A flash of light and then everything went black.
...What was this? Where was she? Why couldn't she see anything? Why couldn't she move? There was this thing surrounding her, trapping her and whatever it was, she needed to get… out…!
Something cracked and gave way and Oka, with a sigh of relief, climbed out of her prison.
Only to immediately freeze upon seeing her surroundings.
Spiders. Huge spiders. And they were everywhere.
Why was she in a sea of man-sized spiders?!
Oka immediately retreated to the nearest wall of the cave, why was she in a cave, and stared in horror at the sight before her. Spiders, and Eggs, and Spiders coming out of Eggs, and Spiders eating Spiders, and was that a KINGKONG-SIZED SPIDER BACK THERE?
Oka pinched her arm to make sure she wasn't dreaming and… wait.
WHAT HAPPENED TO HER ARMS?
It took a while but Oka finally had to admit, that she had, in fact, become a spider. One just like the ones all around her.
Did that mean all these spiders were other people?
Looking around, Oka decided that no, that probably wasn't the case. Everyone else seemed to behave in an animal-like fashion, running on pure instinct.
...Eating other spiders on pure instinct.
But then she saw it. Another baby spider came out of an egg and looked around, like it was confused, with none of the automatic movements the other spiders seemed to have. And then it turned around and ran, only to freeze when it saw spiders the other way too.
Even if it wasn't a human, it was clearly different from the other spiders. And probably smarter. And it kind of seemed scared. Even without knowing anything about what was going on, Oka wanted to go and help that spider.
Besides, getting allies was always the right move. And she might not get another chance like this.
Mind made up, Oka approached the other spider. It shrunk away from her and Oka stopped. She should probably try to introduce herself first.
Except… she couldn't talk. No sound came out. At least the other spider had stopped backing away.
Oka tried her best to pantomime with her body, pointing to the wall she came from and motioning for the other spider to come with her. She wasn't sure if the message got across, but when she moved to go, the other spider followed.
They reached the little alcove Oka had found for herself and stopped. Oka turned to look at her new spider ally and softly touched their plating with her front leg. She received a hesitant pat back in return.
Now… if there were two, there were bound to be more right?
