Xiao Zhan wakes to a cold spot in bed beside him and what sounds like someone throwing up in the bathroom. When the bleariness of sleep disappears, the alpha reaches for his glasses on the bedside table and slips out of bed. He’s careful not to ruin the nest Yibo has been overly fond of making these past few weeks.
The omega has been turning all his favourite spots in the apartment into nests, their bed and even the corner of the couch has been turned into a mini nest. Xiao Zhan had worried the first time Jianguo had climbed into an empty nest and fallen asleep, fearing that the omega would be upset. Nests were important to omega’s and Xiao Zhan could admit he did not know everything about omega’s and their nesting habits, but he did know that some omegas even refused their alpha’s entry to their nests. He was pleasantly surprised when Yibo, instead of getting upset with his baby, the younger just settled into the nest with her and that was that.
“Puppy? Sweetheart, are you okay?” he starts asking and calling out as he approaches the bathroom.
“Uh, I’m fine” the younger’s voice is hoarse as he calls back. When the elder steps into the bathroom, Yibo has flushed the toilet and is at the sink brushing his teeth. Xiao Zhan slips behind him, arms wrapping around the younger’s waist and holding him to his chest while he watches Yibo brush his teeth through the mirror.
“Are you sure? You don’t seem to have a fever” Xiao Zhan questions, the back of one hand carefully pressing to Yibo’s forehead, checking his temperature before returning to its original spot around the younger’s hip. Yibo does not respond till he’s finished brushing his teeth, rinsing his mouth, and spitting the water out.
“Yeah, I think something from last night just isn’t agreeing with my stomach” Yibo smiles at the saddened groan his words pull from Xiao Zhan’s throat. The alpha nuzzles his nose into the back of Yibo’s neck, an attempt at an apology and to comfort.
“Shit, do you know what it might have been, I’ll make sure to keep it out of your food?” the alpha checks and presses a small kiss under Yibo’s jaw. The omega gives a tiny purr in response, leaning most of his body weight into the alpha’s chest behind him.
“I don’t know, did you use anything different?” Yibo’s eyes meet the elder’s through the mirror in front of him and he watches Xiao Zhan’s facial expressions change as he thinks.
“I might have used a new spice..? Something my mom sent, I’ll call and ask her about it later” Xiao Zhan shifts out of the way as Yibo turns in his arms. The alpha coos softly into the top of Yibo’s hair when the younger buries his face in Xiao Zhan’s neck. The omega gives a tiny hoarse moan pressing his face further into the alpha’s scent gland and breathing him in. “Hey, want to head back to bed? We have a few hours before we need to get up” Xiao Zhan asks, his hands running slowly up and down the younger’s back and only pausing to give him a tight hug.
“Mn, can we cuddle?” it takes a moment for Xiao Zhan to understand the omega’s question, his voice and words muffled against his skin. The elder presses another kiss to the top of Yibo’s head and starts walking backwards to their bed. He makes sure the younger is comfortable and his nest still intact before settling in beside the younger. He is unsurprised when Yibo plants himself half over top of the alpha’s chest and torso, trying to press them as close as possible.
“Will you be okay to go to the dance studio today? Or do you want me to call Lulu?” Xiao Zhan asks, his fingers slipping into the younger’s hair and scratching carefully at his scalp. Yibo hums in soft contentment and wiggles himself impossibly closer, hooking a leg around the elders.
“I should be fine; this nap will help” Yibo mumbles before pressing a kiss to Xiao Zhan’s chin and letting his exhaustion pull him to sleep. Xiao Zhan watches as the younger falls asleep in no time, his attention only pulled away when he feels a shift on the end of the bed.
“Hey baby, puppy’s not feeling well so come sleep over here” he whispers quietly to Jianguo, the kitten has just joined them on the bed, always careful not to ruin the omega’s nests. She stares at him before it seems like she understands his words, crossing the bed she steps up towards Xiao Zhan. Thinking she is about to lay on his side that is not occupied by the younger but is surprised when she climbs on his chest and curls herself into a small ball beside where Yibo’s head is resting on his shoulder. The alpha sighs in resignation, knowing that with both asleep, he will not be getting either of them to move anytime soon. He relaxes back into the bed and lets the soft purring of his cat and the feeling of his mate in his arms, lull him back to sleep as well.
When Yibo wakes to his alarm going off, he realizes that it is just him and a sleeping Jianguo still in his nest. He groans as he stretches, careful to not disturb the kitten or his lovely nest and hears some rattling coming from the kitchen, assuming that’s where the elder has gone. Yibo slips out from the bed without waking Jianguo and slowly pads his way out to the kitchen, finding the alpha.
“Ma, that spice medley you sent me, what was in it?” Xiao Zhan is in the middle of making them some eggs and toast for breakfast, his cell on speakerphone where it sits on the counter beside him. The spice medley is on the counter as well with a sticky note that only has a giant ‘X’ on it.
“Just the usual spices, why is there something wrong with it?” Mama Xiao asks, and Yibo can hear the worry in her voice. Xiao Zhan is about to reply when he notices Yibo standing in the doorway.
“Technically it was fine but Yibo was throwing up this morning, so I’m worried there was a different spice he isn’t used to in it” Xiao Zhan turns off the stove before he steps away from the cooking eggs to lean in and press a quick kiss to Yibo’s mouth. Xiao Zhan’s mother hums in thought.
“Oh no, is he alright? Send me a list of what spices he can’t handle, and I’ll make sure to label them for you” Xiao Zhan hums, just like his mother’s and Yibo cannot help but to smile at it.
“I’m feeling better now Mama Xiao” Yibo calls out softly as he trails behind the elder like the puppy Xiao Zhan calls him.
“Oh, sweetie, I’m sorry, I hope the rest of your day goes better” hearing the beta woman’s concern for him makes him feel homesick. It’s been quite some time since he has visited his parents and just as long if not longer since they saw Xiao Zhan’s parents too.
“The nap I just had seems to have helped” Xiao Zhan smiles at the younger, proud of how comfortable he has gotten around his parents. Yibo is no longer the shy and quiet boy he introduced to his parents nearly a year ago when they went to Chongqing together.
“Alright ma better let you go, our breakfast is done” Xiao Zhan says as he starts to place everything onto the plates, turning to hand them off to Yibo.
“Okay, I’ll talk to you later, bye boys” Mama Xiao calls out to them both and after they say their goodbye back, Xiao Zhan ends the call, pocketing his cellphone. The alpha follows the younger to the kitchen table where they quickly eat. Yibo takes a rush shower before Xiao Zhan drops him off at Xuan Lu’s dance studio and drives himself to his firm.

“Yibo are you feeling alright, you’re looking more pale than usual” Xuan Lu comments during a break in their dance classes. Yibo is sitting on the floor, head tipped back against the wall and eyes closed. The younger just grunts in response and refusing to open his eyes. As worry starts to take over, Xuan Lu settles her pregnant self carefully on the floor beside the younger.
“Ugh, Lu-jie, I don’t know what it is, woke up nauseous this morning and even threw up, thought the nap helped but its back and now I’m dizzy too” Yibo whines, something Xuan Lu has only ever seen him do in front of Xiao Zhan.
“Is this new or has it been going on for awhile?” the older omega asks and hands Yibo a cold unopened bottle of water. Yibo hums, taking his time to think over his answer for her before he replies.
“Well, this morning was the worst, I’ve been nauseous before, but this was the first time it made me sick. We think it was a spice medley that Mama Xiao sent us” Yibo explains before he twists the cap off the bottle of water and takes a sip. Xuan Lu hums in thought beside and waits for the younger to be done taking his drink before he comments.
“Well, I highly doubt it was anything Zhanzhan’s mom sent, she’s really good at keeping track of what someone can and cannot eat. She loves to cook for family and now that you’re Zhanzhan’s mate, you’re part of her family” a frown takes over Yibo’s face, if the elder is right then what would have been upsetting his stomach lately.
“What else could it be?” Yibo questions out loud, eyeing the pregnant lady beside him.
“Yibo, you and Zhanzhan have sex regularly, right?” at the younger’s nod, she continues. “Do you use condoms all the time?” Xuan Lu knows by the reddening of Yibo’s face that they probably are not as safe as they could be.
“Well, I’m on the pill, so we don’t always use condoms” Yibo whispers, eyes searching their surroundings to ensure their conversation is not being listened in on. Xuan Lu heaves a sigh and shakes her head.
“I need to give that boy a talking to. The pill Yibo is not 100% nor is using condoms so it’s safer to use both together, my dear boy, have you thought of possibly being pregnant? Have you been nesting a lot lately? That’s another sign” at Xuan Lu’s words and questions, Yibo tenses, it had never occurred to him before.
“Shit, shit, shiiiit, what if that’s what it is? Shiiiit. Fuck, what’s Zhan-ge going to think?” as Yibo clearly begins to panic, Xuan Lu tries to calm him down.
“Hey, it’ll be fine, you’re not even sure that you are and besides Zhanzhan would not have taken you as a mate without having talked about kids in some capacity first” Xuan Lu tries to sooth, a gentle hand rubbing along the younger’s arm. Yibo begins to calm, thinking her words through.
“W-we, we ugh, we did talk a bit about it” Yibo speaks, trying to fight off the tears he feels welling up in his eyes. Xuan Lu feels for the younger, he’s only been 21 for 4.5 months and she understands how frightening the thought of being pregnant can be for some people, even when they are trying to conceive.
“Hey, how about I grab some pregnancy tests on break for you? We can go from there after, okay?” Yibo nods, grateful to have another omega, a pregnant one at that to help him figure things out. Their break comes to an end soon after and they both get back up to work with the students.
True to her words, Xuan Lu slips out during their break and discreetly hands Yibo a drugstore bag with 3 different brands of pregnancy tests for him to use. Yibo takes a deep breath before he disappears into the bathroom. The 3-minute wait for the results from all the tests are the most torturous Yibo has ever had to deal with. He can smell Xuan Lu waiting just outside the bathroom door, quietly supporting him.
“Lu-jie, they’re all positive” Xuan Lu must press her ear flat to the door just to be able to hear what Yibo is saying. It takes her another minute to work out the emotion she hears in his voice and worries that he sounds panicked again.
“Yibo, open the door and we can talk properly” she waits a minute for the bathroom door to open and when she steps in, a puzzled Yibo is sitting on the closed toilet lid. Xuan Lu steps up to him and with only a second of doubt, she wraps her arms around the younger omega’s shoulders in a gentle hug.
“Do you think Zhan-ge will be upset?” Yibo does not hug her back, something she was expecting, she knows Yibo is not fond of physical touch with anyone but Xiao Zhan and a select few others. She rubs slow circles into the younger’s back before pulling away.
“Hey, he loves you and we both know he wants kids, so I think you need to ask, how do you feel about it?” Yibo freezes, that thought had never crossed his mind before. She’s right, the alpha does love him, and they have talked about the alpha wanting kids, Yibo however has never been a hard yes or no. But, like Xuan Lu said, he needs to think about himself right now, does he want this kid, does he want his and Xiao Zhan’s kid?
“I never really put much thought into it, I mean when we talked about it and Zhan-ge said he wants kids, I knew since I love him and want to spend the rest of our lives together, I would have his kids one day” Yibo rambles on, Xuan Lu is surprised his words are so coherent with how worked up he seems to be right now. “I guess I just never factored in that it would be happening so soon” the younger admits and Xuan Lu can sympathize with him.
“What are you feeling right now?” she doesn’t want to force him into feeling a certain way, but she needs him to think it through seriously. Yibo looks up at her, and she sees the way his eyes are beginning to shine with unshed tears, another thing he refuses to do in front of others.
“Honestly, a little freaked out. What if I’m not a good parent? What if I’m not ready? What if Zhan-ge changes his mind?” Xuan Lu’s face falls at the younger’s rapid-fire questions but she can’t help by smile as he trails off.
“Wang Yibo, no one is ever a good parent at first, they’ll always second guess themselves. I’m 7 months and I’m not even ready nor am I never freaking out. Though, I will admit even with all my own doubts, I’m excited and cannot wait to meet my daughter” Yibo listens to her speaking and he smiles. He gives the older woman a small nod before he stands and does a quick stretch.
“How’s Yuchen-ge doing with it all?” Yibo’s question has Xuan Lu smiling even brighter, she even giggles some.
“He’s freaking out more than I am, but he’s excited too. And our parents cannot wait to become grandparents – “ Xuan Lu’s words are interrupted by the younger gasping out loud.
“Oh shit! My dad is going to threaten Zhan-ge again” Xuan Lu smiles at the younger trying not smile while thinking about when he introduced Xiao Zhan to his parents. The Wang’s were sceptical to meet the alpha their 19-year-old was dating but after spending a weekend with Xiao Zhan they had calmed down. Yibo’s mother loved the elder, she enjoyed teaching him new recipes that Yibo loved and his father liked talking to him about his design business. The Wang’s had quickly become overjoyed with the couple and Xuan Lu heard how much they could not wait to see how their future would turn out. The older omega has a feeling that the Papa Wang may threaten Xiao Zhan but will be happy to hear the news, considering how Yibo seems to be calming to the idea of having a kid now.
“Oh, this will be fun. You okay now?” Xuan Lu laughs, and watches as a small smile starts to form on Yibo’s face.
“Yeah, I’m kind of excited?” Xuan Lu laughs at Yibo’s statement turning into a question, but she can see that the younger is no longer going into a panic. They spend a few more minutes talking together before the end of their lunch break creeps up on them. Xuan Lu gives Yibo some of her vitamins, ones she would take whenever her nausea would act up.
“Are you going to tell him?” Xuan Lu asks as they are walking towards her vehicle, she promised Xiao Zhan that she would drop Yibo off at home when they were done for the night.
“Mn, eventually, he’s going out of town tonight, so I’ll probably wait till he’s back” Xuan Lu hums in understanding. Some company hired Xiao Zhan’s design firm, but the main office isn’t located in Beijing so the alpha and a small group of his staff were headed out of town. Yibo checks his cellphone, smiling as a notification from Xiao Zhan pops up on his screen.

Just heading home

You’ll let me know if it bugs you more?

Gege:
Doing some last-minute touch ups for the meeting tomorrow
Don’t forget to feed Jianguo tonight

Some chicken, rice and vegies, you just have to heat it up

“Zhanzhan texting?” Xuan Lu questions, taking in Yibo’s silence and facial expressions since they settled in her car.
“Mn, yeah, he just got in his hotel, double checking everything for tomorrow” Yibo hums in confirmation, this will be the first night Xiao Zhan is away from home since they moved in together. The drive back to the apartment is short and soon Yibo is climbing out of Xuan Lu’s car and heading inside.
The whiney meow that greets him reminds Yibo that Jianguo is not used to Xiao Zhan not being around either.
“Hey baby, it’s just you and me tonight. We can cuddle all night too” Yibo squats down to pet the kitten and he scoops her into his arms when she paws at him. Their night is filled with a lot of cuddling and a nice video chat with Xiao Zhan before Yibo decides going to bed early is for the best.
Even with the early bedtime, Yibo does not sleep well, it was something he and the alpha worried would happen. Even with the alpha’s scent lingering in Yibo’s nest, it does not do the same for his ability to sleep as having the alpha physically beside him. When he wakes, he is not surprised to see some texts from Xiao Zhan waiting for him.
Gege:
Hey sweetheart, did you sleep okay?
Me:
No, miss u
Gege:
Aww, I’ll be home late tonight, okay?
So, try and get some sleep, don’t worry about waiting up for me

Cant promise anything
Yibo groans as he reads and responds to the alpha’s newest message. He purposely left out that the nausea is back again, or still here as it has yet to leave. Luckily, Yibo did not wake earlier, needing to throw up today. So, he rolls over in bed and finds Jianguo asleep, curled into a tiny ball, on Xiao Zhan’s pillow.
“It’s okay baby, Zhan-ge will be back late tonight” Yibo pets her gently, not wanting to wake the kitten and then he climbs himself out of bed. He wanders out to the kitchen, in search of more leftovers to reheat. As he is settling in at the kitchen island, Jianguo comes pouncing in as she attacks one of her toys.
Within the hour Yibo is dressed and taking his motorcycle to work, it’s not the easiest mood of transportation in Beijing which is why he usually gets a drive with Xiao Zhan.
“Wang Yibo, what are you doing?” Yibo pauses as he’s taking his helmet off at Xuan Lu’s voice yelling at him. He turns to see her walking towards where he has parked his bike and he does not understand why she looks upset.
“What do you mean, Lu-jie?” he questions when she’s close enough to him that he does not need to yell. Xuan Lu’s loud question earlier has already gathered the attention of the other dancer’s and parents currently in the studios parking lot.
“You’re pregnant, riding a motorcycle is dangerous on a good day” her words have Yibo freezing, he’d forgotten about the pregnancy tests yesterday after spending his first night alone in Xiao Zhan’s, turned their apartment.
“Ah, well, I’m a good driver, it’s only for today and it was a short drive. I’ll be really careful” Yibo rushes to reassure. The older omega seems to think about his words for a minute before she gives him a small nod and they begin to walk into the studio.
“I hope you’re being careful, are you going to tell Zhanzhan tonight?” Xuan Lu asks.
“Mn, can’t, by the time he gets home tonight, I should be asleep” Xuan Lu hums in understanding, she feels empathetic for the younger, finding out he’s pregnant during the few days Xiao Zhan isn’t around.
Yibo’s day goes much like it did yesterday, he dances through the slight nausea and dizziness, Xuan Lu gives him some more vitamins to help. Yibo is so distracted by his thoughts that before he realizes it, his workday has ended, and he is heading back out to the parking lot to take his bike home. He can hear Xuan Lu calling after him to be safe and she’ll see him tomorrow.
Yibo’s evening is spent much like the night before, cuddling on the couch with Jianguo while he plays video games or when he gets tired of that, he builds some of his Lego sets. When he goes looking for something to eat for dinner, he finds a dish waiting for him in the freezer, a note for him and instructions on how to reheat it left by Xiao Zhan.
“Ah, he really did prepare for me being alone” Yibo mumbles to himself and because he can he sniffs at the hoodie he has stolen from Xiao Zhan’s side of their closet. The alpha had worn the hoodie before he left, knowing his cat would steal his pillow so he wanted to leave Yibo with something that smelt of him.
The hoodie was large on Xiao Zhan, making it a bit larger for Yibo but the material was a dark blue, but it was also soft and warm. As he waited for the food to heat in the oven, closely following the alpha’s instructions, Yibo sat at the dining table and decided to look up male omega pregnancies.
Statistically there are more health risks for a male omega when pregnant compared to a female, and they can only give birth through a caesarean. Yibo then went on to read other male omega’s personal experiences to get a better idea of how this pregnancy may go. Once his dinner was ready he ate before calling his mom, he promised he would call her earlier that week but had forgotten.
Missing his mom left him in a weird mixture of happy to talk to her and sad that he could not see her. He had to spend the entire phone call stopping himself from saying anything to her, he wanted the first one to know, besides Xuan Lu, be Xiao Zhan. He whined to her about being left alone while the elder was on a short business trip, this earned him laughter from his mother.
It wasn’t long after he got off the phone with his mom that he decided he would try to sleep early again, not getting enough sleep the night before and knowing he would probably not get much till the alpha was back, added to the decision.
“Alright girl, its bedtime” Yibo announced to the kitten before he picked her up and carried her onto the bed with him. He watched as Jianguo easily got settled on the elder’s pillow again but could not fall asleep as easily. Yibo spent a good hour or so tossing and turning in bed, frustrated that he could not fall asleep.
“Shhh, we have to let Bo-di sleep” Yibo was in a state of half awake when he heard a familiar meow and voice in the bedroom. He groaned, rolling over onto his side and burying his face in the pillow, trying to force himself to stay asleep but a second meow disturbed him again.
“Nhhn, Zhan-ge?” Yibo mumbled, hands coming up to rub at his eyes before he opened them and waited for them to adjust to the dark. He could see Xiao Zhan’s figure beside the bed, Yibo could make out that the elder was changed into his usual sleep attire, sweats, and a t-shirt.
“Hey sweetheart, sorry to wake you” the alpha whispered, reaching for Jianguo and shifting her to a different position on the bed so he could slip in beside his omega. Yibo hummed, hands immediately reaching for the elder once he was settled beside him. “Hmm, missed me?” the alpha’s voice had a teasing lilt to it that Yibo felt the need to slap at Xiao Zhan’s chest in retaliation.
“Yep” Yibo smiled when Xiao Zhan just laughed at his antics, wrapping his own arms around the younger’s waist, and pulling him into his side. Yibo began to purr, tucking his face beneath the alpha’s chin and rubbing his cheek against the elder’s collar bone. The omega was clearly happy, his nest felt full and right, now with his alpha back in it with him.
“Sleep, sweetheart” Xiao Zhan whispered into the top of Yibo’s head before pressing a soft kiss to the spot afterwards. Yibo hummed softly, snuggling in even closer.
“Love you” the younger was asleep before he could hear Xiao Zhan’s response. The familiar scent and feel of his mate in bed beside him had the younger out fast, making it seem like his issues sleeping before never happened.
Yibo’s surprised when he wakes the next morning and the spot beside him is empty, he figured with Xiao Zhan getting home late that the elder would have tried to sleep in longer. Yibo sighs, he can hear the shower running but he is not in the mood to get up just yet. Now knowing that he is pregnant makes dealing with his nausea a lot easier and worth it all.
“Zhaaaaan-ge, what time is it? Why are you up so early?” Yibo’s whining voice is what greets the alpha as he steps out of his en suite bathroom. He pauses, towel wrapped around his waist while he uses another that is draped over his shoulders to dry his wet hair. He eyes the omega that’s currently huddled in the middle of their large bed, looking comfortable and smug in his messy nest.
“Time to get up puppy, and we both have work today so it’s not early” Xiao Zhan says, walking closer to the bed and reaching over to smack the younger’s blanket covered butt. Yibo groans and attempts to swat at the elder’s hands but Xiao Zhan easily dodges and laughs at Yibo when he starts to kick his feet randomly beneath the blankets.
“Zhan-geeeee, come back here” Yibo demands and even gives the elder his best kicked puppy pout. Xiao Zhan knows that Yibo knows how weak he is to the younger’s pouts and after a groan he approaches the bed again. The alpha is always worried he might accidentally mess up the younger’s nest when they move around the bed too freely, so he is careful as he nears.
“What? If you want to eat before you get to the dance studio, I have to make breakfast” Xiao Zhan nags the younger as he stops at the edge of their mattress and the outer wall of the nest. He watches Yibo’s pout turn into a smile as the younger makes grabby hands for Xiao Zhan. He takes a moment to admire the alpha’s lean muscular body and one of his favourite features, Xiao Zhan’s happy trail. The alpha’s smile turns smug when he takes in the omega’s blatant ogling of his naked torso.
“Closer, I haven’t gotten my morning kiss and you got home late, so you owe me” Yibo informs the alpha as he stops staring and wiggles himself closer to the elder. When he is close enough, he grabs for Xiao Zhan’s towel that’s wrapped around his waist.
“Stop” Xiao Zhan knows what the younger is thinking so he is quick to grab Yibo’s wrists and stopping him from taking off his towel. The younger pouts up at him again but uses the grip on his wrists to his advantage and catches Xiao Zhan off guard as he tugs the elder onto the bed. Yibo laughs at the puff of air that falls out of Xiao Zhan’s mouth when his body collapses half on the bed and half over top of Yibo.
“Hi” Yibo smiles, distracting the elder as his hands slip from Xiao Zhan’s grip and carefully begins trying to untie the alpha’s towel.
“Hi back at you” Xiao Zhan smiles, he catches Yibo’s wandering hands once again and pins them by the younger’s head. Yibo pouts and wiggles as he tries to dislodge the elder’s grip, but Xiao Zhan has dealt with him many times before that he knows not to let up. Xiao Zhan shakes his head in fond exasperation but leans in to press a kiss to the younger’s mouth. Yibo happily purrs, leaning up into the kiss and when the elder starts to pull away, he teasingly licks at the alpha’s mole. Xiao Zhan sighs, pressing their foreheads together before he bites gently at Yibo’s soft cheek.
“Mm, Zhan-ge, want morning sex” Yibo waggles his eyebrows at the elder, spreading his legs under the covers, opening more space for the alpha’s hips to settle between them.
“Sweetheart, there’s no time” his words say no but Yibo pays more attention to his body that is pressing more comfortably over his own.
“Gege” Yibo whispers, leaning up to kiss the alpha again and when Xiao Zhan does not pull away from it, Yibo licks at his top lip. Xiao Zhan gives in, letting Yibo lick into his mouth and sliding his tongue along the younger’s. The omega moans happy, and when the alpha’s grip on his wrists loosens, he grabs at the back of Xiao Zhan’s neck, pulling the alpha into a deeper kiss. Xiao Zhan drops his arms onto the bed till only his forearms are holding his upper body above the younger below him.
When Xiao Zhan pulls back from the kiss to trail his lips, tongue and teeth down the younger’s jaw and throat, Yibo starts to squirm. With his mouth now free, his breathy moans fill the air as the elder bites bruising kisses into the pale skin of his throat. Xiao Zhan is distracted by the smell, feel, and sounds of the younger below him that he has forgotten they do not have the time. Yibo lifts into his chest, body moving under the covers as he tries to kick the blankets off without dislodging the alpha from between his thighs.
“Shit” Xiao Zhan swears when a notification goes off on his phone, forcing him to remember that they do not have time to mess around this morning.
“Xiao Zhan, no, get back here” Yibo protests when the elder pulls away from him. He only stops to press a soft kiss to Yibo’s forehead before he’s climbing off the bed and grabbing his cell phone from the bedside table. The younger’s nest has been rumpled and slightly destroyed by all their movements, but Xiao Zhan knows enough to leave fixing it up to the omega.
“Shit, Wang Yibo, we’ve wasted too much time, get in the shower. We’ll have to grab something on the way when I drop you off at Lulu’s studio” Yibo groans, the alpha has entered boss mood and Yibo knows there is no way he will get the alpha back in bed this morning. Yibo refuses to leave the warmth and familiar scent of them that lingers in his nest, just the way he likes it.
“Ugh, Zhan-ge, can we not be adults today?” the elder turns to watch as Yibo flails around their bed like a child and just laughs and shakes his head at the younger.
“Nope, I have an important meeting before lunch and you have to help Lulu get the dancer’s ready for that competition” Xiao Zhan sighs, he steps towards the bed and pulls the covers off the younger, exposing him to the cooler air of the room.
“Xiao Zhan, its cold, why are you so cruel?” Yibo yells as he rolls onto his stomach, exposing his bare ass to the room at large instead of his front. The alpha pauses in his next move to force the younger out of bed to instead admire the marks he left on the younger the other night before his business trip. Xiao Zhan leans over to thumb at a tender red spot on Yibo’s skin where his left butt cheek meets the beginning of his thigh. At the feel of Xiao Zhan touching him, Yibo twists his upper body to watch the alpha as he admires his artwork of bite marks and bruises he littered Yibo’s skin with.
“Sweetheart, if you get up now, I’ll make whatever you want for supper tonight” Yibo smiles at the bribery as he trails his bare foot up Xiao Zhan’s thigh and trying to slip it up under the elder’s towel.
“Why? You’ll make whatever I want for supper anyways?” the alpha pauses at the younger’s words, realizing the truth behind them. Xiao Zhan sighs.
“Fine” the one word is all Yibo gets as a warning before he is being picked up and carried into the en suite. He yelps in surprise, but it quickly turns into arousal and he cannot stop himself from rubbing his face into the alpha’s throat in appreciation.
“Zhan-ge, I think that had the opposite effect” Yibo laughs at the elder’s blatant attempt to ignore his words. Xiao Zhan carefully sets the younger on the covered toilet seat and moves to turn the water on for Yibo’s shower. Yibo is more than happy to sit and watch as the elder checks the water temperature for his shower before he turns back to Yibo.
“Be good for me and take a shower” the alpha whispers against Yibo’s lips, hands gently grabbing the younger’s hips to lift him back onto his feet. Yibo sighs but nods and steals one last kiss before he’s stepping into the shower.
“Hey!” Xiao Zhan cackles at the younger’s yell, as Yibo had turned to start his shower, the alpha had pinched his ass, hard. These moments are what he missed most while away from Yibo for business and is so grateful to be enjoying them again.
“That’s what you get for being a pain” Xiao Zhan hollers back and goes to get dressed. Yibo yells something back at him, but the sound of the shower drowns out his words, only leaving the sound of his voice. As Xiao Zhan waits for Yibo to finish his shower he pulls some fresh clothes out for the younger and after putting on a pair of his glasses, he checks some emails. Its barely 20 minutes before he hears the hair dryer going ands soon a warm, clean Wang Yibo wanders back into the bedroom.
“You sure there’s no time?” a persistent omega asks, pressing his nearly naked body against the alpha’s front. Xiao Zhan sighs, but he leans down, careful of his glasses against Yibo’s face and presses a biting kiss to the younger’s pink mouth. Yibo hums but it quickly turns into a soft purr as the alpha wraps his arms around Yibo’s waist and holds him close. Yibo reaches up to slip his hands into the alpha’s nearly dried hair and uses the hold to pull the elder’s face closer.
“What did we agree on when you moved in?” the loud and displeased moan that comes from Yibo’s lips at the elder’s words tells him that Yibo understands what he is talking about. The younger carefully releases the hold he has on Xiao Zhan’s hair but does not pull his hands out just yet.
“I have to behave on workdays” the fond smile Yibo gets in return is almost worth the annoyance of having to put his horniness aside. It was a necessary agreement, Yibo’s libido nearly got them both in trouble a few times before he officially moved in. Though, the alpha’s libido has picked up quite a bit since they started dating, well at least that’s what Yubin likes to tease Xiao Zhan about when their friend group gets together. It is now a known fact that Xiao Zhan must be strict with the younger if either of them want to be productive as Yibo is more than happy to stay in bed all day with the alpha.
“Mm, I pulled out some clothes for you” Yibo nods but before he pulls away completely, he presses one last kiss to the alpha’s mouth. Xiao Zhan stays long enough to see Yibo begin to get dressed before he heads out to the kitchen and calling for Jianguo. The munchkin kitten hops off the couch and follows Xiao Zhan to the kitchen, sitting patiently as she watches him get her food and water for the day prepared.
“Zhan-ge, Lu-jie just sent a message asking if we can grab her coffee? That’s a no right, I mean she’s like 7 months pregnant” the elder hears Yibo rambling from down the hall. He pokes his head around the corner to see Yibo standing in the doorway to their bedroom, his focus on the cell phone in his hands.
“Well, some coffee is okay, besides its safer to get her what she wants than to deal with her mood swings” the alpha answers. “Are you ready? We better head out” Yibo glances up at him briefly, gives a small nod before he turns to grab his dance bag from behind the bedroom door and walks out towards the elder.
“Bye baby” Yibo quickly squats down to give Jianguo a nice scratch behind her ears. When he stands and turns around again, Xiao Zhan is watching him with a bright smile on his face. “What?” Yibo can feel his face heating at the attention. The alpha says nothing but reaches out to fix some of Yibo’s fluffy brown hair that was sticking up.
“Yubin wants to take everyone out to a trivia bar this Saturday, it’s the last time we’ll all be able to see each other before Bowen’s birthday and Christmas” Yibo hums, catching the elder’s hand in his and pressing a kiss to his palm. Yibo cannot believe how much he missed the elder the last 2 nights. If Xiao Zhan would agree, Yibo would spend the entire day in bed with him.
“I’m fine with that, it’s been awhile since we all got together” Yibo replies, handing his bag to the alpha when Xiao Zhan holds his free hand out for it. They pause at the door so Xiao Zhan can grab his own shoulder bag before they leave their apartment, locking up behind them and taking the elevator down to the lobby.
“Yeah, I’ll tell Yubin we’re in” they talk a bit more on their way out of the building and to Xiao Zhan’s parked car. The alpha tosses their bags into the back seat before climbing into the driver’s seat as Yibo slips into the passenger’s.
They stop at a nice restaurant to garb coffee and something for them to eat. Soon Xiao Zhan is pulling into the dance studio’s parking lot and he waves at Xuan Lu when he sees her. Yibo steals a quick kiss from the elder before hopping out of the vehicle, grabbing his things and the coffee for Xuan Lu. Xiao Zhan calls out a quick goodbye before he pulls out of the parking lot and drives off on his way to work.
“Have you told him yet?” Yibo groans at the repeat question. Xuan Lu seems to have made it a habit to ask him at least once a day.
“No, he got home after 1am and we were too busy this morning, I’ll tell him soon” Yibo responds, his tone edging on grumpy. He hands Xuan Lu her coffee before walking away and heading into the studio.
“Yibo, you know I only ask because I care about you both” Xuan Lu is quick to follow the younger, she knows her constant asking could be upsetting for him, but she believes he needs the extra push.
“I know, I will tell him” Yibo understands. He continues walking with Xuan Lu, they enter their practise room and within the hour they have the dancer’s starting.

Xiao Zhan is just finishing up his meeting when his cell phone goes off. He quickly excuses himself and turns toward his office as he pulls his phone out of his pocket. Worry takes over when he sees that the call is coming from Xuan Lu.
“Lulu, what’s up? Something happen?” the alpha completely bypasses his greetings. His usual politeness put on hold as worry takes over.
“Zhanzhan, you need to get here asap, Yibo fainted” Xiao Zhan feels his heart break, he quickly goes into his office and just throws his things into his bag.
“I’m coming right now” he tells her, practically running out of his office, only pausing on the way to tell his assistant that he has an emergency and needs to leave.
“He’s conscious now but I think he should go to the clinic for a checkup and he refuses to go with anyone if it’s not you” Xiao Zhan sighs, this he was expecting. He stays on the line with Xuan Lu, they have both turned their cells onto speaker phone and Xiao Zhan can hear some talking in the background from Xuan Lu’s end.
“Zhan-ge” Yibo’s voice is quiet and sounds strained but the alpha can hear him clearly.
“Hey sweetheart, I’ll be there in like 20 minutes okay?” he must think about something else, if he thinks of the younger fainting he will drive himself mad trying not to freak out. He must be careful of speeding as he tries to get to the younger fast.
“Sorry ge” the omega sounds like he is close to tears and that pulls at Xiao Zhan.
“Wang Yibo, you do not need to apologize to me” the alpha tries to keep calm, Yibo is already in a fragile state and it will do neither of them any good if he makes it worse. Yibo gets quiet after that but it’s not much longer before Xiao Zhan is pulling into the parking lot, finding Yibo sitting on a bench beside Xuan Lu outside the building.
“Zhanzhan” Xuan Lu greets when the alpha is leaving his car and jogging towards her and Yibo. At the familiar nickname, Yibo’s head lifts and the alpha can see that he has in fact been crying. Xiao Zhan is just stepping onto the curb when Yibo is standing and throwing himself at the elder, his arms wrapping around the elder’s torso as he presses his face into Xiao Zhan’s chest.
“Hey, baby, sweetheart, how are you feeling?” Xiao Zhan’s hands are trying to rub soothingly against the younger’s body, but he is also worked up over this and he worries he may not be helping.
“I’m okay, I know why it happened” Yibo whispers into his shoulder and his arms tighten their hold around the elder.
“Should we go to the clinic?” Xiao Zhan asks, he’s a little lost on what to do and is waiting for Yibo to give him direction. He feels the younger nodding his head against him, so Xiao Zhan gives him a quick hug before pulling away enough to walk Yibo back to his car. “Thanks Lulu” the alpha calls out to his pregnant friend as he helps Yibo into the passenger seat, making sure he is buckled in before climbing back into the driver’s seat.
“Zhan-ge….” When Yibo says his name as he’s driving, the elder gives him a quick glance before looking back at the road.
“What is it Bo-di?” Xiao Zhan asks, encouraging the younger to keep speaking but when Yibo does not continue, the elder slips a hand from the wheel to gently squeeze at the younger’s knee. “Sweetheart, what’s bothering you?”
“Uh, well, um, wh-when you were gone for your b-business trip, um me and Lu-jie, uh realized, I’m um uh most likely pregnant..?” the elder is distracted by all the stuttering so it takes him a minute to fully digest what Yibo has just said to him.
“When you say, ‘most likely’, what exactly do you mean?” Yibo eyes the elder, Xiao Zhan is calm and focused on the road ahead of him so the younger decides it is safe to explain more.
“Well, the day you left I was sick right? Well, I was talking to Lu-jie about it and she suggested that it may not have been your mom’s spices but that I was pregnant. We aren’t always safe while having sex. Anyways, she got me some pregnancy tests and well they were all positive, like all of them, like a dozen tests. But, I haven’t gone to the doctors so it might have been wrong…? But Lu-jie said its never a false positive, only false negatives” Xiao Zhan can’t help but smile at Yibo’s rambling, he’s speaking so fast that some of his words are jumbled but the elder got the point.
“You’re right, we’ve both been fine with having sex without condoms, it would make sense” Yibo’s nerves settle as the alpha squeezes his knee once more.
“Does that upset you, that I might be?” Yibo asks, he needs to know before the doctors tell him if he is or not. Xiao Zhan glances over to him and once their eyes meet he gives Yibo a soft smile.
“No, it doesn’t upset me” Yibo nods back and he sighs out in relief. Before either of them notices, Xiao Zhan is pulling into the parking lot of the walk-in clinic.
They step out of the car together; Xiao Zhan offers his hand to the younger and Yibo happily takes it. The alpha smiles when Yibo begins to softly swing their entwined hands between them. The alpha can feel the omega’s nervousness increase the closer they get to the door.
The clinic is a small 3 storey building and it sits on the corner of 2 side streets with a half decent paring lot in front.
“Hello, what can we do for you?” the friendly beta receptionist asks them as they approach the counter. Xiao Zhan glances at Yibo, waiting to see if the younger will speak for himself or if he’ll want Xiao Zhan to do it for him.
“Oh, um, I would like to get a pregnancy test done…?” the younger’s words trail off, uncertain of how exactly he is supposed to ask. The receptionist gives him a soft smile, as she rummages through some papers on the counter in front of her.
“Of course, I’ll just need some ID and a health card, you will also need to fill out these papers” Yibo nods, pulling his wallet out of his pocket and handing the woman everything she needs. “Alright, fill these out while you wait and I’ll call you when it’s your turn, shouldn’t be too long” she smiles at Yibo again. The receptionist goes to hand Yibo the paperwork, but Xiao Zhan takes it for the younger and let’s Yibo lead them over to a pair of chairs hidden in a corner.
“Hey, Gege you’re coming in with me right?” Yibo asks, worried the elder will make him go in alone. The alpha shakes his head and leans into Yibo’s side and presses a kiss to the younger’s cheek.
“Yes, sweetheart, I’ll go in with you” Yibo relaxes with the elder’s reassurance and nuzzles his cheek into the alpha’s shoulder while they wait and finishes filling out the paperwork Xiao Zhan grabbed for him. The elder helps him fill out the parts he is unsure of and before they know it, Yibo’s name is being called.
“Wang Yibo” the receptionist calls out and when the couple approaches the counter, she leads them to one of the patient rooms. “Dr. Liu will be with you momentarily” is the last thing she tells them before disappearing out the door.
“Zhan-ge, I’m nervous” Yibo mumbles as he paces the room with his head hanging low.
“Wang Yibo relax” the alpha says, pulling Yibo in close. Xiao Zhan wraps an arm around the younger’s waist and lifts his chin with a finger, forcing Yibo to look up at him. “Whatever the results are, I’ll be here” Xiao Zhan presses a kiss to Yibo’s mouth, and it helps to calm the younger down. Distracted by the elder’s mouth on his, he doesn’t realize he is being lifted until his feet are no longer on the ground and the next thing he knows, his butt is on the crinkly patient chair.
“Xiao Zhan” Yibo barks out in surprise, his hand instinctively coming up to whack at the alpha’s chest. Xiao Zhan laughs but leans into the younger from his spot between Yibo’s spread knees. The omega groans, he can tell from Xiao Zhan’s laughter that the elder doesn’t care that he has irked him. Yibo relents and wraps both his arms around the alpha’s shoulders and drags him in as close as he can get him and just buries his face in the side of Xiao Zhan’s neck.
“See, this is better right? Just breathe and remember I will be right here the whole time” Yibo feels his nerves leaving his body at the comfort of the alpha in his embrace and his soothing words. Xiao Zhan rubs his hands up and down Yibo’s body, they only pull away when the door opens with a click.
“Hello, I am Dr. Liu” the doctor is an older male beta. Yibo stares at him, feeling like he knows the doctor but is unable to pinpoint from where. “Oh, Xiao Zhan, so that makes you Wang Yibo” the doctor states when he looks up from his clipboard for the first time.
“Ah yes, Uncle, this is Yibo” the omega’s head snaps to the alpha who has stepped to the side. Xiao Zhan catches the younger’s confused face and smiles back. “Bo-di, this is Haikuan’s father” with Xiao Zhan’s explanation, Yibo finally understands why the man is so familiar.
“Oh, hello” Yibo can feel his face heating at his lack of words, not knowing what he should be saying. Xiao Zhan reaches out to take Yibo’s hand that he was clenching on his knee. Yibo is quick to tangle their fingers together and squeeze at them gently.
“So, I see here you want a pregnancy test? That’s fine, it’s too early for an ultrasound but I can draw some blood and check that for you” Dr. Liu looks to Yibo as he explains and waits for the nod Yibo gives him before writing some notes on the younger’s file. “It says you’ve taken some off the shelf tests and they all came back positive, so you’re looking for a definitive answer? Just in case the test comes back negative, why don’t you tell me about your symptoms?” the doctor checks as he grabs the steel tray that has all the equipment he needs already set up on it. Once he places the tray on the wheeled cart, he steps up to the young couple and begins to prep the needle he will be using.
“Ge, that’s a big needle” Yibo tries to whisper to him but the soft barely concealed giggle from the doctor tells him he was heard. Yibo goes red and tugs on their joined hands to pull Xiao Zhan closer so he can hide in the alpha’s shoulder.
“Yibo, focus on his question instead of the needle, okay? If you need to, tell me, and pretend he isn’t here” Xiao Zhan instructs, turning so he can press his front to Yibo’s leg and grabbing Yibo’s knee with his free hand. Yibo nods, he gives a quick glance to the doctor and the needle before refocusing on his mate.
“Ah, okay, so I’ve been feeling nauseous for the last few days, only threw up the one morning, I was dizzy a few times too. We don’t always use condoms, but I’m on the pill and then I fainted at work today, oh, I’m a dancer, I don’t know if that’s important” Xiao Zhan cannot stop the smile taking over his face at how he adds certain parts just for Dr. Liu’s benefit before jumping back into his symptoms. “Oh, and when I was talking to Lu-jie about everything she was the one that pointed out I could be pregna- ow” Yibo has started to almost ramble, when he cuts himself off, feeling the pinch from the needle as Dr. Liu begins to take his blood.
“Lu-jie is Xuan Lu, right? She’s pregnant, right?” Dr. Liu asks, smiling at Yibo as he covers the needle mark with a ball of gauze and a Band-Aid.
“Yes, she’s 7 months, she’s also the one that got Yibo the pregnancy tests” Xiao Zhan responds, lifting his hand from Yibo’s knee to cup the younger’s cheek and rub his thumb across it. Yibo gives him a small pout, looking for more attention and the alpha easily falls for it. Xiao Zhan leans into the younger, pressing a soft kiss to the top of his head and smiling when Yibo presses his face into the alpha’s chest.
“Ah, yes, she would be a good person to talk to, if you’re unsure, well I will take this over to the lab and I will be back in about 20 minutes with your results” Dr. Liu gives them a soft smile before he steps out of the room, leaving the couple alone again.
“Zhan-ge, my arm hurts now” Yibo pulls away from the alpha to stare up at him from under his lashes and playing up his pout. Xiao Zhan sighs and wraps his arms around the younger’s head, tugging Yibo forward into this hold and jokingly squeezing the younger in a tight bear hug. “Zhan-ge, stop. Xiao Zhan, STOP!” Yibo’s rising voice is muffled by the alpha’s arms and chest, when the alpha doesn’t let him go right away, Yibo begins to pinch and smack at the elder. “Ge, why? Stop, oh my god, Zhan-ge” Yibo begins to wiggle in his hold until Xiao Zhan finally lets him go, pulling away to smile at Yibo.
“Aw, I love you sweetheart” Xiao Zhan says, it earns him a bright smile from the younger. Yibo wraps his arms around the alpha’s shoulder’s and tugs him in close so he can lean up and press a kiss to the elder’s lips. Xiao Zhan smiles into the kiss, cupping Yibo’s jaw with a hand changing the angle as he deepens the kiss. Yibo’s moan is muffled by their lips but he is eager to open his mouth, allowing their tongues to tangle and brush. Xiao Zhan forces himself to pull away when he feels Yibo trying to lift his hips into his own, as enticing as a horny Yibo is, they cannot have sex in the Dr.’s office.
“Zhan-geee” Yibo whines when the alpha pulls away, he runs his hands down Xiao Zhan’s back to grab at the alpha’s ass and trying to pull him back in. Xiao Zhan tosses his head back as he laughs but he does not stop Yibo from grabbing at him and trying to pull him in. Xiao Zhan leaves his head tilted back as the younger presses a kiss to the mole below his lip.
“Yibo, Dr. Liu is going to be back soon” Xiao Zhan warns as he pulls himself from the younger’s hold and hopping onto the patient chair with him. The minute Xiao Zhan settles beside him, Yibo is clinging to his side and tugging one of Xiao Zhan’s hands between both of his.
They’re sitting there speaking quietly together for a few minutes before Dr. Liu steps back into the room.
“Well, I have the results and congratulations, you are pregnant” Dr. Liu announces after closing the door behind him. When neither of them responds, to his words, he starts to pull out pamphlets. “If you’re not planning to keep the fetus, there are other options, abortion, and adoption” Xiao Zhan looks to Yibo, rubbing the younger’s thigh with his free hand.
“Bo-di, you asked if I would be upset about the pregnancy, but I never thought to ask if you planned to keep it….?” Xiao Zhan trails off, waiting expectantly for Yibo to reply.
“You’re young so no one will judge you if you decide you’re not ready to be a parent yet” Dr. Liu adds in, hoping to help the omega in any way.
“I, I want to have the baby, does that change things?” Xiao Zhan isn’t quite sure who his response is directed at considering Yibo’s staring at his lap. Xiao Zhan lifts his hand from the omega’s knee to tilt the younger’s face up and turn it towards him.
“Hey, puppy, this does not change things between us. Yes, it’s earlier than either of us ever thought or planned but I mean, we were headed there, weren’t we?” Yibo gives a tiny nod, eyes never leaving the alpha’s as he talks. Dr. Liu stands back and lets them work things out, he’s had far worse conversations between expecting couples.
“Yeah, so, we’re having a baby?” Yibo asks, eyes leaving Xiao Zhan’s to look back at the doctor who gives him a small smile and a nod.
“You are, the test results show that the fetus is 10 weeks, or 2.5 months. Which means conception happened between September 28th and October 5th” Dr. Liu says, handing a piece of paper to Yibo. Yibo stares at it as he tries to understand what it means while Xiao Zhan peeks from over his shoulder. “I have pamphlets for first time parents, ones directed towards male alpha and male omega pairings as pregnancies for male omega’s are different from a female omega” Dr. Liu continues, handing 2 pamphlets to the alpha as Yibo is still staring at his results. “Do you have any questions for me?” Dr. Liu waits to see if they do, Xiao Zhan gives a small shake of his head before carefully nudging the younger. Yibo seems to agree with the alpha as he gives a small head shake of his own, eyes never leaving the paper with his result in front of him.
“No, thank you” Xiao Zhan responds for them both and gives the doctor a small smile.
“Alright, well if you do have any questions later, feel free to call me. You should also stop at the receptionist to schedule your first ultrasound” Dr. Liu informs them before he takes his leave from the room. Xiao Zhan and Yibo sit in silence for a few minutes before the alpha carefully helps the younger from his seat and leads him out of the room.
Xiao Zhan leads them to the receptionist, stopping and waiting in the short line to schedule the ultrasound.
“Hello again, what can I do for you?” the receptionist smiles at them, which Yibo completely ignores, reading through the pamphlets the doctor gave them.
“I would like to book an ultrasound for Wang Yibo” Xiao Zhan starts, his hand shooting out to catch the younger’s wrist when he leans too far to one side and nearly stumbles over, and gently pulls Yibo into his side. He catches the receptionists eyeing the pamphlets in Yibo’s hands from watching Xiao Zhan catching him.
“Yes, of course. The earliest we have open is in 2 days at 1pm, does that work?” she asks, Xiao Zhan quickly pulls out his phone to check his work schedule before turning to Yibo.
“Hey, sweetheart, can you do Friday at 1pm?” Xiao Zhan must flip the pamphlet down a bit to catch the omega’s eyes, and when Yibo realizes he is being spoken too, he responds.
“Hm, Friday at 1? Yeah, I’ll let Lu-jie know” Yibo nods, handing the pamphlets to the elder so he can fish his cell out of his pocket and give a quick message to Xuan Lu.
“Yes, that would be fine, thank you” Xiao Zhan nods, pocketing his own cell phone after adding the appointment. The receptionist nods and fills the silence with the clicking of her fingers on the keyboard as she adds their appointment to the clinics schedule. They leave the clinic a few minutes later, Xiao Zhan pocketing the appointment slip in his wallet for safe keeping and leads them to the car with a guiding hand on the small of Yibo’s back.
The car ride home is filled with a peaceful silence, only interrupted by Yibo reading some piece of information out loud to the alpha. Xiao Zhan does not bother to hide the fond smile that takes over his face while he listens to his excited yet nervous omega.
“Hey, Zhan-ge when should we tell our parents?” the omega’s words surprise Xiao Zhan, luckily they were already back at their apartment building and heading up in the elevator when the younger sprung the question on him. Xiao Zhan pauses in thought, slinging his free arm around the younger’s waist and pulling him into his side while thinking.
“Well, when do you want to tell them? After the ultrasound appointment? We could do a video call and show them the ultrasound image?” the younger nods in agreement, liking the idea of being able to not only tell their parents the good news but also showing them.

The next 2 days go by in a flash, Yibo is distracted by his dance classes most of the days, even while at home. Xiao Zhan is more than content to watch the younger as he tries to think up new choreographies to teach the students.
Before either of them is ready, Friday morning is upon them and Xiao Zhan feels like he was just dropping off Yibo at 7am when he is once again pulling into Xuan Lu’s dance studio parking lot. Yibo’s first ultrasound appointment is in less than an hour and he can see the excitement radiating off the younger as he rushes out of the studio and into the car.
“Hi Zhan-ge” Yibo whispers as he leans over the center console to press a hard kiss to the alpha’s mouth and lingering. Xiao Zhan smiles, catching the back of the younger’s neck and pulling him in closer, kissing the younger’s plush bottom lip before slipping his tongue into Yibo’s waiting open mouth. They kiss some more before Yibo is pulling away, settling into the passenger seat, and buckling himself in.
“Ready puppy?” with the younger’s nod, Xiao Zhan pulls out of the parking lot and drives them down to the clinic. The clinics parking lot looks busier than it was 2 days ago when they stopped in and Xiao Zhan feels a surge of protectiveness rising inside of him as they climb out of his car. When he reaches for Yibo, the younger is more than happy to drape the alpha’s arm over his shoulders.
As they step into the clinic, Xiao Zhan understands why those feelings came over him. The clinics waiting room is filled with pregnant women and men, everything from alpha’s to omega’s, single to mated and the worst being the people who are there for other reasons. Xiao Zhan knows that Yibo is attractive and the scent of a young fertile and pregnant omega can be enticing to those who do not care to respect others. The alpha realizes that Yibo has caught onto his discomfort when the younger presses himself in close to the alpha’s side and clings to him with both arms wrapped around his waist.
They join the end of the line for the reception desk, waiting to check in for their appointment. Yibo carefully eyes the people scattered around the waiting room, eyes linger on the more heavily pregnant occupants and even some of the ones with small children. He catches Xiao Zhan’s attention by rubbing his nose along the alpha’s jaw, and gently nods his head in the direction of a young child walking freely around the waiting room. The alpha smiles and is careful to avoid bumping into the child when he and Yibo step forward as the line in front of them shrinks.
“Ah, hello again, here for your ultrasound?” the receptionist that greets them is the same one they saw 2 days prior.
“We are” Yibo is quick to say, his genuine smile taking its rightful spot on his mouth as he responds to the beta woman.
“Alright, shouldn’t be too long, have a seat and I’ll call when they’re ready” they nod together before Xiao Zhan leads them to a corner that has less people waiting. The elder makes Yibo take the open seat while he leans against the wall beside him. Yibo grabs for the elder’s hand that is resting against Xiao Zhan’s side and pulls it in as close to himself as he can. Xiao Zhan shifts closer to give Yibo more of his arm as they wait, and he tries not to stare down the other’s that have taken notice of them.
“Zhan-ge, why are some of them staring?” Yibo asks, as he has noticed quite a few people eyeing them. His head tilts up to catch the look of barely concealed anger on the alpha’s face and he tugs at their joined hands when the elder doesn’t look at him right away.
“Pregnant omegas give off an entrancing pheromone, that attracts an alpha’s baser instincts. That mixed with the fact that you’re an attractive shit, makes you very appealing right now” Xiao Zhan’s words are hushed but Yibo can hear how tense he is.
“I don’t know if I should take that as a compliment or not” Yibo murmurs to the elder, eyes straying away from Xiao Zhan when he feels someone watching him. He looks around the room trying to find the person staring at him and once he does, he realizes that Xiao Zhan had already noticed and has been slowly trying to shift himself between the man and Yibo.
“Wang Yibo, the doctor is ready now” the beta receptionist calls out to them and Yibo can see Xiao Zhan relaxing immediately. Yibo stands and with his grip on the alpha, he leads them after the receptionist as she directs them to patient room.
This room is like the one they were in 2 days ago except this one has what Yibo assumes is the ultrasound machine, tucked into a corner of the room. He wanders over to the crinkly chair and settles on the protective cover and watches as Xiao Zhan sits on the edge by his hips. The alpha is sitting with his body turned towards Yibo and reaches his hand out to lay over Yibo’s flat and covered stomach.
“I feel like this ultrasound is going to make things more real” Xiao Zhan states, his eyes lifting from his hand on Yibo’s stomach to the younger’s face. Yibo searches his eyes to figure out if his words are something to be worried about or not.
“Does that freak you out?” Yibo asks, when he is unable to determine how to feel from just looking into the alpha’s eyes.
“Yes but it’s a good kind, I’m excited for a baby” Yibo smiles, overjoyed that his alpha feels the same way as he does. Yibo laces his fingers with the ones resting on his stomach, his eyes shining with happiness as he continues to look at the elder. “How does this make you feel?”
“Honestly, I’m freaking out a bit but having you here and knowing you feel the same helps” Yibo admits. Xiao Zhan smiles at him, leaning carefully over the younger to press a soft kiss to his mouth.
“Oh, hello” they snapped apart to see Meng Ziyi standing in the doorway with a smug smile on her face. Xiao Zhan groaned, pressing his forehead to Yibo’s as he eyed his friend.
“I forgot you were doing your placement here, as an ultrasound technician” Yibo ‘oh’ d in understanding, they were planning to tell their friends later, after this weekend but now 2 of them knew.
“Yeah, your memory Xiao Zhan is really lacking” she teased as she grabbed the ultrasound machine from the corner and brought it towards them. “Your file says you’re 2.5 months” she gives Yibo a soft smile before she begins to set up the ultrasound machine. “So, you knocked him up around your birthday huh?” she continues to tease the pair and smiles at the omega’s blush. Xiao Zhan just groans at her words.
“How did I never know this?” Yibo asks the room at large, eyes moving between the alpha and beta. Xiao Zhan pauses, clearly trying to think, while Meng Ziyi laughs, shaking her head.
“Well, she usually doesn’t like to talk about work while not at work” Xiao Zhan starts.
“Yep, so you’re going to want to lift your shirt” she states, and Yibo is quick to shift forward, pulling his hoodie off and handing it to the alpha before lifting his t-shirt up his chest and settling back on the chair. “This might be a little cold” she warns before squeezing some gel out onto the omega’s bare stomach and causing Yibo to flinch slightly at the cold gel.
Xiao Zhan watches, eyes shifting from Ziyi, to Yibo and fuzzy monitor the ultrasound machine is connected to. Ziyi pointed out the images being displayed on the screen and she directed them to the heartbeat. She printed off a couple copies of the images for them to take home and share with their parents.
“Alright, everything looks well, you will want to set another ultrasound for a few weeks from now. It’s just to keep an eye on both your health and growth during the pregnancy as well as the fetus” she smiles, slipping the printed images into an envelope and handing it to Xiao Zhan while Yibo tugs his hoodie back on.
“How early could we possibly find out the gender?” Yibo’s question surprises Xiao Zhan, he wasn’t aware that the younger was already thinking about the baby’s gender.
“Well, you’re 10 weeks now so, the earliest would-be next month” Ziyi answered as she led them back out to the reception desk. The receptionist smiled at them as she greeted them and happily let Ziyi take over her desk for a moment. “Would you like to come back on January 3rd for your next appointment? Hopefully, I will be able to tell you the gender with that ultrasound” she asks and waits for their response.
“That’s 4 weeks away, is that okay?” Xiao Zhan questioned, he was not doubting his friend, he was just overly protective.
“Yes, Xiao Zhan, 26 weeks pregnant: appointment every four weeks. 26 to 32 weeks: appointment every three weeks. 32 to 36 weeks: appointment every two weeks. This ultrasound would be more for the gender and a checkup and if there are any concerns you are free to come in earlier” she smiles at the alpha’s protectiveness. “We have a free spot at 3:15pm”.
“That’s fine, right Zhan-ge?” Yibo asks, leaning into the alpha as he waits for the elder to respond.
“Yeah, that’s fine, thanks Ziyi” Xiao Zhan takes the appointment slip and tucks it away into his wallet. Yibo smiles and says goodbye to the elder beta as he follows the alpha out of the clinic.
“Can we video call our parents tonight and tell them, or show them the ultrasound images?” Yibo asks, slipping into the passenger seat as Xiao Zhan settles behind the wheel. He smiles at the younger’s enthusiasm.
“Yeah sweetheart, we can call them, did you want a group video call or separate?” he asks, carefully pulling out of the parking lot and heading back to their apartment.

They wait till after they have eaten dinner before calling their parents. They decided it would be better to do a group call so they can tell both their parents at once. They greet their parents and Yibo is so excited that he is barely able stop squirming in his seat.
“So, we have a surprise for you” Xiao Zhan starts before he pulls a sealed envelope out from his shoulder bag that is on the couch beside them. He hands it to Yibo and watches as the younger eagerly opens the envelope and holds the ultrasound image in front of himself so their parents can see it clearly.
“Wang Yibo is that what I think it is?” Yibo’s mother is the first to speak, she tries to hide the joy in her voice but Yibo and his father can hear it.
“Xiao Zhan, if you two are playing with us, I might have a few choice words for you” everyone laughs at Mama Xiao’s threat. Xiao Zhan shakes his head before he replies.
“No Ma, it’s true, Yibo is pregnant” Yibo bounces beside the alpha, his whole body moving with his head as he nods. There is a large smile on both of their faces and slowly their parent’s faces begin to follow.
“Oh, my baby is going to have a baby!” Yibo’s mother nearly screams and Xiao Zhan sees exactly where Yibo gets his pretty smile. They all watch as she turns to her husband and shakes his shoulder, her voice going higher in her excitement.
“Mama calm down” Yibo tries to be stern but he cannot help but to laugh at his mother and his father allowing her to do as he pleases.
“Xiao Zhan, I did not think you would get my son pregnant so early” Yibo’s father says to the other, but he is not unkind with his words.
“Ah, yeah we did not plan for it, but we’re happy” the elder replies to his father-in-law and gets Yibo’s attention by lightly grabbing the younger’s knee.
“Baba, we’re really happy” Yibo’s smile has everyone cooing at the young omega.
“Yibo, how far along are you?” Papa Xiao asks the youngest. His question has his wife and Wang’s murmuring as well, everyone wanting to know.
“Oh, I’m 2.5 months, 10 weeks to be exact” Yibo smiles, he turns the image in his hands over so he can take another look at it.
“We’ve got a copy of the ultrasound for each of you” Xiao Zhan adds on, and to prove his point he pulls the copies out of the envelope and shows them off.
“So, you’re due in early July then” Mama Xiao comments. Yibo pauses, eyes turning to Xiao Zhan and looking to the elder for the answer.
“Ah, we didn’t ask but that would make sense” Xiao Zhan says and lifts his hand to tuck some of the younger’s fluffy brown hair behind his ear.
They spend another few hours speaking with their parents, discussing when their next visit will be and more about the baby. Their parents promise to come down when Yibo gets closer to help them with the baby shower, nursery and whatever else the young couple might need. They thank their parents and are soon saying their goodbyes.
“So, what time do we have to be at the restaurant tomorrow?” Yibo questions, his words are mumbled through his mouth full of toothpaste. Xiao Zhan looks at the younger from the corner of his eye but only answers Yibo after he has spit out his own mouth full of toothpaste.
“Yubin wants us all to be there for 6:45pm” the younger hums back, relaxing as the alpha wraps his arms around Yibo’s waist and presses a minty kiss to the younger’s pulse. Yibo smiles, stretching up and turning in the elder’s arms to rub his cheek against the alpha’s throat and scent gland. Xiao Zhan holds the younger to his chest and let’s Yibo scent him to his heart’s content.
“Mn, Zhan-ge I’m tired” the younger whines into the alpha’s neck, pressing himself flush to the elder’s body and clinging to him. Xiao Zhan smiles, bending with Yibo against him and picking the younger up by the back of his thighs. Yibo tightens his hold around the alpha when he feels his feet coming off the floor and helps the alpha wrap his legs around Xiao Zhan’s waist. When the elder is confident he won’t drop his pregnant mate, he carefully carries Yibo to their bed and nest, careful not to ruin it again as he climbs in with Yibo still in his arms. Xiao Zhan did not realize just how tired his omega was until he realizes Yibo is fast asleep and he must adjust the younger’s sleeping position by himself.
“Goodnight sweetheart” Xiao Zhan whispers into the top of Yibo’s head, arms wrapped securely around the youngers waist and their legs tangled together beneath their blankets. Within the next half an hour, Xiao Zhan is following the younger into a deep sleep.

“C’mon puppy, if we don’t leave now, we’ll be late” Xiao Zhan calls out to the younger as he can hear Yibo grumbling from their bedroom. When there is no response he wanders down the hallway and peaks into the bedroom. Yibo’s back is to him as the younger tugs one of the alpha’s hoodies out of their closet and turns to him with a triumphant grin.
“Zhan-ge can you scent this for me?” Yibo asks, stepping into the alpha and holding the hoodie up to the elder’s neck. Xiao Zhan sighs but obediently rubs the hoodie against his scent gland, letting his alpha scent overpower the hoodies clean laundry smell.
“Put that on and let’s go” Xiao Zhan helps the younger pull the hoodie on over his head, Yibo fixes it as the alpha leads him out of their room and to the front hall. They quickly pull on their shoes and coats and make their way out to the Trivia pub.
“Hey, look at them, they’re matching” Yubin’s voice calling out is the first thing that greets them as they step into the pub. His words have all the attention, even from people they do not know, turning to look at them. They are in matching outfits, it was unintentional but they’re both wearing blue jeans, Yibo’s are ripped, and hoodies, Yibo’s is wearing Xiao Zhan’s pink hoodie while the alpha is wearing a light grey hoodie. They’re also not surprised to see that Yubin has some random woman sitting beside him, Xiao Zhan assumes she is his most recent ‘date’.
“We’re a couple so we’re allowed to wear couple outfits” Yibo states, wrapping his arm around one of Xiao Zhan’s as they walk towards the table Yubin reserved for their large friend group. Xiao Zhan smiles, pulling out a chair for Yibo and waiting for the younger to sit before he does.
By 7pm, their entire group of friends have arrived and settled into their seats. Greetings and introductions have been done and now they are catching up as they browse the menu.
“Okay, I’m getting a few pints of beer for us to share. Zhanzhan you going to join your omega and drink with us?” Yubin announces, but it’s his question that has 4 of them pausing and looking to each other.
“Actually, we’re only drinking tea tonight” Xiao Zhan replies after silently conversing with Yibo.
“What? C’mon, don’t be a bunch of party poopers” Yubin whines.
“Nope, you’ll have to harass the others into joining you” Xiao Zhan just laughs at his friend’s complaints.
“Ugh, what, is Yibo pregnant or something, you’re acting like Lulu” Yubin grumbles and at his mention of the omega being pregnant, everything seems to pause. “Wait, shit is he?” Yubin asks again, watching as Ziyi, Xuan Lu and the couple in question exchange glances.
“Actually, yes, I’m pregnant” Yibo answers, his face is half defiant and half shy. Xiao Zhan smiles at the younger, wrapping an arm around his mate while his other hand fishes something out of his pocket.
“Oh, let me see” Xuan Lu says, reaching for the ultrasound image that Xiao Zhan has just flashed the table. He laughs but leans over to hand it to her as she asked.
“Shit, congratulations you guys” Yubin says and this leads the rest of the table to congratulate them as well, even toasting them. Their ultrasound image is passed around the table and even shown off to the wait staff when they return with the table’s orders.

“Alright, get home safely” Xiao Zhan calls out to his friends as he and Yibo slip back into his car. The night had been fun, he and Yibo had been on the winning team with Bowen and Jiyang, while Yubin was on the losing team. They had spent a good 2 or more hours in the trivia pub but now it was getting late and Xiao Zhan wanted to get his young mate back home.
