You keep me comin' back for more”

Notes:

Hi! Feel free to read this still if you want, but know the story is being rewritten to a better version on my new account @avalawrence. I’m not sure how much will be different, but I recommend waiting for this to be rewritten.

Chapter Text

Johnny flickers his eyes open, the mid-morning sunlight flooding over him. He instinctively closes his eyes again, holding on tighter and burying his face into the warm body next to him.

It’s kind of surprising that Daniel’s still in bed with him, the guy has always been a damn early riser, much to Johnny’s annoyance. Johnny glances over at the clock, not removing his arm from around Daniel’s middle. The clock reads 8:58, and that makes sense, Johnny knows it’s only minutes before Daniel makes them both get out of bed.

So, he might as well enjoy them.

He leans over and presses a soft kiss against Daniel’s cheek, and Daniel turns over, smiling warmly at his husband. And damn, waking up to that smile never gets old. Johnny smiles back, and leans down to brush against Daniel’s lips.

Daniel welcomes the kiss, sleepily and lazily. They’ve been doing this ever since they started sharing a bed on a regular basis, but it’s still just as good.

“Good morning, baby.” Daniel says between kisses, brown eyes beaming in the sunlight. He then breaks the kiss and sits up, going to get ready.

“Good morning.” Johnny says back, a little less enthusiastically, because if he had it his way, he’d stay in bed with Daniel until noon, maybe longer.

But, someone has to feed the kids. Even though they’re old enough to make their own breakfast. They insist on Daniel making it for them.

Johnny reluctantly gets out of bed, and follows Daniel into the shower, which they take together, hands running over smooth skin and lips brushing gently together. It’s rare for them to go farther than that, since Daniel’s a time-freak, and doesn’t want to be late to the dealership.

They do their usual routine, showering and brushing their teeth and throwing on clothes, followed by waking the kids up if they’re still sleeping, and then Daniel gets started on breakfast, while Johnny goes to feed the pets because he can’t cook for shit, that’s Daniel’s job.

The kids come down not long after, Sam actually dressed and looking ready to leave the house, while Robby is still in his pajamas and still half-asleep.

“Morning, kids.” Johnny and Daniel say in unison, both sitting at their usual seats on the indoor-table as Daniel puts pancakes one everyone’s plates.

“Whatever.” Robby mumbles, putting his head down. It’s not unusual for him to be moody, especially first thing in the morning. It’s gotten worse lately, the kid barely wants to talk to them, always leaving the house without telling them, and ignoring them when they try to lecture him for it.

“Nice to see you too, Robby.” Daniel rolls his eyes, and needless to say, he can’t wait until school starts next week, so this kid has something to do besides moan and groan.

“Good morning, dad. Can I go hang out with Moon today?” Sam smiles brightly, looking from Daniel to Johnny. At least one of their kids is still nice.

“Uh yeah, go ahead.” Johnny responds, making her smile wider. Assuming both kids and Daniel wouldn’t be home during the day, he decides to do some repair work.

It doesn’t make sense to a lot of people why a guy who lives in Encino Hills and technically owns part of the dealership would want to do repair work, but it gives Johnny something to do, and besides, he likes fixing things. He’ll probably just go back to fixing cars at the dealership eventually, but for now, he has this, even though it sucks sometimes.

Robby walks out and hops in his car the second breakfast is over, going god knows where. Moon picks Sam up a little later, since Sam isn’t old enough to drive, she may be in the same grade, but she’s still a year younger. Daniel and Johnny share a kiss before going to their jobs, looking forward for the day to be over.

~

Repairing people’s houses can get tiring, but at least Johnny has time to drive around, all over the city. His next job is at some place called Reseda Flats, and it goes by quick, and he’s just about to go back to his car, when some scrawny kid approaches him and starts yapping.

“Hey, I’m Miguel. I was wondering if you were having trouble with the water pressure, cause I know our sinks acting weird right now and-“ The kid goes on, and Johnny wonders who talks more, him or Daniel. He turns around to face the kid and well, he kind of looks like Daniel too, when he was seventeen. Kind of weird.

“Uh, sorry, I don’t live here, I live in Encino. I can come back later and fix it though, if you want.” Johnny cuts the kid off, shrugging. The kid looks disappointed but offers a friendly smile anyways.

“Oh, okay, thanks. Have a good day.” The kid waves, also looking confused, probably from the whole Encino guy being a repairman. What, can a guy not have a hobby?

“You too.” Johnny says before getting in his car, kind of relieved that not all teenage boys are moody as hell like his son. Daniel keeps saying that Robby will come around and start acting like himself again, they just have to talk to him, but so far, it’s not working.

Johnny decides to not think about Robby and drives off, trying to think optimistic. Maybe today won’t be so bad.

~

Then again, maybe not.

“No no no, I didn’t call her a bitch, I said she was bitching at me. There’s a difference.” Johnny rants into the phone, because okay, he did not call her a bitch. He just said she was bitching at him. “You’re firing me because of that bitch?” Johnny snaps, followed by dozens of curses. It doesn’t really matter whether he has this job or not, it’s just, the bitch never told him what wall to put the TV on, not his fault.

Well, this job sucked anyways. Johnny doesn’t need a job. Him and Daniel are fucking loaded.

(Okay, repairing shit is fun, but whatever.)

~

Johnny might’ve been a rich guy who lives in a nice Encino mansion, but sometimes he went to a mini-mart off of a Reseda strip mall and bought some cheap ass pizza. Honestly, he did this whenever Daniel was making sushi, because he fucking hated sushi, what the hell?

Daniel thinks it’s weird that he’ll eat pizza from a crappy gas station but not fresh sushi, but no, Daniel’s the weird one, fuck sushi. That’s not the reason he’s here today, though, it’s because he’s starving and the mini-mart was the closest thing.

Daniel is kind of right about the gas station being crappy, in all honestly. Johnny worked her back in the 80s for a bit, and it’s only gotten worse since then.

“Aren’t you gonna wear gloves?” Johnny exclaims, staring down the idiot on the other side of the counter. The guy glares right back, not listening him, the asshole.

“Oh hey, you’re the guy from earlier!” A voice sounds from behind Johnny, so he looks, and sees that kid from earlier, from Reseda Flats. Miguel or something.

“Yeah, hi.” Johnny mutters, only partially focused on the kid, paying more attention to the asshole who’s taking his sweet time getting his goddamn pizza.

“What are you doing here?” Miguel asks, again, probably questioning if Johnny is actually from Encino or not. Obviously he is, he just doesn’t wear nice clothes while repairing shit because he knows how that goes, and okay, sue him, he’ll actually eat gas station food.

“I-...hold on.” Johnny forgot what he was about to say, and turns to the guy again, slow motherfucker. “C’mon, what’s Spanish for ‘just give me my damn slice’?” The dude stands up and aggressively says something in Spanish, and judging by Miguel’s laughter, it probably wasn’t ‘give me my damn slice’.

“What did he say?” Johnny questions, turning to Miguel, who’s trying not to burst into a full fit of laughter.

“You don’t wanna know.” Miguel responds, shaking his head and smiling.

“I know it’s something bad, just tell me.” Johnny insists, wanting to know if he needed to take the slice of pizza and slap the guy with it.

“Uh, he said you have a tiny-...” Miguel trailed off, awkwardly gesturing down, and it didn’t take a genius to know what he was referring to. “He said I have a tiny wang? Tell him he has a tiny wang.” Johnny glowers, glaring daggers into the guy, who rolls his eyes and slams his pizza down on a plate. (Also, note, Johnny absolutely does not have a tiny wang. Just ask Daniel).

“I speak English, asshole.” The guy snaps, and Johnny mutters a ‘really’ before walking out to his car, getting in and locking the doors, specifically because of the homeless lady.

Johnny didn’t have anything against lower class people, obviously. He was dirt-poor himself at a few points in his life. No, it was because this particular homeless lady was, well, insane. He offered her money one time and she refused, saying she wants ‘meth and a burrito’. Yeah, Johnny’s just going to avoid her at all costs.

So he just sat there in the car, eating pizza and minding his own business, until the door to the mini-mart opens and a kid stumbles out, followed by a few other kids. Johnny can’t really see what’s happening but he hears yelling, and gets out of the car out of curiosity, just in time to see one of the kids punch what appeared to be Miguel in the face, knocking him over.

Now, Johnny isn’t the type of guy to just sit by and let that shit happen. Because what if it was Robby or Sam getting beat up, and someone had a chance to do something, but they didn’t? He wasn’t going to let something like that happen to anyone else’s kid.

“Hey, what the hell, man? You think it’s cool to wail on a kid half your size?” Johnny yells as he moves around the car, making his way over to the kids. He can’t really get a good look at any of them, the lighting is bad, but he still sees them close enough to threaten them. “Knock it off, dickhead.” Johnny approached one of them, and while he doesn’t plan on hitting a teenager, he balls his fist up.

“Get the hell out of here, loser.” One of them says, attempting to shove Johnny backwards, but failing, miserably.

Johnny didn’t waste another minute thinking about whether or not he should kick the shit out of these assholes, they were bullies and they deserved it.

He kicked towards the one who shoved him, nailing him right in the gut. And okay, ow, what the fuck. Johnny hasn’t done any moves related to karate ever since he taught Robby how to defend himself almost four years ago, and he’s fucking fifty-two so yeah, he’s pretty sure he pulled a muscle.

No time for that, though, the other’s were coming at him now, and Johnny wasn’t about to get beat by a bunch of dumb looking teenagers.

He took them down one by one, and apparently some of them just didn’t know when to quit, but Johnny was able to knock them back on their asses, not getting hit even once.

Once they were all laying on the ground and groaning like little bitches, Miguel ran up to him, looking both shook and excited.

“Woah, holy shit! That was so cool!” Miguel exclaims, looking the bullies laying on the ground with wide eyes. “Do you uh-...think you can teach me that?” Miguel asks, and Johnny doesn’t answer, because what the fuck? “Like, maybe you could open up your own karate school or something. I mean, when I go back to school they’re gonna make my life miserable and-“ Miguel goes on, pleading.

Johnny doesn’t know what to say. He never thought about opening his own dojo. What the hell would he even call it? (He knows what he would call it, he just doesn’t want to admit it). And sure, Johnny taught his own kids self defense, but that wasn’t different, that was ‘just in case’ and for fun, this was serious.

“Sorry kid, probably not-“ Johnny was cut off by cops running towards him and the next thing he knows, he’s on the ground, seeing black.

~

Johnny ended up having to call Daniel to bail him out, of course. Oh boy, it was going to be fun explaining what happened to him. Not really. Johnny was dreading every second that ticked by until Daniel picked him up, knowing he was going to get lectured.

It can’t be that wrong, right? If he recalls correctly, at the Halloween dance in 1984, Miyagi jumped down from a fucking fence like he was Spider-Man and kicked the ever living crap out of Dutch, Bobby, Tommy, and Jimmy (literally, he kicked Dutch in the balls). So, it was okay to teach them a lesson if they were bullies and deserved it, right? Surely Daniel would remember that, he was the one that almost got beat up, after all.

But when the cops tell Johnny that Daniel’s here and they escort him outside, Daniel looks annoyed, not angry, just very, very annoyed.

“Johnny, what the hell? You beat up a bunch of teenagers?” Daniel shouts as Johnny gets in the passengers seat of his car, head pounding because he’s pretty sure one of those cops knocked him out.

“They were picking on some kid half their size. I don’t tolerate that shit.” Johnny mutters, and Daniel visibly calms down, understanding where he’s coming from, just not too thrilled that his husband got arrested.

“God, you’re an idiot. I’m just glad you’re okay.” Daniel mumbles, before leaning over the console, meeting Johnny’s lips in a soft kiss that lasts only a second before Daniel pulls away again. “But stop doing dumb shit. I mean I’m glad you stood up for some kid, but-“ Johnny cuts him off with another kiss, just wanting Daniel to shut up. This time it’s longer, more passionate, deeper, Johnny’s hands cupping Daniel’s face.

“Anyone ever tell you that you talk too much?” Johnny teases once he breaks away, pressing his forehead against Daniel’s and grinning. He’s probably get scolded some more later, but for now, he looks into Daniel’s Bambi eyes, admiring his playful grin.

“Oh, everyday.”

~

The next night, Daniel and Johnny were sitting on the couch watching movies, Johnny’s arm wrapped around Daniel and Daniel’s head leaning against his shoulder.

Johnny was thinking about Miguel asked, about whether or not he should train him. It would be a good thing to teach a kid to defend himself but, he just doesn’t know what he’s going to do.

For now, though, he holds Daniel close, enjoying his presence. It’s nice to have some alone time with him, especially since the kids (mostly Sam, Robby’s still not really talking to them) have constantly been asking questions about his arrest since he got back. He told them the truth, that he was defending someone, and they (again, mostly Sam) thought it was pretty cool he kicked some ass, so there was that.

Johnny was broken out of his thoughts by one of the dealership commercials coming on the TV, and of course it was the one where Daniel enters practically yelling ‘banzai’. If Johnny had a nickel for every time he heard that everyday, he’d be a damn billionaire.

He goes to change the channel, ignoring Daniel’s protests. But to his suspense, the remote wasn’t working, which has happened many times before. It wasn’t because it didn’t have any batteries, they’d just changed them a couple of days ago. It was because Johnny slammed it against the coffee table every time the TV did something he didn’t like.

“Aw fuck, the remote’s broken again!” Johnny exclaims, throwing it to the floor, because he was pretty sure it was supposed to be high-quality. What a rip-off.

“Babe, how many times do I have to tell you, don’t slam the remote on the table!” Daniel scolds, smacking Johnny’s arm.

“Sorry. Not really though, it was pissing me off.” Johnny shrugs, uncaring. Daniel decided that were going to Best Buy now, since they had the time. He made Johnny drive, since it was his fault the remote was broken, the dumbass.

On the way there, they drove by the back of the school, which was where the soccer field was. Neither Johnny or Daniel had been there in ages, sure, they dropped the kids off at the high school, but they never went to the soccer field, not since high school.

Daniel remembers the first time he was there, and not just the fact that him and Bobby got into a fight on that field, it was because that’s where him and Johnny had their first ‘civil’ conversation.

-

“Yeah, yeah. So, what’s your name?” Daniel finally looked up at him suspiciously. He wasn’t uncomfortable or anything, he felt like he had known this guy for years, even though it had just been a day, not even that. A thing he knew for sure was that this guy was a hothead, that he had learned from last night.

But one look at those pretty blue eyes, and he could tell he was being genuine and actually wanted to know his name. He had to keep it cool though, didn’t want to scare him off or show interest in him and end up getting his ass kicked, because he knew boys weren’t supposed to like boys. (That wasn’t stopping him though).

“Why do you wanna know?” The Jersey boy asked anyways. He would keep up that sassy front to avoid any suspicion of his crush. His crush that he acknowledged but was scared to admit because he feared what would happen if anyone found out.

“Come on, I’m tryna be your friend here, asshole.” Again, no sense of hate in his voice. Just playfulness. Daniel finally managed to keep eye contact with him, keeping their eyes locked instead of letting his eyes trail down to those lips that looked so soft, so kissable. The boy almost lost his voice and had to clear his throat to find it again.

“Fine. It’s Daniel. Daniel LaRusso. You?” So that was his name. Daniel. That name was going to make his heart skip a beat every time he heard it now. And Daniels voice was going to be burned into his mind. It was soft and a bit raspy due to his New Jersey accent. But that made him appealing, that he was different from every person around here. He stood out in the crowd, that’s certain.

“I’m Johnny. Johnny Lawrence. So, you’re one hell of a show off, aren’t you?” Daniel finally couldn’t hold eye contact anymore, and let his eyes work their way down to the other boys lips. He watched as they moved from every word the blonde spoke with that adoring voice of his. Daniel couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to kiss those lips. He knew the guy, who’s name he found out was Johnny (because he had been listening, despite checking him out), could see what he was doing. But he pretended not to notice, although there was a slight devilish smirk on his lips.

-

Johnny thinks back to that too, and damn, he’s glad he approached Daniel before Ali did. Things could’ve gone entirely different. Maybe he would’ve talked to him eventually, but either way, that was the first time in a long time that he ever apologized. Daniel changed him so much, made him want to be better.

He doesn’t think either of them will ever forget that day, the day they became actual friends.

And then, miles later, they’re driving by the place where they held the All Valley Tournaments. Why was all of this on their way to Best Buy? Talk about memory lane.

“Hey, look.” Says Johnny, swerving the car to the right and heading towards the All Valley place. He doesn’t know why he’s doing it, but he does.

“Oh come on, the remote?” Daniel rolls his eyes, and obviously he’s ignored.

“Just a quick stop.” Johnny murmurs, parking the car at the entrance, and then getting out to step over the fence. Daniel hesitantly follows, hopefully they won’t get in trouble for trespassing. But he forgets about that, when a wave of memories hit him.

The last time they were here, in this parking lot, was after the tournament in ‘85. Johnny had a broken knee, so Daniel had to carefully help him out, balancing Johnny with one arm and leading him to the car. They were both a little shaken up and scarred from everything that happened, but at the same time, they were glad it was over, and they were glad they still had each other.

“Damn, it’s been ages since we’ve been here.” Daniel remarks. Has it really been over thirty years?

“Yeah. It really has.” Johnny agrees, reaching down to grab Daniel’s hand. He avoids looking at a certain spot at the parking lot, knowing exactly what he’ll think about. He knew he would, coming here, but something told him to do it anyways.

He won two tournaments here, participated in more than that. All of them except one, he was with Cobra Kai, and he won, he felt proud of himself for once in his life. Cobra Kai made him tough. But then, the last two times, he was against Cobra Kai, because of-

“Hey, remember back in ‘84, when you quit and kissed me in front of everyone? That was pretty brave of you, y’know.” Daniel breaks through Johnny’s thoughts, as if he can tell what he’s thinking. And it works, too, because Johnny’s blank expression turns into a smile.

-

“Wait Johnny, people will see.” Daniel placed his hands on Johnny’s chest, preventing the boy from reaching his goal. Johnny just smiled down at him, shaking his head. That wasn’t a problem anymore.

“I don’t care about that. Not anymore.” He didn’t give a flying fuck about what other people thought. The only exception was Sid, who could send him off to some military school if he wanted to, but the old man wasn’t here so he wasn’t a problem. And Johnny was allowed to be with Daniel if he wanted too, screw what anyone else thinks. If someone didn’t like it, they could go fuck themselves. He didn’t care anymore.

Daniel never cared about what people thought. If someone had a problem, he’d kick their ass. He was in love with Johnny, and he wasn’t ashamed of that.

“Then kiss me.” It felt like they were the only two people in the room. The crowd was gone, Kreese was gone, and it was just them. Johnny leaned back down, finally pressing his lips against Daniel’s.

And suddenly everything felt right. Really, really right. Johnny felt free. Truly free.

-

Johnny turns to face Daniel, not letting go of his hand, and using is other one to stroke his cheek, gently. Daniel leans into the touch, moving closer to Johnny, to where their lips are only inches apart.

Of course Johnny remembers that, how could he not? That was when he broke free, he let go of his worries about what everyone else thought, and kissed Daniel in front of everyone, knowing the risks, but not caring. And because of that, he felt proud of himself for the third year in a row. Daniel made him proud, Daniel made him happy, he always did.

“Well, Danny, I’d do it all over again, because look where we are now.” Johnny pauses, to break the distances between their lips and he kisses Daniel, a short, tender peck. “I love you.” He finishes, smiling dreamily.

“I love you too, blondie.” Daniel grins, and Johnny playfully glares at him, because really? Fucking blondie, that’s one he hasn’t heard in a while. “Hey, don’t give me that look, it’s not my fault you still have those golden locks.” Daniel chuckles, bringing a hand up to comb it through Johnny’s hair.

Johnny captures his lips in a kiss after that, and for a moment, everything is peaceful, everything is right.

Until he hears a crash from next to him, and him and Daniel are breaking apart in a flash, turning to the Firebird and seeing that someone rear ended it, and were now driving off, before either of them could see the license plate.

“What the hell!” Johnny exclaims, nearly chasing after the car to tell whoever hit his car to come out and face him, but Daniel grabs the back of his shirt and leads them to the car, to call a tow company.

And if they didn’t have their own dealership where they could get free repairs, Johnny would’ve swatted Daniel away and would’ve ran down the street to chase that motherfucker down, because what the fuck?

First he gets fired, and then arrested, and now his precious Firebird gets rear-ended? This week was just, not good, at all.

~

Daniel drove Johnny down to the dealership first thing the next day, to see if the car was ready. Johnny would’ve liked to go tell them to hurry the fuck up, but instead Daniel dragged him to the parking lot, with all of the newest cars, trying to convince him to get a new one.

And to be fair, Johnny’s been driving that car since the 80s. But he’s kept it in really good shape, he does not want a new car, not at all.

“Johnny, maybe it’s time you get a new car.” Daniel suggests for the thousandth time, attempting to show Johnny that there are much, much newer cars. Johnny doesn’t look at them, he’s too busy glaring at Daniel.

“I’ve had that car since the 80s, man!” Johnny defends, throwing his hands in the air.

“Exactly! It’s time for a new one.” Daniel shoots back, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow.

“I used to take you on dates with that car!Okay, I mainly drove us on the motorcycle, but we fucked in the backseat once!” Johnny says, a little louder than he intended to. (It’s true, they had a lot of fun back there in high school, between prom and graduation).

“Really, Johnny? People can hear you.” Daniel grumbles, awkwardly glancing around to see the looks some of the customers were shooting them. He can’t really blame them. If he heard someone say something like that, in public, he’d be looking at them all the same.

“Hey, I’m just stating facts here.” Johnny shrugs, sliding in close to Daniel, tuning his voice down to a whisper, moving his hand down to Daniel’s waist. “And I didn’t hear you complaining when my d-“ Johnny doesn’t finish his sentence, when a familiar voice sounds from behind them, making Daniel shove him off when they realize who it is.

“Uh...dads?” Sam looks at them awkwardly, and Daniel really, really hopes she didn’t overhear what Johnny was saying. That’s one way to scar a kid for life.

“Hey, princess.” Johnny holds back a laugh as Daniel turns a dark shade of red, hiding his face from Sam, who he’s pretty sure had no idea what Johnny was saying.

“What are you two doing?” Sam wonders, and Daniel lets out a sigh of relief, and Johnny lets out a nervous laugh.

“Some dumbass ran into the Firebird while we were out last night. Did some damage on it.” Daniel explains, and Johnny groans out of frustration at the reminder. Sam’s eyes widen in shock and her lips slightly part, and she looks more horrified than she does surprised. Johnny doesn’t know why, maybe she liked the car just as much as he did?

“It was a hit and run too. When I find out whoever the fuck did this, I’m going to kick their ass seven ways from Sunday-...” Johnny adds, but trails off, the rest of what he’s saying turning into incoherent mumbles.

“Oh-...uh-...I’m sorry, that really sucks.” Sam sounds like she’s at a lost for words and looks at the ground, fiddling her thumbs. She looks kind of guilty, kind of nervous and scared, and Johnny can’t pinpoint why, and assumes it’s because she feels bad for him.

“Nah, not your fault. How about we go get some ice cream?” Johnny suggests, seeking an escape from his debate with Daniel. Daniel sighs in defeat, knowing there’s no way he’s talking Johnny into getting a new car.

Instead they go and get ice cream, like they used to when the kids were little, except Robby isn’t here. Which, sucks. But still, at least they have Sam, even though she left early to go hang out with her friends. They get it, she’s growing up, but that doesn’t make it any easier.

~

Johnny thought the weirdest thing that he did this summer would be Robby getting his drivers permit or punching a guy at Applebees (that guy being Louie, sometimes family dinners go terribly wrong), but he never thought that it would be bringing Cobra Kai back.

He thought (most of it) it through, so he could say that. Even years ago, Johnny thought about how nice it would be to change Cobra Kai. He realizes, it wasn’t Cobra Kai that almost ruined his life (and Daniel’s life), it was Kreese (and Silver). What they taught was fucked, so fucked.

But, Johnny could change it. He remembers being a scared little kid himself, having no friends and getting picked on by his fellow students. And then, Cobra Kai came along, and he became badass. The thing is, if Kreese didn’t fuck with his head so much, he might’ve been okay, he might not have become so aggressive.

Johnny isn’t Kreese. His Cobra Kai will be different. Strike first and strike hard are good lessons when it comes to self defense, no mercy can be changed to some mercy, and he isn’t going to degrade any kids. He only plans on training Miguel for now, but either way, he isn’t going to fuck them up, or try to make them aggressive and a bully.

He was going to toughen them up, teach them how to defend themselves, make them badass, but not a bully, because there’s a difference. (He was also going to make them clean windows and shit, just to add some of Miyagi’s methods, to make it better).

The Firebird was fixed the next day, and Johnny drove over to Reseda Flats, because he was pretty sure that was where Miguel lived. The kid was outside, playing some weird game on his phone, but looked up, surprised to see Johnny there.

“Hey kid, I was doing some thinking, and well, I got nothing better to do, so I could train you, if you want.” Johnny shrugs, watching Miguel’s face light up with excitement.

“So you’re gonna be my new karate teacher?” Miguel jumps up, almost dropping his phone in the process. Johnny almost laughs, this kid has a lot of learning to do.

“No, I’m gonna be your sensei.”

Johnny decided to rent a space at the strip mall in Reseda, since it was close to Miguel’s apartment and the kid was fifteen, so he couldn’t drive, and it would be easier for him to get there if it was closer.

He knew by now how to rent a building, and signed all of the papers, but didn’t officially open it yet, because he just wanted to start with Miguel. At least all of that was out of the way.

Now, the only hard part would be telling Daniel. Johnny loved him more than anything, and he knew how Daniel felt about Cobra Kai, he despised it. But maybe if Johnny told him how he was going to change him, told him it would be different, then he’d listen, and understand.

Still, telling him was not going to be easy.

Notes:

Let the shitshow begin!
