Taehyung liked to think he was a good roommate. He never complained when Yoongi’s music was a little too loud or when he turned their living room into a glorified blanket mountain. He didn’t have parties and he cleaned up after himself. Mostly. Sometimes. If, maybe, Yoongi did his laundry or cleaned the apartment more often than not, that didn’t mean he wasn’t clean. He did the dishes at least!
But that wasn’t the point.
The point was he was a good roommate and he didn’t complain about most things. That evening, however, Taehyung felt himself rollover with a frown, his eyes darting towards the wall in the general direction of the door he’d just heard slam. Yoongi had come home nearly a half-hour earlier with some dude. Taehyung didn’t know who since he’d been in his room at the time, but he’d heard Yoongi’s tell-tale giggles and another masculine voice.
Taehyung honestly didn’t care about that. Their rooms were far enough apart that he almost never heard anything anyway and Yoongi was entitled to a social life. Plus, Taehyung also brought people home from time to time, so he wasn’t upset about the random guy in their apartment. He was upset about being woken up by the front door closing angrily though.
Is hyung okay?
Somewhat startled that he hadn’t been worried immediately, Taehyung scrambled out of bed and went looking for Yoongi. He expected to find him in his room, but instead, he was in the kitchen, his head stuck in the fridge. Taehyung could see his boxers and the edge of his shirt, but little else. Not until Yoongi stood up and forcefully closed the fridge.
Seeing him now, it was obvious Yoongi had just had sex. His hair was a mess and his neck looked like someone had painted it red. Consider Taehyung knew Yoongi hated hickeys, he had a feeling that contributed to his clear anger. But Taehyung wasn’t going to assume, so he cleared his throat. “You good, hyung?”
Yoongi’s head snapped around, his expression frustrated, before it softened and his shoulders relaxed. “Ah, sorry, Taehyungie. Did I wake you?”
“No,” Taehyung assured him, coming to lean against the kitchen table, “but whoever slammed the door sure did.”
Grimacing, Yoongi poured himself some water then returned the jug to the fridge. “Sorry.”
Taehyung scanned him from head to toe. “Not a good night?”
“It was,” Yoongi said slowly. “Didn’t end well.”
“No?” Taehyung asked, looking pointedly at his neck.
Yoongi grimaced again. “He didn’t listen to the ‘no hickeys’ part of my preferences apparently. Or anything else really.”
Taehyung blinked, somewhat panicked. “He didn’t—”
Waving Taehyung’s worry away quickly, Yoongi shook his head. “No, he just had his own idea of what was good and it wasn’t for me.”
“I’m sorry, hyung.”
“Happens sometimes,” Yoongi said with a shrug. “Can’t be compatible with everyone.”
Wanting to lighten the mood, Taehyung scrunched his nose. “I’m sorry, speak for yourself. I’ve never had that problem.”
Yoongi snorted and shook his head. “Right, of course. Just me then.”
“Just you,” Taehyung agreed easily.
Smiling slightly, Yoongi sighed and pushed himself off the counter. Moving slowly, he patted Taehyung’s chest, just above his heart, before continuing out of the kitchen. “Night, Tae. Sorry for waking you.”
“Goodnight, hyung,” Taehyung said softly, watching Yoongi go before returning to bed himself, his concern over Yoongi’s sexual exploits already forgotten.
That should have been the end of it. One conversation about one shitty sexual encounter and that’s it. But it kept happening. Not so much the door slamming, most people weren’t as easily angered as the first guy apparently, but by Taehyung’s count, three other men had left in the middle of the night, leaving Yoongi to open and close random doors in the kitchen passive-aggressively.
By guy number five, Taehyung was growing a bit concerned. He didn’t really know why but it couldn’t be a good thing that Yoongi was continuously sending men away, right? At least this time Yoongi wasn’t slamming things around. Instead, he was just on the couch wrapped up in a blanket watching Animal Planet. He didn’t look like he was paying attention but his eyes were glued to the screen so Taehyung didn’t comment. He did drop down on the couch beside Yoongi though, having lifted his feet and placed them on his lap so he could fit.
“Wanna talk about it?” Taehyung wondered, his attention half on the squid that was currently moving across the screen.
Yoongi didn’t look over. “Talk about what?”
“Why you’ve kicked five different dudes out at like three in the morning maybe.”
“It’s only two.”
“Hyung.”
Sighing, Yoongi rolled onto his back and shifted so he was sitting against the armrest. “What do you want me to say?”
“I don’t know,” Taehyung admitted. Mostly because he didn’t. He had no idea what was going on with Yoongi. All he knew was that something had to be. Maybe it was possible not to be compatible with one or two hook-ups, but five? That screamed ‘something else is going on.’ So Taehyung said so. “I just… is something wrong?”
“What would be wrong?” Yoongi asked, raising a brow.
“The blue-haired guy from tonight makes five, hyung,” Taehyung told him.
“You’ve been counting?”
“You haven’t?”
Yoongi grimaced and looked away, his arms crossing defensively. “I don’t really want to talk about it.”
Scanning Yoongi’s face and seeing nothing but stubbornness, Taehyung nodded. “Okay. Let’s watch squids punch fish.”
“Octopuses.”
“What?” Taehyung asked, his gaze returning to the TV.
“Octopuses punch fish, not squids.”
Taehyung hummed. “Is it octopuses or octopi?”
“Octopuses. It comes from a Greek word, not Latin.”
“I like octopi better.”
Yoongi snorted. “Everyone does. That doesn’t mean it’s right.”
“I’m going to call them octopi anyway,” Taehyung decided, smiling when he saw Yoongi’s lips quirk up.
“You do that, Tae.”
“I will,” Taehyung confirmed playfully.
They lapsed into silence then, both idly watching the footage of the seafloor and listening to the British man explaining what they were seeing. Taehyung liked Animal Planet so he was content just to watch it, but Yoongi had other plans. The episode had changed, now focusing on a desert somewhere, when Taehyung heard Yoongi mutter something just loud enough for him to hear but not enough to understand.
“What’d you say?”
Yoongi frowned and shifted awkwardly. “None of them can make me come.”
“Come where?” Taehyung questioned, confused. Yoongi wasn’t exactly anti-social but it wasn’t surprising people had a problem getting him to go somewhere; Yoongi would usually go when asked though, especially if he cared about the person asking.
“No, Tae, god,” Yoongi bemoaned, his cheeks tinting red. “Like come.”
Taehyung furrowed his brows. “I heard you. I don’t— oh. I see.”
“So that’s the problem,” Yoongi said quickly, his eyes darting around the room like he couldn’t bear to look at Taehyung. Which, given the colour of his face, Taehyung figured was exactly why.
“I see,” Taehyung said slowly. “But, um, you can… normally?”
Yoongi made a sound low in his throat, like he was in physical pain, before nodding quickly. “Yea, that’s not— I’m fine.”
Taehyung scratched his cheek. “So that’s why you’ve been kicking them out?”
“Kinda. The first one didn’t even try. Just finished and rolled away. That’s why he was so angry when he left. I told him to get lost. But the other ones were just embarrassed, I guess.”
“You guess?” Taehyung asked.
Yoongi’s eyes flicked to Taehyung then away. “I’m… a bit demanding. So they were… aware of what they were doing. Or rather, weren’t doing.”
“Awe, hyung, did you embarrass them?” Taehyung teased, his smile brightening as he pictured Yoongi chastising a random man for not taking care of his partner’s needs. Only Yoongi would be able to pull that off, of that Taehyung was certain.
Huffing, Yoongi crossed his arms. “I’m not going to pretend for the sake of their ego. Make me come or get out.”
Taehyung slapped a hand over his mouth, trying to suppress his laugh but he was too late. It escaped just before he could muffle it and Yoongi heard, his lips falling into a pout as he looked at Taehyung indignantly. “Sorry, hyung, oh my god. Did you actually say that?”
“Maybe.”
“Holy fuck. What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall,” Taehyung gasped out as he tried to regulate his breathing and stop laughing. Now all he could picture was a dishevelled Yoongi telling his partner to leave and it was priceless. Again, only Yoongi. Sometimes Taehyung wondered if there was anything Yoongi couldn’t do.
“Weird. There was the actual sex part before that,” Yoongi pointed out as he rolled his eyes, though he was glad Taehyung wasn’t making to weird. They didn’t not talk about their sex lives but they’d also never been this specific so it was new ground for them, which easily could have been awkward. He should have known Taehyung wouldn’t make it that way though. He was the king of making people comfortable.
Taehyung rolled his eyes right back. “I was obviously talking about the aftermath. What did you say?”
Yoongi shifted again. “Just that I wasn’t enjoying it and hadn’t come, which they could obviously tell, and I wasn’t about to settle for a sloppy handjob. I can do that myself.”
“God, I love you. Okay, and what did they say?”
“Depends. They all tried though but after a while I just… lost interest.”
“Talk about an ego killer,” Taehyung commented. “Don’t know what I’d do if I was having sex with a guy and he just said to stop and go.”
“Well, don’t come before your partner and you’re already doing better.”
“Like I ever would,” Taehyung denied quickly. “It’s just not gentlemanly.”
Shaking his head, Yoongi relaxed into the cushions and shrugged. “Tell them that.”
“Maybe you’re just picking the wrong partners. I know you have a muscle kink, but you gotta branch out,” Taehyung advised him.
“First of all, I don’t have a muscle kink. It’s more that big dudes like me because I’m smaller than them and it strokes their masculinity. Second of all, you’re the one who said five is a lot. It’s probably me. Head’s not in the game.”
Taehyung blinked. “Did you just quote High School Musical?”
“Maybe.”
“I have so much to say about that but I’ve going to move on for the sake of your sex life.”
“Oh, yea?”
“Yea,” Taehyung confirmed. “Five is a lot but I can guarantee it’s not you. They’re just not doing their job right.”
Yoongi stretched his arms out, his fingers interlaced as he reached back until he heard his back crack. When he settled back down, he raised a brow at Taehyung in amusement. “Right. Mr. Compatible with Everyone. I forgot.”
“I am,” Taehyung replied. “I listen to my partners and give them what they want. I could make you come easily.”
“W-what?” Yoongi stuttered out, his eyes darting away and landing on the TV. The narrator was in a forest now. Yoongi hadn’t even realized enough time had passed for an entire episode to finish.
What was even happening?
Taehyung’s eyes widened slightly as he finally registered what he’d just said. He hadn’t intended for it to sound like a proposition but it definitely had and now Yoongi was blushing and staring at the TV and Taehyung was trying to figure out why he’d said that. It had just sorta slipped out. He’d mostly wanted to convince Yoongi that there wasn’t anything wrong with him but it wasn’t like Yoongi seemed that concerned about it so Taehyung really hadn’t needed to offer any comfort. So he’d just accidentally propositioned one of his best friends for no reason. Fabulous. Jimin was going to have a field day with this.
“Um, I’m just saying, I could. You know, because I listen. A-anyone like me could. It’s not you. Obviously.”
Yoongi’s eyes flicked back to Taehyung then away again before he nodded slowly. “Right.”
“Right,” Taehyung echoed.
“Right,” Yoongi said again, making Taehyung wince at the awkwardness of it all.
Way to go moron. Way to make hyung feel uncomfortable.
“Sorry, hyung. I didn’t mean—”
“No, no, don’t worry. Hyung isn’t uncomfortable,” Yoongi assured him quickly, having guessed what Taehyung’s apology would be as a brief smile ghosted across his lips. “Just thinking.”
“Oh?”
“Yea,” Yoongi confirmed without further comment, making Taehyung feel uneasy. For some reason, he didn’t like that. Nothing good came from Yoongi thinking.
“If I said to you, ‘I could make you come easily’ what would you say?”
Namjoon lowered his coffee cup and looked over at Yoongi. “I’d say that Jin-hyung would cut off both our dicks before feeding them to us if he even thought you were serious.”
Yoongi rolled his head. “Yes, obviously I’m not serious. I’m asking your opinion.”
“Well, I’d say my reaction gives a pretty good idea of my opinion. I’d think you were hitting on me. Who says that and isn’t?”
“Right? That’s what I thought,” Yoongi agreed without adding more details.
Namjoon continued to stare at him, waiting for more, but Yoongi didn’t continue. “Oh, come on. You can’t just leave it like that!”
“Don’t you have work to do?” Yoongi asked instead, raising an eyebrow.
“I’m on break. Now spill.”
Yoongi crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair, his index finger tapping on his forearm, letting Namjoon know Yoongi was at least a little anxious about whatever this was. After a few more seconds, Yoongi sighed. “Taehyung said that to me over the weekend.”
“In what context?” Namjoon questioned.
“We were talking— god, why I have to keep telling people this,” Yoongi lamented. “I’ve had a series of bad hookups. Like bad. He asked me why so I told him, said something about it maybe being me, like I was distracted or something.”
“Possible. Stress can interfere with sexual pleasure,” Namjoon told him, looking contemplative.
“Yea, anyway, he says no that’s not it and then… that.”
Namjoon pursed his lips. “Yea, it still sounds like a pick-up line. Even with the context.”
“That’s what I thought! But he looked kinda panicked after he said it so I don’t think he meant it.”
“Do you… want him to mean it?” Namjoon asked slowly, his eyes fixed on Yoongi’s face.
“No, of course not,” Yoongi said quickly. “We’re friends.”
“Uh-huh. So are you and Jin-hyung but you’ve hooked up.”
Yoongi huffed. “That was years ago before we were actually friends. We were acquaintances at best then.”
“Still,” Namjoon said with a shrug.
“And we live together.”
“So?”
“Well, that would make it awkward.”
“Make what awkward?”
“Hooking up,” Yoongi clarified, his hand gesturing snappishly.
“Who said anything about hooking up? All I asked was if you wanted him to mean it. Seems you jumped a few steps,” Namjoon pointed out, his eyebrow raised.
“I— well, that’s the logical jump, isn’t it?” Yoongi defended weakly, his mind racing. Did he want Taehyung to mean it? He hadn’t really thought about it. At least not in that context. He had been fixating on the potential proposition aspect, but he hadn’t stopped to think about why he was so concerned about it. Did he want to have sex with Taehyung? Yoongi frowned to himself, unaware of Namjoon’s somewhat knowing gaze, and thought it over. Taehyung was one of his best friends and someone he felt comfortable around. He was objectively very attractive and treated him well. If Yoongi was going to sleep with one of his friends, he supposed Taehyung made the most sense. He was the only one that didn’t cause his brain to come to a screeching halt while considering it.
Taehyung? Really? Your friend Taehyung? You’re just horny. Chill out.
“So, what’s the verdict?” Namjoon wondered idly when he saw Yoongi’s attention return to him.
“I’m just horny.”
“TMI.”
“You asked.”
“Remind me never to do that again,” Namjoon said solemnly, even as he mentally started placing bets. He gave it a week, tops, before Yoongi returned to Taehyung. Yoongi was a man of many feelings but aware of them he was not. At least not in regards to Taehyung. That appeared to be the mother of all blind spots.
“Does that feel good, baby?”
Yoongi sighed into his pillow, his cheek squished as he stared somewhat blankly at his own nightstand. He needed to refinish it. The colour was faded in some spots.
“Baby?”
“Yea, it feels good,” Yoongi assured Woojin. Woohyun? Woo something or other. He couldn’t actually remember. Yoongi had been out with Seokjin and Namjoon and he’d bought him a few drinks so here they were. Namjoon would say Yoongi was deflecting. Yoongi would say he was horny. Neither was wrong but the fact remained that Yoongi very much wasn’t enjoying his current encounter. Not that he was doing anything wrong. His dick was big enough and was stretching him nicely. He was even hitting all the right spots. Yoongi just wasn’t into it. Everything felt good in a vague sort of way. In the way a lacklustre orgasm did. If he came at all. Somehow he doubted it.
His hunch was confirmed when he felt a hand on the middle of his back pushing him further down and then the thrusts he’d been mildly enjoying turning sloppy. After a few more minutes, Woo-whatever came and Yoongi sighed again, collapsing onto the bed as he rolled off.
Yoongi watched idly as Woo- to be determined cleaned up, waving him away when he tried to help him too. In that time, though it was only a few minutes, Yoongi went completely soft and sat up, hoping that Woo-ish thought it was because he’d come. Yoongi wasn’t in the mood to deal with another bruised ego tonight.
“Do you want me to stay?” he asked, his smile satisfied, as if Yoongi was going to beg him to cuddle or something. Yoongi did like cuddling, but he preferred to actually be sexually satisfied when he did it. Right now all he had was an aggressive unsatisfied itch that was edging on irritating and no desire to cuddle.
“Nah, I have to be up in the morning for work.”
“Bummer. Can I get your number?”
“Sure,” Yoongi agreed, holding out his hand. He typed in his number quickly then handed it back. A few seconds later he saw his own phone light up and the message It’s Woosung flash across the screen. He felt slightly validated that he’d remembered at least the first part of his name before he smiled up weakly as he put away his phone.
“See you around?”
“Sure,” Yoongi said again, waving vaguely as he left. Only when he heard the door close did he collapse on the bed with a sigh.
That makes six.
I could make you come easily.
Yoongi rolled over and shoved his face in his pillow so he could scream. He didn’t get what his problem was. He’d been fine a month ago and literally nothing had changed since then. His last encounter before this downward spiral had made him come so hard Taehyung had heard it from across the apartment and that had never happened before. But now he was thinking about refinishing his goddamn bedside table in the middle of getting dicked down? Who did that? There had to be something wrong with him.
I could make you come easily.
Screaming again, Yoongi smacked his own face against the pillow. It didn’t hurt but it did make him feel a bit better. At least until his mind wandered back to Woosung and then he was upset again.
This had to stop.
I could make you come easily.
“Motherfucker,” Yoongi snapped as he scrambled out of bed and hastily pulled on the closest thing he could find. It ended up being his boxers and an oversized shirt tossed on his desk chair he vaguely recognized as Taehyung’s, which is why he’d thrown it there instead of putting it away. He was supposed to give it back after he did laundry but hadn't gotten around to it. But that didn’t really matter to Yoongi as he stormed across the apartment and knocked on Taehyung’s door loudly. He wasn’t thinking about what he was wearing or even really what he was doing. He was just frustrated and horny and that damn phrase kept echoing in his mind.
“Hyung?” Taehyung answered, one hand rubbing his eye as he clearly tried to wake himself up. He took one look at Yoongi and frowned, taking in his dishevelled state, general piqued atmosphere, and the fact he was wearing one of Taehyung’s shirts. “Another one?”
“Did you mean it?”
“Mean what?” Taehyung asked, his desire to go back to bed making him slow.
“That you could make me come.”
Taehyung dropped his hand, his mouth opening and closing a few times as he stared at Yoongi in shock. Yoongi hadn’t just said what he thought he’d said right? “What?”
“Did you mean it or not?” Yoongi repeated, his frustration leaking into his voice.
“I— well, yes. Of course I did,” Taehyung admitted slowly, still in shock.
“Then prove it,” Yoongi demanded, his shoulders straightening and his eyes narrowing. “Prove that you can make me come.”
