I really hope you like it!! Sorry to throw angst in your face just like this, but I've always had a lot of feelings about their complicated relationship, and how Nie Huaisang's feelings never fully disappeared, even if he tries to convince himself he hates the man who killed his brother. I love the CQL hat scene, so I wanted to reference that a little. I think the hat does stand for how Meng Yao turned into Jin Guangyao, and when Nie Huaisang holds the hat in his hands I'd like to think he's telling himself he hated the man in this hat, not his Meng Yao, his childhood friend.
