Chapter Text
:) disorganized (plus rambly) place for me to put my planning and other stuff for released chapters because i know its fun to see thought processes sometimes. Something to tide y’all over while I procrastinate on Game Over: Beta (sorry bout that)
Be warned: most of this is written when im only kept awake by adrenaline so there will be lots of: misspellings (brain moving too fast for my fingers, plus i have the tendency to jitter when im tired. Might end up in extra letters) nonsensical sentences (tired. Brain doesn't care about proofreading) and sometimes odd non-sequiturs (once again: brain tired, fuck proofreading)
Be warned! Start of every chapter of pages is usually a little note with which GO:Beta chapters will be rambled about. The first ~5 to 7 chapters are part of the intro arc. Past that till chapter 11 is the test arc, and so on. If you havent read all of the chapters mentioned, chances are you might get some spoilers.
Intro arc & Test arc (Chapter 1-11)
This chapter will be me screaming about Game Over: Alpha! (Basically proto-GO:B) as I hope you have learned by now (unless you haven't seen my announcement chapter) I am writing a Final Reboot of GO at the same time as GO:B. Plus life is kinda dragging me down, leading to very slow updates.... Many apologies.
Anyways! About Beta! Unfortunately posted almost all winging it, except for a single sticky note i have taped up on my wall:
- Iidadeku fic (not ship-centric)
- (Game Over?)
- Midoriya has a quirk similar to MC from The Gamer (webtoons) he assumes the things he sees are normal + hes clinically quirkless.
- *He can respawn! :)
- Fails UA so becomes vigilante
- Beating up villains gave “EXP”
I threw almost everything here away. I’d toyed with doing in-depth stats for him, but realized its rather difficult to power balance and keep it not Too suspicious, plus it was too tedious and my hyper, ADHD-riddled monkey brain couldn’t handle it.
I didn’t keep the Iidadeku because i just couldn’t think of a proper way to keep the relationship natural, unforced. Originally i planned for their first meeting to be during the USJ. Izuku was going to have either snuck into a portal with the villains but its more likely he would have been accidentally pulled in (he was supposed to be much cooler than i write him right now, but i can’t take him seriously… he just isnt Izuku anymore if he’s super badass.)
Second meeting was going to be with Stain. Izuku just… somehow happened to be in the area and saw stain attacking Native and Iida. Iida would have been all “!!! villain/vigilante! You are against the law, kindly allow yourself to be taken into police custody! Also maybe thx for helping me? maybe” with a lot of arm waving. Idk it was cuter in my head i don’t really understand how its romantic now that i wrote it down. Anyways around the time this had popped into my head i was on a Spiderman fic kick, so. Haha brain went: “Spiderman kiss. Do it do the spiderman kiss do the funky upsidedown smooching i need to write a spiderman kiss in here”
Maybe it could still be iidadeku but not how i originally planned. Only if its natural.
he didn’t fail UA. that much is obvious enough, in chapter 12 at least which will be released pretty soon. (sorry about the wait! Writers block hit me like a train and i’m still tied to the tracks) i originally wanted him to be very good at fighting when he first appeared in the story as an actually vigilante.. And couldn’t realistically see that happening within 8~ish months (which i decided to correct in “GO:I Totally Have a Plan This Time”). So i shifted my timetables, as it were, around so that izuku… is only passably mediocre at dodging and some sneak attacks. Hes not particularly strong or a genius or a master of his quirk and hacking and everything remotely connected. GO:ITHaPTT
When you first see him in GO:Beta as a bona-fide vigilante, he’s just targeting lone thugs and purse snatchers. He has the advantage of the whole thing being nearly riskless: he’ll just die and respawn if anyone manages to catch him. Still, getting beat up isnt fun to when he gets outnumbered he bolts. He was lucky with eraserhead, both times (or maybe more? How many times have they met?) as he was able to startle him in some way to escape. It would be game over (ha-ha!) if he were unmasked while fighting as Player… and revealed to be Izuku MIdoriya.
Anyways. Hes kinda shit at the whole vigilante thing but he shows enough resourcefulness to get into UA anyways, because he was lucky enough to put Enough of his stats in dexterity and agility. Which, you know, helped him scale the giant robot.
Now! I believe that was most of my tired rambling, and im sorry i had to show this to the world but I'm desperate to at least post Something because otherwise I feel like I'm taking up everyones' space (: I'm a bit of a sad clown like that, you see
