Work Text:

"Kyouka-chan suddenly wanted to adopt a tiger." 17 years old Chuuya announced suddenly, his back pressed against Dazai's chest as they played games together.

"A tiger?" Dazai repeated, amused. "Where did that come from?"

"I don't know." The redhead chuckled. "She was asking Ane-san if we can keep one."

"And what did Ane-san say?"

"She's torn in between saying no and stealing a tiger from the zoo."

Dazai laughed at that. "I can see her doing that for Kyouka-chan." He threw the controller away on the bed, smug at his nth victory.

"You cheated again!" Chuuya cried out, setting it aside and turning so he was facing Dazai's chest.

"What about you, Chuuya?"

"What?"

"You said you wanted a puppy."

"I said that?"

Dazai hummed. "Years ago. When we're still in the orphanage."

"That's so long ago." Chuuya said quietly. "I'll get one when I'm living on my own. What about you?"

The brunet grinned, "I'll still have Chuuya as my pet."

Chuuya rolled his head. "I told you I'm not a pet, dammit!"

"Nothing can change my mind! Look at you barking!" Dazai laughed gleefully as he ran away to escape from Chuuya's wrath.

When they both were breathless after rounding the room at least thrice, Dazai flopped onto the bed and Chuuya took the chance to render him immobile by sitting on his stomach. "Give up?" Chuuya panted.

"Chuuya's heavy~!" He whined, flailing his limbs and almost punching Chuuya on the face.

"I'm not that heavy!" The smaller one protested.

At last, after minutes of tiring himself out, the brunet stopped his struggle and laid limp as he stared up at Chuuya.

"What are you looking at?" The ginger challenged, hand reaching out to flick Dazai's forehead.

"Chuuya has got a booger on his nose."

"Wha-!?"

In that instant, Dazai managed to flip their position- so that Chuuya's the one underneath him- when the redhead reached for his nose, flustered.

"What are you doing?" Chuuya groaned, trying to get up but Dazai pinned him down.

"Exactly what you just did seconds ago." Dazai answered with a smirk.

"Say, do you remember what we promised back then?"

"Of course not." One didn't even have to try to know that Chuuya's lying.

"Then should I remind you again?"

"Why not."

Dazai chuckled, leaning down. "Chuuya just wanted me to ask him to live with me, doesn't he?"

"Maybe."

"Let's live together when we're old enough."

Chuuya hummed, lifting his head up a bit so their nose was bumping. "Let's."

"It's a promise." The brunet muttered quietly, their lips a hair width apart.

"Promise."

And it was sealed with a gentle press of their lips.

Osamu looked up when he heard footsteps rapidly approaching him. A soft smile filled his blank facade when he saw the familiar tuft of orange hair, bouncing at every step the owner took. Azure eyes were shining and his smile was blinding as he arrived in front of Osamu and excitedly asked :

"'samu, 'samu! What do you want to have when you have your own house? Puppy? Kitten? Or maybe rabbit!? I want a puppy!" Little Chuuya exclaimed, his body buzzed with excitement as he waited for Osamu's answer.

The small brunet hummed, tapping his chin like he's in deep thought.

"Birdie? Fishie?" Chuuya continued listing.

"I want Chuuya."

Chuuya looked at Osamu, round eyes blinking before his lips slowly formed a pout. "I'm not a pet!" He protested.

"But Chuuya's like a cute puppy." Osamu insisted.

"I'm not a pet!" Little Chuuya repeated along with some stomps of his feet.

"So..Chuuya don't want to live with me?"

"I want to live with 'samu!"

"It's a promise, then."

"Promise! But, still, I'm not a pet!"
