Chapter Text
It was a normal day, just like everyone else. There was no important game at the moment, the general mood in the baseball team was relaxed and everyone trained with the usual passion for the upcoming tournament.
Sawamura had already got up at 5 a.m. like every morning, to run a few laps, even though he knew that he had to give his body more rest.
His extra morning training meant that he was still tired even though it was already lunch break, and even though he had slept for the first lessons.
He was still not really awake when he walked through the school to buy something to eat. The pitcher didn't pay attention to where he was going and so he ended into one of the more inanimate parts of the building. No one else came here at this time, most of them were standing in or in front of their classrooms or buying something for lunch.
Just as he was about to went around a corner, he saw something unusual and quickly hide before he was noticed. He took a deep breath, then carefully looked around and took a look at the scene that was in front of him.
Now, he was definitely awake.
Miyuki stood there, together with a girl at the end of the aisle, Eijun could see them very well from the side. The girl had black, long hair and a very pretty face, with which she was certainly popular in her class. She seemed nervous and embarrassed as if she didn't know exactly how to start this awkward conversation.
Eijun swallowed, even though he was an idiot, he knew what this situation was – after all, he had read enough Shoujo manga to get along with it.
Kuramochi had often told him that Miyuki received such love confessions really often. No wonder, he was damn good looking, was a great catcher and, on top of that, the captain of the baseball team – many would overlook his nasty personality because of this.
However, he never seemed to accept even one of these confessions, so Kuramochi made jokes about that someone who rejected all these girls had to be gay.
If someone would confess to him, he would be incredibly happy, but first, there had to be someone interested in him.
Eijun wondered why Miyuki rejected them all. Was it perhaps because baseball was his number one priority and he didn't want anything that distracts him or affects his training? Or maybe Kuramochi was right and he wasn't interested in girls in the first place? Perhaps he had no interest in a relationship in general, after all, he had enough to do with the team and no time for a girlfriend.
Sawamura knew it wasn't right to listen, but he was curious.
„I like you, Miyuki-kun!“, the girl said shyly, turning red and looked at the floor, looking incredibly cute. Since she called him „-kun“, she probably was in the same class.
The catcher sighed.
„I'm sorry, but...“, he started, but the girl interrupted him.
„Please! Just one date! It's okay if you won't return my feelings even then, but please at least give me a chance.“ Her voice sounded desperate, but at the same time, she had something resolute, as if she wouldn't give up easy on him. How would Miyuki react? It was certainly not the first time that someone didn't want to let things go so easily, even if he had already refused.
Actually, this was the right moment for Sawamura to disappear and leave them alone – he shouldn't see this – but he was so curious and wondered if he could look at something in case he would be in a similar situation someday.
Not that this would ever happen.
For a short moment, the catcher hesitated before nodding to Sawamura's surprise.
„Okay, good. But just one time... and do not give yourself great hopes.“
„Thank you!“ A beautiful smile spread on her face, then she went to her classroom. Miyuki waited a moment before sighing and then – luckily otherwise he would have noticed Sawamura – went in the same direction.
Sawamura had heard enough. Why would Miyuki suddenly agree to a date, when he had previously denied any confession before and wasn't interested in a relationship? Maybe he was just tired of being alone... After all, they all were young, healthy teenagers and many in the team would like to have a girlfriend, Miyuki was certainly no exception.
It took a while for Sawamura to realize what all of this meant. Miyuki would go on a date... with a girl. There was the possibility that he had feelings for her and soon get a girlfriend.
Sawamura didn't know what it was, but something bothered him and he groaned in frustration.
What if the catcher really got along with her and had less time for the team - and him? Now he trained much more with Furuya and Eijun had to beg every day so that he caught for him. What would happen if he spends his free time in the future with his girlfriend? Miyuki wasn't the guy to stop taking baseball seriously just because of a girl, but could Sawamura really be sure it didn't affect him?
He imagined how she would shout his first name during a game, and when he thought about this, he felt a strange feeling in his chest, which he couldn't explain.
He shouldn't think too much about it – nothing had happened at all so that he didn't have to worry.
Nevertheless, Sawamura wished that he had never heard this conversation.
