Laced With Honey

Summary:

Alpha Jeon Jungkook really really fucking hates art history. It's such a pointless class. Why did he even need it if he's a business major? Jungkook asks himself these questions over and over as he makes his way to the useless elective.

That is, until he finally gets there and is faced with the most stunning omega he's ever seen. And of course, the beautiful omega is none other than his professor.

Just great.

“And may I ask what your name is?” the man questions with that sweet, oddly enticing voice as he pushes his glasses up and scans the paper in front of him.

“It’s Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook.”

“Well Jeon Jungkook," the professor says, putting on the sweetest smile the alpha has ever seen, "it’s nice of you to finally arrive. These nice seats in the front were waiting just for you.”

Jungkook tongues his cheek, scoffing in disbelief as he shakes his head, causing his raven black hair to brush against his cheeks. “I’m sure they were professor,” he grunts out.

This was going to be fun.

Chapter Text

Scarlet red eyes blaze back at Jungkook as his body pulses with the music.

He watches his long, muscular body twist and turn to the tempo in the giant mirror, never missing a step of the difficult choreography.

He dances on, taking special care towards the end to not get sloppy. The music softens as he calms his movements, letting his long black hair fall onto his face for dramatic effect before him and his classmates come to a stop, chests' heaving in an attempt to catch their breaths.

"Great job everybody, that's all for today!" Hoseok claps as he makes his way over to the sound system, cutting off the music with a pleased smile decorating his features.

“Shit that was intense,” Jungkook pants as he bends forward, hands resting on his knees as he catches his breath. His nose scrunches up as he notices the scents of all the dancers swirling together, creating a mass of unpleasant stench. The only one that really sticks out belongs to his omega best friend, the floral scent sweet, but overpowering from all the exercise.

Jungkook looks back up at his reflection in the floor to ceiling mirror, noticing the saturated red of his irises fading back to a deep brown as his body calms.

He’s covered in sweat, his black tee and loose joggers sticking to him like a second skin, doing nothing to hide the outline of his abs. The sleeve of tattoos decorating his arm gleams under the bright lighting with each movement he makes, making the designs and words seemingly dance on his skin.

The alpha always loved the burning sensation under his skin that dancing gave him. How he can feel every beat move through his body while the music guides him, like a high he never wants to come down from.

Jungkook is hands down the best dancer in his whole school, and he knows it, which only inflates his alpha pride even more.

He loves being the best.

“You’re one to talk. Imagine how I feel considering what Yoongi-"

“God, Jimin please,” Jungkook spits out as a high pitched laugh escapes the smaller boy, catching the attention of their classmates. The boy’s light pink hair falls in sweaty heaps over his pale skin as he smiles mischievously at Jungkook, the taller alpha staring daggers back.

Despite how cute and innocent Jimin seems, he’s a devil.

Jimin was always too mouthy when it comes to, well, anything. Jungkook can’t count how many times the omega has overshared and scarred him with much too detailed accounts of their sex life. Not to mention how Jimin was always on a personal mission to find Jungkook a mate.

“Okay okay I’ll stop. I know you’re just jealous because you’re not getting laid,” Jimin smirks as he slings his bag over his shoulder.

“I can get a good fuck whenever I want, I mean look at me, I'm pure sex.” Jungkook remarks dramatically as he combs through his sweaty black locks with his tattooed hand.

Jimin rolls his eyes. "Keep telling yourself that.”

Jungkook shrugs as he pulls out his phone, disregarding the shorter boy.

Jin-hyung

Good luck on your first day of art class!! The professor is a friend of Joon’s so don't embarrass me. Make me proud Guk!

“Fuck me,” Jungkook sighs a little louder than necessary as he shoves his phone back into his pocket.

“Everything okay?” Jimin notices the younger's irritation without having to look up, Jungkook’s scent giving it away as it turns bitter.

Having an alpha as a best friend, especially Jungkook as that alpha, was a challenge sometimes. Any other omega near Jungkook would shrink back from the slightest hint of irritation, his entire being demanding respect and submission, but Jimin had long ago gotten used to the other's rapid mood swings so almost none of it had an effect on him.

“I forgot about that stupid art class starting today. How am I supposed to sit in a class full of a bunch of Van Gogh wannabes?” Jungkook spits out, dreading the thought of sitting through something so pointless.

“You're thinking of studio art idiot, we're in art history. It's two different things. I swear to god Jeon Jungkook, you are the most dramatic alpha I know.”

Jungkook bristles at the comment, the primal part of him not appreciating being spoken to that way, but he pushes the feeling down, brushing it off with a grunt.

“Whatever, you know what I meant,” he bites back.

“Listen, it’s not like you’re gonna be alone, I’ll be with you! And I hear the professor is like… really hot.” Jimin winks at him, letting a devious smile play on his features.

“I don’t think Yoongi hyung would approve of you saying that,” Jungkook says with a shake of his head.

“Why would Yoongi be jealous? The professor is an omega … a fucking hot omega.” Jimin wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.

Jungkook pretends to be annoyed, but he can't deny Jimin's words pique his interest a little.

The other whips out his phone, holding it in his small hands as he aggressively types something out before his eyes light up, seemingly finding what he was searching for.

“His name is Kim Taehyung. He’s only 27, and he graduated with a masters degree in art history from Yonsei university.”

“How the fuck do you know all of that?” Jungkook asks, turning to the other with a look of bewilderment.

Jimin holds his phone up to Jungkook's face, practically making him go cross-eyed as he tries to make sense of the words on the screen.

“Rate my professor! He has great reviews too, but that’s besides the point. Stop freaking out, this class is going to be easy and fun with me in it, obviously.” Jimin states with so much enthusiasm it’s disgusting.

“Well, good thing I don’t care.” Jungkook takes a huge gulp from his water bottle, not really giving two shits either way. After all, someone who studies art history must be the most boring person ever.

Jimin can't help when another eye roll crosses his features, “Whatever Jungkookie, you should get changed, you look like a wet dog," he says as giggle spills past his lips, “get it?”

A look of fake exasperation decorates Jungkook's features, he has to give credit to Yoongi for being able to put up with his best friend.

The couple had met three years ago when Jimin was a freshman in college, and have been inseparable since… annoyingly inseparable. But he honestly has to admit he's never seen two people more perfect for each other.

Disgusting mates, he thinks to himself.

“Alright, I’m gonna head out, I’m meeting Yoongi for lunch. I’ll see you in a few hours, okay?” Jimin yells over his shoulder as he rushes out the dance studio doors.

“Yup can’t wait!” Jungkook yells back in the most sarcastic tone he can manage before Jimin throws a dirty look over his shoulder.

The alpha goes to gather up all of his stuff before making his way out, until a loud, cheery voice stops him, a citrusy scent invading his senses. God, that smell is awful… it isn't anything personal, Jungkook just hates the scents of other alphas.

“Jungkook-ah!”

He turns around to be greeted by his dance instructor walking up to him, a blinding smile decorating the other's face.

“What’s up Hoseok-ssi?”

“Amazing job today, as usual. You've improved since last class,” the alpha says as he pats Jungkook on the back.

Hoseok has been his dance instructor for about a year now and other than Jungkook, he was the best dancer around. It had been rough the first few weeks after meeting the other, after all it wasn't everyday Jungkook found another alpha that could even begin to challenge him, but the tension eventually died down as they got to know each other. Now, he genuinely admires and respects the elder's talent.

"Ah thank you, I worked on what you told me to."

“Good, it definitely helped," Hoseok smiles at the younger. "I just wanted to know if you were still coming by the studio later for some extra practice?”

Jungkook tongues the inside of his cheek, mentally going over his schedule for the day, and then he remembers.

Fucking art history.

“Yeah I'll drop by, I’ll need some type of stress relief later,” Jungkook jokes, but internally he means every word.

Hoseok furrows his eyebrows, his blinding grin dying down a little. "What's got you stressed?”

“Just art class,” Jungkook answers simply, not really wanting to drag out the conversation.

Hoseok laughs, loud and obnoxious at his words, finding it hilarious someone like Jungkook would take an art class. The kid loathed sitting still.

“Okay I’m sorry, but you? In an art class?” Hoseok questions, trying to catch his breath from laughing so hard. “The almighty Jeon Jungkook has to take an art class!”

Jungkook doesn't know whether or not to be offended at the other finding it so unbelievable he could be good at art, but he ignores it for now, stamping down his growing irritation in favor of trying to escape this conversation to go relax.

“Um okay, I’m leaving now so bye.” Jungkook waves, trying to walk away without his annoyance peeking through his expression.

"Ah don't be irritated, I’m just playing with you. It’ll be fine, kid.”

Jungkook bristles at the nickname, not caring for how comfortable the other alpha was using such a demeaning name on him.

“Don’t call me that,” Jungkook lowly rumbles in warning, his scent spiking as his irritation noticeably heightens.

“Okay okay fine," Hoseok puts up his hands to alleviate the tension, long used to Jungkook’s temperamental nature. "Anyways, what I was trying to say is if you’re coming by later I might not be here. If I’m not, there’s a key I’ll leave down at the office for you.”

“Do you have a special date or something?” Jungkook sarcastically questions, not actually wanting, or expecting an answer.

Hoseok winks, “If that’s what you want to think. Text me if you need anything!" With that the dance instructor bounces off with that same sunshine smile on his face.

Jungkook shakes his head as he makes his way out of the studio, still able to hear the echo of that loud laugh as he makes his way down the hall.

He absentmindedly makes his way to his car, the pleasant buzz from dancing still underneath his skin as he drifts throughout the halls and into the warm sun.

As Jungkook walks through the campus he notices the stares of alphas, betas, and omegas alike, and after all, he can't blame them. He would stare at him too if he were one of them. Jungkook would be lying to himself if he said he didn't love being an alpha. He was simply born to fulfill the role. Sure, in his teen years he had been awkward and shy, but the amazing omegas in his life helped him come out of his shell as he matured into the strong alpha he is. He really did owe so much of himself to Jin and Jimin.

Him and Jimin have been best friends since he can remember, while Jin came along later in his life and suddenly became the weird parental figure he never had or wanted but apparently needed. With Jungkook’s dad being too consumed in running his many businesses and his mom constantly fucking off to god knows where, Jungkook hadn’t exactly had the most attentive parents.

Jungkook is snapped out of his thoughts as he feels his phone vibrate in his pocket. A smile graces his lips, already knowing exactly who it would be.

Incoming call

Jin-hyung

“Hello?” Jungkook answers.

“Jeon Jungkook!! I’m going to kill you for not responding to my text message. Did you even see it? How dare you ignore your hyung!”

Jungkook cringes from how loud Jin is speaking (more like yelling), as he pulls the phone away from his ear.

"God, hyung you’re being too loud! And yes I did see it, I just forgot to respond because I was talking to Jimin and Hoseok-ssi.”

“Ah, I see. They’re more important than me? The one who looks after you and makes sure you’re well fed."

Jungkook scoffs, practically feeling the other pouting on the end of the line, “Hyung, don’t talk to me like I’m a child. I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself.”

“I will once you stop talking back to me like that. Don’t forget my mate is the head of your school.”

Jungkook just smirks, finding Jin's antics ridiculous but endearing, the omega just couldn't help his nurturing streak.

“It's funny you think that's a threat hyung. So what’s up?” He asks, pulling his keys out of his bag to unlock his car.

Jungkook smiles, picturing the face of disbelief on Jin at his smart ass remark. “God, Jungkook you're impossible. I was just checking in to make sure everything was okay. Have you seen Joon at all? He was asking about you.”

“No, I haven’t. I’m sure I’ll bump into him later on campus though. I’m headed back to my place to take a nap before this dumbass class.” Jungkook answers as he climbs into the cherry red McLaren. It glistens in the sunlight, the beaming red practically glowing amongst the other average cars, but Jungkook barely takes notice as he throws his bag in the passenger seat carelessly.

“Agh Guk, don’t be like that. Like I said, don’t embarrass me! The professor is a good friend of Namjoon’s, I know you’ll do just fine. Oh, and don’t oversleep! Keep me updated, okay?”

“Okay I will, bye hyung.”

Jungkook can’t help but grin after he hangs up.

Jungkook jolts awake as he belatedly becomes aware of the alarm blaring next to his face.

With a grunt he grabs his phone to slide off the alarm, noticing the time through his sleepy gaze.

“What the fuck,” he slurs out as he rubs his eyes and looks at his phone again.

4 missed calls from Jimin

11 unread messages

With an exasperated sigh he opens his messages to see an explosion of texts from Jimin.

Jimin

Um are you otw?

Suddenly all at once, it hits him.

“Oh FUCK I'm so late!” Jungkook yells as he stumbles out of his bed and throws on whatever clean sweatshirt he can find, along with some sweatpants and timberlands. His hair is a hot mess, but he doesn’t have time to fix it as he grabs his backpack and practically sprints out of his apartment, almost forgetting to lock the door behind him.

Jungkook gets into the elevator and jams the button to the ground floor, anxiously tapping his foot as the elevator makes its slow descent. It stops at the fifth floor, dinging before the doors open to let on an elderly couple.

"For fucks sake," Jungkook mutters under his breath, his eyebrows furrowing in impatience as the couple slowly creeps onto the elevator before the doors finally shut.

When the doors open on the ground level, the alpha practically sprints through the lavish lobby to get to his car. He unlocks it before violently ripping the door open and throwing his stuff inside and speeding off, probably driving the fastest he's ever gone before.

And that’s saying something.

Exactly seven minutes later Jungkook finds himself pulling into a parking spot, where he sprints across campus to the building the class is being held in. As he runs he pulls out his phone and frantically searches for what room number the class is in, almost running into people as he navigates the campus on his phone.

“Room 356… shit I have to climb all those stairs!" Jungkook grumbles to himself before throwing open the doors to the building, his chest heaving as he rounds the corner to see the multiple flights of stairs he has to climb.

This can’t get any worse.

He takes the steps two at a time, the exercise doing nothing to fatigue his strong legs as he finally reaches the floor the class is on.

Jungkook stops for a minute to catch his breath as he looks around for the right room, noticing an oddly pleasing, silky voice coming from one of the rooms nearby.

He moves to walk towards the soothing voice echoing in the hall, coming to a stop when he’s in front of room 356, exactly where the voice is coming from.

Jungkook stands in front of the door, hesitating for a moment. It's not like he had any problem with being the center of attention, he was used to it. But this… this was different. It was embarrassing coming to class 15 minutes late on the first day. Jungkook is an alpha after all dammit. He has a reputation to keep up.

After standing there for a few more seconds to compose himself, Jungkook faces the inevitable. “Fuck it,” he says as he wrenches the door open and walks in confidently, every eye in the lecture hall suddenly turning towards him.

The room isn’t very big, but it's full. The lecture hall could easily fit upwards of 50 people, and all the seats are taken, leaving only the very front row.

Jungkook snaps his sharp eyes up to find Jimin somewhere in the crowd. When he spots the other covering his mouth to stifle a giggle spilling past his lips, he sends him a dirty look that would have anyone else shrinking back.

The alpha makes his way deeper into the classroom, when something suddenly hits him, something strong. His head becomes fuzzy and his instincts sharpen as the most appealing scent he's ever come across engulfs him.

For a moment Jungkook is slightly disoriented as he searches the room for the source of intoxicating scent. Despite the room being full of people the only thing he could focus on is the sweet smell of honey mixed with something slightly minty, but just as equally captivating.

He shakes his head, trying to clear his thoughts as his own scent spikes at the odd sensation, his petrichor and musky scent only intensifying, which has every omega in the room snapping to attention, while the alphas look on with growing discomfort.

At that moment, his attention is drawn towards the front of the classroom, to that deep, soothing voice he heard just minutes before.

“Since it’s the first day I’d like to just start off wi-"

Jungkook locks eyes with the professor, effectively stopping him mid-sentence, and the alpha realizes this is where the scent is coming from. He stares at the omega standing at the head of the room, taking in his fluffy blonde hair that falls perfectly into his face, accentuating his dark eyebrows that frame the most beautiful eyes Jungkook has ever seen.

He really doesn't give a shit if he's ogling or not at this point, Jungkook can't look away from the other. How his circular glasses sit on top of his cute nose, his creamy skin so soft looking in the natural light filtering in through the small windows. Jungkook’s gaze drifts back up to lock onto the omega’s eyes, and for a split second, he sees a flash of brilliant blue that must compliment the dark red breaking through his own irises. But it's gone as quick as it comes, and Jungkook finds himself thinking, this is the most beautiful omega I've ever seen.

“And may I ask what your name is?” the man questions with that sweet, oddly enticing voice as he pushes his glasses up and scans the paper in front of him.

“It’s Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook,” the alpha states, still taken aback by his own reaction to the omega standing in front of him.

“Well Jeon Jungkook," the professor says, putting on the sweetest smile the alpha has ever seen, "it’s nice of you to finally arrive. These nice seats in the front were waiting just for you.”

The omega’s words snap Jungkook out of his reverie, what did he just say?

Jungkook cocks an eyebrow, his inner alpha bristling at the passive aggressive remark thrown his way. A low rumble threatens to spill from his mouth before he stamps down his instincts, instead letting the annoyance settle on his features as his scent involuntarily spikes, making his reaction evident to the whole class.

Jungkook doesn't like anyone speaking to him that way.

He tongues his cheek, scoffing in disbelief as he shakes his head, causing his raven black hair to brush against his cheeks. “I’m sure they were professor ,” he grunts out.

Jungkook walks towards the seats right at the front of the classroom, which are coincidentally the closest ones to the stunning omega, who looks less than impressed right now. Every eye in the lecture hall follows him, everyone on high alert at the strong alpha in such a disgruntled state.

As Jungkook makes his way he quickly looks up to see Jimin staring at him with wide eyes, mouthing something inaudible that he can't understand, so he throws a passive look his way and continues walking.

The professor stands patiently waiting for Jungkook to take his seat, his slender arms folded over his chest as the alpha approaches.

As Jungkook draws closer to the omega, he holds his gaze, his dark eyes unwavering as he silently asserts his dominance, causing the other look away.

He mutters a low "excuse me" right next to the professor’s face as he slips past him to reach the front row, taking his seat with a smug expression on his face.

Jungkook notices that the professor doesn't have a mating mark on his neck. The thought making an unexpected rush of excitement run through him, no doubt causing his scent to intensify, but the other gives no hints at being affected by Jungkook's proximity, which hurts his pride just a little bit.

Taehyung resumes where he left off, like there was never an interruption to begin with. “As I was saying, with today being the first day of class, I’d like to just start off by introducing myself. As most of you already know from reading the syllabus--" Jungkook, in fact, did not read the syllabus, "--my name is Kim Taehyung. You can all call me professor Kim or Taehyung-ssi whichever works. This is my first year teaching here, but I have been teaching for almost 2 years now,” he states looking around at the whole class, the whole class except Jungkook…

Which bothers the alpha for some weird reason. He doesn’t like how he can’t seem to catch Taehyung’s eye no matter how many times he shifts in his seat.

Ah right, Taehyung , Jungkook thinks to himself. He had been wracking his brain trying to remember the name Jimin had said several hours ago.

His penetrating gaze doesn't leave the omega for even a second as he talks about the class and what was expected of them, all of which goes straight over Jungkook's head. He was just too busy appreciating how gorgeous Taehyung is. His cute glasses fall down his nose once in a while causing him to push them back up, his beige suit jacket hugged his lithe body just right, making the alpha's mouth practically water.

"Alright that's all for the syllabus, does anyone have any questions? No? Okay let's dive into unit one starting with the rise of Neoclassical art in Europe," Taehyung gestures towards the projector with a picture of what looks like a constipated man posing on a horse.

This is boring already, Jungkook thinks to himself as he slouches back into his chair, spreading his long legs out in front of him as he crosses his arms and gets comfortable. Taehyung catches the movement out of the corner of his eye, causing a smirk to play across Jungkook's features as he listens to the professor drone on about how some ugly art defined some nation or other, but god who cares?

He notices how the rest of the students behind him rustle through their bags for notebooks, diligently taking notes as the professor starts to run through information, but once again, Jungkook can’t bring himself to care. Not with how distracted he was just watching Taehyung talk.

But eventually Jungkook zones out, his mind wandering to the fact that he doesn’t understand why he has to take this class when his major is business. Business may be boring too but at least it was useful and challenging, and Jungkook always loved a challenge. His limits being pushed and tested always brought a different type of excitement, but this, this was anything but that.

Oh well, at least something here is pretty to look at, Jungkook inwardly quips.

"Jungkook do you plan on writing any of this down?"

He's pulled out of his daydream by Taehyung questioning him in front of the entire class, again

Jungkook just puts on a sickly sweet smile that doesn't reach his eyes, showing his perfect teeth.

"No I don't, it's already all up here," Jungkook taps his index finger on his head, not breaking eye contact as Taehyung subtly rolls his eyes, only letting Jungkook catch the movement. God, the blatant disrespect makes his inner alpha absolutely seethe, only wanting to make the pretty omega submit, but he doesn’t miss the odd rush of excitement that runs through him.

Thankfully Taehyung drops it and keeps going, leaving him to sulk over his hurt pride. Jungkook doesn't know how he's going to survive this semester without being kicked out over this gutsy omega.

As the professor picks up where he left off, Jungkook tries not to think about how his name had sounded coming from the other's mouth. God, that silky voice coming from those pretty pink lips, it affected Jungkook to the point of it being pathetic.

Jungkook stops his train of thought, not wanting to pop a boner over his fucking art history professor in front of the whole class, so he gets comfortable again and zones out, not realizing it's time to go until he hears the sound of bags zipping in unison and people shuffling out of the classroom.

The alpha looks around to spot Jimin, hoping to see the other before he gets lost in the crowd, but before he can even turn around he feels a hard smack on the back of his head.

Jungkook jolts at the unexpected feeling, whipping around in a frenzy before spotting the culprit.

Jimin lets out a high pitched giggle, finding the affronted look on Jungkook amusing, that is until the alpha opens his mouth.

"What the fuck was that for?” Jungkook snaps out, anger evident on his face as his voice booms much louder than necessary, clearly signaling he wasn't in the mood for a joke right now.

Jimin shrinks back on instinct, realizing that the alpha was more pissy than usual. He knows when Jungkook has had enough, it’s better to stay out of his way.

"Sorry, that was for being late…" Jimin says apologetically.

Jungkook jerkily rubs the back of his head, his scowl not lightening, “whatever, I’m ready to leave now so let’s go."

They begin to make their way out of the room before Jimin stops them with a hand on Jungkook's arm, "hold on I’ll be right back."

Jungkook just rolls his eyes, choosing to wait by the door as Jimin happily walks towards the man at the front of the room.

“Taehyung-ssi! I just wanted to say it was nice to meet you! I think I'll like this class. It's very interesting,” Jimin says excitedly, showing the other a bright smile.

“Oh thank you, what was your name again?”

"Jimin, Park Jimin!"

"I’ll remember that," Taehyung shows his own boxy smile, completely in awe of the adorable omega.

Jungkook tries not to notice how beautiful Taehyung’s smile is, but it’s hard when he can barely keep himself from staring like a creep. It only infuriates him even more to know that the omega also happens to have the most amazing smile he’s ever seen.

Just great.

After a minute, Jungkook is getting increasingly impatient, the honey and mint smell once again getting overwhelming now that everyone is gone. The bored look on his face morphs into another scowl as he sees the elder smile at Jimin again .

It’s so fucking beautiful.

This couldn't get any worse.

Taehyung notices the movement over by the door and doesn't have to look to know it's that alpha.

“Your boyfriend over there looks impatient, you um, better get going." Taehyung says before taking off his glasses, the many rings decorating his thin fingers reflecting the sunlight.

Jimin belts out that high pitched laugh and points his finger towards the alpha approaching them. “Him? Oh no he’s not my boyfriend. I don’t think I could ever-"

Jungkook steps up to the pair, clearly annoyed, “you’re right, I’m not, thank fucking god. Can we go now please? ” He practically demands, using a rougher voice than usual to get the point across.

Both of the omegas wince, not really being able to help it with how aggressive Jungkook is being.

“Okay, Guk calm down,” Jimin softly coos, confused as to why the younger is acting like this.  “Well, we’ll see you next time!” Jimin waves as he and Jungkook make their way out.

“Jungkook what the fuck was that about? Why are you acting like this? You know how uncomfortable it makes everyone, especially omegas!" Jimin loses it at the other once they’re out of the classroom. He had always tried to tell Jungkook growing up never to abuse his rank, which the younger almost never did, but apparently today he threw everything to the wind.

Jimin stands tapping his foot in impatience, waiting for Jungkook to say something.

Jungkook lets out a deep sigh, knowing his best friend is right, but he couldn't help it, he felt all thrown off and it probably had something to do with that professor.

"Look, I'm sorry Jimin, I guess I'm just tired today," Jungkook says trying to dispel all the angry tension.

"Well still Guk, that's not an excuse to literally have the entirety of the class on edge just because you can't control your alpha hormones or whatever it is!" Jimin murmurs out, his irritation dispelling at the other's passive tone. He would question the alpha more later.

"I know, Chim."

They make their way down the hall and stairs before stepping out onto the sunny campus.

"I'm done with classes for the day, are you going back to the dance studio?" Jimin questions as he squints his eyes against the warm sun.

"Yeah, I want to run through my solo again," Jungkook answers automatically, not really paying attention to the conversation.

Jimin picks up on the other's weird mood, deciding to just leave it alone for now, "okay well text me? I’m going to see Yoongi now so I’ll see you later."

"Okay, bye."

Jungkook continues on, taking in his surroundings to distract himself from the day's earlier events. The late August sun is shining through the trees, painting the leaves a brilliant green as they create a canopy of shade over the walkways. Jungkook breathes in the crisp air, refreshing his mind as he makes his way back to the performing arts building. He could always count on dancing to clear his head.

Jungkook enters the large glass building where he makes his way to the expansive dance studio, opening the door to find Hoseok is still there and internally thanks the universe he doesn't have to walk all the way down to the office for the key. Today was exhausting enough.

“I’m back Hoseok-ssi,” Jungkook announces as he throws his bag on the floor and begins to stretch. “Shouldn’t you be on your date ,” Jungkook questions as he gives the other alpha an inquisitive look from his position on the floor.

The instructor just laughs as he crosses his arms and leans against the wall, “He’s late, as usual. Why don’t you show me your full solo while I’m waiting? I don’t think I’ve seen it yet.”

Jungkook gets up from where he was stretching, “Uh, I don’t know… I still have to work on it. I’m not fully satisfied with it yet.”

“C’mon, it’s just me and you. You know I won’t judge,” Hoseok winks, already making his way to turn on the music.

"Your entire job is based on judging," Jungkook quips back, not really wanting to dance for anyone right now but he didn't have much of a choice.

The catchy, sultry notes of Rainism fill the air as Jungkook takes his starting position. The English lyrics repeat over and over as he begins to step and roll his body to the beat of the music. Jungkook watches himself in the mirror, paying special attention to his footing as he hits every mark. His heart beats faster and faster the longer he dances, the subtle movements of his body looking effortless as Jungkook gets completely caught up in the music.

That's probably why he doesn't notice the door opening right before he walks in.

Half way through the dance the scent of honey and mint assault Jungkook's senses once again, making his mind go fuzzy, and when he looks up, those beautiful golden eyes are watching him in the mirror.

The omega looks different outside of the classroom, the aura of authority more subdued as Taehyung watches him with curiosity and awe. He isn't wearing the suit jacket anymore, instead only dressed in a white button up shirt that shows his tiny waist.

Jungkook doesn't miss the penetrating look the other regards him with as he watches the alpha's body move to the music, pushing Jungkook to dance even harder. Pent up energy and frustration flow through him as his movements become sharper and stronger, emphasizing every step with a thrust or roll of his body. Jungkook doesn't take his eyes off of the other in the mirror, and it isn't long until Taehyung can't help it anymore and he looks up to meet his heated gaze. They lock eyes as Jungkook smoothly rolls his hips again, his hooded gaze blazing red when he sees another flash of blue cross the other's irises, the sweet scent of honey and mint intensifying as the air between them is charged.

This time it definitely isn't just Jungkook's imagination…

After what feels like an eternity, the music comes to an end, finally letting Jungkook catch his breath as he runs his hand through his black wavy hair, sweat already trickling down his forehead despite the short dance.

He looks away from the omega with a devilish smirk before pulling off his black hoodie, the shirt underneath it riding up to reveal his toned abs. The alpha breathes a deep sigh of relief as he throws the hoodie off to the side, already feeling much cooler now that the material is gone, yeah, that was definitely why he took it off.

He sees Taehyung drag his eyes down his body, not missing how his breath hitches upon being caught staring. Jungkook just smirks again, internally preening at his effect on the other.

“Taehyung-ah, you’re finally here!!” Hoseok yells, effectively breaking the tension that was building between the two.

The instructor excitedly walks over to Taehyung to greet him before hugging the other, his overwhelming citrusy scent marring the omega’s, pulling a scowl from Jungkook.

An uncomfortable feeling stirs in Jungkook's gut, the view of another alpha touching Taehyung causes something to blaze inside of him, but he has no idea what, or why… He just wants those pretty honey eyes on him.

Before he really considers his words, Jungkook finds himself being unnecessarily aggressive for the billionth time that day.

" This is your hot date?” he scoffs, sarcasm dripping from his tone as he raises his eyebrow at the couple.

Taehyung turns to Hoseok, confusion painting his features, ignoring the fact the younger alpha had basically just insulted him. "Excuse me, date?" he questions with an unamused look.

Hoseok bursts into that loud laughter again, finding the expressions on their faces hilarious, which only get better as he laughs maniacally.

"I don't actually have a date Jungkook-ah, this is my good friend Kim Taehyung.”

The feeling of relief that blossoms in Jungkook's chest is more disconcerting than anything, why the fuck do I care?

“Taehyung, this is Jungkook. My best student out of all of my classes, but don’t tell anyone I said that.” Hoseok introduces as he pulls the younger towards them, presenting the alpha like a trophy.

Jungkook just stares at the omega, not really caring enough to say anything, more like too enamoured to say anything.

Thankfully, Taehyung is much quicker on his feet.

“Yeah we met earlier, Jungkook is in my art history class," Taehyung says with an air of nonchalance, seeming completely unfazed by their meeting.

Meanwhile Jungkook is boring holes into the other with his gaze, the omega's calmness completely throwing him off.

"Yeah, I seem to recall you found it necessary to call me out in front of the entire class twice, Taehyung-ssi." Jungkook emphasizes the syllables in the other's name, his tone borderline mocking, but once again, Taehyung's face remains neutral which drives Jungkook absolutely fucking insane.

"Maybe don't be late next time? Then I won't have any reason to, even hot headed alphas don't get a break in my class."

A low rumble bubbles up in Jungkook's throat, his scent spiking at the other's tone. Omega's knew not to provoke alpha's like this but Taehyung didn't seem to give a shit. Which only drew Jungkook in even more.

Jungkook steps forward, the low rumble now audible, causing Taehyung to shrink back.

Just as the alpha opens his mouth to growl something out--

"That's enough Jungkook! Back up kid," Hoseok demands with the firmest voice Jungkook has ever heard him use. He takes in the other alpha's state, noticing how protective he seems of his friend. The anger burns hot in Jungkook but he knows how to choose his battles, now isn’t the time.

The two leave afterwards with a curt goodbye before finally letting Jungkook be by himself. He blares music as loud as it will go, letting the beat tune out the rest of the world as he dances off his energy. All the pent up anger and frustration only fueling his skill as he lands moves perfectly. His body moves through the steps on instinct, his mind only thinking about the pretty omega, his sharp tongue and defiant eyes, a perfect match for Jungkook.

This is going to be fun.

It's only been a week. One goddamn week and Jungkook was beginning to lose it. Going to class almost every day and smelling that same scent, seeing those same eyes, and god, Taehyung only got more and more beautiful as time went on. At this point Jungkook doesn't even care about how enamoured he is with the omega. He had gotten a hand around himself multiple times in the past week thinking about the honey eyes and pink lips etched into his memory.

And to top it all off, Jungkook was doing terrible in the class. He would space out admiring the other's features and before he knew it, he was failing quizzes and writing assignments, not having any idea what the fuck any of these artworks are supposed to mean.

Now is one of those times. Jungkook had completely forgotten about the quiz today, leaving him to stare blankly at the untouched sheet of paper in front of him.

"Fuck it," he murmurs under his breath before roughly circling some answers and writing bullshit about what "Baroque" is supposed to be.

Getting up from his seat he makes his way to the front, which isn’t exactly a long walk, before coming to a stop in front of Taehyung's desk.

The other looks up at him, surprise painting his delicate features at someone finishing so quickly as he takes the sheet from Jungkook. It only takes a glance at his work for Taehyung to raise an eyebrow at him, obviously unimpressed by the nonsensical answers on the sheet.

Irritation flows through the alpha, irritation at himself, at Taehyung, at this stupid class he has to take that was messing up his entire existence.

Jungkook doesn't wait to hear how terrible he did, it was embarrassing enough Taehyung thinking he was stupid, so he turns on his heel and leaves, not sparing another glance at Taehyung or Jimin before rushing out.

He makes his way out the door and through the halls, not really registering where he's going, his mind too preoccupied by the insecurities that are swirling in his mind. Jungkook felt so stupid, which is something he isn't accustomed to feeling. Since when did he care what other people thought about him? And it didn't help that he had a full blown crush on his professor of all people.

As Jungkook makes his way outside his phone goes off in his pocket, effectively snapping him out of his thoughts.

Jin-hyung

Come over for dinner, I’m making your favorite ;)

Ok sounds good

Jungkook slides his phone back into his pocket with a deep sigh as he makes his way back to his car.

Maybe seeing Jin and Namjoon would take his mind off of things.

A couple hours later, Jungkook is standing in front of the lavish apartment. He knocks on the door, only a second going by before he hears a loud “it’s open!”

He opens the door, the familiar scent of roses and books wafting towards him as he removes his shoes before making his way into the large, modern living room. The space is tastefully decorated with subtle neutrals, while the living room is split by a huge dark leather couch facing the mounted TV. The smell of Kimchi Jjigae roams throughout the apartment, practically making Jungkook's mouth water. Nothing could compare to Jin's cooking.

With the kitchen being directly across from the living room, Jin turns his attention from the stove to Jungkook as he makes his way in.

"My little Jungkookie!! I missed you,” Jin coos, wrapping his long arms around Jungkook before squeezing the living daylights out of him.

The other may be an omega, but he sure as hell was a strong one.

“Hyung! Don't call me that, it's weird… I'm not exactly little,” Jungkook whines, not actually caring about the pet name. He was used to how crazy the omega was.

“Don’t be a baby. You should be more respectful to me," Jin says as he sticks out his plush lower lip, attempting to make a pouty face.

Jungkook just sighs and rolls his eyes for the tenth time that day, “sorry, hyung. I’m just not in the mood.”

Jin gives him a pointed look, “Oh? Is something on your mind?” the other asks with genuine concern. It was rare for Jungkook to be in an off mood. Sure, he was a natural born pain in the ass, but he was usually happy or… civil at least.

"Nah, everything is fine. Where’s Namjoon-hyung?” Jungkook asks, quickly changing the topic before sitting down on the comfortable leather couch.

“He should be here any minute, he had to do a few extra things at the office,” the omega sighs, “I’m gonna go finish up the Jjigae, it should be done soon.” Jin says as he makes his way back to the gleaming kitchen.

Jungook gives him a small smile, doing his best to not let his bad mood affect the other.

He moves to lie down on the couch, letting the cool leather soothe his burning skin as he stretches, letting out the pent up tension in his muscles. Jungkook closes his eyes, trying to quiet his mind and relax, which apparently for him is now impossible. He is so tired, and even being around Jin wasn't stopping his mind from running a mile a minute, but he keeps his eyes shut anyway.

After a while Jungkook suddenly feels his mind quiet, and his body physically relax. He lets out a low hum, a content feeling settling in his chest as he turns on his side. A calming scent breaks through the chaos in his head as he takes a deep breath in, letting the intoxicating scent overwhelm his senses, intensifying the pleasant hum in his chest even more.

Oh my god.

The alpha shoots up from his position on the couch with wide eyes as he looks around the apartment, his eyes immediately finding what he was afraid he would find.

"Jungkook, look who I brought! I thought it would be good for you two to talk since you’re having a hard time in class." Namjoon gestures towards the person standing next to him.

Jungkook looks over to Namjoon’s left, his gaze meeting the bright, golden brown of those eyes he's grown to know too well.

"Taehyung," he breathes out before he can catch himself.

The omega lifts his ember eyes to meet Jungkook's, a surprised expression painting his pretty features at hearing that deep voice say his name like that.

"Uh- hi Jungkook."

Fuck.
