Work Text:
Seven-fifty-seven , her phone read.
Luxanna Crownguard nibbled on her lower lip, huffed in a deep, reassuring breath, closed her eyes, and nodded. She reached up to fluff out her gold hair, maneuvering the bob reached down to just past her shoulders in the best possible way to highlight her neck, then brushed at her face to make sure the borderline-nonexistent makeup she had on looked okay. She adjusted her neat tee around her slender torso and pulled her skirt around her waist all to make sure not a single thing was out of place, then looked herself over for good measure.
Nodding with approval, she looked beside her. Bacon freshly popped down was sizzling with pleasant aromas, toast was ready to be pushed down, and she had eggs cracking. She'd already decided on poached eggs after that one time she had said how much she liked them, but she was perfectly ready to change to anything else if needed. She had pancake mix, a waffle iron, the - well, she had a lot of stuff, and she supposed that there might have been too much on the counter, but it was better safe than sorry -
"Oh, the smoothies!" She hissed, then, in a flustered panic, shot forward, yanked the fridge open, and pulled the chilled beverages out. She set them on the countertop on paper towels to avoid the mess and pushed a pair of mugs into place beside them, just in case her brother decided not to be a barbarian and drink out of the blender cup.
Sighing, Lux looked around, took in a deep, reassuring breath, then nibbled on her lower lip. Everything was as neat and tidy as she could manage, meticulously set out and organized. She ran through her mental checklist to make sure she'd done everything she'd set out to do, and, barring the mishap with the smoothie, everything was going swimmingly. Bacon was sizzling, eggs were ready to be poached, food was seasoned, and everything was set up to just the right degree of 'oh wow you just happened to walk in while I'm cooking haha' even though it was the furthest thing from the truth.
"You're doing great, Lux!" She whispered to herself, hands on her hips. Her meticulous planning didn't leave her feeling any less nervous, though, and her insides were already twisting in a mixture of angst and anticipation. It might have been a weekly ritual at that point, but the familiarity of it didn't take away that anxious edge.
She took in another deep -
The door opened right then and there without any indication of footsteps, and Lux squeaked. Her eyes shot down to her phone, which read a perfect eight-AM. Flinching, she flung her arm out to the toaster, shoved bread in, then turned around to poke at bacon and make sure it didn't burn beyond repair before twirling around in a flash of skirts and -
Her breath instantly caught in her throat, and her bright, earnest smile stiffened on her face. Her big, bulky brother was passing through the door, but her eyes totally glossed over him as if he were a particularly annoying coat hook and moved to the guest stepping in right behind him, a laugh on her lips as she replied to whatever weird comment he made as they entered. Everything inside of Lux went warm and fuzzy, and her teeth dug hard into her lower lip as bright blue eyes almost guiltily scanned across the only non-Crownguard in the home.
Leona was a tall, broad-shouldered woman - and she was a woman, insofar as Lux was just a silly nineteen-year-old girl. She only had two years on her, but she wore them as if she was the most mature person in any of the rooms she walked into. She was as tall as Garen, and towered more than a head over the smaller Lux. Every inch of her was cut and chiseled from years of working out, athletic capability, and physical prowess - boxing and sparring and sports lending to a wonderfully taut, firm body that was all lean-packed muscle and firm, sun-warmed skin.
She was dressed in her normal Sunday workout clothes, which was about as substantial as Lux's yoga gear - almost nothing. A sports bra stretched across her ample C-cup chest, and tight, stretchy pants wrapped up her legs. The thick, university-branded waistband was both too low on her hips and now low enough, showing off their width and the deliciously chiseled V of her pelvis at the same time. It left the lean expanse of her stomach bare, and the young blonde almost squeaked as she stared at Leona’s gorgeous eight-pack of abs which, even then, gently beaded with sweat.
Every inch of her screamed ‘strong’. Her arms were well-muscled, even if not egregiously so, and her legs were firm and taut. Her stomach was like a washboard, and more than once Lux had wondered how it would feel to touch it. Her waistline wasn’t exactly curvy like an hourglass, but rather thick in that well-muscled and well-built way: a wide waist to match wide hips, and it was all athletic strength. She seemed sculpted. She was cut, and it showed in all the best sorts of ways. The fact that Leona was absolutely gorgeous only made it all the more appetizing: the face of a model, with high cheekbones, a strong, long jawline; all hard angles and tight curves tied together by a dainty nose, plump lips, and a flowing mane of auburn hair that practically glowed.
She was golden, gorgeous, practically glowing in her post-workout appearance, and Lux was hopelessly crushing on her.
“Oh, Luxanna,” Garen said, his tone slow, almost rolling. “Good morning.”
Leona turned toward her with a smile on her lips, and Lux’s heart skipped a beat. “H-hey, guys! You’re back, uhm, early! I didn’t expect you!”
The fact that she was in a kitchen piled to high-heaven with stuff for breakfast - their breakfast - made Garen frown with doubt, and he squinted as if trying to understand the why of the situation. Lux only kept her nervous, anxious smile, staring as subtly as she could manage at Leona and similarly not ogling her abs, hoping that her brother would - once again - fail to understand her motives or intentions.
“Oh,” he said, very much not understanding. “Okay.”
Leona smiled at her, and Garen was totally forgotten by Lux. Her world narrowed in for one second, and all she saw were warm eyes the colour of gold and an earnest smile as bright as any of Lux’s own. “Good morning, Lux. How are you?”
“You’re great!” She said quickly, then squeaked as her eyes shot open. “A-ah, that is, uhm, I’m doing great, how are… you?”
Leona laughed, and was the furthest thing from a sound of mockery that was physically possible. It was earnest and genuine, like a girl sharing a moment with a good friend. “I’m doing well, thank you! And, I’m glad to hear that you’re still doing okay.” She inclined her head, still smiling. “Always a treat to see you on Sunday mornings, Lux.”
Lux wanted to squeak. “Ah - really? I mean, uhm, it’s totally nice to see you! S-see you, too, I mean. Kinda like a routine, huh?”
“Something like that,” Leona giggled - or, at least, Lux wanted to think it was a giggle because holy smokes Leona’s laugh sounded like heaven.
Garen looked between them. “I’m just surprised that Luxanna is up so early. Normally, she sleeps in until ten at the earliest.”
Lux immediately began to sputter. Red-faced, she leaned into the counter and pressed her hands against it. “H-hey! That’s not true!”
“Yes, it is?” He stated bluntly, not at all noticing her panic nor the way she glanced at Leona to make sure that his dumb -and sadly, true - words weren’t leaving any bad impressions. “I often wake you up -”
As Lux choked on her own breath in an attempt to formulate an indignant and well-thought-out retort that would make a good impression for Leona, the tall woman herself interjected. “To be fair, Garen, Lux has been up every Sunday… around the time we come back from our run, in fact.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” Leona inclined her head. “You know, she also makes us the smoothies and breakfast…?”
“Oh, yes, that’s right,” Garen said slowly, nodding as if it only then occurred to him that he was, in fact, being fed on Sundays, but Lux only heard the words ‘making us breakfast’ and felt her temperature rise.
“I-I mean,” she started, shuffling and brushing at her hair, “I’m just, uhm, making myself breakfast, a-and it would be rude not to treat you guys as well…? I’m… overcooking for myself?”
Her brother scratched his dark head of hair, not at all hearing the uncertainty in her voice. “How do you overcook that much?”
“I’m really very grateful for it!” Leona told her, and Lux found it very easy to ignore her blockhead of a brother in favour of his far more pretty friend. “It’s hard not to get hungry after a hard workout, and your cooking is much better than my own.”
“O-oh,” Lux stammered, her face heating up. Was it as red as it felt? She was sure it was, but telling herself don’t blush, Lux! didn’t seem to have the intended effect. “I mean, I’m positive your cooking is really good, too!”
“Oh, no, it’s terrible,” Leona said matter-of-factly, chuckling softly between words. “Trust me on that. I’m hopeless.”
Lux bit her lip and tried not to fawn too badly over her words. Ohmygosh she’s so down to earth it’s adorable -
“I don’t think Lux is any better,” Garen commented wryly, gesturing with his broad hand. “She’s burning the bacon.”
Lux gasped indignantly. “I’m -” she stopped, paused, then twisted around in the realization that, yes, she was burning the bacon. “Oh, no!”
She hurriedly began to poke at it and flip it over, cooing to herself as if that would somehow minimize the damage and inwardly cursing her own stupidity for doing something so dumb. It certainly wasn’t unsalvageable, not by any means, but one side was distinctly worse off than the other and it was all because Lux had been trying and failing to hold a proper conversation with Leona.
“Are these smoothies for us?” Her brother asked, and Lux, still pouting into her pan, made a little noise of defeat.
“Yeah…”
“If it helps,” Leona quipped from nearby, “I like my bacon on the crispier side.”
Too close, Lux’s mind supplied, and she very haltingly put her fork down and turned. Leona was right there behind her, maybe just a meter and a half away, leaning casually against the counter and moving her drink from container to mug. She was close, and even if it was a friendly, totally normal space, it left Lux flushing. Her blue eyes instinctively snapped down to Leona’s abs, then haltingly flicked back up.
“O-oh. W-well, uh, then, I guess you can have it all,” she replied, trying to keep her voice level, “and not my very-not-nice big brother.”
Leona offered a smile. “I am more than amenable to that arrangement.”
Garen, instead, frowned. “That doesn’t seem fair? I’m the one that saved it.”
You’re the one embarrassing me, she tried to tell him mentally, squinting at him in a way that had him squinting in turn. “Leona’s the only one being nice about it.”
“That doesn’t make any sense,” he told her.
“It does,” she insisted petulantly.
“I - whatever.” He shook his head, perplexed. “Leona, would you like to use the guest shower before breakfast?”
“That would be very nice, thank you,” she said, “but I don’t exactly have anything to change into.”
“Oh, right.”
Lux bit her lip and turned away to hide her suddenly flushing face.
“But I will stay for breakfast, if that's alright with both of you,” Leona continued, and Lux swallowed thickly.
“A-absolutely, yeah, that’s what this is for!” Lux rushed to say, knowing from the weekly routine that Leona wouldn’t stay without being offered to do so. “I-I mean -”
“It’s extra?” Leona offered.
“Yeah.” Lux stopped, paused, then blushed. “U-uh -”
Leona chuckled softly into her mug. “Thank you for making breakfast for us, Lux. I very much appreciate it.” She sipped from her drink, and looked directly into her blue eyes from over the rim. “The smoothie, too. It’s just how I like it.”
“A-ah - yeah, I mean, you’d said before, so…”
“Thank you for remembering,” the taller woman said emphatically, nodding her head and sending her long, golden-red hair bouncing over her shoulders, and Lux’s mouth went horribly dry. Leona was over a head taller than her, and easily twice her width. Being in such close proximity left her flushing and warm, and her insides felt all gooey. “Always.”
“No problem,” she half-whispered, offering a shy, tender smile, and trying not to nibble too badly on her lower lip. “I always like it when you join us. My brother isn’t great company, and you’re -”
She wanted to say beautiful, or stunning company, or wonderful to be around, and instead could only squeak out a “nice.” A very lame, very simple nice, because her every attempt at ever coming close to flirting with Leona or even attempting to be forward ended up with her acting like she was way out of her depth.
“Thank you,” Leona said all the same, smiling brightly. “I think you’re very nice, too.”
Lux blushed. The simple word made her feel all gooey and warm inside, and she twisted and pretended to pay attention to her cooking and hide her blushing face. “T-thanks, Leo!”
“And I enjoy joining you two for breakfast,” Leona chuckled. “It’s always nice to end a good workout with some good food, I find.”
“Yeah,” she said thickly. She had to crane her neck up to look into Leona’s golden eyes, and that practically had the girl swooning. “I really like cooking for you, too. A-and, uh, I mean, y-you joining me.” She winced. “Us.”
Leona opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off when Garen called out from the next room over. “Oh, Leona! You left some of your stuff here when we had that, uh, that game out at that... Noxian college? It’s in a bag, here. I can pop it in and get it cleaned while you shower?”
Leona blinked, whatever words she’d intended to say lost on her tongue. “That sounds very good, thank you, Garen!”
She shook her head in the next moment, her auburn hair ruffling around broad, strong shoulders. “I should get going before he, ah, blows a gasket.”
Lux half-giggled. “Yeah, he’s liable to do that.”
The redhead offered another smile, and it made Lux’s stomach do flips. “See you soon?”
“Yep!” Lux said thickly. “Of course!”
Leona smiled, nodded, drank from her cup, and started to walk away. It wasn’t an inherently sexy gait with swinging hips or anything feminine like that, but a firm, strong power walk that highlighted her sheer musculature, and as her backside rippled with athletic motion, Lux wanted to just sigh.
She watched Leona retreat, then sighed aloud. She touched her face with a small hand, felt her warm cheeks, then flicked her phone back up to examine her reflection in her camera. She was as red as she felt, and a moment of panic shot her through as she realized that Leona had been staring at her flushed face. She'd been so close she couldn't not notice, right?
Oh, Lux, she thought, pouting. You're hopeless -
The smell of something burning assaulted her nose, and her eyes went wide. What the - ohmygodthetoastIforgotthetoast -
She would muse, some minutes later and while nursing her somewhat singed fingers, that she was utterly hopeless in front of tall, pretty, built women.
"She's just so hot!" Lux whined, her voice muffled. She was sprawled out on her bed, her stomach flush against the baby-blue sheets and her arms outstretched. Her phone was limp in her hand and held far away from her ear, and the only reason her voice was picked up at all was because she'd put it on speaker. "I just - I can't! I can't even hold a conversation without blushing!"
"Lux," Quinn said patiently over the line, talking easily over the squeaking of Valor in the background, "Why is your voice muffled? Are you - are you moping into your pillow again?"
"Yes," Lux moped, her blonde head of hair buried face-first into her big, comfy pillow. It hurt her neck and nose a tiny bit, but the pain was worth it as she soothed her embarrassed, tomato-red face.
"Can you not?"
"No."
"Monosyllabic," Quinn hummed. "Guess we're at that stage, huh?"
"Quiiiiiiiiiiiinn," She whined, "I don't know what to do! She's just, like..."
"Hot?" The girl asked unhelpfully.
"Yes."
"Attractive?"
"Yeah..."
"Out of your league?"
"Yep -"
"No," Quinn snorted. "It's stuff like that that leaves - that - which - wait, okay, that sounded awkward. It's making you embarrassed, whatever. You just gotta be bold, I guess?"
Lux let out a groan.
"Did you groan into your pillow?"
She groaned in the affirmative.
"Lux," Quinn scoffed. "Just, like... I dunno, join her for those runs or something? That'll get her to notice you!"
"She runs fifteen kilometers over two hours with my brother," Lux deadpanned. "I can't hope to manage that."
"You don't know if you don't -"
"I tried," she deadpanned into her pillow. "Once. I collapsed after the first, like, two. I was totally mortified for, like, two whole weeks after."
Quinn was silent for a long moment, whereas Valor was very much not. He squeaked frequently, and Quinn started to shush him after a few moments of consideration.
"Shush, Valor!"
"You can't seriously understand him," Lux pouted. "Also, hi Valor."
"I can," Quinn said petulantly. "And he says hi back."
"...Out of curiosity, what else is he-"
"He says: that's hella embarrassing."
Lux groaned into her pillow.
"Sorry? Sorry." Lux could hear Quinn trying not to laugh. "Uh - hey! Bright side, Leona's still coming by and eating breakfast with you despite that!"
Lux sniffed. "Yeah..."
"And, like, you could just ask her to Netflix and chill after? Throw on a series...?"
"She wouldn't want to," she sighed. "Besides, she's always busy doing third-year stuff..."
"I... guess?" Quinn sounded perplexed. "Hey, I dunno. that's all I got! Which is, like, better than last time you called to whine, so."
"That's not whining!"
"Yeah, sorry, no, it's you hopelessly pining."
Lux thought up a retort, found nothing, then shrugged.
There was a long moment of silence before Quinn coughed politely. "Lux, you know I can't see you if you're shrugging, right?"
"Oh. Right." Lux sighed. "Yeah."
Quinn chuckled away from her phone. "Just find some other girl that's dating a totally ripped chick and ask her for advic- Oh! Like Caitlyn!"
Lux pulled her head from her pillow to squint at her phone.
Quinn coughed again from the other line. "You, uh, staring at the phone or something...?"
"Yes."
A sigh. "Lux."
"Quinn," she deadpanned. "You think Caitlyn ever had any girl problems in her life?"
"I - she might've?"
"She's Caitlyn, Quinn. She's got, like, killer confidence and she's totally beautiful."
"Yeah... but she had to ask Vi out somehow, right? And she's as ripped as Leo, so maybe there's some kinda parallel?"
"No. Literally none." She shook her head. "Caitlyn probably walked up to her and said, 'hey, can I take you to this five-star restaurant that I solved a major criminal case for?' and Vi swooned."
"I don't think Vi swoons?"
Lux thumped back down into her pillow and groaned.
"Okay, so, we'll circle back around to that." She heard Quinn sniff and throw something across her room. "And that's all I got? I guess - look, why don't you just take your mind off of it for a bit? Come chill with me, we can, like, go see that new superhero movie?"
Lux sniffed. "Can we get popcorn?"
"Yea, we can get popcorn," Quinn replied wryly, and Lux almost heard her rolling her eyes. "You game?"
"...Fine," she agreed after a moment, pulling herself up from her pillow. "Better than being a potato for the day."
"Again."
"Again..."
Following the weekend, school went much the same as it always did. Lux dragged herself out of bed at a regretfully early hour of the morning to get to her seven-AM class, only barely managing to get her hair into its usual golden shoulder-length wave, curling lashes into something perky and washing her face enough to not to make her look like a zombie. With a casual shirt and skirt combo, she made it out of her home just in the nick of time to run across campus and get to class.
Then, of course, ran back home to get her bag and laptop, then headed back very much not in the nick of time, just as she always managed to do on Mondays. Lux wasn’t the forgetful sort, and she was normally very structured and tidy and planned everything out in advance - but Mondays were Mondays, and she was bad with them. She was lucky that the Crownguards were afforded one of the tiny little ‘houses’ on Campus normally reserved for the Nobles, allowing her to easily run back and forth for whatever she forgot during the day.
With the Lightshields to their left, the Laurents to their right, and the Avarosan Royalty across from them, they were tucked into a neat block by the more expensive dorms of the University. Sometimes, Lux felt a little bad that she got a nice little three-room house to share with her brother because of her name and status alone - and her family’s contributions, probably - but she seemed alone in her shy guilt. Her brother certainly didn’t care, much as she liked to admonish him about manners.
At least it was a Godsend for when she ran back and forth, and it did allow her to keep all of her little things and trinkets from back home - definitely enough room to hold her various hobbies and pastimes. And so, popping out of the house for a second time, waving to the very much amused Ashe across the lawn from her, and dashing back into class without properly making it in the right time, her day resumed and went on much the same as normal. First slot, elective, history through film; second, spare; third, main, laws through history; then, her midday break of three hours before the rest of her classes came around.
It was a schedule she’d understood and worked with for the last semester and a half, and she enjoyed it well enough - beyond the early waking up, that was. She liked all of her classes and loved her courses, especially when she was able to get into the nitty-gritty of science and history. Her friends were variously enthusiastic about University, but she loved being able to go to school and finally learn the stuff she wanted to learn. Each day was fun and unique, and as the hours ticked on and she got out of her early starts she bounced around with a spring in her step, a smile on her lips, and a hum on her lips.
It might have only been her first year at Uni, but she felt as if she was finally coming into herself. No parents around to be so heavy-handed, no aunt to be so restrictive, and the ability to really express herself as she wanted to. It was fun, and she loved it. She happily moved around the sprawling complex with her usual preppy steps and bright, bubbly demeanour, flicking through social media feeds and humming to herself as she explored. The school was too big to properly go through without spending days doing so, and that was part of its unique charm. Each section was designed by architects from the various nations of Valoran, creating an epic structure that had styles warring with one another as often as they meshed.
She loved it all. She especially loved being able to grab a nice table with her friends by the sprawling quad - one of the many beautiful tables and benches that lined pretty little rectangles of greenery and shrubbery that was oh-so-carefully maintained, all overlooked by a monumental obelisk of the finest Demacia marble. The quad itself was long and green, the grass picture-perfect and perfectly maintained, and it served as one of the many fields that the award-winning sports clubs of the University could train on.
It also happened to be the day that the football team practiced, and that meant that she got to sit outside in the warm sunlight and watch her brother and his team train. She stared out at the field with a vaguely fond expression on her lips as she and her friends sat there, alternating between poking at food and working through sheets and assignments and readings in the idlest sort of way possible.
“Aren’t Mondays nice?” She sighed after a while, her elbow pressed against the wood table and her chin plopped into it soothingly.
“No,” Sivir deadpanned. “They’re not. I hate Mondays, you hate ‘em, that’s a fact.”
Lux barely even looked at Sivir and only sighed in the vague direction of the field. Her friend was far less excitable than she, and appeared as if she was still in some vague state of sleeping and waking up. The coffee cup in her cinnamon-coloured hands didn’t help all that much, and she’d been nursing it for nearly half an hour. Her sharp, angular face was tired, and her sharp eyes were droopy. It was an odd look for her, because Sivir was easily as perky as Lux herself - especially when she went around in her pizza outfit, snapping between dorms faster than other delivery girls could ever hope to manage.
“I do not,” Lux replied petulantly, leaning deeper into her palm. Her eyes watched player three with rapt attention, and each time she moved in just the right way, she sighed a little bit more.
“You literally only like Mondays because you get to watch the show,” Sivir drawled, sipping from her cup in the laziest way possible.
Quinn nodded from right beside her, not bothering to pull herself up from her worksheet. Her brown hair was slicked back for the first time in a month and pulled into a pleat, but for what reason, Lux didn’t know - she did know that it made her look super cute, and she’d made sure to tell her that. “True.”
“They’re very good,” Lux said matter-of-factly. “She’s - they’re improving. Garen’s doing good.”
“You legit know nothing about football, Lux,” Quinn told her, still not looking up as she worked. She tried to stab her fork into her fries without watching what she was doing, that was how focused she was on her work - and when she predictably missed and hit the table, she only frowned as if that wasn’t supposed to have happened.
“Yes, I do,” she protested with a puffed-out cheek.
“You’re only watching them play because of Leona,” her brunette friend continued, a knowing smile tugging at her lips. “The dashing player number three.”
Lux pouted. “...No.”
“Saying ‘no’ doesn’t make it suddenly untrue,” Sivir laughed. She leaned back in her seat and drank her coffee at a slow, steady pace, her long neck rippling with each swallow. Even dressed in track pants and a crop-top she looked glamorous: her athletic body long, lean, and tight, with just the right amount of curve to each angle to make her hot. Compared to both Lux and Quinn, she was closer to the older and seemingly endless womanly girls in the higher years. “You’re only psyched for Mondays because that’s the day that Leona runs around on the field.”
Lux stared back at her, squinted, and pouted. She considered her options, looked for suitable retorts, and tried to be witty. In the end, she settled with, “isn’t she just so hot when she’s out there?”
Sivir chuckled while Quinn hummed.
“Sure, she’s attractive,” Quinn said slowly. “Buuuuut, that’s a bit too much muscle for me, you know? I’m more of the smooth-and-curvy type.”
“Eh,” said Sivir.
Lux gaped at her. “What does eh mean?!”
“Eh.”
Quinn jerked her thumb at Sivir.
“ What does ‘eh’ mean? ”
“Not my type,” Sivir said with a shrug.
Lux sputtered. “Just because you’re both - uhm - you know - doesn’t mean you can’t say she’s not good-looking!”
“Hey, we’re a territorial bunch,” Sivir hummed. “But, sure, she’s objectively attractive.”
Lux humphed. “...I’ll take what I can get.”
“Man.” Sivir shook her head. “You’re crushing bad, huh?”
“I’m - I’m admiring!” The blonde squeaked in protest, whipping her head around in embarrassment.
“Suuuuuure, that’s what that is -”
“Of course Lux is crushing. She doesn’t know how to handle it, and all that,” Quinn agreed, but her tone was low, teasing, and primed for a punchline. “...Say, Sivir, incidentally and totally unrelatedly, how are things with Kai’Sa?”
Sivir almost instantly began to choke on her coffee. “T-t-that’s n-not - y-you’re not, like -”
Lux joined in on Quinn’s sudden laughter, and Sivir’s face transitioned into a red as intense as her cap.
“That’s - guys - ”
“Hey, you’re beating up Lux for her crush,” Quinn laughed, kicking back in her chair and sending it rocking, “but you’re the one who can’t get a date with a girl.”
“I can - I can totally get a date with her,” Sivir insisted, leaning into the table with sudden ferocity and wide-eyed intensity.
“If you ask,” Lux quipped, cocking her head coquettishly.
Sivir’s lips twitched. “...Yeah.”
“Have you?” Quinn inquired innocently.
Sivir flushed a little redder. “...No.”
“Because…?”
“Because…” Sivir gnawed on her lip. “I - fuck, dude, I dunno. She’s just so - so damned hot when she’s dancing and I don’t, like-” She slumped and scratched furiously at her hair. “I don’t how to approach her. She’s so… quiet. Focused. It’s just -”
“You’d rather watch her like a stalker?” Quinn supplied unhelpfully.
“No,” Sivir hissed. “I only go there when they order pizza!”
“Riiiight… the dance team, ordering pizza. ”
“That’s my job!”
Quinn threw her head back to laugh, and Lux giggled behind her hand. Sivir baulked at the both of them as she flushed a bright, embarrassed red, then faced the table. She pulled her brown hair out of her cap, twisted it around, then yanked it down over her eyes to cover herself. “Screw you two.”
“It’s okay,” Lux said sympathetically. “We’re both crush-buddies!”
“Yay,” Sivir deadpanned. “That's what I wanna be known for.”
Lux pouted.
“Hey, guys!” A new voice called, and Taliyah plopped herself down in the last seat at their little table; finally completing their usual routine and squad. “What’s up?”
Taliyah was bright-faced and smoothed skin, with a totally innocent and almost doe-eyed expression on her brown face. She dropped a book onto the table as she seated herself, and neatly tucked her shorts around her thighs despite the lack of need to do so. Her body was slim and fit all around, and every part of her seemed lean in a svelte sort of way. Hair was feathery and brown, and a cute dusting of freckles decorated her cheeks.
“The usual,” Lux chirped, smiling brightly. “Also: Hi, Taliyah!”
“Hi, Lux!” Taliyah hummed, a smile on her lips. “So -”
“We’re sitting here, Lux is watching Leona work out and pining after her, and Sivir is embarrassed because she’s pining after Kai’Sa,” Quinn supplied helpfully, and both Sivir and Lux sputtered. “So, the usual.”
“I’m not pining!” Lux protested, putting her palm flat on her notebook. “I’m just…”
“Pining,” said Quinn. “Lux, I don’t think you had a single crush in your life before coming here. Heck, I don’t think a dirty thought crossed your mind before Leona, you know that?”
“That’s not -” Lux started, then stopped, paused, and considered it. She slumped in the next moment, falling forward and crossing her arms to form a neat cove for her head to bury itself into. “Yeah…”
It was, unfortunately, true. It was her first year, but it wasn’t her brother’s or Leona’s. They were a year up, and Lux had been exposed to her brother’s ‘new workout buddy’ for a good half-year before she’d even entered University. It went from oh-wow-your-friend-is-hot into her being one of her brother’s main three people to work out with, and their Sunday routine became so consistent once they all moved into their respective dorms and started up a new school year that Leona’s presence became as palpable and overwhelming as a storm front.
Lux wasn’t a girl that had crushes, or sent heart-eyes at love interests, or wrote names in notebooks with little hearts beside them. She’d never cared about that, nor the more intimate thoughts of things - but now she had silly stuff like Leona Crownguard written on that secret back page of her notebook with a dozen little hearts fluttering around it and the constant thought of wow, her abs! on her mind and she had no idea what to do with it.
“I don’t get it,” Taliyah said, her head cocked and her hair flopping around. “What thoughts?”
“Dirty thoughts,” Sivir snarked, tipping her seat back and throwing her arm across the spine of it as if to present a confidant front. “She likes how strong Leona is, how fit she looks, and how alllll that would feel in bed-”
“Hey, now!” Quinn said quickly, her hands snapping out to cover both of Taliyah’s ears. “No intimate talk in front of the children!”
Taliyah blinked. “What?”
“Tali knows what we’re talking about,” Sivir scoffed.
Taliyah blinked like a lost doe.
“ Anyways, ” Lux interrupted with a face as red as a tomato, “back on topic - ”
“We had no topic,” said Sivir. She was still kicking back casually, and her cap was pushed back into place.
“Oh.” She blinked. “Right.”
Quinn snorted.
“Well,” Lux said slowly, pushing herself back up. She pulled her book back into place in front of her and grabbed her pen with the intent of getting some work done - again. “Then. Guess I’ll, uh -”
“No need to do a play-by-play-”
“-Get some work done-”
“Dude, you’re just gonna get distracted by Leona again -”
“I, for one, think it’s cute!” Taliyah interrupted, practically beaming.
Lux shuffled and laughed. “Thanks, Tali.”
Taliyah nodded rapidly as she pulled out a brown paper bag. Morgana’s bakery logo was plastered across the front, and it had Sivir peering down inquisitively to see whatever sweet treat the girl had brought with her was. “Oh, hey! Still doing that eng stuff?”
“Yeah, refraction this time,” she replied casually, flipping across her worksheets to a page of diagrams and arrows pointing in every-which-way. “You’re -”
She looked back up, then paused. Taliyah nibbled on a cinnamon bun, daintily taking small, cute bites out of it, all to the horror of Sivir and the confusion of Quinn. Lux’s lips pursed as she watched her, her golden brows furrowing inward, and Taliyah just kept on going without realizing the sudden silence.
“You’re… hm?” Taliyah blinked. Blinked at Lux, then Sivir, then Quinn. “...Guys?”
Quinn pointed her pen at her. “That’s cannibalism.”
Taliyah blinked, just as lost as always. “Uhm… What? Friends?”
“Cinnamon rolls eating cinnamon rolls,” Sivir murmured, once again tilting her cap down. “This is a bad day.”
Taliyah stared, mid-bite.
Lux only shook her head.
Taliyah pouted. “...Did I do something wro-”
“Nothing wrong, Taliyah,” Lux reassured, reaching across the table to pat her hand. “Just, you know, eating your own flesh and blood.”
The brown-skinned girl sputtered. “B-b-but it’s just a cinnamon roll?”
“That’s the point,” Quinn started, and both Lux and Sivir laughed with her. The gentle teasing was all for their own enjoyment, as the perpetually doe-eyed and innocent Taliyah never seemed to understand her own ‘vulnerability’. She acted perfectly child-like and perpetually curious, and with her shorts and baggy pullover she looked small, confused, and adorable.
Lux smiled and shook her head. She made a gentle and active attempt to start focusing on her work as Sivir and Quinn teased Taliyah for her choice of food and then started to immediately beg for a few bites of their own - the relentless sweet-addicts that they were. Her pen jotted down a handful of notes in crisp, clean print that was tiny and sweeping, then she made a few indication arrows of her own with the deftness of a graphic design artist.
Then, her eyes slipped back up to Leona on the field, admiring the way she jumped up for a catch. She stared at the lean lines of toned legs in white pants before pulling back again to her work and jotted down a few more sentences of idle notation. Another arrow was set along the curving dimensions of a camera’s diagram, and she traced out the pointed head as if it was cartoon-art. She turned back to Leona, watched her move around on the field with athletic skill, and sighed oh-so-gently. Her pen slipped and ran a long line of blue across the page, but she ignored it.
She tried to focus on doing some work, but when Leona pulled her helmet off the gig was up and Lux simply put her pen down, set her elbow on the table, propped up her hand, and plopped her chin into her palm with a pleased little sigh. The way that Leona removed the big, bulky thing off her head was delightful, and the resulting cascade of golden-red hair that had been expertly tamed into a ponytail was just beautiful. It was a river of auburn that caught the sunlight in all the right ways, and she bit her lip to see it.
Leona laughed with a nameless companion and clapped the shoulder of another as they congratulated one another on a job well done, but Lux only had eyes for what the woman herself was doing. Woman, capital W - in her mind, Leona was way more than just a girl a year or two older. She carried herself with maturity and looked like someone older than her years, and it was utterly captivating. Even her big, bulky outfit looked great on her, and another sigh left her lips as she watched Le-
“There it is,” Sivir drawled, and Lux snapped back into the present.
“Told you that you wouldn’t get any work done,” Quinn remarked dryly.
Lux blinked and shook her head. Embarrassed, she ruffled her wave of golden hair and twisted her lips into an awkward smile, finding pairs of amused eyes turned toward her. “H-hey…”
“Hey!” Taliyah chirped.
“She - I -” Lux puffed out a long, low breath. “Gaaa aaaaaaaah she just looks so good. She makes giant shoulderpads and a huge armour chest thing look good.”
“You are so hopelessly pining,” Quinn deadpanned.
“It’s cute!” Taliyah countered, leaning into the table edge and beaming. “I think you two would make a great couple, honest!”
“You always say that,” Lux countered. “It's not - I don't think that's gonna happen..."
“You don’t know that!” The Shuriman teen quipped, munching cutely on her bun. “You just gotta, like, be forward! I think.”
“You think?” Quinn drawled.
“That is way easier said than done,” Lux sighed, cocking her head and swinging her feet. “It’s -”
“Oh, shit,” Sivir said, immediately sitting upright and jerking back. “Uh, mayday, code nine, uh -”
Quinn stared at her. “What’s code - wai - oh - ”
“Leona’s coming by,” Sivir finished, waving her hand right at Lux. “Don’t just slump there -”
“Wait, you don’t - she’s not coming by here, ” Lux sputtered, twisting the same as Quinn and looking back at - ohshe’scomingrightthiswayohmy-
“She’s coming right this way,” Quinn hissed under her breath.
“ Why?” Lux squeaked. Normally, that didn’t happen - Leona walked right by with the team, oftentimes only catching Lux’s eye and offering a wave with a smile. Lux looked forward to that kind of stuff, the simple interactions between them, the noticing of her in a normal, public setting. That was how it was: Leona walked by, and Lux would indulge in the pleasant Monday sights. It was rare when Leona came by for something more than that, and though she looked forward to it each time, it always filled her chest with nerves.
“I don’t know!” Quinn retorted, kicking her under the table - and Lux, flinching and squeaking, quickly tried to flick her hair around into a more composed state and then shuffling her work around to make herself look both busy and pristine.
She honestly wasn't sure if she looked like a well put together young lady or a mess of sprawling limbs, but she put the brightest, most earnest smile on her face when Leona finally reached their table. In her gear, she was far broader than she ever was and cast an impressive shadow. Her helmet was tucked under her arm, and her gently flushed, sweaty face smiled down at them.
"Lux!" She greeted politely, her tone friendly and warm like a nice blanket for Lux to snuggle into. "And Lux's friends! Hello."
She inclined her head at each in turn, polite as always. "Quinn, pleasure as always. Taliyah, good to see you out of uniform!"
"Can't say same because you're in your uniform," Taliyah chirped brightly, "but same!"
Leona, smiling, nodded at Sivir. "I am… not sure if I've met you before? You're familiar, but -"
"Deliver pizzas around campus," Sivir explained, tilting her cap down to show Nasus's logo. "I've done a bunch for your team. Uh, teams, I guess. Er, I'm Sivir."
"Ah! That makes sense." Leona offered her hand from across the table, and Sivir awkwardly shook it. "I'm Leona, pleased to make your formal acquaintance."
"I know," Sivir said lightly. "You're pretty popular around these parts."
Lux froze and blushed, but Leona only chuckled. "Am I? I wasn't aware - but, I suppose I am on a lot of teams -"
"Right, that's it," Lux hurried to say, and Leona redirected her attention back at her.
"I'm pleased, of course." Leo's eyes twinkled down at her, and Lux's mouth felt dry. "How are you?"
"I'm great!" She managed without stammering. She licked her lips and poised herself to say, better now that you're here, just like Sivir taught her to, but the only thing to come out was, "you here?"
Lux blinked, catching herself, then stiffened. The same thing happened on Sivir's end as she caught her familiar and winced sympathetically, and she could feel the embarrassment from the others. Leona, though, grinned and raked her fingers through her hair, combing the sweaty locks of red in a way that was absolutely charming.
"Yes! Practice, of course, you know." She inclined her head. "Thank you for your continued support of the team, by the way!"
"I -" Lux chewed on her lip like a deer in headlights. "Right! Yeah! Love watching the team pract-"
Quinn stomped on her toe under the table, making her squeak. Leona frowned in sudden confusion but Lux kept on going as if nothing had happened,
"-love watching you practice! And my brother. But you, a-and the team -"
She stopped and flicked her eyes over to Quinn as if to communicate was that right? And Quinn only rolled her eyes and gestured with her hand in a silent way of saying, flirt, dummy!
Leona laughed throatily, and Lux wanted to melt. "Well, thank you for supporting me, your brother, and the team. It does -" for a second, her voice dropped an octave "-mean a lot to me, Lux."
She swallowed thickly. "M-my pleasure. I'll always be happy to support the -" a kick to the shin cut her off. "-you, L-Leo."
Good job, Quinn's expression read. Lux's face, however, reacted far too viscerally to her bold words, and as her face heated up her mind searched for some way to play it cool and suave as Ashe did.
"B-because supporting you is supporting the team!" She finished awkwardly, smiling.
Quinn's new expression read, for fuck's sake.
"I appreciate it," Leona said emphatically, smiling down at her. With the sun just beyond her head and illuminating her red hair, she looked breathtaking, and the little blonde was sure her heart was going to be heard from a mile away as it slammed against her ribcage. "I hope it wasn't too awkward for you. We were trying out some new strategies, unlike the last few Mondays…"
Lux practically felt her friends communicating with her mentally and urging her to tell Leona that she only paid attention to her, not the team or strategies. It was an easy flirt, and even she knew that. Her mouth, though, refused to work as her brain told her she should have, and awkward words spilled from her lips instead.
"T-that's cool! I don't really pay attention to the team, I'm focused on -w-work? And you - your stuff. Tactics. Uh. And I'm bad with football stuff."
Quinn hit her shin again, and she winced.
"Ah- I understand! This is a really nice place to relax and study, and it's more fun to watch friends on the team than the team itself."
"Y-yeah, friends! A-and sibling." She coughed into her hand, face red.
Leona swiped at her hair. “I’d actually come by to ask if you were going to come to the game this Wednesday? Since you’re always watching and all, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen you come by…”
For a moment, Lux blinked, perplexed. “The game on…”
“The game between us and The Imperial Noxus Academy,” Sivir said very quickly and very abruptly, driving the toe of her shoe against Lux’s chair. “The one you’ve been talking about?”
“R-right, right! Yeah.” Lux swallowed. “The game!”
“We do go,” Quinn chimed in. “Sometimes. There’s just lots of people there, you know -”
“Oh, I think I’d notice Lux,” Leona said very directly, inclining a brow at Quinn. Quinn alternated between fidgeting and insistently trying to get Lux to speak up and say something even vaguely flirty, but knowing that didn’t help her.
“Just, uh, my brother doesn’t really like me going?” Lux offered, and felt another set of sympathetic winces from her friends. “To that kind of stuff?”
“Oh.” Leona blinked. “Ah, I suppose that makes sense, yes, they can get quite rowdy -”
“B-but I’d totally go,” the blonde rushed to say, “I-I you wanted.”
Leona blinked down at her for less than half a second before beaming. “I just think it’d be nice to see you around, Lux.”
“Then I’ll, uh, be there,” she said, nodding as seriously and not awkwardly as she could manage.
“Cool,” Leona said with a grin.
“Cool,” Lux said thickly.
Leona stared at her for a long moment before looking back up at everyone else, then glancing back at her team. “Anyhow - sorry for taking up so much of your time! It was a pleasure to see and meet everyone.” She nodded crisply. “Lux, Taliyah, Sivir, Quinn - see you around!”
"Bye, Leo!" Lux called cheerily, and more than a little dreamily. She watched as Leona retreated with only one backward glance, and met her smile with a bright one of her own. She sighed and pushed her chin into her palm just a moment later, admiring the way she looked in her uniform and how darn well she wore her pants -
"She's... tall," Sivir offered after a moment. "Really, uh... broad..."
"Yeah," Lux sighed dreamily.
"Holy smokes, Lux," Quinn hissed emphatically, slamming her palm down on the table. "That was horrible!"
Lux flinched. "I - uh -"
"You had so many set-ups!" Her fellow Demacian bemoaned. "There were, like - you could have been sliding stuff in there so easy!"
"I don't know how to flirt!" Lux protested, shuffling backward in her seat. "I didn't take flirting classes!"
"You were practically sabotaging yourself!"
"I know!" Lux slumped with a groan, her previous elation gone. "I'm hopeless..."
Taliyah reached over to pat her arm. "You're not hopeless, Lux! You've got this!"
"No," she whined petulantly. "I can't even hold a conversation with her. I just -" She waved her hand "-Do that."
"That... was pretty bad," Sivir agreed.
"Okay, well, you wouldn't do any better," Quinn told her, and Sivir sputtered and pouted alongside Lux.
"H-hey! This isn't abou - it's not like you have a date!"
"I," Quinn declared proudly, setting her hand flat on her modest chest, "am a free agent, scouting around for - "
"Oh, screw off."
Lux slumped back down against the table. "I totally embarrassed myself, didn't I?"
She received two yeses and one no as responses, but in the knowledge that Taliyah was always kind by default, she had to reason she had done abysmally badly.
"Bury me now," she sighed. "Leona's never going to see me as anything other than a silly, blushing kid."
"So..." Sivir popped her lips. "Reality?"
Lux stuck out her lower lip.
"Look, look," Quinn said emphatically, "She was totally flirting with you, at least!"
Lux squinted at her. "...Were you at the same table with the rest of us...?"
"Really, she was absolutely laying it on thick," Quinn told her, straightforward and practical. "She said she noticed you watching her -"
"-Great, so she thinks I'm a stalker."
"-She talked about you going to other games and stuff-"
"-Right, because she noticed I don't actually support the team or whatever-"
"-And she asked you personally if you were going to come to this one!"
"-Because she thinks I'm wishy-washy and don't care," Lux concluded.
Sivir coughed. "Yeah, mixed signals, here."
"It was totally flirting," Quinn insisted, her pen brandished threateningly at Sivir. "Like the same way that Kai'Sa keeps ordering pizza even though she's a dancer."
Sivir sputtered. "W-why do you keep making this about me?! A-and dancers need to eat, too!"
"Eat you, maybe -"
Sivir clapped her hands around Taliyah's ears. "Children!"
Taliyah blinked.
"She wasn't flirting," Lux said wistfully, her finger tracing across the squiggly, mistaken arrow in her notebook. "She was just being nice, like always."
"It did kinda seem like flirting," Taliyah offered brightly, nodding her head in a way that had brown hair bouncing.
"You don't know the first thing about that kind of stuff, Tali," Sivir remarked.
"Yes, I do!" The brown-skinned girl countered with a puffed-out cheek. "I think she was! I am not sure why since she's dating Dia-"
Sivir and Quinn stiffened as Lux immediately threw her head down into her arms. A whine left her lips as she buried her face and made her best mimicry of a potato right there on the table, with her insides squeaking and indignant. Her stomach twisted with a wistful longing, and she groaned long and low.
"Tali," Sivir said gently, "We don't mention Issue Number Three."
"Oh."
"A-and it's only alleged," Quinn rushed to say. "We don't actually know that! It's just a rumour."
"Oh."
Lux groaned. Sometimes, it was easier to forget that Leona might-or-might-not-be dating Diana from the track team, math team, piano-prodigy-person that had all-around good grades and stellar academics despite also being a total punk and activist chick. Sure, the rumours never did more than put them in the same place at the same time and involve Leona bailing her out from the ire of professors, but that could have meant they were dating and that was more than enough to overwhelm Lux's tiny heart.
She couldn't hold a candle flame to someone like that. She was fine with the concept of not being able to compare to others - she knew that there was no way a girl like her could match an Ashe, or a Caitlyn, or, God forbid, a Kayle, but when that someone was a prospective challenger to Leona's heart she felt dismal.
Quinn coughed into her hand. "Look, it's totally good, you know? Uh. Just - look, let's figure out how Lux is going to manage this game on Wed, yeah?"
Lux peered at her from over her white arms. "Sorry?"
"What'd Ya mean?" Sivir asked, frowning and tipping her hair back far enough to fall. "She's just going to go to the bleachers, sit there, and watch?"
"You're going to fall," Tailyah gently reprimanded Sivir, but the pizza girl pressed on undeterred.
"I'm not going?" Lux shook her head. "My brother would kill me-"
"It's just the game, you're not hitting up and afterparties," Quinn reassured. "You're supporting the school, seeing your crush, easy."
"Aaaand he's not the boss of you," the cinnamon-skinned girl supplied.
"That, too."
"We gotta prep you," Sivir said confidently. "Make sure you're ready for-"
"If I'm going," Lux told them, "You're all going. You know that, right?"
"Well, I'm working," Sivir said casually. "And Taliy-"
That was as far as she got before she kicked back too far with her chair and toppled right over, sending her crashing to the ground. She huffed and screeched and then groaned on the floor, and where a normal set of friends might have rushed up to help her, or, perhaps, looked for aid in case she was hurt, the three of them just watched her flail. Taliyah blinked as if to say 'I told you so', Quinn pressed her chin into her palm, and Lux sniffed blankly.
"You fell," Taliyah concluded.
"Just like Lux into love," Sivir groaned from the floor, ever one to get the last word in.
Lux groaned and plopped her face back into her arms.
The game was... exactly what a football game looked like, which meant nothing that she understood or recognized. She had no idea what was going on, and having Quinn explain it to her didn't help all that much. Their school was winning, at least, and everyone seemed to be happy and cheering, so she cheered along with them at the right times and clapped at the others with respect.
Her eyes and attention were firmly focused on Leona the entire time, however. She had almost no indication of watching the school’s team play, and barely even paid attention to her own brother. She only stared at the redhead as she dashed across the field, calling out defensive plays and moved to and from different sections and roles with second-hand nature. She didn’t catch the ball all that much, and Lux honestly did not know if she was supposed to or not, but she did amazing.
In her opinion.
She swore she cheered loudest whenever Leona did something spectacular, and jumped to her feet in excitement whenever their team was successful. She whooped and clapped her hands, only to be tugged back down by Quinn when she overstayed her welcome. Lux knew she wasn’t being noticed by Leona or her brother, but she couldn’t stop her enthusiasm at being able to see the older girl run around so athletically, displaying just how strong and fit she really was. It was purely, totally indulgent, and she adored it.
She happily watched the game for the few hours they were there, almost hopelessly crushing on the redheaded girl running up and down in her big, bulky uniform. She didn’t mind the time nor the public environment, and she felt totally normally shouting and cheering when she was mixed in with a crowd of hundreds. It felt easy, and she went along with the hype and the enthusiasm of it all with nothing more than a smile.
“They’re really good!” She said emphatically at one point, sitting down and pressing her thighs together.
“Do you even know what’s going on?” Quinn asked her, and she just shook her head with excitement.
“Nope! But Leo looks great!” She cheered, hands clapping and eyes beaming.
“At least you’re getting something out of this,” Quinn said, amusement thick in her voice. “...Aren’t you cold like that?”
“Like what?”
“Like that, ” Quinn said, flicking her finger out, and Lux puffed her cheeks out defensively. Truth be told, she was cold - she’d chosen to wear a cute little skirt and blouse combo that highlighted all of her best features, but she hadn’t accounted for the wind and chill. She was left feeling cold from head to toe each time she sat still for too long, but the energy and excitement buoyed her.
“Nope!” She fervently denied, and that was that. The game progressed and she, shivering in her seat, cheered and whooped them on. She watched it all with rapacious intent despite her utter lack of football knowledge and anything regarding sports in general, all solely to get her fix of Leona.
Twice, she thought she saw Leona turn toward the stands and lock eyes with her - but she knew it was her imagination because of the sheer distance involved and the sight issues with a cage in front of one’s face, but she liked the imagination of it. She liked all of it, really, and was cheering just as eagerly as anyone else as their team solidly pulled ahead of their competition and netted themselves a slick win.
Everything was a riot of cheering and clapping after that, with the entire school happy for the win and the opposing team very decidedly un happy about it. All Lux knew was that she was shouting out Leona’s name at the top of her lungs in glee, adding her support to the sport she had no idea about and to the girl she was hopelessly pining after like a lovestruck fool.
“Can we get down there?” She asked excitedly, bouncing in her seat.
“In this crowd?” Quinn retorted, jostling her way between other excited students. “Nah. Besides, what’re you gonna do?”
Lux cocked her head. “Ah - point! But, hey, it looked spectacular!”
“No, you think Leona looked spectacular.”
“Yup!” She chirped, and Quinn laughed.
It was a bit of a mess from there. Trying to get down from the bleachers in a mostly organized fashion as the teams retreated to their respective benches and started to pack and prepare, all while cheerleaders flooded in behind them and all but tossed themselves at the winning team. She didn’t see much of Leona from there, though she’d wished to; it was all lost in the crowds and the tents and the cheering people, but a warm buzzed filled her chest all the same.
Fighting her way down to the steps of the bleachers proved difficult, and remaining beside Quinn was awkward when so many were trying to move, but she didn’t mind it. She just sighed dreamily and cooed softly, all while her friend laughed, rolled her eyes, and slung an arm around her shoulder.
“Worth it,” Lux sighed.
“Sure,” the brunette laughed.
Pushing through people and stepping down the bleachers and onto the grass below, the two girls hummed and joked as best as they could over the sounds of eager students and people that crowded in around them. Though Lux had no expectations to see Leona, she still peered over students and crowds as if to spot her tall, broad, redheaded shape. She knew she wouldn’t, but she liked trying.
She was happy, really, that she’d shown up. Even if it was only to offer the vaguest sense of support, she was happy she got to see Leona playing and the team winning. And her brother, of course, but that was a more distant secondary. It felt like the same guilty pleasure as seeing Leo on a nice Sunday morning in her post-workout glory, only now she didn’t feel so weird for fawning over her. She was sure more than one girl had been squealing out her name, after all.
“Lux!”
She turned to Quinn. “Sorry?”
Quinn frowned. “What?”
“Lux!”
Lux blinked. “Wai-”
A hand clasped her shoulder, and she spun around with a squeak - then squeaked louder still as she stared right at a bulky torso. Her neck craned up slowly, and her face went red as she stared into Leona’s flushed, sweaty face. Her body stiffened and her teeth dug into her lower lip as her mind went blank. The touch of her hand was like fire against her skin, and the proximity was almost overwhelming.
“L-leo!” She squeaked. “H-hi! You’re here!”
“I am!” Leona laughed, smiling gently down at her. She shuffled a bag around her shoulder, and all Lux could think was wow, wide. “You’re here, too! I saw you up in the stands - glad that you managed to come.”
For a moment, all she did was swallow thickly and stare. It was only when Quinn nudged her back that she stammered her way back into life. “Y-yeah, of course! I, ah - you asked, s-so I came. To support you. Guys. You guys.”
“You did,” Leona answered, calm and smooth and so charming that Lux wanted to melt. “Thank you for that. You were rather enthusiastic up there!”
Lux squeaked, face suddenly far more red. “Y-you saw that?”
“Of course! It’s hard not to notice you - well, I can’t say that because I’m sure your brother has, but I did.”
Lux wanted to melt. “O-oh, uh, I mean, thanks! I, ah, n-noticed you, too! You played really well!”
She didn’t really know that given her utter lack of understanding for the game, but Leona beamed. “Oh, thank you. We all played well, but I’m very glad that you noticed!”
Quinn insistently nudged at her backside, and she swallowed hard. “I always, uh, notice. You. Yeah.”
She felt silly and small and was sure that she was trembling, but the way Leona looked down at her made it both all okay and totally not okay. The fact that it was cold only made it worse, because even in the close press of bodies and the heat of embarrassment hitting her face she felt it nipping at her bare skin and slipping under thin clothes. She shuffled awkwardly and crossed her arms in a way that she hoped was casual, all in an attempt to stop herself from shivering too blatantly.
“Always,” Quinn added emphatically, leaning in and smiling. “You did play great, Leona. ‘Grats!”
“Thank you,” she answered smoothly. “I appreciate it!”
Lux shivered a fraction, and pressed her arms around herself a little closer. “Y-yeah, uh -”
“Are you alright, Lux?” Leona asked, very suddenly and very direct.
“I - b-beg your pardon?” Lux stammered, her face heating up more than before. Her mind twisted with the idea that Leona figured out how awkward she was and how her blushing face was giving everything away and that she was totally helpless and -
“You’re really very red,” she said seriously, and Lux felt the ground fall from underneath her. “...And you are shivering. Didn’t you bring a jacket?”
Quinn snorted, and Lux swallowed hard. “A-ah, n-no I - h-hah, you almost sound like my brother…”
“Well, it is good advice,” the athlete laughed, cocking her head back and shuffling with her bag. “It would be a terrible shame if you caught a cold or something.”
She flushed. “It was totally worth it to come and s-see you… play.”
“I appreciate that immensely,” she thanked, but cocked her head and jutted out a finger. “Buuuut I won’t have you catching a cold on my watch, Lux!”
“You, uh -”
“Here,” Leona said, all but whipping a cloth of white and black and red from her bag and thrusting it at her. “Wear this. It’s warm enough, at least.”
Lux grabbed onto it dumbly. “You’re - isn’t this -”
“I’m not going to wear it yet - I’m far too sweaty,” she laughed. “Don’t want to ruin it. It’ll be better off with you, anyhow.”
“Are you sure?” She asked, timid and careful. She rubbed the thick cotton between her fingers, but hesitated to spread it. The colours she recognized and the shape of it she understood, and it was the copy of the ones that the other players and cheerleaders were even then putting on.
“Of course! I -” she looked back at the team, then returned to fix Lux with her golden gaze. “-Don’t want you to get cold, after all, and you look very cold.”
Lux was sure she was glowing red, and she had to resist the urge to bury her face in the jacket she’d just been offered. She was aware of the people shuffling around them and congratulating Leona even as they talked, with the golden-haired girl reaching back to accept pats and handshakes with the same amicable expression as always - but she always looked right back at Lux, and it left her feeling weak in the knees.
“Thank you,” she said, soft, quiet, and emphatic. “Really.”
“My pleasure,” Leona assured, an earnest smile on her face. “I take it you won’t be going to the afterparty, right?”
“That’s probably not for us,” Quinn said, laughing shyly from the sidelines.
“Not for me, either,” the redhead laughed, and shook her head. “But, I suppose it means Lux will have to see me later and get that jacket back to me.”
Her tone was almost hopeful - or so Lux wanted to delude herself into thinking. All she knew was that she clutched onto it very securely and nodded her head rapidly, an ‘Of course!’ reading on her lips.
“Then, I’ll see you later?” Leona hummed, and Lux nodded rapidly again. Leona smiled, nodded her own head as if to mirror her, then turned quickly on her heel. She jogged back to her team, clearly having abandoned them in favour of pulling her out of the crowd, somehow having spotted her despite Lux’s very short height and unremarkable frame in the midst of dozens of students, and all of that left her feeling awestruck.
“Well,” Quinn drawled after a long moment. “That was… something.”
“Yeah,” Lux agreed, sighing dreamily.
“She gave you her varsity jacket,” the brunette continued, sounding just as awed as Lux.
“Yup,” she said cheerfully, pulling it to her chest. It felt as warm as she imagined Leona would, and it smelled vaguely of rich Targonian olives.
“It’s got her name and number and everything on it,” the girl kept going, speaking out obvious words in the same sort of stunned way that Lux was currently in.
“Mhm.”
“Holy smokes. That’s… hella forward.” Quinn nudged her. “Maybe she does have a thing for you?”
“She’s just being nice,” Lux sighed, and warm, fuzzy feelings swarmed through her stomach.
“...Uh-huh.”
She said nothing and only hummed, to which Quinn nudged her.
“Lux, I know this is a big thing for you, but you’re gonna look like a total weirdo if you just stand there and hug a jacket.”
“Mmmm…”
Quinn sighed, flicked her nose, and had Lux pulling back with a startled whine. “Put the thing on, Luxanna!”
“Fine!” She scoffed, indignant to the last, and started to pull it on.
It was not a jacket that she could ever hope to fit in. It was several sizes larger and physically broader in every which way, and she doubted that it was even made in any woman’s sizes she’d used before. It was wide around her shoulders and flopped past them and far too long on her torso in a way that made it as long as a dress, but as she wrapped herself up in it she felt warm, safe, and fuzzy in a way that absolutely wasn't because of the cotton.
Burying herself in the tall collar, she sighed. “Ah.... this is great…”
Quinn stared blankly at her. “...You’ve got it so bad.”
“So let me get this straight,” Sivir began matter-of-factly, “she saw that you were cold, pulled you out of the crowd, and gave you her varsity jacket?”
“Yup,” Lux hummed, her tone bubbly and bright and her legs swinging ahead of her cheerfully.
The day was bright and nice, and it suited Lux’s mood entirely. The quad was sunny, and people were fooling around on the grassy plain that stretched across the length of it. She had her notes stretched out in front of her and a variety of drawings in a series of crisp lines, and every other line was highlighted with a yellow marker or otherwise underlined with purple - a harsh contrast to her typical and delightful blue gel pen that she so favoured.
Her notebook was a dream for a nerd like herself: filled with her diagrams and drawings for school, some it notation and some of it fanciful design work. It, along with her workbooks, formed a dense package of information in front of her that only Taliyah would have had hope at understanding, but all of it was neatly organized. She was as efficient and neat with her schoolwork as she was with everything else that she did, and she enjoyed her set-up - but not nearly as much as she enjoyed admiring the sunny day and the gentle thoughts of the varsity jacket tucked away in her bag.
The sprinklers that watered the grass and vegetation around them had kicked a spray up into the air that hovered in a nice, pleasing mist, and with the light of midday shining down, a rainbow stretched itself across the quad. It was a dazzling, brilliant display, and if Lux squinted just enough, she could spot the secondary bow just above it. The double-rainbow pleased her in a strange sort of way, she mused upon its meaning as she hummed to herself.
“...She’s lost it,” Sivir concluded after a long, dry moment.
“She’s admiring the double rainbow,” quipped Taliyah.
“She’s admiring Leona,” Quinn snorted.
“Is that it, Lux?” Sivir chuckled, reaching across the table with her coffee in hand. “Feeling lucky with the double rainbow? Good sign for your love life?”
“Technically, all rainbows are double rainbows,” she hummed. “It’s only different when you can actually see both bows, though.”
Sivir’s expression flatlined. “...Great way to deflate the convo, dude.”
Lux pulled back. “It is super cute, though!”
“Noooooooot what I was asking.”
She laughed. “Nope, but it is the answer.” She shook her head and fluffed out her hair. “Besides, it’s totally true that Leo gave me her jacket! And I’ve got it cleaned, ironed, pressed, scented, and everything!”
Sivir coughed into her hand. “Excessive and creepy, but okay.”
“Are you going to give it back to her?” Taliyah inquired, and Lux nodded brightly.
“Yup!” A pause, then the first sign of a crack appeared in her bright and bubbly demeanour. “...Somehow.”
Quinn pulled her attention away from Valor to stare at her. The few days she brought the bird in for falconry practice were the few that he graced their table, and he never failed to be an impressive sight: a big, bulky bird of blue feathers and yellow talons, his beak sharp and his eyes almost sharper still. He was massive and powerful, and how he was able to just perch on Quinn’s shoulder without any teacher or supervisor noticing and blowing a gasket was beyond Lux.
“Lux,” she began, “you do know you have to give it back, ri-”
“ Yes, I know I have to give it back,” she replied petulantly. “I just haven’t figured out how.”
“Walk up to her?” Sivir suggested, a teasing smile on her lips.
“Yeah,” Quinn agreed. “Like Sivir did with Kai’s - oh, wait -”
Sivir sputtered and flushed red. “I didn't even - I did not deserve it that time!”
“I want to walk up to her… but…” Lux bit her lip and chewed thoughtfully. "I could even just give it to her on a Sunday, but I kinda want to... I dunno, impress her? Do something cool.”
“Bring her flowers!” Taliyah chirped. “That’s cute!”
That is cute, she thought.
“That… would be super forward,” Quinn said slowly. “Don’t do that.”
Too forward, she concluded, laughing awkwardly as if she knew what she was talking about. “Yeah…”
“Coffee, then? Or tea?” Taliyah shrugged. “I know she likes that kind of stuff after swim practice.”
Lux hummed thoughtfully. “I guess that’s pretty goo-” She paused. “Swim practice?”
Taliyah cocked her head. “Yes?”
“You said the same thing the other day when Leona was here,” the blonde explained slowly. “Isn’t Leo, like, a year above you…?”
“Yeah,” said Taliyah, “but she’s been teaching the first-years this semester, so I see her a bunch.”
She nodded pensively. “Ah. Okay.”
Taliyah cocked her head. “Why don’t you come try out?”
The words I can’t swim rested on her tongue, but Lux didn’t speak them. It was a sore spot for her, and her embarrassment over it stemmed from a dumb incident in a pool once that she wasn’t eager to repeat. Instead, she settled for, “Swimming isn’t really my thing.”
“But Leona is there,” Sivir said suggestively, waggling her brows.
Lux frowned. “She’s on a lot of teams, though.”
“Right, but hear me out: She’s in the pool. In a swimsuit. Gets wet. Teaches people and gets all hands-on.” She waggled her brows again. “She’ll be by your side, like, all the time, and she’ll be in a bikini while doing it. When would you ever get a chance like that otherwise?”
Lux could have said a lot in response. Instead, her face blushed red and her mouth went dry at the thought of Leona in a swimsuit, all wet and glistening as she ran out of a pool of water like some heroine in a spy movie. “Oh.”
“And - Tali, when does she, like, end? Or, how does this -”
“Open time for new members would be at, like, six? Ish?” She shrugged. “Something like that. It’s pretty chill!”
Sivir snapped her fingers. “See, you can, like, head over there at the tail-end, bring the jacket, maybe a coffee, pretend you’re scouting the place out for a new club to join, see her in a sexy outfit…” She leaned back. “Give her the jacket - oh, dude, don’t bring anything, see that she’s all cold and stuff and you can be all, ‘hey, if you’re cold we can get a coffee?’ or somethin’. Easy. ”
“You are wildly overestimating my abilities!” Lux chuckled nervously. “Besides, that's kinda… stalker-y? I just wanna leave a good impression with this.”
“You want some time for yourselves and stuff,” Sivir said flippantly, waving her hand. “So, pretend it’s casual, show interest in her stuff, give her the jacket because ‘she looks cold and wet’, get a coffee… Slip into her DM’s…”
Quinn smiled as she preened Valor. “Yeah, just like how Sivir did with -”
“ Dude. ”
Lux gnawed on her lip, ignoring the way that Sivir glared at Quinn. “I mean… maybe? I guess it’s as good an idea as any…”
“I, for one, think Leona would love it if you joined the swim team!” Taliyah said. “And she’s super great with first years! She’s very, very kind.”
Lux sighed into her hand. “I know. She’s really nice.”
Sivir rolled her eyes. “ Anyways… then, just join the team and impress her, and stuff. Easy, simple-”
“She’s also very good at teaching,” Taliyah hummed.
“Right?”
Sivir pouted. “Can you stop gushing for a single second so we can discuss getting you a girlfriend?”
“No.”
Sivir grumbled and buried her face in her cup. “Well, alright, then. Guess I’ll just sit here with falcon girl while you two gush.”
“It’s a good plan,” Quinn said breezily. “What’s there to discuss? Walk in, give jacket, maybe walk out with Leona on her arm, easy, peasy, no room for error. Gets her attention, impresses Leona with her dedication and her willingness to try new things. There’s no way Lux could mess it up!”
Valor squealed - a loud, keening screech of a noise that had the three flinch and Quinn peer inquisitively.
“...What did he say?” Lux asked innocently.
Quinn puffed out her cheeks and looked away awkwardly. “Nothing.”
“What?”
“Nothing. ” Quinn coughed. “He said good luck - whatthefuckValorIcan’tsaythat-”
The university’s pool was fairly large, all told. It was big and wide and nice, with enough space for dozens of people and facilities for any sort of thing one would want. It was Olympic-sized, impressive in every regard, and the first time that Lux had been inside. She walked along almost tentatively, practically afraid of her shoes leaving marks on the crisp blue floors, and stared at it all with a mixture of trepidation and awe.
Quite a few people were swimming around, but with the size of the pool and the distance between everyone, there was plenty of space and privacy. She didn’t immediately recognize anyone, and she gently stepped on through as if making her way toward the office at the far end by the lifeguard station. She kept an idle eye out for Leona, but it wasn’t as easy as she thought it would be to spot her in the pool; there was a lot of space and every chance was underwater.
“Lux?” A voice called, gentle, confused, but also distinctly pleased. “Is that - Lux, hello!”
She half-turned, and a squeak escaped her throat. Leona was pulling herself out of the water on the edge of the pool just ahead of her, clearly having already spotted her and dragging herself free of the water for the sole purpose of talking to her. It was a problem, though, because Lux found it very suddenly hard to concentrate as the tall girl’s swimsuit-clad body was slowly revealed, water dripping down the muscled contours of her curvy body, and her breath caught right in her lungs.
Leona looked gorgeous. She was wearing a one-piece instead of a bikini, but there was no way Lux could feel bothered by it. It was technically less revealing than her workout clothes, but it felt like so much more when it was soaked with water. The yellow fabric clung to her body like a second skin, outlining the tautness of her abs in perfect relief and hugging her shapely, sizeable bustline in a way that perfectly framed each round breast. Her stomach rippled with effort as she pulled herself out of the water, and her waves of golden-red hair hung over her shoulders in a damp, brilliant mass that looked astounding.
Curves bounced as she pulled herself out of the water and slipped herself up onto the edge of the pool in a graceful sweep, and she pushed her damp hair up and over her shoulder in a cascading waterfall of red. Her swimsuit hugged every inch of her, and long, muscular legs were stretched out in front of her. She was fit, defined, and curvy by every metric, and it stole Lux’s breath away to look at. She almost had to physically remind herself that she needed to breathe, in fact, and stepping forward, she felt awkward and tiny by comparison.
“Hey, Leo!” She greeted eagerly, waving her hand and willing her awkwardness away. “W-what’s up? What are you, uh, doing here?”
“I was about to ask the same thing,” Leona replied, smooth and self-assured. She smiled up at her as she approached, and the sight of her sitting down offered Lux an excellent view of her body. “I’ve been handling the first years this semester. Training, teaching, stuff like that.”
“Oh, really?” She said, ignoring the fact that she already knew all of that. “Neat! That’s… cool! You, uh -” She wracked her brains for something to say. “-Like that? Kinda stuff? Like, teaching younger years?”
“Yes,” Leona answered gently. “Teaching is rather fun, I find. I like supporting people and allowing them to find their own footing- it’s rather rewarding.
Lux smiled softly. “Oh. That’s really nice, Leo.”
“I don’t know about nice, but I enjoy it,” the redhead replied bashfully.
“It totally seems like a ‘you’ thing,” Lux said quickly and gently, before her eyes widened. “I-if that’s not, like, too inappropriate to say -”
The athlete raised an eyebrow. “Why would it be?”
“I don’t… wanna assume?”
“That’s all perfectly fine with me, Lux,” Leona said, smiling up at her. “I appreciate your honesty and your observations.”
Lux looked away as she flushed. She nervously brushed at her hair and coughed to clear her dry throat, inwardly cursing her inability to take even a simple compliment without falling flat on her face. “T-thanks, Leo! Y-you’re too kind.”
To me, her mind supplied, but the words didn’t come out.
“So,” the older girl began, changing the topic with a gentle nudge, “why are you here, Lux? Looking to get some pool time in?”
“I - maybe!” She brushed at her hair. “I was thinking I’d check the place out? Was, uhm, considering joining the first-year team. You know, get some… exercise in?”
“Really?” Leona beamed up at her, and Lux flushed harder. “That sounds wonderful, Lux! I mean, ah -” She scratched the back of her neck awkwardly “-the exercise and the joining stuff. Swimming is very fun, and it’s a good work-out!”
“Yeah! M-might be just, uh, up my alley!” She lied, struggling to smile.
Leona’s smile turned a bit sly. “Better than the running, yes?”
“A-a ahahaha…” Lux flushed and sputtered out a laugh. “I, uhm, guess so -”
“I jest, Lux,” Leona said quickly, her brows furrowing. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to insult. I just -”
“O-oh. Oh.” Lux swallowed hard. “That makes - I mean, I knew you weren’t being mean! I just… got embarrassed, you know…”
“No, I’m sorry. It was partially my fault for going along with it and encouraging such a strenuous run when you weren’t quite so athletic as us.”
“I’m just a nerdy twig,” Lux lamented, shaking her head. “I bit off more than I could chew.”
“You’re very intelligent, and your body is very well-proportioned where it counts,” Leona said matter-of-factly, and Lux tried not to blush too badly. “Besides, I rather enjoy the company of nerds.” She offered a wink, and Lux did blush very badly. “For what that’s worth.”
She swallowed and shuffled awkwardly. “I-it’s worth a lot, I think.”
Leona’s smile was warm and inviting. “That’s very good news.”
“M-maybe, uh, this could be, like, a take-two? Of that?” Lux shuffled and laughed awkwardly. “You training me, you know? A-assuming that you’d be handling me if I joined, you know…”
“I’d love to handle you, Lux,” Leona said, and the words left Lux as bright as a tomato for all the wrong reasons. She wasn’t sure if Leona was aware of the implications of what she’d said or she was actually hitting on her, but when taken at face value, Lux was left in a panic.
She knew she should say something suave, something cool and flirtatious, so when she said, “I’d love to get handled, too!”, she wanted to cringe and dive head-first in the water.
“Then I’ll be happy to help,” Leona hummed, and then winked - and Lux felt herself squeak and shiver from head to toe. She knew that Leona couldn’t have been flirting, but it left her feeling dangerously hot and warm and utterly unsure of herself.
“T-that sounds great,” she said haltingly, brushing at her hair in a nervous tick. “U-uhm - o-oh, right! I wanted to, uh, also say that I’ve got your jacket!” She patted her bag as she stepped forward. “It’s all, uh, clean, and stuff! I could… leave it for you here? Somewhere? In case you want it for later?”
“My - oh, yes, that’s right.” Leona inclined her head and offered a smile. “You cleaned it? That’s very thoughtful of you!”
“Y-yeah, no probs!” She swallowed thickly, trying to will herself to be bold as she approached Leona. “I, uh… like being thought for you, Leona!”
At least, that was what she intended to say. She got to about the word thought before things went horribly, terribly wrong. The first problem was her distraction with Leona in general: the look of her body, the way water dripped down her sculpted, strong face, her broad shoulders, and down her large, buxom chest; how her muscles were perfectly outlined by the water in a way that left her mouth dry, and how gorgeous she appeared from top to bottom. Then, there was the not-so-subtle problem of the water itself. The fact that it was, even then, dripping from Leona and across the bend, and with Lux well behind the rubber of the edge that kept people safe -
Well, Lux learned why people weren’t supposed to run on a pool deck.
She slipped. She skidded forward. She flipped right over the edge, and plopped herself down into the pool with all the ceremony of a bird trying to take off for the first time and utterly failing.
Then, as she sank into the water with her bag and all, the second problem kicked in: she could not, in fact, swim. She immediately began to sputter and sink, her body kicking out and her arms flailing for all of three seconds before her head dove down. The issue was compounded upon by her bag, which, she very awfully realized, had both her books and Leona’s jacket - and even if her notebook was covered in waterproof binding for that very reason, Leona’s was not. She held it above the water with disregard for herself, and even if she kept it reasonably less dry, she was sinking rather fast.
Leona dove under the water in a heartbeat. There was just a brief moment, it seemed, where Leona just sort of stared in utter perplexion, but it was so brief as to be unnoticeable. The moment she was slipping under she was there, sweeping in, scooping her up, capturing her slender body in her big, strong arms. She only flailed harder for it, though, and even then, her protests were made useless by her raw strength. She was picked up and carried out of the water in a heartbeat, and quickly set back onto the deck as fast as she’d fallen in.
“Can you breathe?” Leona started, peering down at her, and Lux’s sputtering and pointless coughing answered that for her.
For a long moment, Lux was struggling to realize what she’d done and what had happened before her eyes went wide with the second realization: she was there in Leona’s arms, rescued by her crush, her body the closest it had ever been in her life. She was just an inch apart, and her head was both cradled by a rock-hard bicep and set just a few inches away from her shapely, rounded breast, as if she were a baby. Her hard stomach was right by her, and her spine rested across toned, thick thighs, and it left her feeling even more mortified than her slip into the water.
Blue eyes were locked onto Leona’s for a long, long moment. The gold was mesmerizing, and all she could do was stare as Leona peered down at her with raw concern. The intelligence and care she saw there were heartwarming and breathtaking in equal measure, and despite her current predicament, she was mesmerized. She loved that all that care was direct right at her for the first time in her life, and the proximity was overwhelming for her young body; she was heating up and feeling all gooey within that it left her dizzy.
She quickly remembered just what she’d done and how she’d done it, though, and as her eyes went wider with panic, her stomach twisted with fear, instead. Her eyes shot over to her bag, which was partially wet and damp. She bit her lip and felt her face heat up with total and utter mortification, and she tensed up from top to bottom.
“Your jacket,” she squeaked, eyes wide. “A-ah -”
“What?” Leona glanced off to the side, then snorted a laugh. “That doesn’t matter. Are you alright?”
“I - uhm - yes?” Lux winced. “I - sorry, uh.”
She swallowed again. She had slipped. She walked forward, slipped, and fell into the pool. All because she was distracted. She was - she was an idiot. She’d made a fool of herself in front of Leona. She -
“You didn’t get any water in your lungs, did you?” Leona asked with a mixture of amusement and concern. Her hand was touching Lux’s forehead, and every inch of her shivered and tensed.
“N-no, I, uh -” She was aware, dimly, of eyes staring at them with concern. “I’m sorry. I messed up. I -”
“You slipped,” Leona said calmly, offering a gentle smile. “Happens all the time -”
“-I ruined your jacket - ”
“I don’t particularly care,” Leona chuckled. “It’ll dry. Besides, you have books in there and you’re soaked! I think we need to get you to the showers and get you dried off - and warm, of course.”
Lux squeaked and flinched. “I’m - I’m sorry-”
Leona leaned down. Lux’s breath caught in her throat at the even more sudden proximity, and the descent of her face made her head, for a second, think that she was about to get kissed there in Leona’s arms. She was aware of her muscles and her sizeable bust almost grinding against her cheek, and every bit of her was stiff - but Leona didn’t go in for a kiss, only to look her over and make sure she was totally okay.
“You didn’t hit your head, did you?”
“No, I - no.”
“Good.” Leona gave her a lopsided grin. “It’s okay - you’re okay. We’ll get this all cleaned up, get you dried off, and -”
“-The jacket-”
“-Can get cleaned at a later point,” Leona laughed. “Really, I don’t mind. You’re much more important.”
Lux’s heart was warmed, but her body was cold - way too cold. “I, uh, I’m sorry. For making a scene, and -”
“-And I’m sorry for distracting you,” the older girl said. “It’s my fault that you slipped.”
Lux sputtered out a laugh. “How? I’m the dummy that walked too fast!”
“You were talking with me, so it’s my fault.” Leona bowed her head. “Sorry, Luxanna. I’ll make it up to you if I can.”
Lux giggled incredulously at her. How was Leona apologizing to her after what she’d done?
“No,” she insisted, “That was totally my fault.”
“It was absolutely mine,” Leona insisted, lifting Lux up from her lap to get her into a more respectable position. “I’ll fix it”. She waved her hand. “I’ll replace whatever books I ruined, okay?”
Lux let out a tiny giggle and an incredulous snort. She couldn’t understand how Leona was being so apologetic for her fault, and it was baffling. “Make it up to me over coffee or something, I don’t need new books!”
“Okay,” Leona said, quick and easy and charming.
For a moment, all Lux did was blink. “Oka-Sorry? Pardon?”
“Okay,” Leona repeated with faint amusement. “I’ll take you for coffee. It’ll get you warm, I think, after the, ah, water.”
Lux stared. “You’ll take me for c-coffee -”
As she said the words, they hit her. She’d just asked Leona to coffee. Leona accepted. Her mind spun panicked thoughts: Was that - was that a date?! Had she- she didn’t even drink coffee -!
Her mouth spoke on instinct to save her embarrassment. “Idon’tdrinkcoffee!”
“Hot chocolate?” Leona offered, still cradling her head, and Lux stared, wide eyed.
“Yes,” she squeaked.
Leona grinned. “Same here. So: hot chocolate, cafe, me?”
She flapped her mouth. She was chilled and wet to the core, and yet, she felt warm and fuzzy. “Okay.”
“Perfect.” Leona flashed her perfect teeth. “Now, let’s get you warm, dry, and see what we can salvage in your bag, okay?”
She nodded dumbly. “Okay.”
Her mind, meanwhile, was stuck with the sole thought of: what did I just do?
The cafe was one that Lux knew well. A small, hipster-like place on campus that Taliyah frequented with fresh-ground coffee - not that Lux understood what that meant - fresh pastries and brightly-coloured walls mixed in with a classic cream-and-coffee scheme. It was a cozy place meant for relaxation rather than studying, with plenty of beanbag chairs and little couches to snuggle into and read a good book.
It wasn't a place she really expected Leona to take her to, but the older girl seemed more than comfortable with it. She ordered them both a pair of rich hot chocolates and got them a nice, comfy place to sit on a couch big enough for two. It was cute and it was cozy, and the sight of Leona pulling out a book, taking her shoes off, and curling up with it in hand left Lux feeling fuzzy inside.
But, then, most of it was leaving her feeling fuzzy. Leona's gentle, guiding touches, the smiles she sent her way, the fact that she'd paid for her drinks and how casual she was acting about it all - it left Lux feeling flustered and dizzy. She was sure her face was a perpetual shade of red, and her stammering came out thicker each time Leona stared at her, but she wouldn't have traded it for the world. Being able to curl up with a novel beside Leona? On a couch? In a cafe?
It was almost a date, and that had her girlish screaming with joy.
"I like this place," Leona said, rapping her knuckles on her book. Lux, instead, held her cup with both hands, and casually sipped at her warm chocolate drink. "It's very nice. Quiet, calm, relaxing..."
"I totally get it," Lux replied softly. "I like coming here to just rest and read a book. It's, uhm... fun?"
"It is, yes," Leona hummed. She ran her finger along the spine of her book, and directed a smile at it so fond that Lux felt her heart melt a little bit. "I only read this book when I'm here. I make a little bit at a time, then rinse, repeat. It's a sort of incentive to take time for myself and relax."
The blonde smiled at her. She knew that Leona was just as sweet as she was strong, and while the revelation wasn't anything surprising, hearing about something so romantic made her heart swell. "That's really cute, Leo! It sounds like a great sort of idea."
"I'd like to think so," Leona chuckled amicably. She looked down at her book before setting it across her lap, and returned the full force of her attention back on the red-faced blonde. "But you said you come by here often, yes?"
It wasn't anything close to a pick-up line, but the fact that it sounded like it didn't help Lux's stuttering heart. "Y-yeah! I just study here, though, usually. Sometimes I play -" She stopped. "Do stuff with, like, Taliyah."
Leona cocked her head. "Play?"
"Uh." Lux bit her lip. "Cards, stuff like that."
"Playing cards?"
"Kinda?" Lux shuffled a little nervously. "More like, uh... trading cards...?"
"Ah, yes," Leona replied, nodding twice. "Like, Runeterra?"
The blonde brushed at her hair. "Y-yeah, like that. Exactly that, actually."
She trailed off in a nervous laugh, and Leona simply nodded as she drank from her cup. "I've never played, in truth, but Atreus is a rather avid collector of the Daybreak deck. I'm familiar with it in concept."
It took Lux a moment to figure out who Atreus was, and when the image of the giant brick wall of a man with bronzed skin hit her mind she almost physically recoiled. "...Really?"
"It's quite the mental image, is it not?" Leona laughed. "But, yes. He does. I don't know anything about it, but I've seen it played."
"Ah." Lux twitched her nose and buried her attention in her cup. "It's, you know, an, uh, acquired taste. Card games, and all that."
"Are they?" The athlete shrugged. "I don't know. I've not played, so I can't agree nor disagree."
"Well..." Lux shuffled awkwardly. She knew the words that she should have said, but they came haltingly to her lips. "Y-you could, like, try some time? I - I mean, if Atreus doesn't want to, like, teach you, I could... do that. For you."
"Teach me to play?" Leona asked, smiling down at her. "I'd like that, Lux."
"Okay," she squeaked. "W-we'll... do that? Sometime?"
"Hopefully, yes," the older girl chuckled, and took another sip.
Lux followed suit, her face red and her heart in her throat. She wasn't sure if she'd just arranged another not-date with Leona or if the girl was just placating her, but it didn't feel good for her health. Her heart was pounding a mile a minute, and her face was thoroughly red. As she busied herself with her chocolate distraction, she was aware of Leona's fingers gently tracing along the cover of her book, almost petting it. Odd though it was she supposed it was a habit for her.
"You know," she said at length, "You can read your book if you want to. I don't want to ruin your, uh, habits!"
She punctuated it with a little giggle, but Leona didn't match it. She smiled and brushed a strand of her brilliant red hair behind her ear, and when she spoke, amusement was thick in her voice. "But I like talking to you, Lux. I enjoy hearing your voice."
Lux squeaked inside, and outside, also squeaked. “O-oh! Uh, thank you! I like your voice too - I like talking with you, too!”
Leona brushed at her hair again. “I’m pleased to hear it.”
“Y-yeah. Same.” Lux swallowed thickly.
I am so not cut out for this, she thought.
“I… have an idea, if you’d like to hear it,” Leona offered after a moment, her head inclined ever-so-gently. The sunlight streaming in from the window hit her at just the right angle to make her shine, and Lux was helplessly captivated by it.
“Sure,” she breathed softly. “Anything.”
“We could read together? If you’d like. I’m, ah, quite a ways into it, but I wouldn’t mind starting over for you.” She brushed at her hair. “If you want.”
Lux had no idea what the book was. She had no idea what it was about or what was going on but even then she only shook her head rapidly and breathed out a, “yes, absolutely!”
Smiling, Leona patted the space beside her. “Then, by all means, scooch in.”
With her heart in her throat and her cheeks blazing, Lux did just that. She moved in beside Leona with halting, almost jerky movements, unsure of herself the entire time, and blushed vividly as she got in beside her. Leona, though, was all too happy to pull her in close, setting their sides together and pushing the book into the gap between them.
“Is this okay?” Leona asked her, her voice low and her head far too close for Lux.
“Yeah,” she replied, voice shaky and breathy. “It is.”
“Perfect.”
Lux would have liked to say she concentrated on the book from there, but she missed every other word and confused sentences both frequently and often. Leona’s touch was like fire against her, and even if it was only hips and shoulders touching, it was enough to fill her entire body with heat. Her face hovered so close that she could make out tiny, minuscule freckles and dusting of colour across her smooth, sun-kissed cheeks, and the colour of her lips were almost indulgently bright.
Her eyes were quick, furtive, and glowing, and each time they moved from the book to Lux they seemed to be smiling. She flushed each time, but she didn’t look away - she couldn’t. She was captivated, and had no wish to break the moment. The book was a distant second to what was happening, and as the moments ticked on - as their drinks emptied, were refilled, and emptied again - she snuggled closer and closer into Leo, pressing her small, slender body against her hard-packed frame of muscle.
Lux knew it wasn’t a date, but God did she wish it was. It was all intimate and fuzzy and cozy and left her feeling so warm that she loved it. The way that Leona pressed against her fulfilled every strange fantasy in her body and left her feeling warm, and she loved it. It was everything she could want and more, and all she was doing was snuggling up to her crush, feeling her measured breaths through the intoxicating proximity of their bodies. The only thing that could have made it more perfect was if she had an arm around her shoulders and she was leaning against her shoulder, but that was a little too far, she knew.
Leona didn’t seem to have any problem with the cuddling or closeness, though, and only offered her better angles to read as they sat there, all pleasant and tight and snug. It was comfy, and Lux could want nothing more out of something that started as her falling into a pool through sheer clumsiness. With farm and fuzzy feelings she leaned into it for as long as she dared, as long as Leona offered it, and time ticked on without any breaking the pleasantness of it.
It was a good half-hour later when Leona’s attention was broken by an insistent buzzing on her phone. The first time, she clicked it silent and kept on reading beside Lux. The second, she frowned, but did the same. The third time she let out a low huff, grabbed her phone from her pocket, and stared at the screen for a good five seconds before sighing to herself. She brushed at her hair and shuffled beside Lux, and the smaller blonde bit her lip tentatively.
“Sorry,” Leona apologized. “Diana needs my help with something. Again.” Her phone buzzed in her hand. “Urgently, apparently.”
Lux bit her lip harder. “Oh. Yeah - yeah! Totally, I understand. I can’t, uhm, take up all your time -”
“I would love that,” Leona chuckled as she pulled away, leaving Lux feeling distinctly cold without her body heat. “But Diana is very insistent at the worst of times. I apologize for cutting this short.”
“Hey, we’ve been here for, like, an hour,” Lux said thickly, watching Leo pull away and pack her stuff up. “More time than I should have taken up, you know?”
“Not particularly,” Leona hummed. She packed her book away and tidied her bag. “I like spending time like this, with you. It’s very nice. I promise we’ll finish this sometime too, alright?”
Lux wanted to both avert her gaze out of sheer embarrassment and never stop looking away from Leona’s eyes. “S-sure. Sounds good. Like. Uh. We’ll - we’ll just pick a date. MakeadateofitIguess.”
“Sure.” Leona stood, slung her bag around her shoulder, and smiled. Just smiled, and Lux felt herself stiffen. “See you around, Lux!”
“S-see you,” she said, waving awkwardly.
The moment Leona was out of the doors of the cafe, Lux threw herself down face-first into the warm, Leona-scented pillow that was left behind and groaned.
The weekend hit and went by the same as normal. At least, mostly as normal. Saturday she finished her online classes, tidied up her notebook from the incident with the water, replaced what she needed to and reorganized the rest, and then spent the rest of the day moping around on her couch with nothing but a tub of icecream in hand and a fantasy epic playing on television. With a warm, fuzzy blanket surrounding her and her biggest, baggiest sweatshirt on her back, she just cuddled into the sofa as she tried to shake off the intense feelings of… something she couldn’t quite place.
She was embarrassed about what she’d done, and even though the cafe had been cute as all hell, the fact that Leona had blown her off to go see Diana made her insides feel all weird. Ostensibly, she understood - Diana was her friend and Leona would always help a friend in need - but if she was her girlfriend then it made a lot more awful sense to her. And, at the end of the day, she’d been out with Lux and then left her for someone that she might-or-might-not have been dating, and that left her feeling sad.
It was a mixture of embarrassment and frustration at her own inability to act like a normally functioning human being in front of Leona that left her feeling so out of sorts. Even her brother, dull as he was, noticed the way she was moping around over seemingly nothing, but she blew him off with a wave and a false smile and returned to butterscotch ice cream and clashing swords.
Sunday didn’t go much better. She didn’t leave her room, in fact, when Leona came by from the usual workout. She thought that was how it would remain - her in her room with her big, baggy sweater on, left alone while her brother and her crush did their usual routine and then left. She was too embarrassed to go out there, even if she did have to give her varsity jacket back. The black, red, and white jacket almost haunted her as she stared at it, and the fuzzy feelings it filled her with were tempered out by the raw embarrassment and disappointment at her inability to ask the girl out like she wanted to.
It was ten-to-nine when her brother knocked on her bedroom door. Well past her usual routine and that of her brother, and so she didn’t really think twice as she moved to open the door. Moping and dejected as she was, she wasn’t about to be rude. She was too diligent and kind for that, and her mind, really, was in another place entirely. She felt as if she shouldn’t have been acting all depressed about what was, essentially, a very successful pseudo-date, but it was thoroughly tempered out by the possible-ditching-for-girlfriend thing and it sucked.
Opening the door, she sighed and put on a small smile. “What’s up, Garen-”
Only, it wasn’t Garen. It was Leona staring down at her with concern and mirth, and all Lux could do was stare blankly, her smile frozen and her eyes turning into saucers. She was very much aware of her state of dress, and she could see her state of dress reflected in golden eyes: hair askew and mussed, her face a little smudged with blue ink from where she dozed off against her notes, and her body wrapped up in a hoodie that would have been fit for Leona’s size.
Leona, by comparison, was there in all of her work-out glory, her body bared thanks to her sports-bra-and-skintight-pants combo and her muscles nice and pronounced thanks to the run. She was a gorgeous, fit goddess, and Lux felt her temperature shoot up to be so close to it.
Kill me! She thought.
“L-leo!” She stammered, mouth dry and her eyes glued to toned abs.
“Lux,” Leona said evenly, brows furrowed in concern. “Are you okay? Er, I wanted to see if you were feeling alright. You don’t usually miss out on Sunday breakfast.”
“I’m - uh -” She looked back into her very much girlish and very much nerdish room, and then whipped back to face Leona. “Yes. I’m not… feeling good. Sorry.”
“Oh, you don’t have to apologize to me,” Leona chuckled. “I just… hadn’t realized how odd it was not to see you waiting with breakfast.”
“I know, I’m sorry. I know I usually have it all done for you guys in ti-” She stopped with a sputter, then corrected herself. “Iii-mean, I’m usually up at that time! Making breakfast.”
“I enjoy the overcooking that you do on Sundays,” Leona said with a wink. “And even if it’s totally not for all us, thank you.”
Lux flushed.
“And, well, given your absence, I just wanted to… check up on you? I suppose. Make sure you’re alright.”
“I-I’m okay,” she stammered, voice thick. “I’ll make it up to you next week?”
“That would be lovely,” Leona softly. “I always enjoy our little Sunday routines, even if Garen isn’t so appreciative.”
The small blonde giggled nervously. “Yeah, he’s a bit.... Rough around the edges. A-and, I like it too. The routine.”
Leona nodded. She looked like she was about to say something more, but then licked her lips and nodded again. “Is there anything I can get you? Medicine? Water? Food? Or-”
“N-no, no, I’m good, I’m good,” Lux rushed to say, waving her hands emphatically. “I don’t need anything!”
The athlete stared down at her hands. “You’ve got pen all over yourself, Lux?”
“I - oh.” She stared down at her hands and found that, yes, she did. “I - that’s embarrassing. I’m sorry, I was, uh -”
“Oh,” Leona said knowingly, glancing over Lux’s shoulder and into her embarrassingly-not-mature room. “The notes - right, yes. Were you re-writing all of them?”
“I - no. Yes.” She fidgeted. “Just a little.”
Leona winced. “Sorry. You should have asked me to help - I will help. Let me -”
“Nonono!” Lux threw her hands up. “It’s okay! Really! It’s keeping me busy while I, uh, fight off my… sickness? So, don’t worry about it. You - you made it up to me with the hot chocolate.”
Leona didn’t look reassured. “Well…”
“It’s fine, really.” She tried for a smile. “Really.”
“If you’re sure,” she replied slowly. “I’m not afraid to help, or… spend time with you.”
The way she haltingly said it made Lux’s heart flip and twist at the same time. “Thanks. Same - I… like spending time with you, too! It’s really fun.”
Leona smiled. “Then, we can do that sometime?”
“Yeah.” Lux smiled shyly. Her mind, meanwhile, said ask her to go out for a coffee or something! It’s right there! She opened her mouth to speak the words, but they didn’t come out. She could only settle for a squeaking, “s-sure!”, and winced even as she said the words.
“Right.” Leona brushed her hair behind her ear. “Then, ah, I hope you feel better! And - I’ll see you this week, I hope?”
Lux only nodded, too shaky to manage anything more. She felt like an awkward stick next to Leona, and she was utterly mortified with her appearance, her inability to be coherent, and her silly moping while she was there standing and caring for her like some goddess. She watched as her crush turned away with a wave and began to make her way back down the hall, and the thought that wait, I have her jacket only occurred to her when she’d reached the end of it.
“W-wait, Leo!” she called, and Leona turned.
“Sorry?” She called back. “Did you need something…?”
“Your jacket!” She dashed into her room, tugged it out, and pulled it free. “Before I forget!”
Leona started walking back to her, but there was a perplexed look on her face. “Oh, yeah - but, really, there’s no pressure. I really don’t mind you having it-”
Lux did what seemed right, which was saying, “noit’sfineit’syours -” and tossing it right at Leona.
Why she did it? Lux herself didn’t even know, and when the jacket hit Leona square in the face and sent her head rocking back, the blonde flinched. For a moment, the older girl stood there in mimicry of a coat hook, her jacket slung over her face with the wiggly proclamation of her own name stitched across the back.
Kill me, she concluded.
Sivir approached them almost warily, her footsteps audibly slowing as she noticed the pair of them. Where Quinn raised her hand in greeting, however, Lux just kept on pouting, listlessly staring up at the ceiling of the study center. Her body was folded out in front of her on a multicoloured couch that the brunette Demacian haphazardly piled together out of square pieces of furniture, and her head was laying in her lap. Fingers gently raked through her hair in a reassuring manner that she liked, but the tenderness didn’t help her mood whatsoever.
“Uh..” Sivir started as she came to a stop in front of them. Lux puffed her lips up at the girl staring down at her, but didn’t shift from her position. She kept her head laying flat in Quinn’s lap, and let her fingers rake through the golden mass of her hair as if combing it. “...Hey?”
“Hey,” Quinn replied.
“Hi,” Lux greeted tiredly.
Sivir slid her bag off her shoulder and let it hit the floor with a thump. “What’s wrong? What happened?”
“We’re having a bad day,” Quinn said sympathetically.
Lux groaned.
Sivir sat down beside them almost tentatively. “Do I even want to know?”
Lux shook her head.
“Lux went to the pool last Friday,” Quinn explained. “She, ah, fell into it while talking to Leona.”
Sivir swore. “Shit…”
“Then, she awkwardly managed to get Leona to bring her out for coffee after that? And they spent the rest of the time reading a book together.”
Sivir blinked. “Wha-”
“Then, Leona left Lux because Diana blew up her phone or something,” Quinn continued, and each word made Lux whine and pout a little bit more. “And Lux, feeling depressed about it, didn’t even get out of her room on Sunday, which apparently caused Leona some concern thinking she was sick.”
“Rig-”
“Then-”
“-Another ‘then’?-”
“- Lux here threw Leona’s jacket at her and hit her square in the face. Ran into her room right after.” She patted her lap. “Aaaaand here we are!”
Sivir coughed. “Well, that was a damned rollercoaster.”
“I’m an idiot,” Lux lamented.
“Hey, you got a pseudo-date with your crush!” Quinn said brightly. “So that’s a thing!”
“Plus, she already knows you’re socially inept,” Sivir offered, and Lux blew her tongue out at her.
“I’m so embarrassing, ” Lux sighed, shifting in Quinn’s lap. “I’m embarrassing myself around her all the time. I just - I can’t. ”
“Can’t…?”
She clicked her tongue. “I dunno. Not stutter and act shy. Or… ask her out.” She waved her hands above her, and Quinn huffed as she avoided flailing arms. “And, like - what if she isn’t single? I don’t even wanna know if she’s not. ”
Sivir coughed gently into her hand. “You could just, like… ask someone about that? It’s not that hard to figure out -”
Lux whined. “I can’t even ask her out! You want me to ask others about her relationship?”
“Well, you’re only socially inept around Leona,” Quinn pointed out. “Otherwise, uh, you’re kinda popular? So.”
“I refuse,” Lux pouted.
“Ref- what?” Quinn snorted out a laugh. “That doesn’t even make sense.”
Sivir also laughed. She leaned back and pulled books out of her bag, shuffling through each one in good order before finding the one she needed. She had a strange, almost peculiar look on her face, and as she pulled back, an awkward smile was set on her lips. “You know, I had some good news, but, uh, with Lux so mopey I’m not sure I want to tell you guys.”
“No, please,” said Quinn, “anything to distract me from Sad Lux.”
“Well,” Sivir said, suddenly puffing up like a girl with a purpose, “Someone got herself a cute date to the movies tomorrow.”
Quinn and Lux blinked at her. “Who?”
“I’m going on a date with -”
“ Oh. ” The brunette Demacian nodded. “You meant you got a date -”
“Screw off,” Sivir scoffed. “And, yes, I do. With Kai’Sa.”
Quinn coughed and choked on her own breath while Lux shot straight up with wide eyes. “Whoa, really?!”
“Yes, really,” Sivir declared smugly. “I was, ah -” Her smile wavered. “-.Well, I was kinda sitting down eating lunch. That bench by the gym? That one. Kai’Sa just kinda sat down beside me, right? Asked if she could sit there, I said, ‘yeah, sure’, she sat, I offered her some of my lunch, we ate together for a bit.”
Sivir trailed off as she scratched the back of her head. “Said she’d seen me around a lot, and…”
She trailed off again, then released a sigh. “Fuck, she’s cute, guys. She’s all, like, shy and stuff. I think she was as nervous as I was. Kinda thought she was always… aloof, confidant, that kinda thing, but she’s totally a bundle of nerves. So… I asked her out, she said yes -”
“I literally cannot believe,” Quinn deadpanned, “That you managed that.”
“I did!” Sivir insisted, face red. “I’ve got her number and everything.
“Ohmy gosh, Sivir,” Lux cooed, leaning up and grabbing both of Sivir’s hands in her own. “Congrats! Good job! You got the girl!”
“...You’re making me feel hella awkward right now, Lux.”
Lux shook her head. “Just because I’m hopelessly awkward doesn’t mean you have to be!”
Sivir coughed gently. “....Right…”
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” Quinn stated bluntly. “Bring her here.”
Sivir scoffed. “I'm not a slave driver!”
“Bring her-”
“You’re not meeting her until our, like, third date,” the Shuriman said, waving her hand dismissively. “I don’t trust you people not to scare her off.”
“This is so cute,” Lux gushed, falling right back into Quinn’s lap with enough force to make her huff. “At least one of us has a chance at love…”
Quinn rolled her eyes. “Melodramatic, much?”
Lux sat in the library at a solitary table all by herself, nothing but her books for company. She had three textbooks sprawled out in front of her, one worksheet, one assignment paper, and one big notebook to do her work in. Her favourite gel pen was held loosely in her fingers, tapping against the paperwork insistently. It was a nice ball-point pen with a textured grip and an elegant, refined design; an expensive gift on her sixteenth birthday, and something she loved to have with her at all times. It felt comfortable in her hand, and doing her work felt so much better with it.
Not that she was getting very much work done at all, granted. Though she had her books and her sheets stretched out in front of her and an assignment waiting to be finished, her concentration was thin and her attention kept on lapsing at the worst possible moments. She was meant to be studying, and all she actually did was stop writing, start flicking her pen around in her hand, plop her chin into her palm, and hum to herself as she gazed off into the open air as she thought about things other than her work.
She loved her work and her studying, that was for sure - she loved school in general. She loved working, solving problems, writing, and drawing; it was all fun. Her attention, though, was captivated by the problem that was Leona, and her inability to handle it. As her pent tapped against her most recent diagram of an optical lens she found herself imagining herself curled up next to the bigger girl, reading a book and sharing in her warmth. She bit her lip as a flush of heat ran through her body, and she imagined just how strong Leona would be in more intimate settings - what she would feel like, how it would be…
Then her pen started to drum out a slower beat as her excitement flash-burned and morphed into melancholy as she realized she wasn’t ‘together’ with Leona and that there was a possibility she was currently dating someone that wasn’t herself. The inward thought that, maybe, she didn’t have a chance, and that she couldn’t even muster up the ability to even try for it simply because she couldn’t speak to her without stammering. It was sad, really. Almost pathetic.
She sighed into her hand and set her pen down flat. She tried to bring herself to finish her work or study some more pages, but after a paragraph of either her attention drifted again and rendered her a moping, daydreaming mess of flustered nerves and even more tangled emotions. She was sad and annoyed in one, and she wasn’t sure what she could hope to do about it.
Ask her out, her brain told her.
“As if I could manage that,” her mouth spat back, a giggle on her lips.
“Manage what?” Asked Leona, and Lux’s next breath got stuck in her throat.
Whipping around, she turned her head up and around to find Leona right behind her, peering over her shoulder. She was dressed in a loose-fitting purple sweater and her varsity jacket, highlighting the width of her shoulders and the strength of her arms while also disguising the shape of her torso - but with her hair combed back and set into its usual waves of auburn, she looked gorgeous.
“My.... work!” She said quickly. “Just, uhm, a lot of projects to do!”
Leona threw her head back and laughed. “Understandable! I’m always getting into crunch time and feeling the pressure set in.”
“Yeah,” Lux replied, brushing at her hair. “Something like that.”
Pressure, her mind echoed glumly.
“What are you studying, Lux?” Leona asked, peering down at her diagrams and notes with a cocked head. “This is all rather intricate.”
“O-oh! U-uhm, it’s just… science stuff, nothing interesting,” she said, deflecting and laughing at the same time.
“I doubt you’d be taking it if it wasn’t interesting,” the auburn-haired girl teased, a wry lilt to her words that sent a flush down Lux’s shoulder.
“I mean… yeah.” Lux shuffled and looked down at the page. “This is, uh, optics. Optical engineering, and some mechanical engineering stuff, too.”
“Sounds… difficult,” Leona said at length, eyeing her diagrams with a mixture of curiosity and… something like awe. “Much more difficult than I could manage.”
“It’s just engineering,” Lux laughed, shaking her head and tapping her pen.
“Engineering is hard. My friends complain all the time.” She smiled wryly. “You guys get shorter breaks than we do, too.”
“Yeah,” she giggled. “That’s true. It’s, uh -it can get difficult, sure, but I love it.”
Leona’s smile softened. “You’re fond of this kind of stuff?”
“Oh, yes,” Lux hummed. “I know it’s nerdy and stuff, but it's really interesting. Light is… interesting. There’s just so much to it, you know?”
“I mean, I don’t,” Leona chuckled.
She laughed with her. “Most people don’t! But I find it super interesting. Like, wave-particle duality? Super interesting. And, when you get into the quantum mechanics of it, everything just gets so much more cool. Right? Yout take something as simple as light-” she made a line with her hand “-and then you find that no classical theory fits it because it behaves, at any given time, like two established things, and then you’ve gotta make something totally new for it.”
She waved her hand for emphasis. “Just a traveling wave that can collapse and into something else - But then there are limits to how you can, like, predict that, right? It’s harder to measure one set of information at the same time as another, and there's so much, like, fine-tuning that always leads to fun results.”
She tapped her pen against her page, and traced along the arrows of a diagram that showed how light would funnel and refract through a series of lenses. “And, like, yeah, we’ve known about this stuff for a while, but there’s always something new. It’s like discovering something all over again sometimes - or so I feel. And there are so many applications: lasers and cameras and giant engineering projects like accelerators and it’s just so-”
Lux trailed off with a sigh. “And light is so simple. At the end of the day, you know, visible light is just that, but if you consider the waveform, there are so many other things it counts as. And even if it is just visible light, then you get stuff like - like colour theory! Or…” She picked up her phone “...Refining a camera to get a better, clearer, more vibrant picture! It’s, like, and endless frontier of -”
She turned back to Leona, and it was sort of just then that she remembered she was talking to Leona. Swallowing hard and very suddenly blushing red at her nerd tangent, she put her phone down, clicked her pen, and shrank in her seat. “...And, yeah. I like science.”
Leona was smiling down at her softly. There was a glow in her eyes and a faint praise in her gaze, but it was all dim, subdued, and not clear enough for Lux to think much of it. Still, the warmth of it made her shuffle and bite her lip, and she glanced away awkwardly.
“I’ll say,” Leona said softly, a chuckle buried in her words. “You’re rather enthusiastic about it, huh?”
“A little,” she murmured awkwardly. “I’m, uh, into books, if you haven't noticed…”
“Hey, I’ve noticed,” the girl told her. “And it’s not just because you can’t swim.”
Lux sputtered. “I -”
She held up her hands. “I’m teasing, Lux. You’re far smarter than I, and I can see you’re really passionate. It’s nice.” She paused, and licked her lips. “Cute.”
The blonde flushed a brilliant scarlet and ducked her head. “I… wouldn’t say that… ”
“I would,” Leona said flatly. “I did.”
She bit her lip. “Thank you. I - I mean, I know it’s dense and stuff, but I could… show you stuff? One day. If you wanted. Colour theory, lights and stuff - it’s really awesome if I can get you into the lab.”
“I’d like that.”
“It could be like a -” She stopped, bit her lip, trying to get the words it could be a date? out of her mouth. “It could be like a study. Session. Study session.”
“Well, we don’t take the same courses,” Leona pointed out, and Lux shrank in her seat like the awkward stick she was. “But I’d love to study with you, all the same. Hey, you might even get my grades up!
“You’re a top-mark student,” Lux murmured, eyes glancing left and right.
“Not compared to what you’re pulling off, I’m sure.” Leona offered another bright, almost fond, smile. “Still - invite me any time, Lux, and I’ll be there.”
Of course, her mind told her.
“Sure!” Her mouth said, and she winced in the next moment.
Be bolder! She told herself, teeth nipping on her lip. Just look at her and tell her that you want to take her out on a da-
“Oh, shi - sorry, Lux,” Leona said, eyes suddenly wide and her attention focused on her watch. “I was - I was supposed to be running an errand for - ah, I got a bit sidetracked when I saw you here! Couldn’t resist saying hi, but, uh, I’ve got to run. I’ll - I’ll see you later?”
“Y-yeah, sure!” Lux replied, her smile brighter than she felt, and the flash of teeth that she received from Leona was brighter than anything she could muster up. The wink she got in the next moment sent a hot flash through her body, and she wanted to whimper at the sight of it.
By the time Leona was out of sight, Lux had already slumped back down on the desk and was groaning into her arms.
Ugh, she bemoaned. Good job, Lux. Embarrassing yourself again. You’re never gonna be able to ask her out at this rate..
The backside of the campus was home to the more artistic and esoteric clubs, and it showed. There was a large garden and greenhouse set off to the left in a vivid display, all for the greenery, gardening, and culturing clubs. To the right were sets of neat, shrine-like fields for archery, HEMA, and other open-air and Olympic-style activities. The center was dominated by a bigger, artistic-looking building that she was for calligraphy and stuff of that sort, and it was matched by a much more gothic-looking structure of some unknown series of clubs that could have been ominous or could have been historic in nature.
The paths to the left were hedged in by a slab of a building that looked like a Noxian garrison in design, and of which she knew the history clubs made their home, and across it was a much more elegant bridge of glass and clockwork that housed a series of rooms for science clubs. Matched by the learning center for students to study and use the technological marvels of the University, the area was a sprawling thing of mismatched styles, structures, and brilliantly cultured flowers to tie it all together.
Lux didn't have a single club there. She only sat on the stone bench of Demacian make while admiring Ionian flowers. She had her sketchbook in hand, and with casual, easy-going movements of her wrist, she traced out their shapes, filled them in with shading, and coloured them with the pencils at her side. She held her pencil between her teeth as she put in touches of pink and blue, and pushed other coloured pencils into pockets and sleeves just to keep them all in hand as she worked.
She was, by no means, an artist - but she wasn't a bad drawer, and her artistic talents helped well in her choice of study. It was certainly well-received on the internet, where her cute little doujins for her favourite shows got lots of clicks and likes. Those were for fun, though, and this was for relaxation. She enjoyed the simplicity of being able to draw something cute on a nice, sunny day, doing little more than sketching out pretty flowers, and she found it a nice refresher from strenuous, rigorous studying.
Or, for taking her mind off of things like 'holy shit I'm terrible at talking to pretty girls'.
People passed by her, and on occasion, they waved and greeted her. Irelia, Seraphine, even Rell - they greeted her and she greeted them with her usual preppy style and bright wave, then returned to her work after a few pleasantries and nice words. She always gave them her full attention, but they didn't linger, and she never really broke her concentration. However, when a cool voice cut through her thoughts, she sat ramrod straight and stiffened into a facsimile of her structured, well-defined, and restrictive lifestyle back home in Demacia.
"Luxanna," the voice said- a cool, mature voice, each word intoned and perfectly enunciated such that it made them feel like commands - and her spine stiffened all the more. "You do know you can't eat the pencils, yes?"
It took her a moment to will her body to relax and remind herself she wasn't at a fancy dinner party trying to be a good lady in the presence of royalty. "I know, Ashe! It's just convenient!"
She turned, and this time directed every iota of her concentration on Ashe, scion and future leader of Avarosa. There was no passing attention - there was no way anyone couldn't offer every last bit of their attention to someone like Ashe. She was tall and shapely, with every last curve perfect and her body both tight like a whip and soft with feminine perfection. Her features were sculpted and gorgeous to a degree that few could hope to match, and her eyes shone with deep intelligence.
She was drop-dead gorgeous by every measure, and the aura she radiated was pure authority. People were almost compelled to listen to her, as if she had the magnetism of an ancient Queen. She was also one of Lux's oldest friends; though she was a few years her senior, Ashe often visited Demacia and dined with the Lightshields - and, by extension, the Crownguards. She was friendly, kind, and someone that Lux trusted a great deal.
"I'm sure," Ashe laughed softly. Her piercing blue eyes flicked across Lux's page, and her hand tucked a strand of pure white hair behind her ear. A bow was slung across her arm: a rich harp of wood that was almost as white as her hair and with string that looked almost sharp. Once, Lux had asked Ashe to teach her how to use a bow like she did; she'd subsequently learned that doing her brother's push-up routine was significantly easier than firing an arrow, and that Ashe's arms were built just as much as Vi's. "Not trying to be a beaver, hm?"
Lux giggled. "No? That sounds like an awful animal to be."
"Oh, they have their charm. Probably." She shrugged, smiling. "Very nice sketch, though. I really like it."
"Hm? Oh, thanks!" Lux glanced down
"I find it nice to sit and sketch some flowers. They're cute, and I love Ionian lilies."
"They're far more vibrant than what grows up in the Freljord," Ashe noted, then inclined her head. "If your not too engaged with what you're doing, would you like to walk with me? I've somewhere to be, but we haven't talked in some time."
"Sure!" Lux chirped, quickly pulling all of her pencils out of their haphazard spots and back into her container. "I'm just filling in colour now anyways."
It took her less than a moment to collect her things and pop up beside Ashe. To say that she would have been happy to leave with anyone would have been a lie, but Ashe was Ashe and she couldn't really say no. Beyond friendship, the older girl had that magnetism that made her presence irresistible.
"So," Lux began, "you just got out of practice?"
Ashe adjusted her bow. "Yes. Purely standard stuff, I'm afraid. Even the Olympic training they put me through is so... overwhelmingly average."
Lux smiled. "I don't think anyone else would say that. Like, in the world."
She laughed. "Perhaps." Looking down, she winked at Lux. "Maybe I'm just that good."
"We both know you're that good," Lux giggled. It was true, too; Ashe was insanely good to an almost unnerving degree.
Ashe's strides were longer and more measured than hers, but they both kept pace with one another as they walked down the stone pathway. It never really concerned either her or Ashe that people of their reputation just walked around without any sort of protection - Ashe, at least, was royalty enough to warrant an entire squad of bodyguards. But, then, Lux had also seen her judo-flip people over her shoulder that were twice her size, so she supposed it wasn't needed.
"How are things with you?" Lux asked after a quiet moment, glancing up at the significantly taller girl with interest.
"Much the same as always," Ashe replied, smooth and wry. "Though, there was a rather interesting event at the afterparty last week - ah, for the game, that is."
At that, Lux winced. She was pretty sure she knew what Ashe was referring to - after all, she'd seen the video plastered on the internet and the rumours were thick in the air. "Er, yeah, I'd... heard about that. You, uhm, got into another fight with Sejuani...?"
"Mmm," Ashe hummed. "You saw the video, then?"
"Yeah," Lux replied somewhat awkwardly. "You two were really, uh, going at it? I think you broke her nose."
"I did, actually," Ashe said with a chuckle, and Lux wasn't sure how or why she could sound so amused off of that. She knew that Ashe and Sejuani detested one another immensely, but to take joy in it? "I'll provide context: I was talking to Tryndamere, and Sejuani decided that was an excellent moment to swagger over. She, shall we say, professed her extreme dislike for Tryndamere, then started to pick a fight with me."
Ashe tucked her hair behind her ear as she spoke. "First, verbally. Soon after, physically. She's much stronger, so I broke her nose with my elbow."
Lux smiled awkwardly. "That sounds horrible."
"She was being herself, as always."
"She... really doesn't like you, huh?" Lux offered a sympathetic look. SHe couldn't imagine having such an antagonistic person in her life, or two families so diametrically opposed that their children would hate one another for their ideals.
"On the contrary, apparently," she said, and her lips twisted up with amusement. "We're together now."
"You're - " Lux coughed into her hand, afraid she'd misheard. "B-beg your pardon?"
"I went to the hospital - the one by campus, you know the one - to check in on her, because it was a rather bad break. And, I felt sorry. Brought flowers to be polite, you understand."
"Yeah..."
"I was the only one there," Ashe explained. "The only one , apparently. No one else visited. Sejuani was both surprised and concerned. I apologized, said it was untoward, Sejuani.... sort of said sorry. There was a lot of talking. Apparently, she's the jealous type. Doesn't like Trynadmere because she 'thinks he's bad for me', even if she was totally mistaken that we were together."
Lux blinked. "So... Sej is jealous that you were-but-not with Tryndamere, and she, ah, was being all bitchy because...?"
"Because she didn't think we could be together. Families, and all." Ashe shrugged. "Long story short, we made out in the hospital bed. Went out for coffee the day she was out." Ashe offered a smile. "She's surprisingly sweet when she's not drunk and not bitchy"
Lux blinked. "That sounds like an incredibly violent and dangerous relationship."
Ashe barked out a laugh. "How straightforward! Thank you, Lux. I do not believe there's a concern, though, and even if I lack her strength, I can hold my own. Besides, anger has its uses in certain private conditions, you understand."
"I -"
"The bedroom, dear."
Lux flushed scarlet. "Oh."
The two of them rounded a corner and made their way toward one of the academic buildings.
"So, that was my week," Ashe hummed. "Yours?"
"W-what? Oh. Normal."
Ashe raised a white brow.
Lux fidgeted. “Normal-ish, I guess. There were some… things. But it’s all good, now! Nothing out of the ordinary.”
Ashe stared for a long, cool moment. “...I see.”
Lux smiled and bit her lip. For a moment, her mind parsed out careful thoughts. Ashe knew a lot about things on campus, and as far as she knew, she was friends with Leona - older though she was, Ashe was friends with lots of people. Her words about Sejuani being jealous reminded Lux of her friends telling her to ask one of Leona’s friends if she was dating anyone, and the Avarosan was likely to know.
“Say, Ashe,” Lux started slowly, tentatively, brushing her fingers together. “Can I ask you something?”
“...Yes?” Ashe piqued a brow.
“You wouldn’t happen to know if, like, uh, Leona is, uh, dating someone? Like - like Diana, say?” Lux offered a smile. “You know, just wondering.”
“I would seriously hope not,” Ashe said slowly, amusement thick in her voice. “Given that they’re first cousins.”
“Oh.” Lux nodded. Then, as the words registered, she sputtered loudly. “T-they’re cousins?”
“Yes,” Ashe chuckled. “Oh, Lux. Are you finally getting around to asking her out?”
“I -” Lux’s mind was racing. “They’re - wait, what? Why would I, uhm -”
“Your crush on her is painfully obvious, Lux, please.” Ashe shook her head. “Don’t.”
Lux squeaked. “Really?”
“Yes.” She shook her head. “To my knowledge, she’s not dating anyone. I’d recommend amending that yourself.”
Lux looked off to the side. Flowers decorated the neat rectangle of earth to her left, and she scanned them over with slow deliberation. “That’s easier said than done, Ashe.”
“I understand,” Ashe replied. “But I just did the same to someone I broke the nose of.”
She giggled. “But you’re Ashe. ”
“And you’re Lux,” the white-haired girl replied. She stopped, cocked her head, looked back, then turned. “This is my stop, unfortunately.”
Ashee put her hand on her shoulder. “There’s nothing to be afraid of, Lux. There never is.”
“She could never want to see me again,” she pointed out. “Or… say no.”
“A problem, I’ll admit,” Ashe said thoughtfully. “But neither of which you should be afraid of, I think.”
She sighed. “Yeah…”
“Don’t worry too much about it,” Ashe told her. Her smile was tight, but not less earnest for it. “You’ll be surprised, I think.” She winked. “Talk to you later?”
“Yeah, for sure!” She smiled in return. “Nice to talk to you again!”
“We’ll catch up properly soon,” Ashe said in parting, and with a twist of her body and a swirl of her white hair, she was stepping up and into the building. Lux watched her for all of five seconds before throwing her head back, stared at the sky, and sighed.
Of course Ashe is picking up girls, too, she thought with a sigh. Her enemy, no less. I really am hopeless...
Lux sighed for the fourth time so far. She held her sandwich with one hand and stared at it without a hint of hunger, not at all caring to bite into it and eat. Her mind was miles away, her attention taken up by thoughts of the big, strong, gorgeous girl she was crushing on so hard. She should have felt elated that she was not, in fact, dating her cousin, but she didn’t feel any better about it. She felt frozen, unsure of herself and unable to figure out how to do anything about it.
“C’mon, Lux, don’t be like that!” Quinn sighed, reaching forward to tap her shoulder.
Lux sighed again. She thought about Leona’s big, strong body, the rippling muscle under the skin, and admired it in her mind’s eye. As guilty as it made her feel, she couldn’t stop wondering how it would be like to have such a fit girl pressing down against her, rubbing her muscles all across her smaller body. She wanted to know how her abs would feel under her hands and mouth, and all sorts of other illicit little things that would have made her brother blush.
Sivir flicked her on the nose, and she flinched back. “Hey!”
“Stop daydreaming and eat,” Sivir told her, her voice dry. “Or I’ll eat it for you.”
Glumly, Lux slumped and pushed her sandwich into her mouth. She bit off a chunk with exaggeration and chewed with mechanical, showy movements, as if to satisfy her friend.
“Don’t fuckin’ murder the thing,” Sivir scoffed, and Lux rolled her eyes.
“Don’t be so sad,” Taliyah said as brightly as always. “Now you know she’s not dating anyone! You can ask her out whenever!”
“No, I can’t,” Lux sighed. Her voice was firm and resigned, and her friends could feel it. “I haven’t been able to even get the words out without stumbling like an - an idiot. It was easier to - ah, doesn’t matter.”
“Lux,” Quinn espoused, leaning into the table and patting her shoulder. “C’mon, don’t be like that. You know it’s not that big of a deal -”
“But it is, ” Lux countered. “Like -”
“Yeah, it’s not that hard,” Sivir chimed in.
“Yeah, it is, ” she insisted, putting her food down. “ You were in the same situation as me and you were still able to ask Kai’Sa out!”
Sivir winced. “Well… yeah…”
“And I just keep embarrassing myself and stuttering all the time.” Lux shook her head. “I think I just need to, like, sit back and… chill for a bit-”
“Lux,” Quinn deadpanned, “you haven't even tried. And you still got to go to a cafe with her! You’re not doing anything different from normal!”
“I fell into a pool, threw a jacket at her face, and - and, yeah. ” Lux stared at her food glumly, then pushed it away. “And then I’m still a stuttering mess normally, and she clearly doesn’t want to deal with that. So.”
“You’re being -”
“Guys, don’t worry about it,” Lux said softly. She stood up from her seat, grabbed her back, and pulled it over her shoulder. “It’s okay. There’s no rush, either.”
Her friends stared at her sympathetically. “Lux…”
“It’s fine, it’s fine,” she said, laughing their concern away. “Really, what’s the rush? I’ve been moping for six months; I can mope for another six!”
“That’s not... healthy?” Taliyah said hesitantly.
Lux shrugged. “I’ll see you guys later, okay?”
Sivir looked around. “Wait, you’re not going to eat?”
“Not hungry,” she said simply. Waving her hand, she stepped away from the table. “See ya!”
“Later?”
“Bye?”
“ Lux… ”
She stepped away and made her way toward the doors of the cafeteria. A big, rather impressive place that wasn’t really a cafeteria and more just a really nice place to eat and study in, and she enjoyed spending her time there - but not when her friends were pushing her. She knew they cared and were invested in her love life now, but the lack of one bothered her. She wanted something she found impossible to obtain, and hearing about it was making her want to flop down into a pillow.
Better, she reasoned, to study in quiet for a bit, and cool off.
She neared the double-doors and pushed one open, not really paying attention or looking through the window. And so, as she applied pressure and had it swing, the person on the other side did the opposite and tugged it forward. Lux was immediately sent stumbling forward, slipping against the polished metal and falling right into the hard body on the other side.
She hit a hard, chiseled body with a thump. Her hands fell beside her a moment later, and clutched at a defined, muscled waistline. Her cheek, for a moment, was pressing up against thin cotton and the stiff abs underneath, and just above her head was the curve of a rather impressive bustline. A very familiar and pleasant scent invaded her nose, and every inch of her body stiffened.
“Well,” Leona laughed, “At least you didn’t fall!”
“Oh mygoshI’msosorry! ” She squeaked, pulling back in an instant. Her cheeks blazed red with mortification and her hands waved in front of her in a desperate fit, as if that would somehow erase her embarrassing mistake. “Ididn’trealizeyouwerethere-”
“Lux, slow down,” her crush chuckled, steading her slender body with two hands on her shoulders. “It’s no big deal! It didn’t even hurt.”
“Y-yeah, you’re, uhm - you feel strong. You are strong.” She bit her lip and squeezed her eyes shut. “I’m sorry! Again. Gosh, I’m always doing silly things like that and I should just pay attention but -”
“There’s no need to be flustered, really. It’s no big deal!” Leona flashed her brilliant teeth down at her while brushing red hair behind her ear. She looked amazing, but Lux was too mortified by yet another stupid mistake that she couldn’t concentrate on her giant crush. “It was kinda fun, actually. Not every day a cute girl falls into me!”
“I, uh -” Lux’s breath caught in her throat, and she squeaked. “N-nah, I’m sure that happens to you, like, all the time. Y-you’re - you. ”
“Thank you,” Leona laughed, still smiling. She squeezed her shoulders, and Lux swallowed hard. “Are you okay? You didn’t hurt yourself?”
“No, no,” she quickly said, still swallowing roughly. “You’re, uh…. A good person to land on?”
She winced at her silly words, but Leona giggled at them all the same.
“Pleased to hear it.” She ran her tongue over pink lips and adjusted her purple shirt, and there was a moment of quiet, pregnant pause. “But, uh, I could make it up to you again, if you’d want? I don’t want to keep pushing you into situations like this, and -”
You could take me out, Lux’s mind spat out, fast and quick and furious. Let’s get coffee sometime?
“No, no, no!” She rushed to say instead. “It’s okay! You didn’t do anything wrong! I, uhm, probably owe you… again. You did nothing wrong. You never do anything wrong. I’m the silly person that fell on you!”
“You did fall on me,” Leona giggled, and Lux felt her heart wilt just a little bit. “But… maybe it’s like fate?”
Lux blinked, frozen. “Er - sorry?”
“Actually, I was keeping an eye out for you,” Leona explained. “I didn’t see you in your usual spot, nor the library.”
“Oh, yeah.” She looked aside. “I was, uh - not feeling up to it today.”
Leona frowned. “Are you still ill?”
“No, no!” She said with a halting laugh. “Just.... off, you know?”
“Ah, yes.” She nodded in understanding. “All the same, I’d wanted to ask you something - and here you are, literally falling on me. It’s quite poetic, I think.”
Lux laughed nervously. “I guess?” She tucked her hair behind her ear in the same tick as Leona. “What’s up?”
“Right,” Leona hummed, and her voice was a little lower, almost as if she were musing. “Well, do you know the boardwalk? Down by the bay, a little ways out from here?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah, of course!” She answered, delight filling her words as warm thoughts hit her mind. “That place is super cute! I love going there.”
“Ah, wonderful!” Leona beamed. “Then, would you like to go out there with me? A date, I was thinking.”
“Oh, yeah, that sounds super fun!” Lux gushed, clapping her hands together.
“Really?” Leona let out a sigh as if the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders. “Awesome!”
"Yeah -"
Huh? Lux stiffened in the next heartbeat, her entire body frozen in place, her expression locked in place and her hands stuck mid-clap. Her mind swirled like an office building in the middle of a terrible fire, with employees dashing left and right and not doing anything in particular at all.
“S-sorry,” Lux stammered quickly, her voice tiny and small. “Like, a date- date? Going out together?”
“Yes, I’d like to take you out on a date,” Leona replied patiently. “B-but, if you don’t want to, I understand? We could… just go as friends, if you don’t have any romantic inclination toward me.”
Lux felt a whine build up in her throat. “Nope!”
Leona blinked.
“I mean, no, yes, I would love to go out on a date with you!” Lux nodded so rapidly her hair bounced. “Of course! That sounds really nice! Cute, even!”
Leona looked down, smiled, and brushed at her hair. “I’m glad to hear it! Then, is Friday night okay?”
Lux had class Friday night. Lux also said, “Absolutely! Sounds perfect!”
“Around five, perhaps? I could pick you up and take you there.”
Lux nodded rapidly. “Perfect! That sounds perfect.”
Smiling, Leona inclined her head. She seemed brighter than usual, and appeared entirely happy. “I can text you, if you’re comfortable with giving me your number-”
Before she was done talking, Lux had already thrust her phone forward. She didn’t care that it hit Leona’s hand, and Leo only chuckled as she grabbed it, tapped her way into her contacts, added herself, and texted herself to make sure they had one another on both ends. Smiling, she handed the phone back, and also smiling, Lux pulled the phone to her chest and clutched it.
“See you then?”
“See you then,” Lux hummed, all pleasant and happy and dazed.
She was still in a daze as she let Leona pass her, watched her move to the other end, then stepped away from the door, walked back through the cafeteria, sat down at the table she’d just vacated with her phone clutched against her small chest like a lifeline, grabbed her half-eaten sandwich away from Sivir, and set it in front of her.
She sighed, but this time it was dreamy and pleased.
Her friends stared at her. “...Lux?”
She sighed. “Mhm?”
“You’re back,” Sivir said slowly. “Why are you back?”
“We’re going out to the boardwalk on Friday,” she said, leaning into the table, pushing her chin into her hand, and grabbing her sandwich.
“We’re?”
She sighed. “Leona asked me out there on a date.”
Quinn immediately started to cough out her iced tea, Taliyah pushed her hands to her mouth, and Sivir sputtered loudly.
“What the fuck, ” Sivir hissed.
“Holy shit, ” Quinn gasped.
“Wow!” Taliyah gushed.
Quinn flapped her lips. “How???”
“She asked me, dunno,” Lux said sweetly, slowly biting into her food. “So cute. She was blushing. And giggling. She’s so cute. I’m going out on a date -”
She, too, choked on her food, and pulled back. “Holy smokes I’m going out on date with Leona! I don’t even - ohmy god what am I going to wear what do I do ohmy-”
Sivir was still popping her lips. “That - what -” She shook her head. “That’s a rollercoaster of emotion.”
“Three-sixty right there,” Quinn murmured.
“I have no idea how this has happened,” Taliyah declared, reaching across the table to grab her hands, “but I’ll help you get dressed and stuff for your date!”
“Dude, your style is hoodies, shorts, and hipster stuff,” Sivir noted.
“And your style is punk,” Quinn retorted.
Sivir groaned. “C’mon!”
“Help me,” Lux pleaded, eyes wide. “Prep me, teach me, something - ”
“I’ll do my best!” Taliyah chirped, all bright and earnest. “We’ll make sure this date can’t fail!”
Lux almost believed her.
Leona picked her up at five sharp, and appeared just as nervous and just as eager as Lux was. She was dressed in a tight-fitting purple top that clung to her muscular torso and wore equally close-fitting jeans on the bottom, and it was tied together by her varsity jacket. Her hair was the same as always, but with a more brilliant luster to it than normal, and her face was cleaned up with a gentle amount of make-up around the eyes.
She was hot in every sense of the word. Close-fitting clothing to show off her strong body and a casualness to her attire that was mouth-watering to look at. It wasn’t Lux's first time seeing her in clothing like that, no, but it was all significantly nicer than normal, as if she’d plumbed the depths of her drawers for her best outfit and thrown it on with calculated precision.
Lux, by comparison, was dressed to the best abilities of Taliyah and Quinn. Short skirt, longer stockings, and one of her close-fitting, sleeveless white blouses. She had jewelry on her wrists and a golden necklace around her neck, while her best earrings sparkled beside her face. Blush, liner, and a bit of strawberry lipgloss was applied, all to make sure she really popped for Leona. She wanted to look good - her best - because she needed to impress her. She wanted to. She treated it like her only chance to get into her heart, and went all-out.
“You look great,” Leona had said when Lux stepped outside. “Really cute, Lux.”
“Thanks!” She had beamed, eyes raking over Leona in turn and feeling her insides get all mushy at the sight of such a built, well-dressed girl. “You, too! Really, really nice, Leo.”
The shy but bold grin she’d gotten was delightful, and the flowers - a few lilies - thrust toward her in the next moment left her blushing red. Lux had wanted to swoon, because of course Leona was the type to buy her flowers on the first date; and she kept them clutched to her chest as the redhead guided her along, offering her arm so that she could loop her own through it. The simple touch of bodies and the strength of the bicep she was holding onto left her flushing all the harder, and every bit of her was jumping for joy.
Sure, there was a faint sense of disbelief lingering over every action and thought; she could hardly believe that she was actually there, arm in arm with Leona and going on a date, but she didn't let that keep her down. She pushed it aside as she bathed in Leona's proximity, indulging in something she'd thought was totally out of reach.
It did mean that she forgot to realize just how far the boardwalk was from the standard dorms, and upon realizing that Leona had to walk twice the distance to pick her up and walk her over, she felt bad.
“I could have come to you,” she’d chirped, but Leona only shook her head.
“I’m taking you out,” she chuckled, offering her a grin, “so I have to pick you up. Besides, more time for us to walk and talk, yes?”
“Yeah,” she’d breathed dreamily, and let herself bring herself closer to her arm. “That sounds really nice…”
The campus wasn’t anywhere close to silent at that time of the day - or any time of the day, really, but Lux wasn't focused on anything other than Leona. She held onto the offered arm as if it were her lifeline and gazed up at the girl with fond, somewhat disbelieving eyes, not quite understanding that she was genuinely on a date with her. It was surreal, but there was no moment of ‘gotcha!’ or some round-about way of pulling a fast one on her. It was very much real, very much grounded, and the redhead happily talked with her as they walked along.
“Thanks for coming out with me,” Leona said once they cleared the end of the campus and moved down to the roads that lead to the boardwalk - just twenty minutes of walking, and then they’d be there. The sky wasn’t quite so sunny as Lux would have liked it to be, but the somewhat darker clouds didn’t bother her when her Targonian date looked so radiant. “I wasn’t sure you’d want to, you know.”
“Of course I’d want to,” she said emphatically, squeezing her arm in her own and internally squealing at just how hard it was. Lux didn’t particularly like beefy people like her brother, but Leona’s size was just perfect for her. The muscles left her feeling all excited inside, and she adored it. “I’m actually really happy that you asked me out!”
“Really?”
“Really,” she smiled. “I… wanted to ask you out, actually.”
“So did I,” Leona laughed. “I mean, I did! But I was trying to find a good way to ask you out earlier. I just wasn’t… bold enough, and it came out flat.”
Oh. Lux swallowed hard. “Trust me, I know all about that…”
“I’ll make up for lost time, though,” the redhead assured her, winking down in a way that had Lux wanting to bite her lip.
“Please, do,” Lux breathed, happy and content.
The boardwalk was exactly what any boardwalk was meant to be, just fancier and larger as befitted the University's wealth and stature. A long, wide road and a high incline of elegant white stone and marble lining, overlooking the large beachfront of the intercontinental sea that stretched across Valoran. The sands were almost white with how clean they were, and the water sparkled a brilliant turquoise. It was a gorgeous sight to walk across, and it stretched out for nearly a kilometer to either end - a massive stretch of beauty, lined with gorgeous trees with pink leaves pulled straight from Ionia and tiles inlaid with Ixaocan gold.
People walked up and down the boardwalk, and more than one couple could be seen with hands linked and arms intertwined - much like Lux herself, to her glee. There was plenty to do, too, making it a nice place to just hang out in. Stores lined the end closest to the campus, flashing brands and franchises that people could only find in their respective nations. Stalls crowded along the boardwalk itself, ranging from simple food stands to more playful games such as beanbag tosses and aim-tests to win prizes. It was almost like a fair, and silly as it might have been, Lux adored it.
“Beautiful,” Leona said. “I always love this place.”
“Same,” Lux gushed, smiling softly up at her. “Very beautiful.”
“Would you like to take a walk, or play a few games?” Leona pulled on her arm gently. “I could win you some prizes?”
“Or,” Lux chirped, “I could win you some prizes.”
“Or that,” Leona laughed. “If you think you’re up for it.”
Lux cocked her chin up. “Of course I am! Crownguards never lose, Leona.”
“Either way we’re winning,” she snorted, “but, sure.”
The first game they tackled was a simple thing where all they had to do was throw little beanbags into slots and get the higher scores - easy, simple, and one that Lux tackled with a huff and a cocky tilt to her chin. It was a want to impress and to please that had her acting so confidently, and she clutched the squishy little projectiles with an eager hand. She tossed them with smooth, deft flicks of her wrist, sinking them into some of the higher-pointed holes with just enough precision to be noticeable.
First one, then two, then three, earning her a remarkable amount of points for the money they’d put in. With a flick of her lips and a little chirp she pushed her beanbags over to Leona, and slid a few coins toward the tender of the stall.
“I’m supposed to be treating you,” Leona said dryly, eyebrow raised.
“Your turn is on me,” Lux replied, letting herself feel a bit of confidence for once. “Try your best shot, Leo!”
“I’ll see if I can do better than you,” she chuckled, and Lux’s confidence was easily outmatched by her own. Honestly, Lux wasn’t even sure why she thought she could do better than Leona, because in just a few seconds she sank three perfect shots into the topmost hole, maxing out her score then and there and only improving upon it in the next few. Lux was flapping her lips when Leona was pulling out a prize - a phone keychain of a Poro - from an offered case, and only laughed at her expression as they started to move back along.
“Sorry!” She said, leaning in beside her. “Should I have let you win?”
“Yes!” Lux whined, gently slapping her shoulder. Her pout transitioned into a little smile, though, as she clipped the Poro-keychain to her phone, and watched it sway. “Seriously, though, no. Don’t have to do stuff like that with me. If I win, I win.”
“Admirable.” Leona’s voice was soft, gentle, and she stared down at Lux with fondness. “I like that.”
Lux ducked her head. “I… like that, too.”
Leona licked her lips. “Would it be too old to say that I like you, too?”
Lux swallowed thickly. “Not at all. In fact, I think I’d encourage it.”
Leona smiled. “I like you, too.”
“Same,” Lux whispered, gently biting her lip and shyly looking at her.
They walked along the boardwalk side by side, but their arms were no longer linked. They’d taken them away when they’d started tossing beanbags, but to Lux, that only left a golden opportunity to go for more. Shyly and tentatively she slid her hand down and brushed her fingers against the back of Leona’s bigger, rougher hand, and carefully tried to reach around and slip into her palm.
It was an awkward thing to try when they were walking, but Leona turned her hand to offer her palm. Lux internally squealed as she slipped their palms together and wrapped fingers against one another in a lock, successfully managing to hold hands with her crush for the first time. The smile she got from Leona in the next moment made it all the more worth it, and she returned one of her own.
The next game was even more simple than the last: a simple river of rubber ducks floating along, and they had to pick one at random and see what it offered them. A simple thing of chance and luck and deftness, and where Leona came up with a dud, Lux pulled free a high-winner - something that didn’t mean too much when fuzzy little Poro-shaped animal was thrust at her - but she took it with a smile all the same. Leona congratulated her and knocked their shoulders together, providing a bit of warmth that had tingles running along her spine.
Through it all, their hands didn’t part. In fact, Leona didn’t let go as they walked along the boardwalk, moving from stall to stall and event to event with their hands firmly clasped. Bodies brushed frequently from the proximity, and each touch sent flares of heat along Lux’s body. Leona looked devastatingly attractive: tall, muscular, gorgeous beyond measure, and mature; she was a walking wet dream for a girl like herself, and she was on a date with her.
She couldn't stop screaming internally at the idea that she and Leona were on a date, of all things. Two of them, together, holding hands, touching and brushing and playing silly games together for silly prizes and they just loved it. Leona laughed, giggled, even blushed, and for all of her reactions, Lux’s were far more apparent. She felt all warm and fuzzy inside, and her desire for Leona only grew the longer they walked together along the stretch of beachside pathway, admiring the sights and smells and things to do.
The sky darkened steadily as they moved along, but neither paid attention to it. When Leona asked if she wanted to share a funnel cake with her, she’d excitedly agreed - and was subsequently left blushing as Leona, refusing to relinquish their shared, linked hands, offered to feed her; small bits pushed into her mouth, and Lux happily ate from her fingers. As silly and cheesy as it was, she adored the simplicity of it.
When Leona purred out a, “you’ve got ice cream on your nose,” and brushed it aside with her thumb, a powerful shiver had run through her. When she leaned in just a fraction and let her stare into her golden eyes, she was struck with the urge to cross the distance and kiss her.
“Thanks,” was what she’d said instead, unwilling to go too far - even if she really wanted to.
They walked along hand in hand, eating, joking, playing games, and softly chatting. They weren’t the only couple to do it, but as far as Lux was concerned, they were the only ones there. Every act, every brush, filled her with elation, her deepest fantasies realized in one fell swoop, and even just forty minutes in she was feeling as if it was the best date she’d ever seen in her entire life. It was something she never wanted to end, and she imagined that nothing could make it go wrong.
Unfortunately, things did go wrong. The darkened sky made more sense when rainclouds boiled overhead, and as the first cracks of lighting stitched across the sky, rain started to fall. It fell with sudden and quick ferocity, slashing down in hard, fat droplets that smacked into the ground and hit them like hail. The first few had them gasp and giggle nervously, but as the rainfall turned into a sudden downpour, they had no choice but to seek shelter - much like everyone else on the boardwalk, in fact, leading them to rushing down the white stone pathways and back the way they came.
“Should we hide in one of the stores?” She shouted up at Leona, who was hastily tugging her along.
“This looks bad,” Leona grunted, pulling her jacket off and slinging it above their heads as an impromptu umbrella. “I think we should just head back, yes?”
She bit her lip. “The date?”
“We can do it again - or, watch a movie?” Leona sounded hopeful, and Lux couldn’t help but not along with it.
“Sure, but -”
“My place is closer?”
She blushed, but nodded all the same. “Totally.”
They dashed across the boardwalk at Leona’s pace, and ran along the streets toward the campus. Students and people were filing into stores and buildings to get out of the sudden rainstorm, but as it thickened with each passing moment, as the skies darkened and thunder lashed across it like an angry god, it was increasingly clear it wasn’t a passing storm. It would be long and lengthy, and they’d like to be rained in for the next hour.
Leona didn’t even huff as she ran, but Lux certainly was. It was a faster pace than she was used to, and as the ground got slicker and slicker with water, she almost tripped - but Leona wrapped an arm around her and kept her steady, murmuring a soft, “I’ve got you” into her ear that sent her into shivers. She glanced up at her too-close face with awe, and bit her lip to suppress the deep ache inside of her.
“Your jacket,” she whined as they crossed into the campus, making the twenty-minute walk into an eight-minute run. “It’s getting ruined.”
“It’s fine, it’ll clean,” Leona scoffed. “Worth it, for you.”
She blushed. “I doubt that.”
“I don’t,” she replied, then offered a blushing smile. “You’re always worth it, Lux.”
She couldn’t really respond to that - she was blushing too hard. She was blushing all the way up to Leona’s dorm, cutting through the Targonian sections and straight toward hers. It was a good ten more minutes away from Lux’s home at their run, and she knew they could have run a bit further to make it, but she didn’t want to. She was totally fine with it, and only sighed as they broke out of the rain, went indoors, and crashed through Leona’s door in a huff of limbs.
“I’m so stupid, ” Leona instantly lamented, throwing her jacket on a hook and ruffling her wet hair. “I should have checked the weather - ”
“It’s fine!” Lux protested. “I could have done it, too! And, like, I had classes today, so I could have pushed this to tomorrow and we would have been totally fine -”
Leona stared at her. “...You cut classes just to go on a date with me?”
The blonde shuffled and brushed at her own wet hair. They were both thoroughly soaked, with hair matted down and clothes sticking to their bodies. Leona’s chiseled torso was left perfectly outlined by her clothing, with each ab pressed against the purple cloth in a way that left Lux feeling weak in the knees. She herself was wet from head to toe, with her skirt limp and her blouse tight around her slender waistline, making her feel uncomfortable.
“Yes,” she replied. “I really wanted to go out with you.”
Leona stared at her for a long, tender moment, and stepped in. They were both right at the door of her home, and given that it was just a dorm room, there wasn’t that much room - barely a meter between them already, and now Lux felt almost crowded by the athlete’s bigger, broader body. She loved it, though, and her eyes raked along her defined, waterlogged torso with desire.
“Can I tell you something?” Leona asked her, her voice thick. “A secret?”
Lux swallowed hard. “Yeah. Of course.”
“I’d wanted to…” She licked her lips. "I've always wanted to ask you out," she confessed. "I was just... not sure because I'm friends with your brother. I'm still not sure, in that I don't want to be 'that girl' , you know? But..." She licked her lips again. "You're too adorable. You're smart, and cute, and - and everything I could want in a girl."
Lux shivered under her gaze. Her golden eyes were warm, almost smouldering, and it left her feeling hot and prickly despite her wet clothing. Just standing there they were making a puddle on the floor, but neither cared.
"I really like you, too," she said softly, looking up at her with fond eyes. "I've had a crush on you for as long as you've been coming over. It's... why I was always there on Sundays, waiting for you. You're so... attractive. Hot. Gorgeous. Funny. I wanted to do anything I could to be with you."
"Why didn't you?" Leona breathed.
"My brother's friend," she said with a smile. "You're older, and I'm a little twig -"
"-You are beautiful, Lux."
"And I was too shy," she finished, flushing. "And I don't want to be anymore."
"You don't have to be," Leona said, her voice thicker, lower, and with more emotion. Her hand rose up tentatively to cup her chin, and her touch cut through the wetness of her skin to leave her hot. "Can I kiss you, Lux?"
"Please," she all but begged, and Leona's head lowered toward her own.
It was Lux's first kiss, but it wasn't Leona's. There was no awkward clashing of noses, smacking of teeth, or knocking of foreheads. She was skilled in her movements, and easily tipped her chin up and pushed their mouths together. The simple touch of their mouths was enough to send sparks through Lux's body and down into her core in an almost violent wave, and it made her moan right then and there. It was a low, pleased sound, indicating a desire for more.
Leona easily and effortlessly pressed in, slipping mouths together like puzzle pieces and locking them firmly. She didn't extend the kiss into anything hot and heavy, and her hand only tilted her chin up, but the simple touch of their lips was all Lux could have wanted. She needed nothing more, and the taste of Leona, the warmth of her mouth and the feeling of her lips, was knee-weakening and groan-inducing. It was soft and squishy, but there was a firmness behind it that had a whine built in her throat and her fingers clenching into her palms with a desire for action.
She pressed her hands against Leona's waistline, and Leona responded by wrapping a stronger arm around her back and pulling her in flush. Their wet fronts pressed together, with Leona’s hard abs grinding right through both wet clothes to slide against her smooth tummy. Her neck had to crane down to reach her, but the height disparity only had Lux's insides melting all the more. She loved everything about Leona, and being able to press up against her only made her want more.
It was like a fire inside of her, stoked by the touch of her lips and inflamed by the press of her body. She groaned into her mouth as she was kissed so tenderly and passionately, and mewled as the kiss lingered. Her fingers scratched at the bare skin revealed by Leo's riding shirt, and she delighted in the feeling of hard, muscled flanks and the chiseled lines at her front. She pressed in against the older girl as her arm tightened against her back and a deeper, more guttural groan escaped more mature lips, and shivered against it.
Leona pressed down a little harder, a little more eagerly. She hooked Lux in against her, and the little blonde melted into her embrace. Muscles pressed against her front just as much as wet, clinging cloth, and the hardness delighted her as much as soft, kissing lips. She lost herself in her arms and her taste, and delighted in it more than she could possibly understand. Her insides got warmer and her passions burned hotter as it lingered, and she loved it.
When Leona swiped at her bottom lip with her tongue, she let out a deeper, more aroused moan. She pressed in more firmly still, and felt Leona's chest bump against her. Hips rolled instinctively, and a hard bulge locked away inside of tight skinny jeans shoved against her smooth thigh. The water-soaked fabric outlined it rather well, and at the first sign of friction it pressed down against her hungrily- just as hungrily as kissing lips and the swiping tongue, which sent Lux into little mewls.
When she moaned louder, when her hands began to pull at Leona's shirt, lifting it up from the front and showing off the first row of her abs, and as her leg pushed against the bulge in her pants, Leona's eyes snapped open. She pulled back in an instant, reigning herself in and smacking her mouth together with something like concern.
"Sorry," she panted. "I'm just - I couldn't help myself. Sorry."
"I don't - " Lux shook her head, similarly panting. Her face was flushed and her mouth was tingling, and all she knew was that she wanted more. "I liked it. It's okay, Leona - trust me."
"I shouldn't - we don't have to go fast. I don't want to rush anything with you." Leona visibly swallowed. "I - we're soaking wet, anyways. We should get out of these clothes."
"Yeah," Lux replied, but her voice was uncharacteristically low, almost husky. "We should."
She pulled at the hemline of Leona's shirt, slowly tugging it up her washboard stomach. "Let me help you with that?"
Leona released a shaky sigh. "I don't - we don't have to -"
"I want to," Lux breathed, her entire body lowering. She pulled at her shirt more and more, revealing her abs in all their muscled glory - and Lux simply couldn't resist. "Please?"
Leona let out a shaky sigh. "We haven't even had our first date yet."
"We will," Lux promised, lowering down.
"We will," Leona repeated, and bit her lip as she stared down at Lux.
She did nothing but stare as she, still soaking wet, had her waterlogged shirt peeled off of her by the inch. It took effort to peel it away from her skin, and Lux had to really work it off. It was stuck fast to the bumpy ridges of her stomach and her thick waistline, and she struggled to pull it away from the skin - but each revealed center had her breath hike and her eyes widen in pure awe. She loved the sight of her strong, muscled stomach, and she lowered herself to her knees with a lustful breath.
As she pulled the shirt up to Leona’s plump chest, her face descended to the top of her washboard abs. They were thick, bumpy lines of definition, and looking at them left her feeling warm and flushed; and she couldn’t wait one second to press herself down. She had little idea of what she was actually doing, but she eagerly pressed her mouth against the top of Leona’s defined stomach with little more than a hot, eager breath. Leona’s breath hiked as her mouth touched down, and she did nothing but fidget.
She let Lux do what she wanted at her pace, and Lux loved that almost as much as she loved the touch of her abs. Her hands pushed the shirt above her head and felt water drop between her clenching fingers as her mouth dove down, pressing a hot kiss against the hardness of her abs. She pushed her lips against the hard, bumpy mountain, and groaned softly against her skin. She squished her lips against the stiffness, adoring the way it made her mouth bend with such ease, given its rock-hardness.
She slid her mouth down with a hot breath, moving her soft lips against the hard ridges, high hills and low valleys of her abs. Moving entirely on instinct, she pressed a kiss against the first defined bump in reach, then the next, then the next, relishing in the way that her face bumped against it as she moved down. She felt not an ounce of shame in pressing hot, heavy kisses against Leona’s skin, not at all minding that she was, essentially, making out with the fit girl’s abs as if she’d never seen a muscular person in her entire life. It was exactly what she wanted, and it satiated the deep desires that had always had her wondering just how her abs would feel.
Lux pushed her shirt up as best as she could, but stripping Leona was a distant second to worshipping her abs. Her hands moved down with a soft tremble, and fluttering fingers pressed into the hardness of her stomach in the next moment - roving over the defined bumps with twitches and presses, diving down to see just how hard she was and delighting in what she felt. Her fingers scratched and scrabbled at the chiseled lines as if rock-climbing and her palms pressed down and applied pressure, but her stomach was hard and unyielding. It was like iron, and the Demacian adored it. It felt better than she could have ever imagined, and she planted kiss after kiss along her abs with pure and loving reverence.
“So hot,” She whined into her skin, her mouth pausing at her navel. She kissed at it tenderly before pulling down further still, slipping her lips against her abs as if to suckle on them. Her skin was wet with rainwater, but she didn’t care - she kissed her with loving intensity, doing what she’d dreamed of since she’d first seen Leona’s amazing body. “So hard. ”
Lux's mouth moved down her abs, kissing and plucking at the rock-hard skin with a low purr of breath. She groaned at the touch of them, shivering as her fingers felt out the bumps and ridges, moving down with self-satisfied glee. Leona's breathing came out in heavy little hisses as she watched her work, and as Lux's eyes flicked up to make contact with Leona's past the washboard of her stomach and the curve of her breasts, a shiver ran through her spine.
Her palms pressed down and ran along her stomach, and she adored the bumpy, rocky feeling. Her mouth began to kiss at the firm lines of her pelvis as her fingertips traced along her defined obliques, and every lewd part of Lux shivered together. A hotter, hungrier breath left her lips as her hands hit water-soaked pants, and as nails scratched and curled into the fabric, Leona's breath hiked. Lux gently applied pressure, testing the strength of the waistband as her mouth nuzzled into the base of her abs with lustful glee. She slipped along, pulling at her fly, plucking a button and drawing down a zipper, and -
"Lux," Leona groaned, and Lux's blue eyes flicked back up. "We shouldn't -"
"I want to," Lux insisted, pulling the zipper down. The bulge in her jeans looked monstrous from up close, and that sent even more delight rushing through her chest. Leona was just too hot for her to handle, and she wanted all of it.
"I mean," she explained, "You're wet. I'm wet. We're soaked, and you can't - not while you're wet. I'm not having you go home with a cold."
Lux released a hot breath. "I don't have to go home?"
Leona let out a breathy chuckle. "You know what I mean. You're soaking wet - there's a puddle underneath you."
Lux ran her to gue over her teeth. "You have a shower?"
The redhead nibbled on her lower lip. "Yes."
"Is it big enough for us both?" She asked, staring up at Leona from her kneeling position, and Leona let out a low growl.
"Yes," she husked. Lux knew and understood that the girl was exceedingly kind-hearted and had remarkable self-control, but she supposed that everyone had their limits and certain buttons that could be pressed to thoroughly undo them - and whatever Lux was doing was most certainly that.
She reached down in a heartbeat and hooked her arms under Lux's. It was sudden, quick, and brief, and then all Lux knew was that she was being hauled up like a toy. Her weight was nothing next to Leona's strength, and as she squeaked out her surprise, she was lifted up into Leona's arms with all the ease of picking up a kitten. She was hauled all the way up into the air until she, for once, was taller than Leona, staring down at her with her wide eyes brimming with emotion.
"Hi," she squeaked down at her, wrapping her slender arms around her neck. Legs kicked up to wrap around her waist, and she shivered as arms circled her back and cupped her ass.
"Hey," Leona breathed, adjusting her and pulling back from the doorway.
"You're strong," she cooed, staring down into golden eyes with undisguised adoration.
"You're cute," Leona replied, stepping out of her shoes as if she'd done it a thousand times before and carrying Lux down the hallway with marvellous ease. Lux, too, kicked off her shoes as best as she could, all as she giggled at Leona's cheesy words.
"Thank you," she chirped, leaning down.
Their lips met again as Leona carried her through the shallow hallway, past the living area - bed, study area, and living room in one - and into an adjacent bathroom. It was nowhere near as impressive as Lux's home, and while it was better than the standard dorms, it was still very much a small dorm room. She didn't care, though. She lost herself in the second kiss, adoring the feeling of lips against her own and the taste of her crush's mouth. Her lips were chapped compared to Lux's, but even then, they slid together like silk on silk and with a warmth that was indulgent.
Leona's arms were strong around her body, and kept her firmly supported as she was pushed into the bathroom. She managed it with ease, showing not an ounce of difficulty with her weight, and the casual application of strength had her insides twisting and turning and wettening all at once. The touch of strong hands was amazing, and the power of her muscles was incredible. She loved the thought of being picked up and carried around so easily, and she hummed her approval into the touch of their mouths and the lock of their lips.
Leona set her down on the countertop, but she kept on kissing her. She sighed into her mouth and rolled her head to lock their lips together more efficiently, and one of her hands left Lux's waist to start plucking at the buttons of her blouse. She was stripping her out of her wet clothing, and Lux, like a girl that only then realized she was in a race, flung her hands out, connected with the older girl's hips with a smack, and then started to tug her jeans down.
For all their efficiency, both awkwardly peeled off wet clothing between kisses - but sooner rather than later, Leona had Lux shrugging her damp blouse away from her slender torso, leaving her modest chest in nothing but a slim baby-blue bra. At the same time, Leona's jeans were clumsily extracted from her limbs in kicking fits. Her underwear was just as quickly pulled down by Lux's eager fingers, and the bulge that she'd felt earlier was sent springing into view like a whip.
It was a long, thick cock, not quite yet at its full mast but even then cresting seven inches in its partially-hardened state. The skin was the same colour as the rest of Leona and it perversely looked just as strong, with a width to it that was positively jaw-dropping and gasp-inducing. She squeaked to see it, and her fingers tentatively wrapped around it - but she wasn't quite able to focus both on it and the kiss, and so it was awkward, clumsy. Leona groaned at her touch all the same, and all the more eagerly pulled at Lux's skirt and bra, pulling one thing off, then the other, all with clearly practiced finesse.
Leona pulled away as her hands cupped Lux's small breasts. Each was just more than a handful, simple, modest B-cups, but Leona didn't seem to mind or care about her smaller size. She gently hefted them up with her strong hands and pushed rough thumbs into her pink nipples, drawing a gasp and a squeak of pleasure. The blonde's own hand tightened around the cock she so awkwardly held, and her brain swirled at the realization that she couldn't wrap her fingers all the way around it.
"You're so beautiful, Lux," Leona told her, gently kneading her soft breasts.
"You're so -" Lux swallowed, finding that words failed her. "You're so hot. You're so - so big."
“Let me know if it’s too much,” the older girl whispered, her hands twisting and tugging at her shirt. Lux’s words were taken away from her as the purple fabric was tugged up and over Leona’s head in a cascade of damp red hair and her sport’s bra was flashed to her eyes - no more revealing than her workout attire, but it was damp and wet and absolutely clinging to her above-average chest. Lux squeaked to see it, and as Leona pulled her sports bra off without any sort of ceremony, her breath hiked in her throat.
Large mounds of sun-kissed breastflesh bounced free oh-so-gently, the firm flesh rolling to a stop in moments. They were large, and even if they weren’t close to the size of others around campus, she was above an average C-cup in a wholly delightful way . They might well have been D’s, but Lux didn’t really know - she just admired, and she loved what she was admiring. Her free hand rose up to press against the underside of a soft breast, and admired the firmness that was a match to the rest of her strong body. The heavy tit squished just a fraction against her palm as she tried to lift it and found herself wholly incapable of doing so, much to her delight.
“Lux,” Leona husked, and leaned in for another kiss. She captured her lips in her own as she shuffled herself free of the rest of her clothing, then did the exact same thing for Lux. Stockings were pulled off of her shapely legs, her undergarments were tugged, and the clips in her hair were hastily removed. Lux mewled against her, her soaking wet body still very much warm deep inside. She loved the way her strong hands touched her ample hips and held her on the sink, and she liked the way her mouth felt against her own; she wanted nothing more, really, than to just curl up against Leona and really feel her.
Hands grabbed her, held her, and picked her right up. She moaned into Leona’s mouth as she was carried right over and into the shower like a doll, her entire slender body easily handled by the redhead’s awesome strength. Her cool, sticky body was set right down on her feet, but she immediately pushed herself up onto the tips of her toes to keep on locking lips with the Targonian girl. An arm reached up above her, showing the flex of a bicep, and a breast bounced just above her head.
She sighed against Leona, her hand trying to pull at her thick, throbbing cock, and her other hand resting against her stomach. She felt her abs and pulled at the massive shaft of girldick with awe and excitement, her entire body tingling with rushing pleasure at the thought of what she was doing and who she was doing. She felt nothing but adoration and admiration for the powerful young woman, and wanted to please her in every which way she could possibly manage for her.
The shower turned on with a deft flick of Leona’s wrist. Hot, warm water started to rain down on them in a much more soothing rhythm than before, and a tremble escaped Lux as warmth coated her skin. She’d be so distracted she hadn’t realized how cold she really was, and now that the heat slid off her skin in waves she felt satisfaction flood her. It was almost painfully warm, such was the chill clinging to her skin; but she adored it just as much as she adored Leona, and she appreciated the care with which she was handled.
“You’re too good to me,” she whispered up at her, and Leona glanced down with emotion-filled eyes.
“I’m trying to give you what you deserve,” she said in return, her voice still thick. “I don’t want you to get cold, anyways.”
“Thank you,” she breathed, her hand still pulling at Leona’s cock. It was an awkward, hesitant movement, but one that she wanted to do oh-so-badly. It was thick and throbbing against her smooth palm and hard against her fingers, and though she’d never really had a lewd thought before, she couldn’t think of anything better than getting down on her knees for such a woman. “So much. I wanna - I wanna show you how thankful I am, ok?”
Leona swallowed. “Okay.”
The moment Lux got her approval, she was dropping down onto her knees in front of her. She wanted her permission, and to hear the words leave her lips was like music to her ears. She wanted to please her and she wanted Leona to want it, as if all of that together would show her how much she adored her. She didn’t hesitate to show that; not as her mouth kissed against the hardness of her abs, nor as her hand pulled at the thick, swelling log of her dick, pulling at stiff meat in a way she’d never really managed before.
It all felt new to her. Leona was bigger than she could have expected, of a size that was blush-inducing and awe-inspiring, and she wanted to tackle that just as much as she wanted to admire it. She lowered herself down slowly, though, taking her time, pressing kisses against abs that were soon coated with the warm water from above. It ran through the channels of her stomach and along the contours of her muscles before making them shine, and being able to squish her lips against it all was perversely delightful.
She moved steadily toward her cock, taking her time but not lingering in any one place. As she neared it her hand cupped the underside and tried to heft it up, only for it to make her wrist ache under its weight. It was a big, thick dick, now fully swollen out to an eye-watering nine inches, and she swallowed thickly as her head was brought into line with the throbbing slab. She let out a hot breath as the rain hammered down from above, warming her skin and ricocheting against the floor of the shower, while eyes focused firmly on the tremendous shaft.
“So big,” she said softly, her mouth just a few inches away. Her blue eyes watched it intently, seeing the way the stiff flesh only barely moved as fingers tugged and pulled. “You’re amazing, Leo.”
“Thank you,” she breathed, then bit her lip.
She did nothing but watch as Lux’s blonde head moved against her cock and pressed a single, hot kiss against the side of her shaft. Her breath groaned out at the gentle contact, and Lux, feeling hot and warm inside, pushed her lips against the hardness of her throbbing flank with lustful vigour. She wasn’t a lewd girl by nature and her experiences were… slim, to say the least, and she’d never wanted to do anything lewd before Leona. Now, Leona occupied all of her thoughts and fantasies, both present and future, and she wanted to do so much with her that it tore at her heart.
Now she could, and she didn’t want to hold back. She didn’t want to be the blushing, squeaking girl that only got taken care of, and watched to do things for Leona in return - so she pressed her mouth down against her hard flank with another soft kiss, then pressing another as she moved up, sliding the softness of her mouth against her hardness. Her lips squished down as she applied a modicum of pressure, and found the cock unyielding against her. It was painfully stiff and hard and ready for action, and she was there to provide it.
She kissed the side of her cock, moving along the many girthy inches with an intensity that bordered on reverence. She plucked at the hard skin with her soft lips, trying to pull at it with her mouth and failing - but the act of trying had it throbbing from the stimulation, and that was all that mattered. Her hand braced the cock as best as it could, letting the vascular underside use her smooth palm as a cushion and struggling to keep her fingers around the broadness of her meat. She awkwardly pulled at it, stroking the dense shaft as she planted down kiss after steaming kiss against her girth, trying to do her best.
“Lux,” Leona breathed - just her name, nothing more, but Lux loved to hear it. The redhead’s head was hanging down and dripping water, and the stare she sent her way was positively intense. Lux prickled under her gaze, and it made her go for more with a desperation to please.
Her second hand rose up to cup the rest of the cock, and she hefted it above her head. Her kissing lips moved along the underside, pressing the softness of her mouth across the vascular girth in a series of wet marks. Each press was firm, her lips squishing down with pressure, and then rolled away from the hardness - almost plucking at the skin and exposing it to a brief hint of the inner heat. Leona’s breath came out in a groan as she kissed along the hardness of her throbbing cock and pressed against it from both sides with her hands, barely keeping it aloft and preventing it from flopping on her face.
She kissed it with lustful intensity, moving as if tasting her cock was all she could have ever wanted. She tasted amazing to her love-struck mind, and the sheer size of her was perfect. Lux was small, Leona was big, and that contrast hit her buttons in all the right ways. The sight of her muscles up above only made her feel hotter as she went down on her dick, caressing it with her soft lips and leaving wet kisses as she made her way along its broad haft. Her hands tugged at it with slow, rolling strokes, massaging warm water into the skin.
She moved toward the head as Leona stared, and as she rounded on the rubbery crown her lips kissed it with reverence. It made the girl with auburn-hair groan and tilt her head back, and Lux loved the idea of the pleasure she was bringing to her. She kissed her cockhead twice more, each kiss hot and heavy, and then parted her mouth to surround a broader section of head and cockmeat; she kissed at it harder, then rolled back with a soft, smooth twerk of her neck, and drew out a louder groan.
“That’s nice,” Leona sighed, her hand raking through her hair, pushing it all back in a cascade of golden-red. Her other hand pressed against the wall of the shower as if to brace herself, and Lux gazed up at all that with fondness and care. The sight was intoxicating, the fact that she was on her knees for her purely indulgent, and she happily kissed and slurped at the tip of her cock while her hands tugged at the skin behind it with eagerness. She didn’t care how slutty it might have seemed; she wanted it a lot, and committed to it without hesitation.
The cock’s size, granted, daunted her, but Lux didn’t back down. She pulled back and stared at it with a hot, panting breath, her hands pulling and rotating at the rock-hard meat with eager tugs. As flesh rippled and the heavy cock bobbed she admired it, taking in its heft and texture, wanting to take it but trying to calculate how. Her touch made Leona groan ever-so-softly, and her dick throbbed insistently against the fingers that could only barely wrap around it. She appeared as excited as the blonde felt, and that delighted her.
“You’re as big as my arm,” Lux said softly, admiring her with a smile. “You’re… amazing .”
“You don’t have to take anything you don’t want to,” Leona told her, her voice cutting through the shower.
“I want it all,” Lux assured her, biting her lip and smiling up at her. As Leona stared she went back down, surrounding the head of her cock with her pink lips and exposing it to the slick heat of her mouth. Leona’s breath hiked again as the sensitive tip was coated in warmth and pressed against by softness, and the Demacian adjusted herself in an attempt to understand how to do what she wanted to do. The head alone was as big as a walnut - or so it felt - and it seemed to fill a good bit of her mouth, and she knew there was no way of taking the rest of the creamy meat behind it inside.
She wanted to, though, and she resolved to do her best. She pulled back, letting her mouth roll against the rubbery head, and pulling back with a wet slide of her lips. She parted her lips even more then dove back down, trying to take her head deeper into her mouth. Lips surrounded it and her tongue rose out to meet it, applying it for the first time to Leona’s cock. The redhead sighed as the flexible muscle pressed against her and lapped at her sensitive tip, running along it in a lewd lick before drifting back.
Leona sighed, and Lux pressed in deeper. She dragged her tongue along the head of her cock as it slipped into her mouth, soon sending the fluttering muscle against the underside of her rod. Her cheeks filled out in mere instants as the dense dickmeat found a home inside her warm mouth, and her jaw stretched out to accommodate it. Her lips squeezed down and her breath came out in a little sputter as a few inches made their way within, and she held herself there for a long moment as she struggled to adjust.
“That feels good,” Leona sighed, head tilted back again. “You feel nice…”
Lux wanted to smile, but couldn’t around the cock. Her hands clenched down around the midsection and she used that to almost pull her head off of it, and her lips slipped off of it with a wet noise. Just a few inches left her mouth feeling impossibly full, but that only had her wanting more. Swallowing thickly, she kissed the head and ran her tongue across it in a long, full lick, collecting saliva and warm water. As Leona groaned she widened her lips and pushed back down, taking the few inches back into the warm heat of her mouth.
She pressed down a little further, and gurgled around the hardness. It was big, thick, too difficult to really take, but she wanted to take it. She pressed down with an eager roll of her neck and sank it in deep, only halting when it bottomed out inside of her mouth and left her gurgling. She made a wet noise around it, but her lips remained secured and her cheeks squished against it to either side, much to Leona’s satisfaction. Her dick throbbed potently inside of her mouth, and Lux’s tongue attacked it almost viciously - licking, pulling, undulating, desperation to please in every movement.
Her hands tugged at the rest of her stiff cock in a series of awkward rises and clumsy falls, trying her hardest to give it a successful handjob as her mouth sucked at the upper inches. She wasn’t used to it, and the water made it hard to keep a good grip - not that she even had one, what with Leona’s wrist-thick girth. She stroked her dense cockmeat with smooth fingers and adjusted her head as best as she could before pulling back, sliding the cock against the velvety texture of her mouth.
Leona sighed as Lux pulled back until only the tip was surrounded in her lips, and then dropped herself right back down. She took it into her mouth as best as she could and gurgled wetly around it, the weight pressing down on her tongue and the size making eyes water - but she loved it, and she went for more with each passing moment. Hard though it was, she brought her head up and down in vague bobs of motion, moving only along a few inches at a time but still moving all the same. Her hands twisted and tugged at throbbing cock and stroked it in time with her mouth, and at Leona’s subsequent sighs, the Demacian’s arousal soared.
“God, Lux,” she groaned. One of her hands moved down to cup her head, but all Leona did was collect her wet hair and pull it back. She moved it out of her face as she bobbed up and down on the first four inches of cock, unable to take any more than that. She knew it wasn’t much, but she worked all the harder for it, committing to pleasing the older girl. The way she so tenderly brought her hair to the way only made her want to do it more, to please her harder, and she actively went for it.
She bobbed along her cock, slurping and sucking in the same movements. Saliva bubbled up inside of her mouth and ran out between her lips in slick lines as she failed to properly tame it, but she didn’t mind. Hands tugged and stroked at the same time, working the massive shaft as best as she could manage. Leona watched her do it with smouldering eyes and pleasant sighs, and each time Lux looked up to lock eyes with her she felt a pulse run through her entire body.
“Oh, Lux,” she groaned, brushing at blonde hair. “I - you make it so hard to resist you.”
Lux pulled away from her cock with a wet slurp, and found saliva bridging the gap between head and lips. It made her pant with lust, but she just licked her lips, swiped at her mouth with the back of her hand, and smiled up at her. “You don’t have to. I don’t want you to.”
Leona leaned down, sending her breasts bobbing and her stomach flexing with muscle. Lux cooed softly and bit her lip, then squeaked louder as Leona effortlessly picked her up and lifted her to her feet. The shower rained onto them in warm droplets, and it pattered off of skin in dazzling arcs that went entirely ignored as she stared into her golden eyes.
“Then,” she said carefully, “may I?”
“ Please, ” Lux breathed, staring up into her eyes with pure adoration, and Leona ducked her head to peck her on the lips.
It was quick, brief, and gone in an instant as Leona turned her around with a simple flex of her biceps and pulled her against her hard body. Her smooth backside hit strong, hard abs and her shoulders squished against firm but pleasantly fluffy breasts, and a pleased sigh left her lips. She leaned into her embrace as she was tucked against her, loving the way arms circled around her waist and pinned her in against her. Her hard, wet cock slipped between her thighs like a daunting pillar, grinding against the soft skin insistently.
“Let me take care of you,” Leona purred into her ear, holding her perfectly upright. Her arms wrapped her up nice and snug, her biceps surrounding her slender limbs and chest like the most pleasurable vice in the world and her densely muscled front pressing against her backside in full. Her hips drew back, grinding the top of it against her pussy, and for the first time she felt tingles of pleasure rush along her more intimate spots.
“Take care of me,” Lux all but begged of her. “I’m yours, Leo.”
“I love hearing you say that,” the older girl hummed, her hips pulling back in a way that made her abs ripple against her backside. “I’ll take it easy, okay?”
“You don’t have-”
“Only at first,” she amended, her cock sawing back. Lux gasped and flinched as the head poked against her slick core, but her jumping body was pulled back in by Leona’s impossibly strong arms and held against her powerful body. Anything Lux could have done was easily overwhelmed by her raw strength, and she loved it. Lux didn’t know how many girls wanted to be manhandled around, but she craved it. The strength, the power - all of it ticked all of her buttons, and it left her dripping with desire.
She gasped as Leona, with an expert roll of her hips, pressed her cockhead against her core insistently, driving the bulbous tip against her wet petals with ease. It ground against them before parting them with a slick noise, and a mewl left her lips as the hardness started to pierce through the soft pink of her insides. It was a more potent feeling than she could have believed, and her entire body shifted as it started to find a home inside of her. The cockhead led the way and parted out the walls of her tunnel, sinking through the wet core with the plentiful lubrication heaped over it, and as just that first little bit pushed inside her cunt felt stretched.
“Ohmy gosh, ” she whined, her body lifting and jerking forward - but she was brought back in an instant, and the arms around her body tightened. She was tugged against Leona’s broad frame, and as she tried to lean forward she was coaxed back into her upright position. As the cock slipped into her at a slow, grinding pace, just a bit at a time finding a home in her pink pussy, she instinctively wanted to jump and jerk up to fight the intense sensations sent rocking through her. Her pelvis wanted to buck, her body wanted to rise, and her spine told her to lean forward and adjust to it - as if that would help her.
She couldn’t. Leona’s arms wrapped tight, and their length and size easily trapped her body. She couldn’t move unless the older girl wanted her to, and as she jerked forward she found her range of motion limited to just a few inches before she was tugged right back down. Biceps firmly cupped her arms and chest and forearms held her securely, and it sent a fluttering heat through her entire body. A whine left her lips as the realization of her captivity hit her hard - just as hard as the cock that was, even then, pushing its way inside of her, filling her inside with glorious stiffness.
Her knees bent and another whine rang out from her lips as strain filled her up, but it was a pleasing sort of pressure. Her insides protested and squealed as they were pushed out by the stiff dickhead and then filled up by the hard cockmeat beyond, but she loved the feeling. She knew it would make it hard to walk in the morning, but the first few minutes felt so good that she couldn’t consider not taking what Leona offered. She only gasped and rose up onto the tips of her toes as more and more was slowly, gently fed into her, the dick sliding in by the centimeter, with the older girl making sure to pace herself every inch of the way.
“Is this okay?” Leona asked her, purring her hot words right into her ear, and Lux shivered.
“I-it’s okay,” she gasped, biting her lip as the first few inches of cock filled her up. Leona stopped there and rolled her hips, and a sudden surge of electricity ran across her limbs as walls were oh-so-gently pried apart by the casual movement. “O-oh…”
“Not too much?”
“No,” she whined. “More, please.”
Leona hummed and thrust gently, spearing her cock up and into her tightness with a slow, easy push of her hips. She was slow and methodical, making sure to stretch her out gently. She didn’t want to overwhelm her, and that was clear from how she moved - but her size was incredible, her length obscene and her girth eye-watering, and each simple push had her gasping. As another inch stretched out her fluttering walls her body rose up onto her toes, as if that would somehow help her - but she remained tightly locked in the redhead’s arms, her body pressed against from all sides and her back exposed to the treat of grinding abdominal muscles.
“So big,” she whined again, her eyes closing as the cock gently drilled into her. It easily pierced through her lush tunnel, powered as it was by hard muscles, a strong body, and the ample lubrication; she was gushing wet for it, and her body craved it. She was even more easily captured and held still by Leona, her body flush against hers back-to-front while also standing. Her mind told her that standing sex in a wet shower shouldn’t have been easy, but the older girl made it seem so easy.
“You feel amazing,” Leona told her in low, heartwarming tones, and Lux shivered to hear it. “So tight and warm…”
The blonde’s body barely bucked or moved as Leona pushed up into her with low, breathy sighs - she only rose up onto the tips of her toes, and even then, though she should have slipped because of the compromising position, she was held firm. Despite the water raining down from above and making the floor a slippery, treacherous mess, she was effortlessly kept still by her love and pinned in place against her hard body and plump breasts. Her neck was cradled by the large mounds and her backside was grinded against by hard, rolling muscle, and it made her feel… cozy. Warm. Secure.
It was as intoxicating as everything else so far, and it made her body feel hot and tight and gooey all at once. She was so wrapped up in Leona’s arms it was as if she was neutralized, and she loved it. Leona was tremendously strong, more so than she could ever hope to handle, and it delighted her in every way. She couldn’t move in her grip, and she didn’t want to move; she wanted to just sit there and remain locked in her arms forever.
“So good,” she gasped, her body shivering within the tight press of Leona’s arms as the cock drove into her. All Leona was doing was thrusting up and into her tightness at a slow, steady pace, intent on stretching her out and not yet even fucking her, and it left her gasping with sudden and delirious pleasure. It felt good, and she only knew that she wanted more of it.
“I’m glad,” Leona purred, “because you feel amazing, Lux.”
Lux whined as the cock pushed in to the midpoint, grinding against her sensitive, fluttering walls, stretching her out so intensely that her body wanted to lean against the shower wall by Leona hammered against her body - but she was strapped, pinned down, and locked her big, strong, warm arms, leaving her feeling fuzzy and safe. She could only gasp and mewl as the dick pushed its way through her, then pulled back with a smooth tug of hips and a flexing of strong abs against her backside, showing off the older girl’s sexual prowess.
Where each push and thrust was intense beyond belief for Lux, Leona handled it much better. Her breathing, though husky, was paced, and her movements were easygoing. She pulled back with smoothness and dragged inches of her hard cock out of her pussy in a way that left her whimpering before spearing it right back inside in a slow, grinding push, making her insides coil and shiver. Walls stretched out in leaps and bounds as her hardness thrust into her, and her body remained pinned in place by her strong arms.
It was all exactly as Lux wanted it to be, really. She couldn’t imagine anything better, anything more fulfilling, and being in Leona’s arms - even with her cock lodged inside of her - was the place she wanted to be. She happily moaned and mewled as the older girl gently pried her loose with each thrust of her hips, her abs flexing against her skin as she gradually rolled herself in and out of her tight snatch. Her cock grinded across her fluttering depths, taming them through sheer strength and size, rendering them into little more than a soft, velvet sheath for her to thrust into.
“That’s it,” Leona said under her breath, her entire chest seeming to vibrate as she rolled her hips into Lux.
The blonde’s entire cunt was stretched and impaled with each passing moment, the slow, steady thrusts making her whimper and the backward tugs drawing out deeper whines. Her insides shifted and stretched in time with her movements, and her outer folds gripped onto the wrist-thick girth intensely. The throbbing could be felt across all of her rippling tunnel, and the raw virility of her dick was groan-inducing. It made her entire body feel hot and warm in a way that wasn’t because of the water, and the way Leona hugged her slender body against her statuesque form kept her shivering with pleasure.
She groaned and moaned as the older girl gently speared her cock inside, stretching her out moment by moment, thrust by thrust, easing her way into her until she was nice and deep and then pulling back again. She was conscious of how much Lux could take, and each movement felt paced and measured for it - never too hard, never pushing in too much, always hitting the golden range each time she moved. She got deeper, however, pushed her cock in ever more firmly, moving from a slow penetration into a steady fucking.
“ Oh, ” she whined, her head falling back and tucking under Leona’s neck. “S-so- wow - so deep -!”
Leona hummed in a way that had her chest vibrating, and the powerful shudders travelled through Lux. She moaned to feel it just as much as she felt her cock sliding in and out faster and faster, thrusting into her welcoming embrace with eye-wateringly intense and moan-inducingly pleasurable strokes. She used her first half of cock very well, with each movement grinding and stretching and then pulling back with smoothness, and every passing moment saw more fucking through her slender channel.
“Y-you’re - h-hah - ”
“You’re doing great,” Leona hummed, her breath hot and lustful and kind.
Her knees bent and her body quivered, but she was safe and secure in Leona’s arms. She kept her firmly pinned against her broad body, treating her to a display of muscular prowess as she was fucked. The water rained down from above without pause, warming them and causing steam to rise up around their thrusting bodies, and all of it made her feel snug. Her eyes rolled and her lids drooped as pleasure more intense than anything she’d ever felt before in her life filled her up from top to bottom.
Leona’s low breaths and groans delighted her, and each forward thrust made her quiver. She wanted to feel more, for Leona to let loose, but the woman continued to fuck her nice and thoroughly - and that took all the processing power Lux could muster. There were things she wanted to say and do to her, praises to heap and things to beg for, but she could only focus on her rising pleasure and the tightening of her core. She moaned as she was taken so steadily and powerfully, finding the close intimacy of it all overwhelming, and she gave in to it without thinking twice.
She whimpered and gasped as Leona thrust into her, filling her up with more and more and more until her head felt dizzy and her core felt warm. Her insides twisted and turned around the dick as if milking it, but nothing slowed the gentle thrusting of the hard slab. It was rock-solid and stiff as her wrist, and as it stretched her out she was left feeling nothing but pleasure. Each thrust stoked her inner heat, each swinging push left her gasping, and each time it drove deeply through her pink walls her body was sent rocking forward - only for her forward momentum to be halted and her body to be securely wrapped up in big, strong arms.
Lux had never felt anything like it in her life, and she knew she wouldn’t ever get anything like it from anyone other than Leona. She didn’t want to, either. She only wanted her, and the pleasure of the moment, the sheer incredulity of what was happening, and the blissful relief of it all hit her hard - harder than it hit Leona, that was for sure. As the cock made it deeper and deeper inside she gasped and mewled all the harder, her insides tightening and spasming all at once and her entire body jerking inside of the tight, muscular embrace.
Her release hit her hard and it hit her fast. It was eye-wateringly intense, and her entire body locked up and started to shiver as the intense wave of sensation passed through her. She whimpered and gasped at the potency of it, quivering like a tightly-strung harp as an orgasm rocked through her with sudden ferocity, and the electricity that surged along her limbs left her a gasping, mewling mess. She trembled and squeaked as her body vibrated and her pussy flooded with juices, soaking the thick dick with liquid.
Leona stopped all forward movement and tugged her against her. Her cock remained lodged inside and her hips just gently rolled, stirring up her clenching walls like a stirring stick - but not thrusting, not fucking, just remaining there as arms held tight. She wrapped her up in a warm, soothing embrace, locking her down tightly as she did nothing but tremble. Her orgasm rolled through her in an intense wave that was spurred on purely because of the sheer overwhelming stimulation, but no less pleasurable for it.
“That’s it,” Leona cooed into her ear, reassuring every step of the way - and Lux loved that; her care, her attentiveness, the way she made her feel so safe. The older girl could probably snap her in two, but she used her strength to hug and hold her and she loved it. “That’s it, baby…”
Lux gasped and moaned as she was held tight, and only slowly shivered to a stop. Leona’s arms were tight around her body, her muscles pressing up against her backside in full, and her face nuzzled into her wet, golden hair. She panted there as her spine tingled, and she sank into the welcoming embrace with little more than a soft whine.
“Okay?”
“Okay,” she mewled, her voice small and cute. “You’re so… warm.”
Leona smiled into her hair. “Am I?”
“Yes,” she whispered. “You make me feel so warm and snuggly. And good. Mostly good.”
“That would be the climax, Lux,” she chuckled.
She licked her lips. “Right - what about yours? You didn’t -”
“One thing at a time,” she purred, and one hand left Lux’s body to close the shower. “And I want to take you to bed, Lux. You don’t deserve anything less.”
“The shower is warm,” she whined.
“You said I was warm.”
Lux sighed and sank against her hard body. Her head bounced against her chest, and she almost used it as a pillow. “You are.”
She craned her neck around to look into Leona’s eyes. “Take me to bed?”
Leona pecked her on the lips. “Most certainly.”
Leona pulled back in a sudden rush of movement, but she was careful - pushing Lux off of her, drifting back, carefully extracting her cock and holding her steady on legs that felt like jelly. She would have collapsed had the girl not been holding her up, and Lux was as thankful for her help as she was when she was turned around and picked up just like earlier, effortlessly hauled up into her arms. Her big, thick cock was trapped between their bodies, and as sore as her insides felt, she wanted to have it inside of her all over again.
She was carried out of the steaming shower and out into the washroom in a second, and in the next their lips were kissing all over again. She barely paid attention to her surroundings as she wrapped her arms and legs around Leona, and only focused on the lock of her mouth and the press of her body. She moaned when a tongue tickled her lower lip and gasped as it smoothly pushed into her mouth, enjoying the deeper, hotter make-out session as she was carried in her arms.
The cool air of her house hit her wet body, and she knew they were making just as much of a mess as before. Water dripped off of them, but without clothing and in the air of the Targonian dorm - the atmosphere hotter and dryer, amusingly, than Lux’s house - the water on their skin dried a little faster. They were still very much wet when Leona brought Lux over to her bed and pushed her down onto it, showing not an ounce of difficulty in carrying her around her dorm and between rooms.
Her wet body was pushed down onto a thick comforter, and Leona settled on top of her in the same motion. Lux broke the kiss just to see the big, strong body bearing down against her, watching her breasts bounce forward under their weight and adoring the sight of her rippling abs above her flat stomach. Her cock pressed down, sliding across her lower lips, and then pushing forward with a smooth drop of her thick waist and wide hips.
She gasped as her thick cock drove up into the tightness of her cunt all over again, and she threw her head back into the bed as it stretched her out in a firm rush of movement. It sank down faster than it had before, filling up her aching passage with several girthy inches at a pace faster than her mind could keep up with. Her hips bucked at the stretching feeling of her insides, and her sensitive snatch roiled around the hardness. She mewled as it went down, watching it disappear into her tight cleft, and shivered from head to toe.
“You feel so good, Leo,” she moaned, her shoulders lifting from the bed and her hands rising to grab at strong biceps. They planted to either side of her shoulders as if she was doing a push-up, and it let her really see her muscles in action. “You’re amazing.”
“And you’re beautiful,” Leona told her, dropping her hips down. She speared inches of hard cockmeat into her tight cleft and held herself there, rolling her hips and stirring up her insides around her thickness before pulling back again. Walls stretched and bulged as she was steadily worked loose around it, and she whimpered at the sensations. “So beautiful.”
She pushed down with a hard stroke, her wide waistline flexing and her abs rippling. Lux gasped and clenched down on her biceps as the cock filled her out, admiring its size even as it stretched her out. It felt bigger than it looked, and as it dove into her depths, plumbing them out, then retracted, she could only moan. Her hips bucked up instinctively as it plunged down, and that had more of it sinking into her tight quim - impaling her so thoroughly it left her eyes watering.
“I love seeing you waiting for me on Sundays, you know?” Leona told her, husking her words in a way that left Lux tingling with delight. “You’re such a treat, Lux. You’re so - so cute, and funny, and smart - ”
Her hips pressed down and pulled back with smooth movements, showing just how skilled she really could be with her cock when she was on top. Her muscles all bent to the task of thrusting down, and she expertly slid her throbbing mast into her squirming depths again and again. Her hair cascaded over her shoulder in a wave of brilliant red, with flecks of gold standing out stark and bright. Her eyes blazed with passion as she tenderly fucked her, showing restraint and care even as she reamed her out around her thickness.
“-And I love hearing you speak about the stuff you like,” Leona sighed, her voice a tiny bit more strained than before. “You’re thoughtful and insightful and you’re so adorable. Everything you do is cute, Lux, and I just - I want to see all of it.”
She paused, and pushed down hard enough to make her squeal. “All of you.”
“M-me too,” Lux gasped, her legs kicking out to wrap around Leona’s thrusting waistline. Her hands slid up her bulging arms to wrap around her neck, and she tugged her in. “I want all of you, Leona. I think you’re the best, and I - gosh, I want everything you want to give me.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes,” Lux squealed. “You’re so big and strong and perfect and - I’d love to be yours, Leona, really, honestly.”
Her breath trailed off as another squeal left her lips. Leona was thrusting a little harder, a little firmer, stretching out her insides in firm rushes of movement that had her pussy twisting. Juices gushed out around it as it pushed and thrust its way through her velvet sheath, and sticky, wet slurps filled the air. Muscles twisted and turned, and the bedding dipped each time Leona applied her strength - but she was still holding back, and Lux didn’t want that. She wanted to feel it.
“I’d love that, too,” Leona told her, her words coming out in a grunt. Her hair danced over her shoulders as her hips swung in precise arcs, her pace never faltering.
“It might sound creepy, but I’ve always fantasized about this,” Lux moaned, her body twisting and her limbs locking around Leona. She tried to tug her in deeper, but her strength was nothing compared to hers. She was totally overpowered, and she adored it. “About being with you, about you taking me and making me yours. You’re fantastic, strong, powerful…”
She groaned, and Leona groaned with her - clearly receptive to her admissions, her eyes burning with undisguised passion. When she murmured a, “tell me, Lux,” she knew their feelings were totally mutual.
“I love the idea of you claiming me,” she admitted, her voice lustful and low. “Fucking me on your bed and planting a baby in me - your baby. I think it would just be so hot. ”
“Lux,” Leona almost growled, her voice dropping another octave and her hips pushing down a little harder. Each thrust was breathtaking and intense, and it made her whine and tighten her limbs. “That would be - that would be nice , but we’re in school.”
“It would be so worth it,” she pressed, rubbing her hands along her strong, defined shoulders and locking her arms around her waistline. Hips thumped down and her strong stomach coiled with motion, plunging her cock down again and again. Her speed was increasing as Lux’s words had their intended effect, riling her up such that self-control became difficult. “I want you to fuck me and make me yours, you know? Fill me up with your hot b-baby-making cum and do what this big, strong body deserves to do.”
“We still have to go through school,” Leona told her, hissing out the words. Her hips pounded down harder as her self-control took a hit, and the way Lux’s legs locked around her backside and hooked behind the small of it rendered her a gasping mess. “ Both of us.”
“Then, after,” Lux told her, gasping every other breath. “When we’re finished, you’ll come inside of me with your strong, virile seed, knocking me up just like you deserve. ”
Leona growled out an almost feral-sounding noise as her hips drove down harder and harder, ramming her thick cock into Lux at a pace that a girl like herself really couldn’t stand up to - but that was Lux’s point. She wanted to feel her fuck her with her real power, not hold back for fear of breaking her. She was getting her wish with each passing second, and as the mattress began to squeak in protest and the comforter began to take on a distinctly Luxanna-shaped hole, she got her desire.
“Because a girl like you should be knocking me up,” she told her, praising her with all of her lewd, depraved desires. The idea of sex and impregnation outside of Leona didn’t do it for her, but with the girl of her dreams on top of her and fucking her into the mattress, she could only fantasize at how perfect it would be to be claimed in the most primal way possible. A cementing of their union, and a signal of Leona’s right to breed. “You’re such a stud, Leo, and I can’t think of anything better than you filling me up with your baby -”
“Lux,” She growled, driving down harder and harder, making the bed squeak and fucking Lux into it with steady and intense movements. It was only her depraved fantasy that was keeping her conscious and giving her the ability to speak, as otherwise she’d have been a squeaking mess. “That’s -”
“Do you want to?” She gasped, her entire body quivering and her spine arching violently as she was taken. Leona’s pace was hard, fast, and vigorous, her cock thundering down to impale her core to the hilt. Every last throbbing inch was buried inside of her, and though it boggled the mind to see nine full inches of hard dickmeat impaling her core and rendering her velvet tunnel into nothing more than a warm, snug hole, she lavished in it.
“Of course,” Leona grunted. “I’ve never wanted to be with anyone more than you. You’re - fuck - the-girl of my d-dreams.”
Lux could have squealed for joy, but she squealed, instead, in overwhelming strain as the cock hammered down hard and fast. “T-then, a-after we’re done school, you can take me wherever you want, pin me down, have your way with me, then fill me up so much that there’s no chance I’m not knocked up-”
“Fuck,” Leona growled, and slammed her mouth against Lux’s. She stole her next words away as she kissed her with fierce passion, making out with her mouth and showing not a shred of self-restraint. She groaned and grunted into her lips as her hips swung with mechanical, pendulous force and hammered against her twat, the flesh clapping loudly and lewdly and more intensely than she could bear. Balls thumped against her soaking wet slit and plopped wetly before pulling back, and she could only imagine the thick, baby-making seed swirling away inside.
Leona could very well not listen to her words and not care about her school life and cum right then and there. She could fuck her, fill her up, and conceive with such certainty that there would be nothing for her to do about it. The idea of it got Lux off harder than she could have expected, and her body thrummed with pleasure as the redhead continued to go at her with borderline-feral strokes, her hips hammering down and clapping against her soft pelvis with eye-watering impacts. The skin stung and smarted each time the muscled pelvis connected with hers, and her amply wide hips quivered with each intense impact.
“Yes!” She gasped in mewling pleasure, “Leo, yes!”
Balls swung into her as the cock thundered down, plunging into her sopping core and reaming her out. It hilted inside of her hot depths and stole the breath from her lungs as it plunged against her deepest point, and for a moment of clarity she marveled at how big the cock must be to probe her womb so effortlessly - and the next moment was all gasps and writhes and disbelief that Leona was that deep.
She loved it, though. She tightened her legs around her hips and dug her ankles into the small of her back before locking tight, holding her in place as she was reamed out. Deep grunts vibrated through the Targonian’s chest as she swung her hips with athletic prowess and smacked them down, fucking her with broad, intense strokes that stole her breath away. It left her in wheezes that had her reeling, but she loved each intense moment of it as much as she loved the girl on top of her.
Muscles pressed against her in full as she bore down in hard, lethal strokes, and the touch of her flexing abs against her stomach had Lux see stars. She cried out in pleasure and whimpered as the throbbing mast impaled her time and time again, and the way it pulsed so intensely within her velvet sheath had her burning with want and desire. Leona was right there on the cusp, and all she had to do was thrust a little more, fuck herself to completion, and without regard, dump her thick, hearty load right against her womb, fill it up, and thoroughly impregnate her.
“Fill me up!” She whined, unsure of if she said the words for her pleasure or Leona’s - or if they were even a tease, or a begging plea to be bred by her stud-like body.
Either way, it didn’t matter. Leona growled, slammed down hard, and her last few strokes with final and intense. Deep, hammering blows that sawed her cock down, pronounced strokes that turned her cervix into mush and sent her brain reeling back. She was sure she came again, but she only saw stars as she was fucked into the mattress. Her arms got tighter, her legs locked around her back, and she clutched onto her with desperation. Any normal person would have been locked into a certain creampie by it, but Leona was no normal person.
She groaned as she fought it all off in a single instant, pulling back and pushing off the slender body she’d been smothering as if she were just doing a push-up. She extracted herself from her limbs in an instant and pulled her cock out with a feral-sounding groan, leaving Lux whining there for a long, plaintive moment. in the next Leona was squeezing her eyes shut and her cock was throbbing against her pelvis, the heavy meat weighing down her body more than she could have anticipated.
In the next, her thick release came spurting out of the tip in visible throbs of her cock. Lines of virile seed splashed forward and hit her smooth, white skin in a creamy rush, and Lux mewled to feel it touch her naked body. It was hot and warm and physically heavy; the purest expression of thick, hearty baby-batter, designed by impeccable genetics to breed and impregnate. It was the kind of release that belonged to a girl like Leona, and for a moment, Lux was left to fantasize about just how amazing it was.
She imagined how, in any other age of their existence, a woman like Leona would have taken her, ravaged her, bred her, and made her hers in perpetuity with the solemness of a warrior - or, maybe, added her to a harem of conquesting right. Either option sounded incredible, and it left her shivering with overwhelming pleasure as the cock throbbed powerfully against her skin and painted her with white release. There was so much of it that hot streams shot across her lower stomach and draped across the length of her torso, stitching heavy lines over her navel and up to her small, heaving breasts.
Leona panted hard and fast, her face flushed and her skin ruddy with exertion. Her muscles were stark and pronounced under her glistening skin, and her large, fluffy tits heaved in fleshy trembles. It was a pleasure to watch, and Lux indulged in the sight of it just as much as she lavished in the display of virility being painted across her torso. Hot, heavy ropes of the stuff stained her, made her feel weighed down, and she admired the very visible potency of it. As balls the size of her fists seemed to tense and throb out with more release, she mused on just how easy it would be for a single string to impregnate her.
She found it unbearably hot.
"I can't wait," Lux told her in a low, gasping tone, "For all this thick, virile seed to be planted inside of me one day, Leo."
"Lux," she groaned, her bicep bulging as she raised her hand to tidy her hair. "...Fuck. One day. When we're done with school, and we're in a good spot, okay?"
"Okay," she breathed, looking up at her with love. After a moment, she offered a smile. "Moving too fast?"
Leona laughed under her breath. "Maybe. Probably. I don't think I care, though."
She rolled over and flopped onto her back. "I want you, and I want this. So, I'm fine with planning ahead if you are."
"Of course," Lux said, and curled up against her. She was warm and strong and cozy, and as she wrapped her arm around her abs, a surge of glee ran through her.
"Don't get too comfortable," Leona chuckled, her voice only barely tired when compared to Lux's. "I need to change the covers - they're too wet to sleep in, now. And, you should probably clean up before, well, you know. It dries."
"In a minute," she whined, nuzzling her face into a soft breast.
"Lux, don't sleep," Leona laughed.
"I won't," she replied, voice softer still. "If I was, you'd be my big spoon."
Leona bit her lip and looked down at her with fond eyes. "That, I like the sound of."
"I just need a rest for a minute, ok?" She looked up at her. "Then..." Her hand drifted down to cup Leona's still-hard cock. "We can work on this, too."
Leona swallowed thickly. "Sure," she said hoarsely.
For a moment, the two indulged in one another's warmth. When Leona's arm wrapped around her shoulders and tugged her in closer still, Lux felt complete. Warm, fuzzy, cozy, and safe - the best feelings ever, in her humble opinion. She wanted nothing more, and was happy to lie there naked with Leona, on her bed and indulging in the post-coital glow.
"By the way," Leona said thickly. "We should, uh... probably let your brother know where you are? Given the storm, and all..."
Lux scrunched up her nose, then stiffened awkwardly. "...Oh." She winced. "He's gonna blow a gasket."
Leona laughed awkwardly. "Y-yeah..."
After a moment, Lux giggled. "Worth it, though."
Leona shared in her giggle. "Also, yeah."
Both laughing and indulging, they snuggled together on the bed.
