Literally Always

Summary:

It was fine at first; Hyojin even thought it was cute for a while. But Seungjun's been maintaining the same hair color for four months now, well past what could be considered fan-service. And every time Seungjun goes to the salon and comes home with red hair, Hyojin gets a little more bitter about it. Because it's obvious Seungjun's not doing it for the fans.

He's doing it for Hoetaek.

Notes:

This idea came to me when Hyojin posted photos on ONF's fancafe after their Inkigayo performance on March 14 of him and Seungjun with matching purple hair. I meant for it to be a short fic and it just sort of... spiraled out of control, lol! I wrote the whole thing in about ten days.

Throughout the process I was lucky to have a lot of cheerleading, some on Twitter and a whole lot from my girlfriend, Joy. Not only did she have to endure all the hours I spent feverishly writing and editing this thing, she also took on the herculean task of betaing it (not to mention helping me tag it and serve as quality control for the accompanying mood board). The fic, as with all my work, is a million times better thanks to her touch, and I am endlessly grateful for her hard work and support. 😘

Work Text:

Hyojin knows normalcy is just a social construct, that saying something is "normal" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone, even to two people living the same kind of life in the same city at the same point of time. He often forgets his version of normal is so different from other 28 year olds, probably because he's sharing the experience with five other people.

Almost certainly because he's sharing it with Seungjun.

Seungjun's been part of Hyojin's normal for half his life. They're not attached at the hip anymore the way they always were in middle school, but Hyojin's experienced all the big moments of his life since he was thirteen with Seungjun. Even (and especially) the private ones.

They were each other's first kiss all those years ago, ducked into a random alley halfway between their vocal academy and the train station on a chilly winter night. It lasted maybe half a second, but Hyojin still remembers everything about it, texture of Seungjun's mittens on his cheeks, the frigid brick wall behind his back. The heat of Seungjun's breath, his rough, chapped lips pressed against Hyojin's, just damp enough to make Hyojin's stomach flip, to invite the bite of cold air when Seungjun pulled away.

That was a decade ago, back when all they had were dreams and ambitions, when the life they're living now seemed completely out of reach. They've been through a lot since then – training and debut, competition shows and comebacks, stress and worry and exhaustion, failures and successes and everything in between – but all of it together. Most couples who meet in middle school don't make it through high school, let alone all of that.

But they're not most couples. Not that the life they chose makes maintaining a secret gay romance particularly easy. Finding time to be alone together is nearly impossible, and even though they love each other more than anything, that little extra bit of distance can sometimes be too much.

But they make it work. They always have.

Hyojin knows he isn't the easiest person to love. He spends too much time in his own head, can be impatient and prickly and overly critical, is unrelentingly competitive. Seungjun has always been gentler, kinder, more patient. He's exactly what Hyojin needs, to balance him out, to ground him. And while Hyojin's influence has definitely helped Seungjun be more confident, Hyojin can't help thinking Seungjun could be so much happier with someone nicer. He's just been too selfish all this time to let go.

Which is maybe the most important reason Hyojin doesn't have any room to be upset about Seungjun's relationship with Hoetaek. Or whatever it is.

Although it's their first time actually exploring something like this, the idea itself isn't new. It's just that Seungjun would never have asked for it himself, and there's no way Hyojin could let the opportunity slip by, not when Seungjun and Hoetaek's chemistry can be seen from space. Not once Hyojin noticed how brightly Hoetaek makes Seungjun smile.

It isn't fair for Hyojin to be jealous, but he is. And he knows he could tell them he's changed his mind, that he's not okay with it anymore, but the reason he suggested the two of them date each other in the first place hasn't changed. So he swallows down his hurt feelings and puts his acting skills to good use, tells himself his heartache is worth it, because Seungjun seems really happy.

It's hard, but Hyojin manages it. And after a couple months spent pretending he starts to feel like he's almost okay with it for real.

Everything changes the day Hoetaek and Seungjun kiss for the first time. Hyojin doesn't witness it of course, but Seungjun tells him about it the second he gets home, his face flushed and eyes glittering.

All Hyojin can see is a sixteen year old Seungjun in an alley halfway between their vocal academy and the train station, cheeks pink from the chilly night air, chapped lips damp and dark eyes shining. He sees the happiness and adoration and excitement he remembers from back then in Seungjun's expression right now.

But, this time, it isn't for him.

He feels like the jealousy will swallow him whole. Because he's always known Seungjun's too good for him, but now maybe Seungjun's going to start seeing it, too.

He somehow manages to keep his true feelings hidden despite the sick feeling that grows in the pit of his stomach every time Hoetaek's name comes up in conversation, every time Hyojin catches Seungjun smiling at one of Hoetaek's messages. He buries himself in work, goes on Vlive constantly, practices choreography and exercises until he can barely move, does anything he can think of to keep himself distracted. It's exhausting, but it's better than the alternative.

He hates himself for it, but when Hoetaek finally leaves for basic training Hyojin's so relieved.

Except Hyojin doesn't feel any better after Hoetaek enlists. It's obvious Seungjun misses him, but he doesn't make a big deal of it, hardly even mentions Hoetaek now that they're not talking to each other every day. There's nothing for Hyojin to be jealous about anymore, so he should be able to get over it. And he wants to, desperately, but he can't.

All because of Seungjun's stupid hair.

It wasn't even Seungjun or Hoetaek's idea, the "couple hair." It was supposed to be a joke, because Seungjun already had the red in his hair and Hoetaek wanted something he could do before enlistment. Because Hyunggu thought it would be fun for Universe and Fuse to see how close the groups have gotten since Road to Kingdom.

And it was fine at first; Hyojin even thought it was cute for a while.

Hyojin doesn't realize just how upset he is until Seungjun walks through the door with freshly-dyed red hair two weeks after Hoetaek's enlistment. Hyojin's not sure he's ever felt this intensely angry so quickly in his life.

He doesn't confront Seungjun about it (he's too furious to even attempt to be reasonable), but he doesn't try very hard to hide the fact that he's pissed off either. Seungjun isn't the most observant person in the world, but the atmosphere between them for the rest of the day is so volatile that everyone notices, and by dinnertime the other members have mysteriously disappeared, leaving the two of them in the dorm alone.

"Should I order chicken?" Seungjun asks when he eases Hyojin's door open just after dark, his tone cautious, obviously aware he's on thin ice for something.

"I'm not hungry," Hyojin replies, not bothering to look up from his phone. It's not a lie even though he hasn't eaten all day; his stomach is so knotted up that putting food into it sounds like the worst thing in the world.

Seungjun slips into the room, stops a few steps away from Hyojin's bed. "Did I do something wrong?"

Hyojin exhales a rough breath, eyes fixed on his phone screen even though he hasn't been able to read much of anything all afternoon. "Are you planning to keep your hair like that forever?"

"You're mad about my hair?" Seungjun asks. He sounds confused and maybe a little offended. "I thought you liked it."

"I liked it when it was just you," Hyojin mutters, clenching his jaw.

Seungjun sits down on the edge of Hyojin's mattress. "He doesn't have his hair like this anymore," he says. "You know he doesn't."

"But it's still your couple's hair," Hyojin shoots back, finally tossing his phone to the side and lifting his head to meet Seungjun's eyes.

Seungjun looks wounded. "I haven't been doing it because of that," he says. "I didn't even ask for the color, they just did the same thing as last time. I had no idea it was upsetting you so much."

"It's not upsetting me," Hyojin snaps.

Seungjun gives him a look. "Oh yeah, not at all," he says sarcastically. "If you wanted me to change the color, you should have told me."

Hyojin bites the inside of his cheek. "I didn't want to tell you what to do with your hair."

"Jin-ah, you know I can't read your mind, right?" Seungjun says, starting to sound truly frustrated. "I don't even know what's going on right now."

"Nothing," Hyojin replies curtly. His jaw aches, his eyes stinging in a way he doesn't want to deal with right now. "Nothing's going on. Never mind."

Seungjun frowns. "I'll change my hair," he offers. "As soon as I can, okay? I'll change it."

"Don't bother," Hyojin says, his voice shaking a little. He needs this conversation to be over. "It's not your fault, it's mine, so don't, okay?"

They've known each other a long, long time, have fought dozens (if not hundreds) of times. They both know very well by now when to stop pushing, when to give up trying to fix things and let each other have some space.

"I'm ordering chicken," Seungjun says as he stands up from the bed. "I'll get enough for you, if you decide you want some."

And then he leaves, closing Hyojin's door behind him.

Hyojin doesn't eat. He doesn't even leave his room for the rest of the night, Changyoon and Yuto giving him a wide berth once they finally come back to the dorm. When he gets up early the next morning Seungjun's gone. Their manager tells them Seungjun had something he needed to do, that he'll be at SBS in time for their Inkigayo taping.

When Seungjun finally arrives his hair is bright orange. He looks pleased with himself, expectant, but for some reason Hyojin doesn't feel any less hurt. He knows it must have been a pain to strip the red and change the color at the last minute, that Seungjun probably had to wake up really early to allow the stylists enough time to do it. And it should be enough, that he put in so much effort on Hyojin's behalf, it should make Hyojin feel important and loved and wanted. But it just makes him feel guilty, like a shitty person for being so petty and childish.

Things remain tense between them for the next few days. Both Jaeyoung and Changyoon try to get them to make up but Seungjun isn't biting and Hyojin's not particularly interested in having to explain why he's still so upset. Everyone's walking on eggshells around the dorm and Hyojin feels bad about it, especially considering they're still in the middle of a comeback, but he can't seem to make himself do anything to fix it.

Sharing the leader position with Seungjun is usually great, both for them and for the group. Because they each know how the other thinks, because they've worked together for so long they already know the best way to compromise. It doesn't mean they don't ever fight, but when they do they tend to resolve their issues quickly, and without involving anyone else.

So it isn't often one of the other members has to intervene. It happens so infrequently in fact that Hyojin doesn't realize he's being cornered until Changyoon gets into their van right after him one morning and shuts the door.

"We aren't actually leaving early are we?" he guesses.

Changyoon shakes his head. "Jaeyoung and Yuto took our manager to get coffee and MK's distracting your better half, so that gives you fifteen minutes to tell me what's going on with you guys."

Ah, so it's a coordinated ambush. "Why are you asking me and not Seungjun?" he asks, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Who says MK's not gathering intel right now?"

Hyojin scowls, heaving a heavy sigh. "It's stupid," he begrudgingly admits. "Just something stupid I need to make myself get over."

"Does this stupid thing have anything to do with Hui hyung?"

Where Seungjun is endearingly unobservant, Changyoon is irritatingly astute. "That doesn't make it any less stupid."

Changyoon's expression softens. "I have a few guesses about what's going on here, but it's going to be way easier for me to give you advice if you just tell me what it is."

"I don't remember asking for advice," Hyojin mutters.

"Yeah, well the tension around the dorm is making everyone crazy, so I volunteered to try to get to the bottom of things."

"You lost at rock paper scissors didn't you?"

"I don't know why I always throw rock," Changyoon says, shaking his head. "It's like my brain can never come up with anything else."

The corner of Hyojin's mouth twitches in a brief, bare smile. "You don't have to do this," he says. "I'll get over myself. And in the meantime I'll try harder to stop brooding or whatever."

"I think you should just talk to me," Changyoon counters. "And make it quick, because we only have like ten minutes now until everyone else gets down here."

Hyojin grimaces, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "It's embarrassing. And I feel like a jackass about it."

Changyoon rolls his eyes. "I'm not going to judge you, okay? Just spit it out."

Hyojin's stomach is queasy at the idea of having to admit this to someone else, but he knows he's been causing trouble for the whole group for days. Plus Changyoon looks like he genuinely wants to help.

He takes a breath. "It's Seungjun's hair."

"His... hair?" Changyoon blinks at him in confusion. "Because it's orange now?"

Hyojin sighs, shaking his head. "No, not because it's orange. Because he got red again the other day, because of the... The couple hair. His couple hair with Hoetaek."

"But... It's orange now," Changyoon says, slowly like he's legitimately worried about Hyojin's sanity.

"I know," Hyojin huffs. "He re-dyed it because I yelled at him. About his hair being red again."

"So he changed it for you?"

"Yes."

"And you're still mad at him because...?"

Hyojin scrubs his palms over his face. "I told you it's stupid," he groans, his voice muffled behind his hands.

"Whatever it is, I'm sure it's not stupid," Changyoon says gently. "I just need you to explain."

Hyojin drops his hands into his lap, turns his gaze down to stare at them. "I'm not mad at him," he admits softly. "I'm jealous, I've been jealous."

"Of Hui hyung?"

Hyojin nods. "And, like, I get it. Hoetaek's so talented and cool and sexy and confident..."

"It sounds kinda like you've got a crush on him, too," Changyoon remarks, grinning when Hyojin lifts his head indignantly. "Continue," Changyoon prompts with a nod.

"I want Seungjun to look at me the way he looks at him," Hyojin says, tasting bile at the admission.

"You think Seungjun likes him more than he likes you?"

Hyojin wants to say no, but he'd be lying if he did. The truth is he's been thinking exactly that. And he's not even sure he could blame Seungjun if it turned out to be true.

"What if he does?" he asks, his voice a shaky whisper.

"He doesn't," Changyoon says.

"How do you know that?" Hyojin asks miserably.

"Because he's being just as broody right now as you are," Changyoon answers. "Because he got up at like four in the morning the other day to get his hair dyed for the second day in a row, apparently to try to make you feel better."

He offers Hyojin a sympathetic smile, reaching out to squeeze his hand. "I know you have a hard time seeing it because you're you and because you're feeling insecure right now, but Seungjun does look at you like that. He does it all the time."

He pauses to glance out the window, squeezing Hyojin's hand again before letting it go. "You're his favorite person in the world, no contest. No one else even comes close. Trust me on this."

Hyojin jumps when the van door slides open abruptly the second Changyoon stops speaking, Seungjun standing on the other side. "Uh," he says, looking back and forth between Changyoon and Hyojin. "Why are you guys down here already?"

"Hyojin got the time wrong," Changyoon says easily, ignoring Hyojin's glare.

Seungjun looks skeptical, but Changyoon just smiles at him until he shrugs and climbs into the van, sitting in the seat directly behind Hyojin. Hyojin's head moves automatically, following Seungjun, but he turns back when Changyoon taps his knee and mouths trust me.

The situation doesn't get immediately better after his conversation with Changyoon, but at least Hyojin doesn't feel angry anymore, which quickly improves the general mood of the whole group. He knows to start mending things with Seungjun he needs to apologize, but he needs a day or two to psyche himself up for it.

For better or worse, Sunday is White Day. And while it's been a while since either he or Seungjun have made any grand romantic gestures, they still always give each other small gifts on traditional couples holidays.

The apology is more important, but Hyojin can't stop himself from wanting to give Seungjun a slightly bigger present this year. It has to be innocuous of course, because the fans notice everything, and spending a lot of money would go against their longstanding agreement to keep things cheap. So he ends up buying Seungjun a bracelet from the convenience store, purple glass beads on an elastic cord, chosen because it was the nicest piece of jewelry on the discount rack in Seungjun's favorite color.

Hyojin stuffs the bracelet into the pocket of his performance pants as soon as he gets changed for their Inkigayo taping with the hope he'll have a chance to pull Seungjun aside before they have to perform. He's so preoccupied with the bracelet, with what he's planning to say, that he doesn't pay much attention to anything else while he's getting his hair and makeup done. Which is why he doesn't realize the little hairpiece their stylist noona clips into his bangs isn't silver like usual until she's urging him out of the chair.

"It's purple today," he says absently as he stares into the mirror, brushing the front of his hair with a fingertip.

"You okay?" Jaeyoung asks from where he's now sitting in the makeup chair behind him.

"Yes, fine," he says, turning to flash Jaeyoung a smile. "I'm fine."

Jaeyoung squints at him then glances at Yuto sitting in the next chair over. Yuto shrugs.

Jaeyoung turns back to Hyojin, expression skeptical. "Whatever you say, hyung."

Hyojin doesn't stick around to convince him; he has way more important things to do right now.

The problem is he can't seem to track down Seungjun. He was sitting in one of the blue chairs in their green room when Hyojin was called for hair and makeup, but MK's in his seat now, and Seungjun's nowhere to be seen.

"Hey, do you know where Seungjun went?"

MK looks up from the game he's playing on his phone long enough to shrug. "Haven't seen him."

Hyojin frowns. The green room isn't very big, so it doesn't take long to determine Seungjun's not here. He's not in the bathroom either, and when Hyojin texts him his phone pings in his backpack where it's still sitting under one of the chairs. They're not really supposed to be wandering the halls right now because of social distancing, so the only option Hyojin has left is to sit and wait.

Except Hyojin's terrible at being patient, even on a good day. He tries to sit still, to focus on anything that isn't the green room door, but he keeps catching his leg bouncing, can't make himself look at his phone long enough to even attempt to play any games. The time creeps closer and closer to when they're scheduled to record and Hyojin actually starts to worry something's happened to Seungjun, that he's sick or hurt or worse.

"There's no way you could kidnap someone in a place like this, right?" he asks Changyoon when he can no longer contain his panic.

Changyoon side-eyes him uneasily. "Are you contemplating turning to a life of crime?"

Hyojin looks at him flatly. "I don't want to kidnap anyone," he says. "I'm trying to convince myself I don't need to call in a missing person's report on my boyfriend."

Changyoon laughs, loud and abrupt, half the people in the room turning to look at them. "Sorry," he apologizes, waving them off with a sheepish grin before turning back to face Hyojin's glare. "What's that look for?"

"Aren't you worried?" Hyojin asks in a rushed whisper. "Where the hell is he? We go down for taping in ten minutes!"

"Oh, yeah, he's just going to meet us down there," Changyoon says.

Hyojin’s mouth drops open. "He... what? How do you know that?"

"He told me," Changyoon replies. "Like right after we got here."

The weird rush of relief and irritation that floods through Hyojin makes him momentarily dizzy. When he recovers, he punches Changyoon in the arm.

"Hey, ow!" Changyoon shouts, rubbing his wounded bicep. "What was that for?"

"You let me sit here and freak out when you knew where he was all this time!?"

"I didn't know you were freaking out!" Changyoon argues. "I thought you were just being, you know. You."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Like... Controlling?" Changyoon tries, then flinches back when Hyojin lifts his fist for another punch. "Not the right word," he quickly backpedals, raising his hands in self-defense. "Just... You like to make sure things go a certain way."

Hyojin takes a breath in an attempt to lower his blood pressure. He briefly considers homicide, but they definitely don't have enough time right now to rework the choreography for five people. He sighs.

"You still should have told me."

"You didn't ask," Changyoon says. "But I'll tell you next time," he adds quickly. "Just please don't hit me again."

"Time to go!" their manager calls before Hyojin can reply, saving Changyoon from the immediate threat of additional beatings.

Hyojin heartbeat quickens as they walk down the hall toward the soundstage, anxious to see Seungjun even though he knows they won't have time to talk until after the taping is over. He tucks his hand into his pocket and feels the bracelet there anyway, letting it calm him a little. The only thing that's changed is the timing; all his plans are still the same.

Seungjun's standing on stage talking to one of the backup dancers when they arrive. He's smiling, his eyes sparkling in the stage lights; he's so radiant Hyojin momentarily forgets how to breathe.

It's dark offstage when they do their pre-performance cheer and then Hyojin's distracted, by the dancers and the camera people, by the PD giving instructions. So he doesn't notice until they get into their starting position that Seungjun's re-dyed his hair again.

It's purple. Specifically the exact same purple as the hairpiece clipped into Hyojin's bangs.

It has to be a coincidence. If it isn't it means Seungjun had to ask the stylist noona ahead of time to get a purple hairpiece, or dye the silver one to match. It just seems like too much, for Seungjun to go to all that trouble just for Hyojin.

He really shouldn't let himself hope this is for him, he just can't seem to make his heart stop.

"You changed your hair," he whispers, turning his head a little toward where Seungjun is standing beside him, their arms linked as they wait for the PD to cue the music.

"Yeah," Seungjun murmurs in reply. "Do you like it?"

Hyojin swallows; his heart is racing. "It's pretty," he says. "I like it."

Seungjun tugs softly on Hyojin's arm with his own, just enough to get Hyojin to look over at him again. "Couple's hair," he mouths as the countdown for their music starts.

Hyojin doesn't remember the rehearsal performance at all. It goes by in a blur, like he's singing and dancing completely on autopilot, his brain disconnected from his body. By the time they hit their ending poses he feels like he's waking up from a dream, heartbeat thudding and chest heaving. Seungjun turns his head from where he's looking back at the camera and they lock eyes.

It feels like the floor drops from beneath Hyojin's feet.

The PD calls for everyone to reset for the real performance and Hyojin knows he needs to go offstage to monitor the rehearsal, but he's frozen in place, caught in Seungjun's gaze, blood rushing in his ears. Seungjun closes the step between them and reaches out to grip Hyojin's forearm, holding onto him tightly.

"Are you okay?" he asks. "Do you need to sit down?"

"Did you ask the noona to put purple in my hair?" Hyojin's voice is shaking; it sounds desperate even to his own ears.

Seungjun looks suddenly nervous. "I did."

Hyojin's chest goes tight. "And then you did it too," he fumbles.

"Yes," Seungjun says, his mouth curving in the tentative beginnings of a smile.

"Because you wanted us to have couple's hair."

Seungjun nods, biting down on his bottom lip. "For White Day," he says, his gaze so full of love it steals the air from Hyojin's lungs. "For you."

Hyojin's laugh is almost a sob, choked by the emotions welling in him. "I can't believe you did that for me, it's so much," he says, trembling all over, overwhelmed. "All I got you was a bracelet."

Seungjun smiles, wide and bright, and the only thing that keeps Hyojin from kissing him breathless is the half-dozen television cameras pointed right at them. That and there's still a performance to record. But Hyojin gets to carry the memory of that beautiful smile with him as they get back to work, and his heart skips a beat every single time he catches a glimpse of Seungjun's purple hair.

They sit quietly side by side in the back row of the van on the way home, Seungjun's head resting on Hyojin's shoulder, their hands intertwined between them. It reminds Hyojin a little of when they first became trainees at WM, neither of them fully prepared for how hard it ended up being, how little sleep they got, how demoralizing the critiques could be. It was the most difficult, stressful time of their lives, and they fought more than ever.

But at the end of every day, no matter how frustrated they were or how many times they'd yelled at each other, they'd sit down, hold hands, and just be together. Exist together.

The van turns toward their building and Changyoon swivels in his seat, looking back at Hyojin. He clears his throat. "It's too bad you guys can't come to lunch with the rest of us," he says, just a little too loudly to be conversational.

Hyojin narrows his eyes in silent inquiry; Changyoon lifts an eyebrow in response.

Oh.

Heat begins to pool in Hyojin's belly. It should probably bother him at least a little that the other members have been plotting to give him and Seungjun alone time knowing what they're likely to do with it, but it's been so long since the two of them had any real privacy he doesn't seem to care.

Seungjun lifts his head off Hyojin's shoulder. "We're going to lunch?"

Changyoon levels an incredulous look at Seungjun, then turns back to Hyojin. "We should be back by 4:30," he says, his eyes getting wider with each word. "We'll bring some food home for you guys."

"Wait, why can't we go, too?" Seungjun asks.

Changyoon closes his eyes and takes a measured breath.

"Because you have a headache," Hyojin says, squeezing Seungjun's hand and praying he catches on before Changyoon's head explodes. "And I don't want you to have to stay at the dorm alone."

Seungjun blinks at Hyojin owlishly, his eyes big and dark. He's so cute Hyojin can't be annoyed that he's not catching on.

Hyojin must spend too long staring fondly at Seungjun because Changyoon coughs loudly, drawing both their attention.

"The air's so dry today," Changyoon says.

Hyojin rolls his eyes at Changyoon. Changyoon makes a face back.

"Oh my god," Jaeyoung mutters in English from his seat next to Changyoon, dropping his head back against his headrest dramatically.

"It's probably best if we get you into bed," Hyojin tells Seungjun, completely ignoring Jaeyoung. His tone is deliberate as he searches Seungjun's gaze, lets his own flicker to Seungjun's mouth. Then, in case it's still not obvious, he brushes his thumb up and down the length of Seungjun's index finger, hoping the gesture's evocative enough to get the point across.

Seungjun's eyes widen just a fraction, the tips of his ears going red. "Oh yeah, yes," he fumbles, looking at Changyoon and nodding exaggeratedly. "We really should– I! I really should. Go to bed. As soon as we get home."

Changyoon rubs his temple with the tips of his fingers. "Good idea," he says flatly as the van pulls to a stop at the back entrance of their building. "You guys go rest," he continues, leaning to pull open the sliding door. "I'll text Hyojin when we're headed back."

The look Changyoon gives Hyojin then says what he can't: the members are giving them the generous gift of ninety minutes in the dorm alone. They just better make sure they have their pants back on by the time everyone else gets home.

"Have a good lunch," Hyojin says as he nudges Seungjun toward the door. "Don't worry about hurrying back if you decide to get ice cream or something."

"Ice cream?" MK pipes up from the first row of seats. "Are we getting ice cream?"

"We're getting ice cream?" Yuto echoes from beside MK, pulling out one of his headphones and glancing back at Changyoon.

Changyoon's exasperation is only barely hidden behind his smile. "Don't press your luck," he mouths as Hyojin follows Seungjun out of the van. Hyojin's smile in return is genuine, if a little wicked.

Hyojin can feel nervous energy building between him and Seungjun as they silently take the elevator up to the apartment together. It really has been a long time since they had an opportunity to spend this kind of time alone together, naked, in a bed. And it's not that he isn't grateful for what they can manage, but the thought of being able to take their time, to let themselves be a little noisy, to actually have sex instead of just messing around, is making Hyojin's heart pound and his blood run hot.

Once they're safely behind their closed door, shoes and jackets off and bags set aside, it hits Hyojin all at once, what this means. Maybe it's because he has no idea when they'll get a chance like this again or because things have been so tense between them for the last few days, but it feels like this moment is important, like he has to make the very best of it.

Seungjun's standing silently next to the couch, shifting from foot to foot like he doesn't know what to do with himself either. It's rare for Seungjun to be this quiet, to seem so anxious when it's just the two of them; the weight of the moment must be on his mind, too.

The last thing Hyojin wants to do is rush anything now that they've finally made up. But he can't help thinking they're wasting precious time.

Taking a breath in an effort to calm his racing heart, he crosses to stand in front of Seungjun, lifting his hand to brush his fingertips through the freshly-dyed hair at Seungjun's temple. "I can't believe you managed to do this without me knowing."

Seungjun's eyelashes flutter. "Changyoon helped," he confesses.

Hyojin thinks back to the green room earlier, how none of the members said more than two words to him, how no one seemed to notice his very obvious distress; they were probably all in on this from the beginning.

"I should have known," he says, tangling his fingers in the fine hairs at Seungjun's nape. "His acting's getting way too good."

Seungjun huffs a laugh. "Meanwhile mine is still terrible," he says. "I was so worried you'd figure out something was up this morning before we got to SBS."

"I was pretty distracted this morning," Hyojin says. "I had this whole plan to find you after we had our makeup done, to give you the bracelet. But then you disappeared."

"It's just like us to have basically the same idea at the same time isn't it?" Seungjun remarks with quirk of a smile.

"Mmm," Hyojin hums in agreement, tugging at Seungjun's hair. "Do you think we're thinking the same thing right now, too?"

Seungjun licks his lower lip. "I hope so."

"Okay, good. Good," Hyojin says, his throat starting to feel a little thick. "I'm thinking about sex, by the way. Just to make sure we're totally on the same page," he adds, his fingers slipping down to cup the back of Seungjun's neck. "But we don't have to if you don't want to. We can always just, you know. Do whatever."

"No, I definitely want to have sex," Seungjun says in a rush, his face flushing progressively darker.

"Okay," Hyojin replies.

"Okay," Seungjun echoes, taking a breath. "So I'm, uh. I'm going to go shower," he says. "And then I'll meet you in your room?"

Hyojin feels like his heart is going to beat its way out of his chest. "Yeah," he says, his voice throaty.

Seungjun nods. He's breathing so hard Hyojin can feel the warm gusts of it against his face. There's no warning before he suddenly leans in, pressing their mouths together just once, damp and lingering. "I'll be right back," he whispers, their lips brushing as he speaks.

Hyojin squeezes the back of Seungjun's neck before letting his hand slide away. "Be quick."

"I will," Seungjun says, holding Hyojin's eyes for another few seconds before he slips quickly down the hall to the bathroom.

Hyojin's legs are shaking as he walks to his room. It's a little strange to be so anxious about something he's done literally dozens of times, but the fluttery feeling in his stomach isn't bad. It reminds him of the way it used to be at the beginning, back when they really should have ended things for the sake of their futures as idols.

Or at least stopped fucking each other.

They never meant for the other members to find out about their relationship. When they both passed their auditions at the same company they had a long discussion about their future as a couple, one that spanned days and involved more than one screaming argument. At the end of it, after a lot of tears, they decided they wouldn't break up, but they had to be careful. It had to stay a secret.

But they were stupid kids, under a lot of stress and still very much in the throes of puberty. They fucked up almost immediately.

Fortunately for them the person who found out first was Jaeyoung, otherwise known as the world's least judgmental person. It was on his advice they come clean to the rest of the members before debut, once the lineup was finalized.

Sometimes Hyojin can't believe how lucky they are, to get accepted into an agency together, to make it to debut, to achieve all the success they have, especially recently. And to not have to sacrifice their relationship to make it happen.

The butterflies in his stomach feel more like anticipation now as he sits on his bed remembering the past. He knows it hasn't been very long, but he's already impatient for Seungjun to be done with his shower.

Glancing down at his phone he notices a text message from Changyoon, simple and innocuous:

feel free to burn some incense if you think it will help seungjun's headache ✌🏼

Hyojin snorts a laugh; Changyoon certainly seems to be enjoying his position as their afternoon quickie liaison.

"What're you laughing about?"

Hyojin lifts his head to see Seungjun standing at the end of his bed wearing nothing but Hyojin's bracelet, clutching a towel in his hand. Hyojin momentarily forgets how to speak as his eyes move up and down the lean, pale length of Seungjun's naked body, heat rising to his face and pooling between his legs.

"I, um," he stammers, his gaze lingering on Seungjun's half hard cock. "Changyoon says to make sure it doesn't smell like sex in here when they get back," he says, forcing himself to focus on Seungjun's face.

Seungjun rolls his eyes. "Like he doesn't take care of his own business in this room when he says he's 'taking a nap,'" he says with a smirk, walking around to the side of the bed. He takes the towel in both hands and drapes it across the mattress, right in front of Hyojin's crossed legs.

Hyojin's dick twitches in his pants.

"Why didn't you take your clothes off?" Seungjun asks.

"Oh," Hyojin replies, prying his eyes away from the towel. "I didn't think about it."

Seungjun smiles, pressing his teeth into his bottom lip. "Well I guess you don't technically need to be all the way undressed," he says. "But I kind of want you to be."

Hyojin swallows. "Gonna help me then?"

Seungjun's grin turns seductive. "Get up and we'll see how fast we can get you naked."

The answer is very, very fast. Hyojin thinks at first there might be some teasing or playing around, but as soon as he's standing Seungjun drops to his knees, dragging Hyojin's track pants and underwear down without a second of hesitation. Hyojin's so overwhelmed he practically falls over, has to reach down to support himself on Seungjun's shoulder before he even thinks about stepping out of the tangle of clothing around his ankles.

"Are you in a hurry?" Hyojin asks when Seungjun stands up again.

"Are you not?" Seungjun replies, gripping the hem of Hyojin's hoodie.

It's a loaded question. Because Hyojin would love to take his time, to spend long minutes putting his mouth all over Seungjun's body and opening Seungjun up with his tongue, to take him apart piece by piece. But at the same time it's been months since the last time they fucked, and Hyojin can't deny how badly he wants to just do it.

"Yes and no," Hyojin says, raising his arms above his head as an invitation for Seungjun to pull his hoodie off.

Seungjun manages to grab his t-shirt at the same time, tugging both it and Hyojin's hoodie off and leaving Hyojin entirely naked. "What do you mean?"

"I like the idea of taking my time with you," he says, reaching out to cup his hand around Seungjun's neck, thumb against his throat and his fingers hooked over the junction of his shoulder. "It's been a really long time since I've gotten to eat you out."

Seungjun's eyes roll closed, a low whimper escaping his lips. "Fuck, Hyojin."

Hyojin's thumb slides into the hollow between Seungjun's collarbones. "But also I just really want to be in you," he whispers, his voice low and rough. He can feel Seungjun swallow beneath his touch.

"Can't we do both?" Seungjun asks, swaying closer.

Hyojin glances at the clock on his bedside table; they still have a little more than an hour before the others are supposed to be home. "Yes," Hyojin says, tracing his fingertips down Seungjun's chest to tease his nipple.

Seungjun's breathing stutters, his nipple hardening as Hyojin circles a finger around it. "Fuck, okay," he says, body arching forward.

The slick tip of Seungjun's dick bumps against Hyojin's abdomen and they both gasp. Hyojin doesn't think before he wraps his hand around the back of Seungjun's neck and reels him in, their mouths meeting wetly. Seungjun's arms slide around Hyojin's back, pulling him closer until their chests and bellies are flush, Seungjun's erection trapped between them, Hyojin's hardening cock angled down against Seungjun's pelvis.

The time for patience and coordination is over. They kiss like they need it to survive, messy and bruising and desperate, hands roaming over the planes of each other's naked skin. Hyojin caresses the small of Seungjun's back, squeezing him close before he dips lower to palm Seungjun's butt, pulling his cheeks apart.

Seungjun breaks the kiss as his back arches, his face turned upward. "Please," he begs, his fingernails biting lightly into the skin of Hyojin's shoulders.

Hyojin urges Seungjun into his bed, climbs between his legs. He hooks his hands in the bends of Seungjun's knees and pushes his thighs down against his stomach, his ass lifting off the mattress enough that Hyojin can bend down and mouth at Seungjun's balls, the base of his dick.

"Oh fuck, oh god, yes, yes," Seungjun chants, taking hold of his own legs so Hyojin can move lower.

Hyojin closes his eyes as he inhales Seungjun's scent, tasting clean skin as he drags his lips over Seungjun's perineum, stopping when he finds the muscled ring of Seungjun's hole. He laps at the pucker, relishing the texture of it against the flat of his tongue, the way it spasms under his attention. He stops to trace the rim slowly once, twice, then pushes the tip of his tongue inside. He shoves his face closer, his nose crushed into Seungjun's taint as he alternates between working his tongue in as deep as he can and easing back to kiss Seungjun there, wet and open-mouthed.

Above him Seungjun is falling apart, his body trembling and voice breaking as he moans without restraint. It's been a long time since Hyojin's been able to hear Seungjun at full volume; he forgot how good it sounds, how much it turns him on, and he realizes belatedly that he's been grinding his dick against the comforter, unconsciously seeking friction. He has to focus to stop himself, because he's one hundred percent sure he could come from just this, rubbing himself off on the bed as he licks Seungjun out.

Hyojin could happily stay between Seungjun's legs for hours if they had the time or the patience. But they're literally on the clock here, and the way Seungjun's grinding into Hyojin's face makes it pretty obvious he's impatient for more.

Hyojin's lips are tingling when surfaces from between Seungjun's thighs, the lower half of his face wet with his own saliva. He eases back to sit on his knees and Seungjun lets his shaky legs drop to the bed, splayed wide around where Hyojin's kneeling like an offering.

Hyojin reaches out to touch the side of Seungjun's knee, slides his palm up Seungjun's inner thigh, the muscle jumping beneath his touch. "You sound so good when I'm doing that," he says, able to feel it when Seungjun shivers.

"I didn't realize how much I missed having your tongue in me," Seungjun replies, still breathless.

"Just my tongue?" Hyojin teases, brushing his thumb over the swell of Seungjun's scrotum just to watch the skin tighten.

Seungjun inhales sharply through his teeth. "If you're trying to get me to beg for your cock, I'll totally do it."

Hyojin reaches down with his other hand, wrapping his fingers around the base of his own dick and squeezing, just to take the edge off. "Do you need me to finger you?"

"Probably just a little," Seungjun says. "Or I can do it," he adds, arching his back and reaching for the bedside table drawer.

Hyojin trails his thumb down into the cleft of Seungjun's ass, presses the tip up against Seungjun's spit-damp hole. He can feel Seungjun's heartbeat there. "Can you reach it?"

Seungjun stretches, twisting a little at the waist. His asshole clenches against Hyojin's touch.

"Got it," he says, laying flat again, tube in hand. "Do you want to do it?"

Instead of answering, Hyojin lets go of his dick so he can take the lube from Seungjun, popping it open with his thumb. "When was the last time you did this?" Hyojin asks, squeezing some of the gel onto his fingertips.

"Besides just now in the shower?" Seungjun says. "It was when you did it last. Whenever that was."

"November," Hyojin says, rubbing his slick fingertips over Seungjun's hole. "Around MK's birthday."

Seungjun inhales sharply as Hyojin slips a finger into him, pressing it deep. "Oh right," he says, his voice thin. "Jaeyoung took him out for dinner."

"God, I wanted to fuck you that night," Hyojin says, working his finger out, sliding it slowly back in.

"I remember," Seungjun says, moaning lightly as his hips arch. "I almost let you."

Hyojin licks his lips, watches as his finger disappears into Seungjun's body, swallowed up by tight heat. "I can't remember the last time we had sex," he says as he pulls back and out, lining up a second finger before easing inside again.

"It was, ah– It was my birthday," Seungjun answers, his knees bending, thighs falling wider apart. "Last year. I fucked you in the shower."

Hyojin remembers as soon as Seungjun mentions it: the members waking Seungjun up at midnight for his birthday Vlive, Hyojin suggesting the shower after it was over, slipping into the bathroom to join him. He can visualize it now perfectly, his forearms braced against the tile, the sound of their wet skin slapping, Seungjun's hands clutching his hips, cock driving into him from behind.

Hyojin's dick throbs between his legs. "I can't believe it's been over a year," he says, twisting his fingers into Seungjun, spreading them apart a little when he pulls back.

"We can't go anywhere, everyone's always around," Seungjun complains breathily. "Sometimes, sometimes I think about just like, locking ourselves in one of the vocal practice rooms. Or changing, changing the door code. For like an hour."

Hyojin laughs. "Maybe we can just start asking for this," he says, turning his hand palm up and sliding his fingertips back until they glide over the small, firm bulge of Seungjun's prostate, pressing down against it with gentle pressure. "Like once a month or something," he adds absently as he watches Seungjun's expression change, face tensing and eyes closing, mouth dropping open.

Hyojin rubs over the same spot again, harder this time, and Seungjun cries out, his whole body going tight, cock jerking between his legs. "Fuck, you feel good," Hyojin murmurs, pushing his fingers all the way in again, Seungjun's taut muscles stretching around the width of them, squeezing down.

"You should put your dick in me now," Seungjun replies, voice rough and eyes dark. "Like right now."

Hyojin swallows, keeps his gaze fixed on Seungjun's face as he pulls his fingers free, reaching blindly for the discarded lube. "Do you want me to wear a condom?" he asks, his hand finally bumping the tube.

Seungjun shakes his head, pulls his knees up toward his chest. "Just want you," he says, the heated, desperate tone of his voice making Hyojin shiver.

"Okay," Hyojin replies, looking down as he makes quick work of spreading lube over his dick, recapping the tube and wiping the excess from his hand on the towel underneath them. He moves in closer on his knees, braces his left hand on Seungjun's leg and uses his right to angle his cock down, touching the tip against Seungjun's hole. He rubs the blunt head over Seungjun's loosened rim a couple of times before he pushes forward, slipping shallowly inside with a ragged sigh.

Seungjun's body opens up to him so beautifully as he presses steadily inside, stretching to accept the girth of him without resistance. Hyojin doesn't have to stop until he's entirely buried, then leans forward over Seungjun to grind a centimeter deeper. Seungjun whimpers and tilts his pelvis, reaches up to grip Hyojin's shoulders.

"You're so hot inside," Hyojin says, cupping the back of Seungjun's neck and leaning down to bump their noses together.

Seungjun lifts his head off Hyojin's pillow to kiss Hyojin once, soft and wet. "Feels good," he says, low and breathless. "I love how I feel when you're all the way in me. I love how deep you get, how good you fill me up."

Hyojin groans. "You're squeezing me so tight," he says, pressing his mouth to the side of Seungjun's throat, rocking his hips to loosen Seungjun up on his cock. He can feel Seungjun's pulse beneath his lips as he leaves butterfly kisses over the skin, can feel the way Seungjun's voice vibrates as he moans.

"I missed you," Seungjun says, scrubbing his fingers through Hyojin's hair then trailing his palms down Hyojin's back, his body arching upward as Hyojin starts to thrust. "Fuck, I missed you, missed this. Missed how good you make me feel."

"Me too," Hyojin replies, bracing his hands on the mattress next to Seungjun's shoulders, bucking into Seungjun with more force, their skin starting to slap together. Seungjun looks incredible under him, his chest and throat flushed, face twisted gorgeously in pleasure. "I didn't, I didn't know how much until now."

"Let's never wait this long again," Seungjun says, his hands gripping Hyojin's hips, palming his ass, pulling him in harder every time he drives himself forward. "Fuck, I want to feel you, I want to feel it for at least a week," he groans.

Hyojin doesn't have to be told twice; he pulls out farther, pushes back in more forcefully, grunting as he pounds into Seungjun, using all his strength, his thighs burning with the effort. Seungjun cries out with every thrust, his skin flushing darker, damp lashes fluttering as he fights to keep his eyes open.

It feels so good Hyojin doesn't want to ever stop. He wants to spend the rest of his life fucking Seungjun, listening to him moan, watching pleasure wash over his face.

Hyojin can't keep up the bruising pace for long, his back and legs protesting. He has to slow down, to catch his breath, and he pushes back to his knees, the angle of his cock inside Seungjun shifting.

Seungjun's wide, wet eyes open and he stares up at Hyojin, his body rocking with Hyojin's longer, softer thrusts. He keeps his gaze locked on Hyojin's as he curves his back, angling his pelvis down just a fraction more.

"Ah, Hyojin," he whimpers, his fingers flexing at his sides, catching Hyojin's duvet in loose fists. "Don't, don't stop," he pleads, gasping softly, head rolling back and eyes falling closed. "Just like that, don't stop, keep, keep going, just like that."

It's amazing how fast it happens after that. Seungjun turns his head, the long line of his neck stretched and corded, the muscles in his abdomen going tight, standing out under his smooth, pale skin. Then he takes one sharp breath, pushes his head down against Hyojin's pillow, and comes, his cock jerking untouched between his thighs, ass clenching down rhythmically around Hyojin inside him. Each pulse of it sends a string of come up the length of Seungjun's torso, splattering his skin from his navel to the underside of his chin, the last bit dribbling to leave a sticky pool on his belly.

Seungjun's so tight around Hyojin's cock now he can barely move, but he doesn't stop, wanting to draw Seungjun's orgasm out as long as possible, chasing after his own. And he's close now, he's so, so close.

The second Seungjun's muscles begin to relax Hyojin leans forward, planting his hands on the mattress and fucking into Seungjun desperately, his thrusts short and hard and frantic. Seungjun turns his head and meets Hyojin's eyes, wraps his hands around Hyojin's upper arms.

"Come for me," he says breathlessly, his voice husky. "Come on, baby, you're right there," he goes on, squeezing down around Hyojin's rutting cock on purpose this time. "I want it in me, I want your come in me, Hyojin, please. Fill me up with your come."

Hyojin comes so hard his vision whites out and his ears ring, his muscles tensing so tightly they ache. It feels like it goes on forever, like his body is trying to make up for lost time, and he's so wrung out by the time it finally ends he can't stop himself from sobbing. He's trembling when he lowers himself carefully to his elbows to catch his breath, resting his forehead on the pillow next to Seungjun's head.

Seungjun wraps his arms around Hyojin's back, holding him close. "You're so good," he whispers against Hyojin's ear. "Sex with you is so good."

Hyojin sighs, turns his head to nuzzle at Seungjun's temple. "It's still so amazing to me that you can do that."

"Do what?" Seungjun asks, running the flats of his palms softly all over Hyojin's skin.

"Come without touching yourself," Hyojin replies, lifting his head enough that he can meet Seungjun's eyes.

"You did that to me," Seungjun says, biting his lip against a small smile. "You always do it to me. I've never been able to do it on my own."

Hyojin blinks in surprise. "Wait, really?"

Seungjun nods. "I've tried a few times, but it never works when I'm not with you. Everything feels better when I do it with you."

Hyojin's heart clenches in his chest. He watches Seungjun's face as he shifts his hips, both of them exhaling shakily as his soft cock slips free of Seungjun's ass. "I love you," he murmurs. "I know I've been really bad at showing it lately, but I love you so much."

Seungjun blinks, his eyes looking a little glassy. "I know," he says. "Things haven't been easy lately, but I always know."

Hyojin takes a breath. The day didn't go at all the way he planned, not that he's exactly upset about it, especially the turn of events that ended with them in bed together. But he still hasn't said what he'd meant to earlier, and even though he's terrified it'll ruin the mood, Seungjun deserves to hear it.

"I'm sorry," he says, his throat already starting to feel thick.

Seungjun tangles his hand in the back of Hyojin's hair. "Sorry for what?"

"For being such an asshole lately," Hyojin says. "For being a dick about your hair."

Seungjun shakes his head. "I understand why you were upset."

"You don't–"

"I do," Seungjun interrupts. "I made it seem like he's more important to me than you are. I didn't even think how it would look to you to keep having my hair like that."

"I was jealous, Seungjun," Hyojin blurts, because he can't stand to hear Seungjun trying to take the blame for Hyojin's mistakes. "I tried really hard not to be. I tried to think about it from the other way around, like if it was me seeing someone else, because I know it wouldn't mean I loved you any less. I know you like him a lot, I can tell you do. And it only makes sense, because he's great. He's talented and handsome and nice, he's so nice."

Hyojin has to stop to breathe. Because the thing he was about to say is something he didn't even realize he wanted to admit until he almost said it.

"He's so much nicer to you than I am."

Seungjun's mouth drops open, his expression suddenly stricken. "He's... That's not true," he fumbles.

"It is true," Hyojin insists, lifting himself off Seungjun and sitting on the bed between Seungjun's legs. "Ever since the day we met I've made everything between us a competition. Even this. You found someone else to date before I did, someone who really likes you, enough to not be scared off by our situation. And on top of all that he's just so much better than me. At everything."

Seungjun braces his hands on the bed and pushes himself sitting, too. "He isn't. But even if he was, it doesn't matter," he says, reaching out to grab one of Hyojin's hands, threading their fingers together. "I barely know Hoetaek. And I like him, I honestly really do, but we've been friends since I was twelve years old. No one will ever know me better than you. No one will ever be closer to me. You're the biggest thing in my life, Hyojin. I don't even know what my life is without you."

Hyojin looks down at their hands, their entwined fingers, the purple, beaded bracelet circling Seungjun's wrist. "I'm afraid," he admits quietly, holding Seungjun's hand even more tightly. "Some day you're going to realize staying with me isn't worth the trouble."

"It's absolutely worth the trouble," Seungjun says with a breathy laugh, and Hyojin looks up to see a little smirk on Seungjun's face. "We've been best friends for fourteen years. I know you. I love you. I want you. I've literally always wanted you."

His smile softens, wetness shimmering in his eyes. "I've literally always loved you," he whispers.

Hyojin reaches out to hold him before he can think of anything else, arms going around Seungjun's neck and dragging him so close Seungjun has to climb awkwardly into his lap to hold him back. "I just want you to be happy," Hyojin says, burying his face against Seungjun's neck.

"I am happy," Seungjun says, petting the back of Hyojin's head. "I'm really, really happy."

Hyojin takes a deep breath, exhales heavily as he collapses further into Seungjun's arms. "If you want to keep seeing Hoetaek, I think you should," he says carefully. "I want you to."

Seungjun slides his fingers into Hyojin's hair, wraps his hand around the strands in a loose fist. "We haven't talked about it," he replies, turning to press his lips against Hyojin's forehead. "I don't know what things are going to be like once he finishes basic training." He kisses Hyojin's forehead again, warm and damp and lingering. "Also it sort of sounded like maybe you have a crush on him too," he adds, tugging softly at Hyojin's hair. "Maybe our next date can be the three of us."

Seungjun is definitely joking. Probably. Maybe.

"Do you think he'd like that?"

"Why wouldn't he?" Seungjun replies, easing back to meet Hyojin's eyes. "You're amazing."

Hyojin doesn't know what he did to get so lucky, to find someone like Seungjun who understands him so perfectly, who, as cliché as it sounds, completes him. Who loves him so deeply, so unconditionally, no matter what.

Hyojin lifts a hand to cup Seungjun's jaw. "You're the only one who thinks that," he says, stroking his thumb over Seungjun's cheek. "But it's okay; yours is the only opinion that matters."

Seungjun's laugh is muffled by Hyojin's kiss, warm and solid. They open their mouths to each other easily, tongues searching and tasting and twining, arms wrapped tightly around each other's shoulders.

Hyojin doesn't know how long they've been kissing when his phone vibrates on the bedside table but it takes more than a little effort to make himself pull away, to not dive back in immediately when he sees Seungjun's pink, bee-stung lips and sweet, flushed face. He presses one more kiss against Seungjun's jaw as he reaches for his phone, unsurprised to see a text from Changyoon.

time to wake up sleeping beauty food's on the way 🍗🍚🥢🛁👖🔛

"They're on their way back," Hyojin says, tipping his head automatically when Seungjun leans in to kiss his neck.

Seungjun whines, brushing his tongue over Hyojin's skin, sucking at it softly. "Fuck," he mutters, dropping his forehead to Hyojin's shoulder dramatically.

"They're bringing chicken," Hyojin adds, huffing a laugh when Seungjun immediately sits up.

"Really?"

Hyojin puts on an affronted look. "Are you seriously choosing chicken over me?"

Seungjun grins sheepishly. "Can't I have both?"

Hyojin loves him more than anything else. He's never been good at admitting it, but he'd give Seungjun the world if he could.

"Neither of us is getting any chicken if we don't hurry and get things cleaned up," he says, pinching Seungjun's ass playfully.

"Good point," Seungjun replies, climbing reluctantly out of Hyojin's lap. "Think we have time for a quick shower?"

Hyojin takes a good, long look at Seungjun standing by the side of the bed, his eyes bright, skin flushed and glowing. He's the most beautiful person Hyojin's ever seen.

"Go warm up the water," he says. "I'll be there in a minute."

Seungjun bites his lip against a smile, then turns to slip out of the room. Once he's gone, Hyojin picks up his phone, types a quick reply to Changyoon before he follows Seungjun to the bathroom.

don't forget to take the kids for ice cream 😉
