Work Text:
They haven’t been getting a lot of day offs lately so today, Seungcheol planned to make the most out of it. He couldn’t go home to Daegu because it would take a lot longer travelling back and forth than to actually stay there and relax so he opted for just a quiet stay in their dorm. Everybody had things to do and places to go and they won’t be back until tomorrow afternoon. He slept the whole day, played a little bit and without noticing, it’s already past 5 pm.
Finally, he got up. Placed an order for some chicken and beer and while waiting, took a quick shower. As soon as he finished dressing up, the doorbell rang. Wearing a black tank top and boxers, he went to the door, expecting the delivery but was met with their contracted cleaner instead. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t expecting anyone to be home.” the elderly lady said.
“It’s okay ahjumma, I can just come up to the other dorm and eat there so you can clean comfortably.” he reassured her.
“Oh, yes. You will eat better there as well because I have finished cleaning there already.”
Smiling to the old lady, he gathered his things and excused himself. Very timely, he met the delivery man on his way up so he was able to receive the food he ordered.
The smell of freshly cleaned linens greeted his nose as soon as he walked in on the 8th floor dorm. Very different from how it usually smells which is a combination of the smell of sweat and used socks and left over foods. In a way, he actually feels guilty to eat here because opening up the box of fried chicken would mean getting rid of this nice, clean smell lingering in the air. However, the loud rumbling of his stomach seemed to have reigned because he found himself sitting on the floor a few seconds later, salivating on the smell of freshly cooked fried chicken. Of course, the first thing to do is to take a huge gulp of his favorite beer.
It’s always a weird feeling being in the dorms without the usual loud bantering of the members. Living together for years now, Seungcheol thinks his day wouldn’t be complete without at least hearing some bickering from his dongsaengs. Or, safer to say, that he’d be a participating party on that department.
But yeah, he’d be lying if he says this isn’t nice too.
He easily finished one piece of the chicken, and in his mind he’s actually contemplating whether or not he can finish this whole box in one sitting. He’s always been conscious of his diet, but okay, since the members aren’t here and technically, there wouldn’t be any witnesses… so maybe…
He turns the TV on, chuckling when it automatically directs to the drama channel. The members from the 8th floor love watching korean dramas so they would often pile up on the living room and binge watch. He isn’t too fond of it so he switches to the sports channel and makes a little victory dance when he spots a soccer game.
In true Seungcheol fashion, he started cheering loudly, clapping when his favorite team scores and groaning with some not-so-nice remarks when the opponent gets ahead. He puts the can down hard when he finished his first beer-- five more cans waving at him.
Suddenly, he hears footsteps and then there’s Jeonghan. Rubbing his sleepy eyes and his hair still disheveled from lying down. “You’re loud.”
“Ya, what are you doing here? You’re supposed to go home to your family right?”
Jeonghan plops down on the couch, eyes still shut tight. “They went on a last minute trip. I didn’t have the energy so I just stayed back. What are you doing here?”
“Too tired to drive.”
“No, I mean, here. In our floor.”
“Oh. The cleaning lady arrived and I felt bad eating there while she’s cleaning so I went up. I thought I was alone. Sorry for waking you up.” Then he looked at the food. “If I had known you’re here, I would have ordered more. You like chicken with spring onions right?” the leader asked.
Jeonghan waved his hand. “It’s alright. I’m still full.” Then he got up and was about to walk away when Seungcheol stopped him. “Where are you going?”
“Going back to sleep.”
“No way. You’re drinking with me.” Seungcheol got on his knees and dragged Jeonghan down with him. “We havent drank together in a long time, Jeonghannie.” The slightly younger man closed his eyes and massaged his temple. This is going to be a long night.
-
2 hours and 8 cans of beer later, Seungcheol is already slurring. “Stop drinking so fast, Cheol.” Jeonghan reprimands him. Comparing his two cans to the leader’s 10 overall. Everybody knows Seungcheol holds his alcohol well. He’s always the last to turn in during drinking sessions. He knows he can easily win against the other members, except Jeonghan, because well, Seungcheol’s tolerance might be high, but Jeonghan is wise and knows when to slow down.
They talked about a lot of things and honestly, that’s one of the best things when drinking with Seungcheol. Them being of the same age puts little to no restrictions when it comes to conversations. Makes Jeonghan recall those days when they used to drink a lot and spend most of their free time together. But lately, he noticed (tried not to) that Seungcheol is a little quiet especially when it’s just the two of them.
So imagine his surprise when Seungcheol suddenly blurts out:
“You’re really handsome, you know that Jeonghannie?” He didn’t even realize that the leader’s face is only inches away from his now. When did he get so close? Jeonghan takes a deep breath. Here comes clingy Seungcheol. Well.. he’s usually clingy when sober so imagine just how much that intensifies when he’s drunk. “You’re so handsome you make my heart go ddeugeun ddeugeun.” Seungcheol acts it out, pumping his chest as he leans to Jeonghan’s shoulder. “You’re drunk.” Jeonghan rolls his eyes. “Maybe you should go sleep. I’ll clean up.” but just as when he’s about to get up, the leader catches his wrist again, keeping him in place.
“Stay. I have to tell you something.” Seungcheol says, suddenly looking very serious. “You…” he starts, straightening his back as he faces Jeonghan. “I like you.”
Amused, Jeonghan leans towards the table, propping his chin with his hand. “Really?” Seungcheol nods. “Why do you like me?”
“Because!” Seungcheol exclaims. “Just because…”
“Ehhh~ You like me that much you can’t even explain huh?” Jeonghan teases the drunk leader. Totally amused by how his eyebrows are all furrowed as if he’s serious… as if.
“I guess so.” Seungcheol frowns. “It’s just that… whenever I see you.. my heart just…” he touches his chest this time and clutches at it. “I’ve never felt like this before. And I know this can make things go awkward between us and I know that you’re straight and I know you’re kinda seeing someone right now but--”
“What?”
“Wait let me finish!” Seungcheol whined.
“I know. I know all we can ever be are friends but! But!” He pointed at Jeonghan. “I’m pretty nice so I hope you reconsider.” Seungcheol looked so convince as he sells himself to Jeonghan. The latter grins wider, his amusement growing with each passing second. Okay, so maybe he should reciprocate. Seungcheol will probably (most likely) forget all about this come morning anyway. “Are you done? Can I talk now?” The leader nods, eyes wide and focused on him, as if awaiting a verdict.
“First of all, I am flattered. And normally, I would say that you’re a narcissist, but just this one time I will agree that you are, indeed, pretty nice. However, i’m confused on how and why you would assume that I’m straight?”
Being in a hazed state made Seungcheol process that longer that he should. And when it finally sunk into him, his eyes grew wide and jaw almost dropping to the floor. “Y-you’re not?!”
Jeonghan snickered. “I thought you of all people would know. And where did you even get the idea that im seeing someone?”
“Shua.” Seungcheol flatly stated.
Jeonghan isn’t even surprised. Of course. Of course his bestfriend would give Seungcheol that impression and he knows exactly why. “Are you sure you don’t have a girlfriend?” The leader looked suspiciously at him. Jeonghan nods and Seungcheol inspects him with drunk eyes twitching, “Boyfriend?”
Jeonghan giggles. “I don’t.” then he leans forward slightly to meet the leader halfway. “Would you like to be?” He saw the exact moment when those words registered through Seungcheol and the latter went from confusion, then shock and then finally decided to completely malfunction. Jeonghan finds this situation so amusing. He’s typically not the type to be flirty even when drunk but Seungcheol asked for it and since it’s just them then he thought it would be fun to reciprocate. After all, Seungcheol’s probably just saying all these things because he’s drunk. He shouldn’t take it too seriously.
“Cheol come back to earth.” He teased the leader who’s still immobile in front of him. “You really peaked at 10 bottles huh? Wait till I tell the kids.” he snickers. The leader had always bragged about his high alcohol tolerance because all the other members are pretty lightweight so this is the first time that Jeonghan has actually seen the leader drunk. “Ya, Cheol. Get back to your senses!”
The leader looked up at him, eyes glistening with what looks like… tears?
“Are you crying?” Jeonghan would be lying if he said he isn’t alarmed. Why the hell is Seungcheol teary eyed now?
“Y-you just-- asked me to be your boyfriend.” He said as a matter of factly. “We have to make this official.” and before Jeonghan can even process and react to that, Seungcheol had propped to his knees, pulled off his ring from his pinky and then took Jeonghan’s hand. Slipping the ring on the latter’s pinky where his own seventeen ring is, Seungcheol says “I would have gotten you a proper ring had I known this would happen. But for now, please take this ring as a sign of my love and never ending loyalty to you. I promise that I--”
“You do know those are wedding vows, right?” Jeonghan giggles some more. Maybe the alcohol had worked its magic on him too. “Are we getting married? If so, you should seal the deal with a kiss.” Sober Jeonghan would brick him for this, but tipsy Jeonghan had taken over and had shoved his sober version to the deepest part of him.
Seungcheol is hesitating and it is obvious. To be honest, Jeonghan knew the leader wouldn’t be able to do it that’s why he teased him with it. He just wanted to see just how far drunk Seungcheol would push for this agenda but it seems he’s reached his limit. He pushed Seungcheol slightly as he got up, picking up as much cans of beer as he can so he can dispose it. “You’re wasted. You should go to your room and sleep now.” he walked to the kitchen, hoping Seungcheol would listen to him and just head back but he froze the moment he felt firm arms envelope him from behind. “But I don’t want to sleep.” came Seungcheol’s low voice. His warm breath brushing against the exposed skin on Jeonghan’s neck, sending shivers running down his back. He wriggled from the other’s embrace, successfully escaping as he proceeds to the kitchen counter where suddenly, he felt the need to count disposable chopsticks.
Anything. Just anything to rid him off of Seungcheol’s voice and the way his body seemed to fit perfectly against the leader’s own. He gasped when Seungcheol suddenly spun him around and trapped him in between his arms. “Are you really trying to get rid of me after dropping something like that?” Seungcheol’s eyes were piercing, far from how he looked earlier.
“Like what?” Jeonghan tried to look away.
Seungcheol cupped his face, willing him to lock gazes again. “Can I seal the deal?”
The room fell silent, at least in Jeonghan’s mind. The sound of the television fading into background. “Can I?” The leader pressed. He feels drunk with the way Seungcheol looks at him, even the alcohol had nothing against this. Seungcheol looked sober. Is he? But when? Just some time earlier he’s sprawled on the floor malfunctioning. Just a while ago, Jeonghan had the upper hand and was just testing the waters.
When did the tables turn?
Jeonghan knew the consequences, but despite that, he found himself nodding slightly. Too late to think this through.
He saw something lit up in the leader’s eyes but whatever it is, he couldn’t study it any further because within seconds, Seungcheol’s plump lips have claimed his thin ones. He doesn’t move it, just leaves it pressed against Jeonghan’s, maybe in an effort to give the slightly younger man an opportunity to push him away.
But Jeonghan doesn’t and instead is the first one to move his lips, gently nibbling on Seungcheol’s bottom lip. He felt the leader’s hand travel to his hip, gripping him there as he welcomed Jeonghan’s initiative.
Jeonghan decided he’ll go all in. Nevermind what this would mean in the morning. So he lets his intentions known by licking Seungcheol’s bottom lip, hoping this would trigger the leader to finally reciprocate.
And it did because in no time, Seungcheol was ravaging him with kisses. And not even the innocent this-is-our-first-kiss-ones, but those that feel like he wants to strip Jeonghan of his soul-- and maybe his clothes too.
Jeonghan had to pull away because he’s becoming breathless, but that didn’t stop the leader from showering him with more kisses as he trailed from his chin and then his jaw and further down to his neck. Jeonghan buries his hand on Seungcheol’s messy hair, tugging at it to show his appreciation. “Cheol..” a moan escapes Jeonghan’s lips as he gave the leader more access to his neck.
However, he was caught off guard when Seungcheol suddenly pulled away. Stepping back, he was breathing heavily. Lips swollen and Jeonghan is sure that mirrors his own too.
“Cheol, why?” Jeonghan asks, confused.
“We should slow down. Or maybe stop.” Seungcheol calms himself down. “Because I’m not doing this if this is only a one time thing. I want this. I want all of these with you. But only if we’re on the same page. Only if you like me too.” Seungcheol looked like he was preparing himself for the worst.
To be honest, Jeonghan is surprised. How and why Seungcheol is able to have coherent thoughts right now have escaped him. While there he is, totally consumed by the call of heat from deep inside him. But then maybe, it’s time to be honest now. Seungcheol, no matter how ridiculous his confession sounded, had bared his heart out. Maybe it’s time he becomes honest with how he feels too.
“I wouldn’t have kissed you if I didn’t.” he didn’t need to say anything more. Seungcheol understood him. He always does.
Seungcheol closed the distance between them with two strides, pulling Jeonghan and pressing their bodies together as close as possible that even air wouldn’t be able to go through. They kissed each other hungrily, reveling in the discovery of each other’s feelings.
At one point, Seungcheol stopped kissing him and just buried his face on the crook of his neck. Jeonghan noticed he had distanced his body as well. “What are you doing?” he whispers.
“Let’s…” Seungcheol panted. “Let’s slow down. I’m-- you’re too hot and I want you so much.”
“You’re hard, aren’t you?” Jeonghan pulled the leader back towards him, hissing when this sudden move resulted to their clothed erections pressing against each other. “I am too.” he breathed against Seungcheol’s lips.
“Fuck, Hannie. We’re not supposed to go way past kissing.”
“We’re not?”
“We’re not. Come, let’s get you to bed.” Jeonghan would like to applaud the self control he didn’t know Seungcheol had. And despite him not liking the idea of them stopping, he allowed himself to be whisked away to his room. With Seungcheol even tucking him into bed. “You really want to make this night memorable by leaving me with blue balls?” Jeonghan asked.
“There’s an inner war going on inside me right now, believe me.”
“Who’s winning then?”
“Han…” came Seungcheol’s warning. Jeonghan just shrugs and turns away from him, letting him know he’s upset the night is ending earlier than he expected. “Would you feel better if I sleep here tonight?” Seungcheol asked.
“Maybe.”
The leader lets out a soft laugh as he peels the comforter off. Settling himself beside Jeonghan and pulling him into a hug. This felt like home. They’re no strangers to cuddling, having done this countless of times in the past. Not minding how the other members would look at them weirdly and question how they’re so comfortable locking limbs together.
“You better not leave in the middle of the night.”
“I won’t. I’m already thinking of moving in.”
“What else are you going to bring? Half of your closet is here already.”
Seungcheol laughs, “Point taken.” followed by silence and for a while there, Seungcheol thought the other man had already fallen asleep. “I like you so much, Jeonghan.” the leader whispered on his ear and then pressed his lips on Jeonghan’s nape.
“You’re still going to like me in the morning?”
“I’ve liked you all these years. Why do you think that would change tomorrow?”
“I thought you only said that because you were drunk. When did you even sober up?”
“I wasn’t that drunk, you know?” Seungcheol hugged him tighter. “I guess the alcohol just helped me get the words out because I was too afraid to tell you. And speaking of that, I should be the one asking you if you were serious about liking me too.”
“Why’s that?”
“You like teasing me.” Jeonghan didn’t have to look at the leader to know that he’s sulking. Oh Seungcheol.
“Idiot. Do you really think I’d do all that for fanservice?” Jeonghan says, referring to the countless of times they had to do skinship.
“Oh.”
“But I do have to reconsider, though. I mean, you did leave me hanging.” Jeonghan teased him once again, reminding him of how they’re earlier make out session got cut out short. He makes his point by snuggling the small of his back closer to the leader’s crotch, making Seungcheol groan. “Hannie, I swear to god if you don’t stop…”
“What then?” he tilted sideways, wanting to meet Seungcheol’s gaze. “You said you liked me all these years. Don’t tell me you’ve never had a dream about this?”
“I could go on forever about the kind of dreams I had with you in it. But I’m a gentleman and I don’t want to get in your pants on our first night together.” Seungcheol takes a deep breath. “You have no idea how much I want to, though.”
Seungcheol heaved a sigh of relief when Jeonghan finally dropped his agenda. After all, he’s only a man… one that had harbored so much affection towards the other and with all that pent up feelings, he didn’t know just for how long he can hold out-- especially with Jeonghan teasing him like that. Fortunately, Jeonghan settles into his arms and in a few minutes had allowed sleep to come to him.
Seungcheol slept that night grinning like an idiot.
The next morning, he woke up only to find Jeonghan’s side of the bed empty. He immediately panicked, thinking maybe Jeonghan’s really just drunk last night and have now started regretting the things that happened to them last night. Seungcheol took a quick trip to the bathroom to wash his face and was surprised to find Jeonghan back in the room. “Good morning snorlax.” he greets with a grin. “You must have had some good sleep last night. You were snoring like there’s no tomorrow--ah!” He gasped when he got pulled on the bed, landing on top of the leader. “Why did you leave?”
“I just went to buy something.” he pinched Seungcheol’s cheek. “Day 1 and you’re already this clingy. I really do have to rethink all these, don’t I?” Jeonghan was teasing the whole time, but Seungcheol’s expression remained serious. Jeonghan knows exactly why. “Don’t worry. Nothing’s changed. Nothing will. I like you.” then he pressed a kiss on Seungcheol’s lip. “So much, okay?” another kiss. And that seemed to have done it because the leader finally smiles.
“Now, on to more pressing issues. Let’s talk about those dreams you had about me, hm? We have the whole day.” Jeonghan smirked.
Seungcheol tucked his hair behind his ear. “We can’t. Because my dreams require lube and condoms and we don’t have that here.”
Jeonghan’s smirk grew even wider. “Why do you think I went to the convenience store this early, Cheollie?” then the room erupted with playful laughter as hands started tickling and clothes were shed.
