who knew just how he got that reputation. It isn’t too far off to assume he’d do something to me too. Argggggh. But now that I’m sure that nothing happened, I kinda feel guilty for accusing him though.
I have to admit that the douchebag is sweet. I can understand why a lot of girls like him. Not only does he have a handsome face and a perfect body, his attitude is commendable too. He is a good friend and he treats his seniors and juniors well. He was even crowned as the “best-husband-to-be” by his fanclub because he is kind by nature. The only time he’s truly a prick is with girls because he always bluntly says that it isn’t a true relationship and that they have to break-up once he wants to. But most of his break-ups are amiable. It’s not too shocking to see him and an ex greeting each other if they meet in the uni halls.
And now I just discovered how caring he is. He could have left me to my own devices especially since I was the idiot who drank too much. But he got me painkillers for my hangover and even ordered greasy food to help me deal with the nausea.
I feel a bit weird that he undressed me though… but I guess it couldn’t be helped since I would now feel too sticky if I were still wearing my clothes last night. My bed would be smelling of stale alcohol and puke too if he didn’t do that. I guess I’ll just add that to the list of the good things he’s done for me and what I now owe him. And I’m not really shy about my body, so who cares if he’s seen me half-naked last night? I guess I’m good at fooling myself.
I took the meds he gave me and forced my aching body to finally stand up. The room wobbles for a bit, but I struggle on, knowing that it will be worse if I continue to stay in my bed all day. Plus, I know that eating greasy food helps a lot with the hangover.
It was only when I passed through the sofa that I remember the last part of his note… Go to the place where I keep my Leica M? What the hell did he do?!?
My eyes shift to the cabinet where the Leica M’s bag is usually stored, noting with horror that it was empty. My body instinctively rushes to the cabinet, all the while hoping that my eyes were tricking me. But inside all I find is another note:
Oi. I’m holding your camera for ransom.
I need a slave again.
Meet me at 1 pm at my apartment.
I’ve sent you the address on LINE.
Bring your DSLR with you.
Don’t worry, your camera is in safe hands.
Still from the One Running After You.
I grab my phone and open LINE. There really is a message from the wanker. I stare at the time in the clock, noting that it was already 12:30 pm. Shit! I hurriedly heated up the burger he left me, and ate it as soon as it’s cooled enough, all the while cursing the jerk who kidnapped my most prized possession. I then rush to take a fast shower and hurriedly put on the first clean clothes I see. The Grab car I booked was fast enough that by the time I was riding on it I knew I would make it on time.
Not even the surprisingly light traffic and the beautiful views we’ve passed could stop my murderous thoughts however. P’An, you’re messing with the wrong person. You’ll be dead the next time I see you.
Author’s Note:
The characters in this fic are not mine but Jittirain’s from a novel now-turned-series called Theory of Love.
If you know me from Twitter, then you probably know I’m obsessed with this pairing. <3 I’ve been curious about their relationship ever since I’ve heard through the grapevine of Twitter that they’d end up together. Once I read the special chapter from Too’s POV, I knew this was going to be one of the pairings I would love. The concept of two womanizers falling in love and discovering how to be in a proper relationship together has always fascinated me. I wanted more of P’An and Too. Thoughts of what happened between the two of them within the TOL universe randomly passes through my head during my waking hours. So I finally decided to write a fanfic about them. <3
I would like to just share that I tried showing that Too was becoming more and more inebriated as time went by. Which was why he got more waffley and tangential. Just try to imagine him carrying a whole bunch of beers as and consuming all but 2 (which he gave to P’An). That’s how drunk he supposedly is.
Also sorry for the curses and insults. I tried to stay true to their characters and both Too and An curse a lot.
If you recognize familiar scenarios from any BL drama (most would be from Lovesick because that is my ultimate fave), or from Dan and Phil, it’s intended to be there. I’m not claiming those scenarios as my own and fully give credit to whoever such is due. I just need to kinda copy scenes because I have absolutely zero creativity and my imagination is spotty at best. @_@
