Work Header

Of Stolen Chips, Tests, and Bakugou Secretly Being a Thirteen Year Old

Summary:

“Pfft- imagine calling someone three years younger than you a mom!” Bakugou cackles so hard he almost falls of the bed he’s occupying, and tears form in the corners of his eyes.

Everyone stares at him like he’s an alien.

“What?” He asks, and the laughter dies out after nobody else joins.

Or; Author has had an idea stuck in their head for the past few days.

So I-

I have no idea what this is but here have my random fic.

Work Text:

“Stop bullying me,” Sero groaned, stretching out the ‘e’. Mina grabbed another one of Sero’s crackers un-remorsefully. “If you’re going to eat my crackers, at least take them from the bag and not straight from my hand! It’s so annoying!”

She swung her arm around his shoulders.

“Aww, you still love me though.” Sero pouts, and Kirishima barks out a laugh.

“Hey, what do you guys wanna watch?” Mina reaches over to grab the remote and flicks the T.V. on. “Too bad Blasty’s not here, he usually has pretty good recommendations.”

“Pfft, yeah right, maybe for you. I personally don’t like watching people being torn apart by giant monsters and zombies.” Mina waggled her eyebrows at Sero, who snorted again.

“But those are the best kinds of movies!”

“Are you secretly a sadist like Kacchan?” Denki plops down on the couch and grabs the cracker right as Sero begins to raise it to his mouth.

“What is with you guys!?! Let me eat my crackers!” Denki slowly bites of a part of the stolen food mockingly.

“Don’t you think you should be getting some sleep before the test tomorrow?” The voice comes from behind, and they all turn to see Todoroki standing in the doorway in his penguin pyjamas.

“𝘛𝘌𝘚𝘛?” Kaminari screeches. “We have a 𝘛𝘌𝘚𝘛 tomorrow?” Todoroki walks to the kitchen and starts the kettle.

Kirishima realises that Todoroki’s right, they do have a test tomorrow. The only thing is... Kirishima kind of wasn’t listening during the past few lessons. He’s been tired lately, okay?

From the looks of it, the rest of the squad didn’t seem to have payed much attention either, because they all paled slightly and looked at Kirishima, who shook his head in a silent ‘I can’t help’. Todoroki pours his tea and leaves, oblivious to the Bakusquad’s problems.

“What do we do?” Kaminari throws his hands up dramatically. “Did you take notes Sero?”

Sero shakes his head. “I tried to, I just didn’t understand what he was saying! Why is it even important to study chemistry when I’m going to be a hero? I bet Bakugou can help anyways.”

“Dude, no way. He went to bed like, an hour ago! Do you want to die? He’d explode you into the sun!”

Sero turns towards Kirishima and raises an eyebrow in silent questioning. “No way,” Kirishima says sternly, “Bakugou really cares about keeping a good sleep schedule. I’m not a human sacrifice.”

“Cmon man! He’s got a soft spot for you! It wouldn’t be a sacrifice because he’d probably help if you asked. Take one for the team?” Mina and Kaminari nod in agreement.

“Frick you, I’m going back to sleep.” Bakugou turns to retreat inside his room. Kirishima grabs the door last second before it slams.

“Cmon bro! We need help!”

“No.”

“Yes?”

“No.”

“Yes...?” Kirishima scratches his head sheepishly.

“No.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

Bakugou’s face contorts in rage as he realizes what he’s said.

“Go away! I need sleep!”

Kirishima pouts, and Bakugou, (contrary to popular belief), is not heartless.

“Okay, fine.” Bakugou groans. “You better score really well on this quiz.”

“Thanks man!” Kirishima smiles.

“Dude, I can’t believe that worked!” Sero whisper-yells once Bakugou is out of range.

“I thought you were confident he wouldn’t explode me,” Kirishima raises a hand to his chest in mock betrayal.

Mina drags them inside before Bakugou has a chance to change his mind. He pulls out his notes from his desk and motions for them to sit around the table.

“What don’t you get?”

Mina pulls out her own notes, if you could even call them that. Sero and Kirishima flip to the second page and point out the parts they don’t understand, and Denki is already looking bored.

Bakugou sighs again, this is going to be a long night.

“What’s the formula again?”

“C8H19N.” Sero recites.

“What the hell? That’s the formula for octylamine. Octanoic Anyhydride is C16H30O3.”

“Dude, how are you so smart?” Denki slumps himself over the table dramatically and throws his hands in the air.

“Try listening in class, bumblebee.” Bakugou smacks him lightly with his papers.

“That’s worse than pikachu!” Sero snickers at Denki’s pain.

Bakugou leans over to check Denki’s paper.

“We need to go to sleep soon. It’s important to keep a steady schedule, and I’m starting to doubt that you’ve ever had something remotely close,” he shuts his notebook.

“You’re such a mom, Bakugou.” Mina flicks a pencil at him.

They all wait for the inevitable outburst from Bakugou. Suddenly he screeches, holding his stomach, laughing so hard it looked like it hurt.

“Pfft- imagine calling someone three years younger than you a mom!” Bakugou cackles so hard he almost falls of the bed he’s occupying, and tears form in the corners of his eyes.

Everyone stares at him like he’s an alien.

“What?” The laughter dies out after nobody else joins.

.

..

...

All at once, everything bursts into chaos.

“WHAT?!?”

“Oh, you’re kidding right? You had me there for a sec.”

“That would make you like, thirteen.”

“Thirteen?”

“Or fourteen.”

“At least try to come up with something more believable.”

“That’s not even allowed.”

“You don’t know?” Bakugou glances at all their confused faces before groaning once more. “Oh my god, you actually don’t know! I am surrounded by idiots. How the frick didn’t you notice?”

“Wait, let’s play along for a second. How are you even here? Isn’t that like, illegal or something?” Sero smirks.

“No I’m serious, crapfaces! I started attending elementary school early after my preschool teachers learned I could read better than all the second graders. In middle school I was attending too many advanced placement classes that they just decided it would be easier to bump me up another grade.”

They all start laughing.

“Oh man, blasty! I didn’t know you liked to play pranks!” Mina giggles.

“I’m not kidding, raccoon eyes. Believe what you want, to hell if I care.”

“You’re a pretty good actor, Kacchan,” Denki swings his arms over Bakugou’s shoulders and that was the end of that. They finished up soon after.

“How’d you do on the test?” Ashido takes a seat on Kirishima’s desk. The rest of the Bakusquad and a few members of the Dekusquad have gravitated towards them.

“61%... so a pass! Aizawa Sensei said that this was supposed to be the hardest test for this semester, so we should be fine from here on out!” Kirishima flashes a thumbs up.

“61%? After all the time we spent studying?!?” Bakugou looms over them. “Next time when I tell you guys we’re going to go study, don’t procrastinate, because obviously cramming doesn’t freaking work!” He yells. “How did the rest of you do?”

Ashido and Sero sheepishly hand him the papers. A 70 and 66 percent.

“There’s no way you did that much better than us, right?” Sero gapes when Bakugou flips his paper around. 98%.

Bakugou growls a bit. “How about you, Denki?”

Denki’s hasn’t looked up from his paper since he got it. They all fear the worst. Bakugou snatches the paper from his hands aggressively, and the Bakusquad prepare for an explosion.

“Good job, Pikachu.”

The paper is handed back to Denki calmly. “At least one of you was listening.”

“What?” Mina screeches when she sees Denki’s score. Solid 84%. “How?!?”

“That’s so manly! Congrats bro, you made Bakugou proud!”

“Hah?” Bakugou sparks, and they launch into normal conversation.

“Oh my god that’s right! Guess what guys?” Mina leans closer as she speaks.

“What?” Ochaco and a few others ask.

“Blasty played a prank on us yesterday! It was a monumental moment.”

Bakugou grumbles. “Deku, flipping tell them it wasn’t a prank.”

Deku squeaks, startled. “What did he do, Mina?”

“He pretended he was thirteen! I actually believed him for a moment, because he never jokes around!”

“Frick you, I make jokes all the time! It’s just you and your crappy senses of humour don’t understand them!”

Deku tilts his head. “But... Kacchan is thirteen?”

“Holy, he even got Midoriya in on it!” Sero laughs.

“No, like Kacchan is actually thirteen years old, didn’t Aizawa Sensei tell you?” Midoriya blinks.

The Bakusquad howls. How did Bakugou convince Midoriya to work with him?

“Uh, I think they’re serious...” Kirishima voices hesitantly. The laughter dies out a bit.

“Kacchan is thirteen! Ask Aizawa Sensei if you don’t believe us!” Midoriya says protectively.

Aizawa lifts his head at his name. “What?”

“Tell them how old Kacchan is!”

“Thirteen.”

It was safe to say that Class 1-B filed a noise complaint that day.
