Kayama Nemuri is a famous hero. Debuted 2 years ago and she had taken the industry by storm using her charm and her skill.
Graduated from UA with Ingenium and Present Mic, she was already known to the public as she participated in the famous “UA Sport Festival” and she with her fellow comrades, always advanced to the finals. On second year she even made it into 2nd place after Aizawa Shouta who later known as Eraserhead.
With her image, many people think that she’s one of those stereotypical women who use their sexuality to climb the ladder of hero billboard rank since she climbed it rather quick compared to many newly debuted heroes. However, the reality is far from the assumption of general public.
You see, Midnight is very skilful and despite the character that she portrays on the screen, she gets the job done without much property damage and no casualty at all.
Even the character that she sells on public helps her to secure many promotional deals and it does help her to get famous faster than many of her newly debuted colleagues. Some people even saying that she is the new symbol of powerful female who embraces and owns her sexuality. In fact, many women are looking up to her as a role model.
But that is not the real Kayama Nemuri. While Midnight is a character, Kayama Nemuri is a real person with interests and hobbies that somewhat differ from her character as Midnight.
For example, many people don’t know that Kayama is a nerd. Not just a nerd, a huge one who prefers reading and playing video games than clubbing or going to a fancy party.
Well, she does go to those events and she enjoys it but if she had a choice, she would rather spend her weekend in her little but cosy penthouse, surrounded by her cats, plants while sipping a cup of tea and watching nature documentary.
But nobody needs to know that except her own close friends, she got image to maintain.
And there is one more secret that nobody knows about her, Kayama loves children and she actually is planning to adopt one these days.
“You what?!” both Aizawa and Mic are surprised when they heard it.
“I said, I want to adopt a kid” she grins widely as if she didn’t just drop a huge bombshell on top of her two poor friends.
“Nemuri, are you sure about that?” Mic tries to question her once more to make sure that she wasn’t delusional.
“100 percent, in fact I have book an appointment to go to an orphanage in the city” she shows them an email from the said orphanage, confirming her intention of adopting one of the kids.
Aizawa lets out a sigh.
“Nemuri, having a child is a huge commitment. Are you sure you can handle it? You just made it into Top 20, aren’t you?” he asks with a monotonous tone.
“That is why, it is such a perfect timing! I have decided long a go that once I made it into Top 20, I will adopt a child and become a mother”
“Why are you so set on becoming a mother when you reach top 20? You’re still 20 years old, Nemuri. Isn’t it too young to have a child?” Aizawa still tries to change her mind.
Nemuri takes a deep breath.
“My mother adopted me when she was 20 years old” she answers.
Both Mic and Aizawa look at each other.
“It was horrible living in a system. My first foster parent didn’t care about me at all, they just wanted the grants from the government. The second, well, they beat me up when they got angry. Then finally I met my mom” she reminisces her past. Not a good one.
“She was a 20 years old nurse and we met on the convenience store. I ran away from my foster parents after they beat me for eating too much. She comforted me and she decided to take me out of that home immediately” she continues.
“How..spontaneous..” Both of them hums.
“Mom has always been spontaneous. It was rough at first since she just started working as a nurse but we managed and we were really happy. That is why I wanted to be a mother now” she explains.
“I still think this is a bad idea…” Aizawa shakes his head.
“Come on, Shouta. You should put more faith into our friend here. Nemuri likes children, she will be a good mom!” Mic aka Hizashi tries to assure Aizawa but Nemuri can see that Aizawa is unconvinced.
Nemuri knows that both of his friends mean well but she had made up her mind. Especially since her mother passed away last year, just a year after her graduation..
“Does Tensei knows about this?” Aizawa asks.
Nemuri flinches when she heard that. Well, the truth is she hasn’t told Tensei about it at all despite both of them are probably the closest among her circle of friends.
“I haven’t! But I will, sooner… or later…most likely later…”
“Nemuri, you know that if there is someone who will support you unconditionally, it will be him” he continues.
“And you guys won’t?” she teases.
“Of course, we will support you, only if you’re not being unrealistic”
“Gosh, Shouta that was harsh”
“I’m sorry, but someone has to say it. We’re freaking 20 years old and just 2 years ago, we were a teenager for God’s sake” Aizawa rolls his eyes.
He takes another breath.
“But then again, we know how stubborn you are. Nothing we say will change your mind”
“Nope!” Nemuri grins.
Aizawa face palms.
“At least you should tell Tensei. He will be over the moon since he likes children as much as you do”
“And you don’t?” Hizashi teases him.
“Shut up” he deadpans.
“Aww, little Shouta is too shy to admit that he likes children”.
“I was just thinking, if you really want to adopt a child. At least you need to include Tensei since he has a 5 years old brother. He would be more than happy with helping you taking care of the child”
“I was thinking maybe you guys can help me too” she says.
“Well, I would love too! Same as Shouta here, no matter what he says, you and I know how much a Dadzawa he is” Mic grins.
“Fuck you, Zashi” he sneers.
Both of them laugh at Mic’s joke while Aizawa keeps on rolling his eyes.
Yeah, it is true. Tensei will be over the moon if Nemuri decides to have a child but deep down Nemuri feels like she doesn’t want to tell him since she has a huge crush on him.
She thinks that it is an unrequited love since Tensei probably only sees her as a friend. If she has a child it will be complicated since he will definitely visit tghem even more often than now which is pretty often already.
Well, sooner or later she needs to tell him. These two people will tell him first if she doesn’t and she really prefers to tell him directly.
“Hey, how about we go to orphanage together?” she offers.
“Huh?”
“Think about it, it would be fun to play with the children there” she continues.
Both of them look at each other. They do that a lot. Sometimes Nemuri thinks that both of them can communicate by telepathy.
“Well, I don’t see why not” Aizawa shrugs.
“Nice idea, Nemuri!” Mic beams.
“Maybe, just maybe, you guys may adopt a kid too” she cheekily teases them.
“Not a chance”
“Ooh, that seems fun!”
“Zashi.. come on” another face palms moment for Aizawa.

Meanwhile at St. Mary Orphanage, Tokyo
A purple haired kid is accompanying a green haired kid in the garden.
“Again, Izu? You really love flowers, aren’t you?” he monotonously says. The tone is somewhat similar to Aizawa.
The greenette smiles at him while begins watering the plants.
“My quirk is related with plant. That is why I love taking care of them” he says.
“Still, you can use your quirk to make them grow faster”
“What is the fun in that? It is more beautiful to see them grow by themselves” he answers.
The purple shakes his head while looking at the greenette fondly.
“Nee, Hito-chan. Do you think anyone would adopt us?” the greenette looks at him with a sad expression.
“Oh, Izu. They will be many who would love to adopt you. Me, on the other hand…”
“Don’t say that, Hito-chan. You are not a bad man, Those kids are stupid” Izu pouts, ready to cry.
Hitoshi pats his head fondly.
“I know, Izu. I wish we won’t be separated, though”
“I won’t leave this place unless they take you with me” Izuku stubbornly says.
Hitoshi chuckles.
“Oh, Izu” as he hugs him.
