Chapter Text
After a hard day after sorting out all the documentation concerning the winery, Diluc rested his back on his office chair. He hadn’t realized how swiftly the time had passed .He sighed and faced his desk, papers sorted out being lit by the moonlight. He sung his chair around to face the windows, where he noticed the moon.
For a brief moment, he felt as though the moon was staring back at him. It was as lovely as it had always been. Stories from the past glistening brightly yearning for more to come. He'd been staring for a long when he noticed a figure perched on the edge of a cliff. It wasn’t very much clear but he could clearly make out a silhouette of a person.
He had looked through his window the next day and saw the figure again. It was seen most of the time over the course of several weeks, with a few exceptions. Diluc somehow found himself trying to spot the figure every night since the first time he saw the silhouette.
Maybe it was because, after laboring for hours on end, gazing at the moon while trying to locate the figure was quite relaxing. Perhaps it was his curiosity about why the figure appeared only when the sun was hidden. Perhaps they, like him, liked being absorbed in the darkness when the rest of the world was sleeping and the world went silent. Perhaps they were telling a different story or perhaps they were only a figment of his imagination.
It was a busy night. The regular bartender was out on a delivery so he had to take care of the tavern. He was on his way to the winery after shutting the bar. Walking alone, he took in the fresh air while gazing at the moon. It reminded him of the same figure he’d been spotting for weeks. Diluc was a rational man and he had wandered if it was his workload leading him to imagine that silhouette. He had been thinking for a while and before he realized, he had walked to the cliff he only saw from his windows.
It's completely empty. There was no one there. That supported his theory. He came to the conclusion that he needed to relax and somehow was a bit disappointed? He didn't know what he was expecting to see when he arrived, but he was hopeful. He had taken a few steps back towards the winery when he heard a tune emerging from somewhere. When he turned around, he noticed a stranger on a tree.
