Park Jimin smiles softly, reaching over to arrange the flower corsage tucked into the left breast pocket of Kim Taehyung’s white suit jacket before flicking off a piece of lint from his shoulder.

“So? How does it look?”

Jimin giggles at the question, voiced out in a nervous tone that is pretty rare for this usually confident and exuberant best friend of his.

“It’s very Gucci, Tae. If anyone can do a Gucci suit justice, it’s you.”

Jimin hears the taller male sigh out in relief before a kiss is dropped onto the crown of his blonde locks.

“You always make me feel better, my dearest. God knows I need it most today.”

Jimin backs away and folds his arms, a tender smile on his face. “That’s what soulmates are for. Now, go put on those lovely Gucci loafers, the service is going to commence soon. I’m going to go check on Yoongi hyung now.”

At the name, Taehyung’s smile grows even wider. “Ok. Give my honey my love.”

Jimin laughs, endeared, shaking his head softly as he makes his way out into the hotel hallway. These two idiot friends of his are so in love and he loves it. He’s so excited they’re finally getting married. Tae and Yoongi have been together for 3 years and each year, they seem to just fall deeper and deeper into their relationship. Jimin even feels a little pang of envy for what they have.

As a film scorer, Yoongi is pretty much anti-social, preferring to work on his music in the silence of his studio, or more accurately, his basement at home. Taehyung is the social butterfly who loves mingling and meeting people and making friends. And somehow, they make things work, despite their differences. If anything, it is because they’re so different that they learn to appreciate the arts of their partner. Yoongi doesn’t like people, but he braves it all for Taehyung and Tae loves big parties and friends, but he’s learned that nothing beats being alone with just Yoongi.

Jimin cracks open Yoongi’s hotel room door and peeks inside. The lanky, white-haired male is standing in front of the oval gold-trimmed swivel mirror, fixing the navy blue bowtie that matches his crisp suit and he’s humming under his breath, his feet tapping along. It’s cute and so out of character for him that Jimin is fond. Just this alone was worth flying all the way back from Paris for.

“Might as well come inside, Jimin.”

Jimin chuckles softly as Yoongi calls that out without even turning around. Always so perceptive.

“How are those butterflies in your belly doing?” he asks, slipping in and closing the door behind him. Unlike Tae with his whole entourage of friends and family to help him prep, Yoongi is by himself. Yoongi states he does things better when he’s alone, everyone else would just get in his way.

“Pshhh. Butterflies. Reading too many romantic fairytales, Jimin.” Yoongi scoffs, but Jimin still catches the soft smile lingering around the corner of his lips. He plops down on the side of the bed to watch the elder finish arranging his bowtie.

Yoongi clears his throat. And then: “Jungkook will be here for the wedding and the reception.”

Jimin peers up at Yoongi, catching his eyes in the mirror. “I know,” he says softly.

“I figured Tae told you. He’s one of the very few guests from my side and I- “

“Hyung. I’m okay with it. It’s been almost two years.”

“I know. But I feel…I don’t know. It was a pretty intense breakup and I know you both haven’t spoken to one another since then so I don’t want to make it any more awkward, you know?” At Jimin’s nod, he hesitates. And then continues. “Jimin, you…you should talk to him. Things are not always what they seem to be and it may just ease this awkwardness -“

“Really, hyung. It won’t be like that. We’re both adults. His cousin and my best friend are getting married. Whatever we feel for each other doesn’t matter today. Today is all about you guys. You and Tae are getting married and I would never let any bad feelings ruin that.”

Yoongi sighs and drops his hands. “I know. I know and I just wish that you two- “

“We won’t even be close to each other the whole time, hyung. He’s going to be sitting on your side of the family and I’ll be on Tae’s side. The reception hall is huge enough and going to be so packed I probably won’t even be able to find you and Tae, let alone Jungkook, ok?”

Yoongi stares at Jimin a little curiously. And then he nods, relenting, a hint of relief shining through. And Jimin gets up and walks over to hug his friend. Nothing will ruin this wedding.

--

True to Jimin’s prediction, the wedding is beautiful and goes off superbly smooth. When groom and groom finally kiss, Tae is a crying mess, as expected and Yoongi is just staring at his new spouse with nothing but adoration in his eyes.

Oh, Jimin loved it, but there is so much love and hope and his friends are all coupled up and his heart aches with a tiny bit of heaviness. Sometimes he feels like he is a lonely planet, orbiting around what he doesn’t have. Can’t have.

During the vows, as Jimin had watched his friends speak to one another with their hearts in their eyes and their promises on their lips, his memory had sailed away to his own promises he’d made with someone else two years ago. He can’t help thinking…this could’ve been us. Should’ve been us. Instead, his hands remain lingering, coldly empty by his side, a numbness he’s gotten used to, encroaching again.

--

Jimin squeals as Jeon Seokjin, a friend he hasn’t seen since he’d left Seoul for Paris to pursue his dance career, wave to him from across the reception floor. Upon approaching, Jimin takes care not to spill his champagne flute as he wraps an arm around the taller male’s neck, bringing him down for a tight hug.

“Jiminie! My cutie Jiminie! How I’ve missed you!”

“I’ve missed you too, hyung!” Jimin exclaims back. And even though Seokjin is Jungkook’s older brother, he really means it. Just because he and Jungkook didn’t work out didn’t mean Jimin cut off feelings for their mutual friends, family or not.

“How’s Paris? How’s dancing? How’s the beautiful air there?” Seokjin fires his questions off rapidly, as is Seokjin nature and Jimin can only giggle back until the elder releases him and steps back as well.

“Paris is lovely, dancing is great and the air is just the best. How are you? How’s Joon?”

Seokjin and Namjoon have been an item since they were in high school and though still not married, they may as well be, always glued at the hips.

“Great. We’re all well!”

“Jin!”

They both turn to the dancing crowd as someone calls out for the elder and he quickly excuses himself from Jimin, promising to find him again later. Jimin laughs and nods, his eyes following Jin’s broad back until it disappears into the happy, dancing crowd. His eyes shift over to the bubbly bar and he freezes as they finally catch sight of someone he’d known was here, but hadn’t looked for. Or so he’d told himself.

Jeon Jungkook, Seokjin’s little brother, Yoongi’s cousin and best friend as well as Jimin’s own ex-boyfriend, is staring back at him with those dark, wide, doe eyes that Jimin has always been weak for.

In these two years, the man has grown even more, height as well as shoulders rivaling those of Seokjin’s, arms and legs even thicker than before, filling out his crisp all black suit ridiculously. His hair is so much longer now, no more styled in that endearingly short, cute-coconut cut; instead, it is split in the middle, the long waves framing his face like that of a bad boy rocker. It looks so good it’s unfair. And Jimin still hates it so much, how Jungkook still manages to cause flames to burn through his body and face, even from afar, with just the way he looks.

Jimin gulps as Jungkook continues holding his gaze. He starts making his way through the crowd, crossing between bodies and music, beelining straight for him and this is when Jimin’s anxiety kicks in.

His heartbeat kicks up faster and though his mind wants to stay rooted and hold their ground, curious to what Jungkook wants to say, his body reacts of their own accord.

Jimin promptly breaks the gaze, turns and bolts.

--

Jeon Jungkook downs his 6th shot of the night and then slams the small glass down on the bar table good-naturedly, smiling like an idiot at his brother. Seokjin is telling some stupid joke that’s not funny but really funny due to Jungkook’s inebriated state, Hoseok is smiling so hard his eyes are gone and Namjoon is, of course, laughing along like the good boyfriend he is.

Sometimes, especially on nights like this, Jungkook envies his brother’s relationship. There’s very little that can split Joon and Jin apart and it has been this way since before Jungkook can remember.

“Toast, to the couple!”

He hears Joon call out as the newlyweds approach their small circle of friends. They’re missing only one person and Jungkook had somehow managed to foil that up as well. It’s almost two hours later and he still can’t believe Jimin had ran, actually ran, from him. Did he fuck up that badly that Jimin is still traumatized over their break up 2 years later?

But then again, he thinks bitterly…Jimin was always great at running away.

And just as fast as that thought comes, even in his semi-intoxicated state, he frowns and pushes it away. It’s an unfair thought, completely. Jungkook was no saint either; matter of fact, he was the one who caused Jimin to run. Both times. It was he who had frosted over their happiness, he who had caused this unending blizzard in his life.

“Drink up, little ass-wipe. Cheer the happy couple on!” Seokjin nudges him and Jungkook hides a burp poorly by offering up a smile and another raised shot glass.

“Cheers!”

--

Jimin hangs up his call, glad both Tae and Yoongi had understood when he’d fled from their reception. Of course he’d fibbed and blamed it on a shrimp cocktail he didn’t even touch. Seafood has always been one of Jimin’s greatest food kryptonites and in this instance, he is glad for it helped his situation out. The loving couple had just cleared out the hall and were heading up to their suite before their flight to Switzerland tomorrow afternoon for their honeymoon.

Its midnight now, the people in the city of Seoul settling down to allow the lights of night to shine. His hotel offers a gorgeous view with floor to ceiling windows and Jimin folds his arms across his chest, over his white robe as he stares out into the scenery, his mind uncomfortable with the way he’d handled Jungkook earlier. But he’d been scared…so scared of what would happen.

Not that the current situation is any better.  It’s one that has become like a terrible birthmark to Jimin; it’s there and he can’t do anything about it but ignore it.

Jimin had thought he’d lain to rest their past, but he’s so wrong. Perhaps if there had been more time to distance him from the younger, he may be fine, he thinks, because apparently, 2 years did nothing but hide his true feelings for Jungkook.

Jimin scoffs at himself for this thought. Who is he kidding. he could never really get over Jungkook. Like a vine, he’d wheedled in and stuck his thorns into every part of Jimin’s heart, to the point where every move without him had hurt. Hurts still.

He sighs and looks at his iwatch, the time display reminding him that he has an early morning flight back to Paris in a few hours and he really should be sleeping.

Jimin turns to his bed where socks and a small stack of t-shirts remain piled, his open suitcases on the ground. He’s already almost done packing, only interrupted when he’d taken off to answer Tae’s call. The toiletries can wait until-

Buzz-buzz-buzz.

Jimin’s thoughts are interrupted as he hears the doorbell. Curious, he shuffles over to the door and cracks it open a little, wondering if Tae is making good his threat to come check on his ‘food poisoning’ illness.

He audibly gasps though, at the unexpected sight of Jeon Jungkook, suit jacket open, shirt wrinkled and hands in his slacks pocket staring back at him. Jimin finds himself stepping back and opening the door wider as he curiously takes in Jungkook’s messy hair, disheveled like he’d been running his fingers through it constantly, his round eyes full of intent and his jawline defined, clenched.

“Jimin.”

The husky tone washes over Jimin immediately and he tightens his hand on the doorknob, as if he needs the stability to not just melt.

“It’s late and I know you’ve got a morning flight but I ... I need to tell you something.”

Jimin inhales sharply, the sight and familiar scent of the man before him bringing forth a moment branded in his brain, almost absolutely reminiscent of this from their past; same words, same situation.

--

Two years ago, a sunny day in May

Jimin hums slightly under his breath as he folds his last sweater and lays it over the slacks he already has tucked into his rubber suitcase. He still can’t believe he’s going to Paris for the next 3 years to further his dance dreams. All this along with having the most wonderful, understanding boyfriend ever makes Jimin think he is the luckiest person on earth. Jungkook has been so supportive of this next step in Jimin’s career, proving that he would be the best long-distance boyfriend for the next few years.

He hears the front door of his apartment open and close and then the familiar footsteps of whom could only be his boyfriend. A second later, Jungkook is standing at his bedroom doorway, hands in his jeans pockets.

“Hi baby! I - what’s wrong?” Jimin notices the set of stiff shoulders and flattened lips immediately.

“Jimin…Can we talk? I know your flight leaves early in the morning but I have to tell you something.”

Jimin feels the pit of his belly dip forebodingly, but he nods and sits on the side of the bed, patting the spot next to it for Jungkook. The 21-year-old does so, keeping his hands clasped together.

“Jungkook? What is it? You know you can talk to me about any-“

“I don’t want you to go.”

Jimin freezes at the calm outburst. What?  He stares at his boyfriend, mouth agog, eyes wide. How can this be? Jungkook had been his number one supporter, his biggest source of energy when he’d had any doubts.

“I…I feel so terrible for saying this,” Jungkook continues, turning pleading eyes to his boyfriend, willing him to understand. “But I don’t want you to go. Stay here with me. I’ve got one more year left for university and I need you with me. “

“What?” Jimin whispers back in shock. “You…Jungkook, really? You just… can’t do this. Not right now. Not to me!”

“Jimin. Please. I’ve tried to put on a strong façade for you, but I…I don’t want us to be away from one another.”

“Jungkook-ah. Are you serious? My flight is in less than 10 hours. I’ve packed, paid for my ticket and all my fees for the program as well!”

“Hyung, I know that. I know you won’t get a refund but I’ll work doubles until I pay that money back to you-“

“Jungkook!” Jimin finally snaps and stands up, stalking away from the bed, from his boyfriend. He suddenly can’t stand to be too close to the one he loves. “It’s not about the money! It’s about you waiting last minute to tell me you’re not okay with this! What the actual fuck? What happened between yesterday and today? Why?”

Jungkook’s eyes well up with tears and Jimin is so close to breaking and rushing over to hug him, but he folds his arms across his chest, willing himself to not do it. Jungkook cannot just spring this on him and expect him to forgive and conform blindly. Not this time.

“Please, Jimin. I don’t think I can handle being so far apart from you for so long.”

“Jungkook, I get a week’s break every 4 months. I can come see you or you can come see me! We’ll just talk on the phone more, facetime more-“

“It’s not going to be the same.”

“Well, Jungkook, of course not. We’re going to be hundreds of miles apart. But life changes ok? We all gotta roll with it or be left behind.” Now Jimin is getting irritated as well, not appreciating being blindsided by Jungkook’s sudden change of heart.

“Can’t you put it off another year?”

“Jungkook. You know I can’t.” Jimin’s frustration mounts and it takes everything he has to not physically pull at his hair.

“It’s just…I just need you here, ok? Is that too much to ask from my boyfriend whom I’ve sacrificed a lot for too?”

Jimin’s mouth falls open. No, he did not just play that card. “Jungkook, really?! How dare you. I’ve sacrificed as well and you know Paris has been my dream since before we even started dating. You’re being so selfish right now.”

Jungkook’s eyes widen at those words and he stands up, sadness suddenly replaced with anger. “Selfish? You’re the one running off and leaving me behind and yet I’m the selfish one?”

“Yes!” Jimin pretty much yells back, hands fisted at his sides. “Not only so but also an unreasonable liar! You pretended to support me and my endeavors only to end up trying to staunch my dreams!”

Jungkook’s stare turns burning and his right eye flinches, he’s so angry at Jimin’s insinuations. “Then let’s just stop this, yeah? You go on and achieve your dreams without me tagging along, weighing you down, staunching your dreams.”

Jimin gasps but he too, is so hurt by Jungkook’s irrational impulsiveness he fires right back. “Fine. You’re right. Long distance wouldn’t work with us anyway, you’re too clingy.”

“And you’re really fucking self-centered!”

Jimin reels back as if slapped but Jungkook pays no heed, just speed walks out of the room and to the front door, opening and slamming it with such intensity it echoes all the way to the bedroom.

Jimin slowly sinks down onto his mattress, tears sluicing down his cheeks unheeded.  What the fuck had just happened?

Ten minutes. That’s all it had taken for a 2-year relationship to fall apart.

He lowers his head, bringing up his hands to cover his face. Now, in the stillness of the aftermath, his mind rewinds and replays all the nasty words he’d just exchanged with Jungkook, the love of his life, and he sobs, wishing he can take it all back.

Jimin falls asleep that night with his cellphone tucked securely against his heart so that he can feel and hear the buzzing when Jungkook texts him so he can apologize. He doesn’t get a text that night…nor does he get anything the next morning, the next week, the next year.

--

Present:

“Uhhh…yeah, yes.” Jimin clears his throat and back away from the door. “Come in.”

Jungkook enters the room and Jimin closes the door before turning back around, hands gripping the neckline of his robe tightly, nervous yet curious.

There’s a presence about Jungkook that hadn’t been there in his youth. He seems to be even bigger, standing impressively in his all black attire, his tall build and broad shoulders cleaving the all-white hotel room like a tear in a glossy photo.

He can smell a strong stench of alcohol off Jungkook’s person though he can’t quite figure out if he’s truly intoxicated or not. His nerves are all jittery, wondering nervously what brings Jungkook here, at this time, at this hour. Is he here to yell at Jimin for running off earlier? Sure, maybe he deserved to be yelled at but-

“I’m sorry.”

What?

Definitely not what Jimin had expected. His head jerks up and to the younger as he turns around to face him. Jungkook stares back, his midnight eyes round and sparkly.

“Wh…what?” Jimin stammers out, fingers tightening over his robe even more, brain not completely comprehending what is happening.

“I-“

Jimin watches, alarmed as Jungkook chokes up and he lowers his head.

“I fucked up.”

“Wh-Jungkoo-“

“No, let me talk, please.” Jungkook interrupts, leaning his hip against the island counter.  He looks back up and Jimin’s expels a heartbroken breath when he sees the shimmer of tears in the dark depths.

“Tonight, I watched Yoongi and Taehyung say their vows and I just…. I just couldn’t stop thinking that that should’ve been us.”

Jimin’s eyes widen, breath seizing in his throat. Jungkook’s honesty and openness hits him like a wrecking ball against a brick wall, mostly in part due to the fact that Jungkook has always had issues talking about his feelings. When they were dating, Jimin usually had to spend time coaxing emotions out of him.

“I didn’t mean anything negative I’d said to you before you left, Jimin. You’re the kindest, most selfless person in my life. But by the time I’d worked up the courage to admit my own faults, you were long gone. And the longer I let the apology sit, the more I felt like I needed to not hold you back. I didn’t deserve your forgiveness. Who could hurt someone they love so fiercely?” Jungkook sniffles and wipes the back of one wrist across a cheek, taking with it the dampness on his skin.

“I…um, I need you to know that I really did-do support your dreams and your career. I kept up to date with your performances and you shine just as brightly as I knew you would.”

Jimin can’t utter a word to save his life. Jungkook…watched him perform?

“I- the reason I had tried to keep you with me was a selfish one, on my part. You were right. I was the self-centered one, not you. I was sad and my emotions were all over the place that day. Omma…well, I guess there's no reason to keep it hidden anymore, but omma had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and-“

“What?!” Jimin finds his voice, eyes immediately watering at the unexpected news. Jungkook’s mother? Jimin adores her. He hasn’t spoken to her since he’d left as well and now he feels guilt bubble up inside him, threatening to spill over.

“No, she’s ok now! Don’t cry, Jimin. It was small enough for the doctors to get to it in time-“

Jimin interrupts Jungkook’s words by slamming into him, arms winding around the taller male’s waist. He presses his face into the now-unfamiliar chest, but breathes in the same scent that never leaves his head.

“You’re a fucking moron, Jeon Jungkook,” Jimin whispers achingly, heart in his throat. “You’re so fucking stupid. How could you not tell me?”

He feels Jungkook’s arms go around him hesitantly and Jimin shudders through his tears.

“Mom asked me not to tell you…she knows the type of person you are – you’d stay in Seoul to help me care for her while Seokjin was still in the service. So I’d asked, maybe possibly try to persuade you to stay out of love for me. And I know how wrong that is now. When you really love someone, you cut the chain and let them fly, right?”

Jimin cries harder, muffling his sobs into Jungkook’s black shirt, hands fisting Jungkook’s suit jacket.

“N-no…y-you…cut the chain, sent me off and closed the windows so I couldn’t come back!” Jimin wails, punching at Jungkook’s form uselessly.

“I know, I know,” he hears Jungkook’s muffled voice in his hair. There’s despair in it, laced with pent up anguish and sadness. “I’m sorry. I’m so very sorry, Jimin. I wish I could go back and re-do that day, but I can’t. But I’m here now, and I just…” Jungkook drifts off and Jimin hiccups through his tears, only to feel them burgeon again as the taller slides a big hand into his hair, cupping the back of his skull. “I just…need to let you know that I love you, will never stop. I'm not expecting you to love me back, just…maybe forgive me in the future for my stupidity and fear for doing what I did to us-“

Jimin shushes him by raising on his tip toes and pulling Jungkook’s head down to his, meshing their lips together. The kiss is soft and wistful, full of sorrow and forgiveness, sprinkled with salty tangs of the bitter past being let go. Jimin doesn’t have it in him to be upset any more, especially after learning about Jungkook’s true reason for his emotional explosion two years ago. Truthfully, Jimin has long stopped being upset for Jungkook's outburst, he's just been sad to have lost the love of his life.

“Jungkook,” Jimin finally draws back, looking up into the dark, twinkling orbs that have always been his despair as well as solace. “I love you so much. There’s never been anyone else for me, pabo.”

Jungkook’s brow raises and he opens his mouth like he’s about to say something before he stops himself and offers Jimin a small smile instead.

“What? What is it?”

“It’s…you ran from me earlier, Jimin. I’m just a whole lot shocked and sorry that I caused you so much pain and distress-“

“Oh, Jungkook, no. No…” Jimin cups Jungkook’s cheek in one palm, thumb brushing gently against the smooth skin. “I didn’t run because of pain…I ran out of fear.”

“Fear?” Jungkook’s brows furrow deeper.

“Yes. Scared of my own feelings, of all the power you have over me. I saw you earlier and all the love I have for you that I thought I’d buried just resurfaced. I thought you were over me and just wanted to greet me as friends would and I wasn’t ready for that and I…I panicked…”

“Because you don’t see me as just a friend.” Jungkook finishes Jimin’s incomplete sentence and he nods, confirming the truth. “Just so you know…there hasn’t been anyone else for me either. I’m convinced you’re it for me, Park Jimin.”

Jimin looks up into Jungkook’s wonderful, familiar face and welcomes the other as his lips descend back down upon his own, closing up old wounds and opening a dam of memories never forgotten. He winds his arms around Jungkook’s neck as the kiss turns into teasing licks and nips. He gasps when he finds his feet suddenly off the ground as Jungkook hoists him up and he wraps his legs around the other’s trim waist to steady himself. Jimin takes a moment to stare into Jungkook’s eyes, to lose himself, to find himself. He doesn’t remember Jungkook being so strong, the unfamiliar muscles bulging in his arms a testament to more changes he’s missed out on. Jungkook’s chest is hard, shoulders broader, baby fat on his cheeks ceasing into chiseled jawlines and Jimin traces his small fingers over the taut skin, almost in awe that this is his baby. His sweet little Kookie who used to tail him around and hang off of him like a koala.

He can’t believe he’s missed so much. Missed this person, these feelings; it all comes crashing down and Jimin lets himself feel them all, moaning softly as Jungkook leans forward and ensnares his lips again before letting them travel down his neck to suck a mark into his delicate skin.

He stops though, and Jimin understands, so he encourages the younger to continue, to let him know that he wants this, he wants everything, all the new, all the old, all the things to come.

And when Jungkook takes him to his wide bed, Jimin kicks off his suitcase and piles of clothes with no care in the world, all he needs is the man who is holding him.

It's familiar, yet new and exciting as Jimin lets Jungkook undress him and then himself and as he watches Jungkook walk back to the bed with his nakedness on display, a thrill of anticipation carves up Jimin's spine. Not an ounce of the shy, nervous boy from his youth can be seen. This is all man, all male in warmth, flesh and blood.

Jimin wants to keep his eyes open, but they close by themselves, pleasure winning out when Jungkook presses his smaller form into the bed, wrapping his arms and love around and inside Jimin until he can barely breathe.

The bed rocks and dips in tandem to Jimin’s soft moans and Jungkook's pleased grunts as they erase the pain and the tears from yesterday with the love and the delight that has resurfaced in new waves.

Jimin's fingers trace over familiar skin and dotted territories, over new bumps and ridges, learning Jungkook all over again, heart reminding the mind that it will always win in the end; that love, when buried alive, is not dead, it just waits patiently to be unearthed again.

He finds his lips curving into smiles when Jungkook presses kisses onto his skin, branding him over and over and over again so that Jimin will know that he will always belong to Jungkook, just like how Jungkook is his.

And then their pleasure rocks them both from the middle of the sea back to shore, back to steady grounds and arms that have never let go, only loosened with misunderstandings.

--

Jimin cracks open an eye and he yawns into the morning sun rays before turning to bury his face into the pillow. He points his toes and raises his hands above his head to stretch only to almost scream when he feels soft, butterfly kisses rain down his bare shoulder. He freezes, mind racing to catch up with his heart that everything last night had been real.

Jimin flips onto his back rapidly, eyes catching upon Jungkook’s handsome face immediately as the other shifts and then leans over him. His lips fall open in awe as the sunlight illuminates Jungkook, causing shadows to rise in dips and curves.

“Hey.”

The husky morning voice is the best music Jimin has ever heard in all of his life.

“Jungkook.” Jimin whispers and then promptly wraps his arms around the taller, bringing him down so that he could properly hold him against his beating heart. “Jungkoo-ah. Saranghae.”

"I love you too, baby. I heard your alarm go off five minutes ago. Your flight-"

"It's ok. I don't need to go back to Paris for another week. I only intended to go home early because I...didn't expect this. Expect you."

Jungkook smiles and sits up, pulling Jimin up as well. "Go freshen up. I'm going to make us some coffee, ok?"

Jungkook's heart jumps to his throat at the adorable, sleepy, nod he gets in return.

-

Jimin enters the kitchen, freshly washed up, dressed in Jungkook's button up from last night, one button hooked together by his belly button, the tails hanging past mid-thigh. He had seen his clothes strewn everywhere on the carpeted floor but he'd wanted to feel close to Jungkook and had snagged this off the floor and onto his body immediately.

He sees the man of his dreams stirring two cups of coffee at the counter, broad, naked back to him, dressed in the only pair of sweats Jimin had packed to sleep in. Except, on Jungkook, they look sexy and good, the hems hitting perfectly instead of pooling and dragging like it usually sits on Jimin.

He practically skips over and wraps his arms around the slim torso, tucking his face into Jungkook's spine, letting the warmth of the other seep through his own skin. Jimin is the warmest he’s ever been in a long time and he doesn’t want to lose the feeling anytime soon.

The soft chuckle Jungkook emits vibrates against his face and Jimin finds himself smiling too.

They head to the bar counter with their coffees and Jungkook settles upon a stool. Jimin is about to move to the one next to him when he is promptly snatched and brought in between Jungkook's open legs, his back snuggled up tightly against the taller's chest. They remain like that for a bit, Jimin sipping on his hot coffee, Jungkook's chin hooked over his right shoulder.

"I can delay my vacation for another week. I don't want to leave you, but I guess we have a lot to figure out." Jimin finally mumbles out.

"Do you live on your own in Paris, Jimin?"

Jimin nods. "I have an 800 square feet loft apartment. It's a one bedroom with lots of open, natural lighting in a gorgeous location."

"That sounds big and airy."

"Mmm." Jimin hums out, wondering why Jungkook is asking about his living instead of asking about them.

"Big enough...for two?"

Jimin freezes, his mind trying to figure out if he'd heard Jungkook right. "What?" he finally pushes back and places his cup on the counter so he can look Jungkook in the face.

"Is it big enough for two? I mean...800 square foot is pretty big for a one bed-"

"Jungkook! What are you saying?" Jimin is too wound up for teasing and jokes.

Jungkook reaches out, takes Jimin's hands in his and pulls the smaller man back into his arms. "I'm saying, I'm tired of being away from you. It's been too long. I know you still have a year and some months left with your contract. Let me go with you. I can do my photography from anywhere and-"

"Yes. Yes, yes YES!" Jimin interrupts excitedly, cupping Jungkook's face in his small hands and  peppering kisses all over it. From cheeks to nose to forehead, he leaves not a space untouched, just like how Jungkook has done to his heart.

“You two take care and be careful. There’s heavy snow over there but I’m sure your cabin will be nice and cozy,” Seokjin pats Yoongi on his back as the newly wedded couple turn towards the ramp to get onto their private jet.

Seokjin, Namjoon and Hoseok are present, to see the couple off. Jungkook is supposed to meet with them but no one has heard a peep from him so everyone is assuming he’s nursing a hangover. As Jimin is preparing for his own flight back to Paris, no one expects him either.

So when the glass panels behind them slide open and they hear steps, they all turn in surprise, only to gawk at the view of both Jimin and Jungkook hurrying down the walkway towards them. Seeing them together is a shock, but what’s even more confounding is the air around the two as they giggle and look at one another, hands intertwined. Jungkook even manages to reach over and pull Jimin’s furry hoodie closer to his pink cheeks as they step in time with each other.

As they slow to a stop in front of their shocked, gawking friends, they hesitate a bit, clearly unsure how to break the news to them.

“Um. Excuse me. WE are the newlyweds here, not you two. Stop taking away the attention!”

Everyone starts giggling after Tae’s humorous exclamation.

“I’m glad to see you two have worked out the tiny problem you let fester into a mountain. Please don’t fight anymore.” Yoongi reaches out and hugs his little cousin, patting him on the back as Hoseok squeals and hugs Jimin tightly, blabbering about how happy he is to see them all together again.

“No worries, hyungs. I’m never letting Jiminie run away again.” Jungkook winks at Jimin as the elder gasps in mock indignation. But everyone can see the happiness in their faces.

With a few more goodbyes, the couple board their flight, and everyone steps back to wave them off. Jimin and Jungkook do the same, hands clasped tightly together. The cold, smoky layer of mist in their hearts have faded as they no longer orbit alone and now, a promise of everything is back in their future.

Notes:

Title is from a line in BTS' 134340 as well as other references throughout the story. Kudos to you if you caught them all!

A/N: This really started out as crack, but then the story veered on a path all it's own and kinda became an emotional vomit. >.<
Angst was short, hopefully no one cried!

And as always, forgive my typos and Thank You for reading. A kind word goes a long way and your comments and kudos always have me reeling.
