Work Text:
My small sushi is still small there,
Straight back, white t-shirt,
Sideways cut hair, black suspenders, a strand of black hair,
His small hand in mine,
Soft hand in calloused hand,
His tiger like gold eyes look his own death in the eye.
I wish I recognized earlier; that look.
My cute sushi became unrecognizable.
His face pale and sunken.
The paperwork stacked up high left to gather dusts.
He went somewhere without me.
Somewhere dark and unknown, never coming back.
But there he is still,
In the photo with me on our happiest day,
He is still here, forever in my memories.
