Arachnus is weird.
Nothing else to say, right? Wrong.
There's just something about him that always unnerves you. He means well, yes, but he's just kind of weird. You can't help but admit that.
One time, the power went out, and you had to grab a flashlight. Though, when you were trudging back through the mess of webs (seriously, he needs to stop doing that, you can barely tell where the bed is at this point), you shone your light right toward him. What you saw looking back were two glowing turquoise dots. It scared you a little, but then Arachnus came out of the dark and hugged you, and then it was okay. You looked it up later on, and apparently since he's a jumping spider, his eyes glow turquoise in the dark. Something about reflecting light to see better.
He acts like a cat too. Sometimes you'll be walking around, searching for him, just about to go back to your pond to rest when there's a very loud scratching noise. You'll look around a little, and then you'll see those turquoise dots peering at you from inside a box, and you'll pick him up as he squeals adorably.
You've noticed by know that he loves being held. You're taller than him, and being cuddled is probably his favorite thing ever. Any time you're not expecting it, he'll just show up and bounce right onto you, and you'll hold him like a little teddy bear. A lot of the time, when you do that, he'll "purr" - pretty much just hiss softly. It's the most unorthodox purr you've ever heard, but that's okay.
And something else you've noticed: he's really, really fast. You play tag with him all the time, and you only win if he lets you. You can never catch up with him when he's going full speed. And he can jump really far too, even farther than you, and you're a frog. An animal KNOWN for jumping!
Oh, and another thing. He can stand on walls. And the ceiling. You've seen him doing so a lot of times. Sometimes he'll be just sitting on the ceiling, holding this weird purple jewel and humming to himself. You have no idea why he does that, but he does.
Arachnus is weird.
