Adora grunted as she clashed against Frosta's ice sword, glad to see that the ice princess hadn't slacked on her training. She'd certainly become a formidable warrior, trained in the arts of combat by Netossa and Huntara. She leapt back, throwing a flurry of ice spikes in Adora's direction, the blonde narrowly dodging them.
Catra watched from the sidelines, always loving to watch her wife's sparring. After all, who didn't love the sight of the woman they love exerting themself and their great, beautiful strength. But she and Adora had also become aunt figures to Frosta over the years, so seeing her all grown up was a delight.
Frosta was surprisingly able to keep up with Adora after all these years. No longer was she the young girl whom Adora had once let ride on Swiftwind's back.
She was much taller now, having gone through a big growth spurt at the age of fourteen. Her hair was in a long wolf-style ponytail with a shaved undercut similar to Scorpia's. Her outfit was also different now, Frosta preferring to wear a blue tunic which revealed her muscular arms and slightly bagging brown pants. She was seventeen now, almost an adult... but there was a part of Catra that still couldn't help but think of Frosta as that little girl who once punched her in the face with an ice fist.
Some had suggested Frosta's current appearance was her way of trying to emulate Adora and well, Adora was quite flattered that that was the case. She'd never expected she'd be that much of a role model to young heroes of Etheria. Frosta wasn't the only one. She'd heard many tales of how young people all over the world had taken to her example.
Viciously, Adora and Frosta battled, the ice princess unleashing another flurry of spikes along the ground with a stomp of her foot. Fortunately, while this was still very impressive, Adora had the advantage in raw power. With a great slash of her sword, Adora charged at Frosta and broke her blade in two.
Grunting as she was pushed back, Frosta panted as she gazed at Adora, the blonde holding out her sword. She realised that Adora wasn't going to hold back... and right now, neither was she. Charging all her magical energy, she then unleashed a massive ice cyclone right at Adora.
"Holy crap!" Catra exclaimed. "That's one serious storm!"
Melog meowed in agreement.
Adora raised her sword, transforming it into a shield. She smirked, watching Frosta let loose her full power on her. She grunted, her boots digging into the dirt of the training yard as her shield was pelted by Frosta's ice and hail. Eventually, Frosta gave up, panting heavily. Such an expense of magic had exhausted her.
"Fear the wrath of the Blizzard Queen!" She cried out.
Adora chuckled, putting her sword away and transforming back to her usual self. "Not bad, Frosta. You've really put your training to good work there."
"Are you okay?" Frosta wondered. "Sorry, I guess I don't know my own strength sometimes."
Adora chuckled, going over to her muscular friend. "It's fine. It would take a lot more than that to seriously hurt me." She put her hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, you're doing great."
The blue-haired girl blushed a little. "Thanks, though I still think I've got a lot to learn still."
"Come on, let's have a rest, you look pretty tuckered out," Adora replied.
As they went to sit down, Frosta plopped down on a nearby bench, grabbing a nearby water bottle and chugging it down. She then sat back, groaning in exhaustion. "Man, that was a hard workout."
"Worth it though, right?" Adora remarked.
"Heck yeah!" Frosta cheered.
Catra smirked, stroking Melog's fur. "You know, Snowball, it's been a while since you came round here."
"Yeah, you've been super busy with your kingdom that you've had barely any time to hang out with us," Adora agreed. "Any reason for that, Frosta? You're going to be crowned Queen officially soon, right?"
"Y-Yeah... but that's not the reason why I haven't been hanging out with you guys as much," she admitted. She blushed a little, seemingly nervous about this particular topic.
"Oh don't think I don't see that blush there, Snowflake," Catra teased. "Something's on your mind."
Frosta was deeply embarrassed, but then sighed. There was no use keeping this from Adora and Catra any longer. This issue was the reason why she'd come to visit them here in Brightmoon.
"Well... I came to get your advice on something," Frosta spoke. "It's not magical or fighting or anything. it's..." She blushed more, very embarrassed.
"Yes?" Adora wondered.
"Come on, Frosty, spit it out," Catra snarked. "You can't keep this bottled up forever. It'll be alright, you can tell us."
Frosta scrunched her face up, letting it all out in one big scream. "IT'S BECAUSE I HAVE A CRUSH ON A CUTE GIRL AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!"
Adora and Catra both stared. Frosta... had a girlfreind?
"You... you have a girlfriend?" Adora asked, a bit awestruck. Frosta hadn't really talked about this sort of thing... with anyone before. The other princesses had figured that love and romance were just something she wasn't interested in. However, clearly, they'd thought wrong.
"No!" Frosta corrected. "But... I'd like her to be my girlfriend... maybe..." She sighed. "I don't know, I'm all confused about this, hence why I need your help."
Both Adora and Catra sat on either side of Frosta, smiling at her.
Frosta grinned, a little reassured. "It's just... I saw you two hook up and I saw how happy you've become. You've gotten married, you've had a wonderful life together so far... and I realise now I want that too."
"Well, we'll do our best to support you, kid," Catra replied.
"Thank you... but I'm not a kid anymore!" Frosta whined. "You know it's only like six months until I'm eighteen, right?"
"Yeah, but you're still gonna be that little squirt who punched me," Catra chuckled.
Adora had to giggle as well. "But you know, you could have asked Netossa and Spinnerella. Or Perfuma and Scorpia. Heck, I'm sure even Glimmer and Bow might have been good too. They could have all done this for you. Netossa would have probably been the best for you, what with her giving you your training."
"But... I felt best to ask you," Frosta replied. "I don't know why... but I just thought you guys would be the best to ask."
Catra and Adora looked at each other, nodding.
"Okay, then we'll do our best," Adora stated. "First things first, tell us about this girl you like. What's her name? Does she have a favourite colour? Is she a princess?"
"Adora, do we really have to ask this stuff?" Catra wondered.
"Yes, because this will be helpful in us helping her ask this girl out," Adora answered.
Frosta took a deep breath, before nodding. "Okay, so... she came to a party I held in the kingdom. She's a princess too. Her name is Cinder, she's got fire powers." She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I know, ice girl crushes on fire girl, it's pretty much a cliche."
Adora giggled. "No, it's fine. So... what's she like, this Cinder girl."
"Has she tried to kill you?"
"What?!"
"Catra!"
"Hey, I tried to kill you and you still love me," Catra remarked.
"Not helping!"
"Actually, she didn't try to kill me... but I did kinda die when I saw how pretty she was in the dress she was wearing."
Frosta blushed and held her hands together. "She has long, beautiful red hair. She was wearing this beautiful red and gold dress. She liked it when I joked about my muscles and she and I danced and I wanted to kiss her, but I was too shy and... I'm rambling aren't I?"
Adora smiled, placing her hand on Frosta's. "Nope, you're in love and this girl seems to like you back. Trust me, I used to kinda ramble about Catra a bit before I realised how I felt about her."
"Wait, you did?" Catra wondered, raising an eyebrow. "I never knew this."
"But how do I tell her!" Frosta piped up, interrupting the two. "I don't even know if she was actually interested in me, or just wanted to be friends with me. I mean I'm not all that special to be honest. I think more with my giant ice fists than I do my head."
"Ah well, that's always the tricky part," Catra admitted. "Well, if you want my advice, and trust me, my advice is terrible nine times out of ten... just tell her."
"Just say... I love you?"
Catra nodded. "Yup! I mean... that's all it took for me and Adora, so it's got a pretty good track record."
"Well... I almost died so... you know."
"But my kiss helped save you."
"True," Adora replied, before looking at Frosta. "But just telling her how you feel will be all you need. If she clearly likes you, I don't think you'll have any problems."
"And if she says no, well you tried at least," Catra remarked. "There's plenty of fish in the sea, as they say."
Frosta smiled, grinning. "Thanks, guys! I'm gonna tell her!" Then she stopped. "Oh wait... I don't know where she is right now... or what kingdom she's from."
"Wait, you didn't bother to ask her that?!" Catra exclaimed. "Come on, kid, that's like basic stuff!"
"I was too distracted by her pretty eyes!" Frosta shouted.
Catra paused. "...Okay, valid point, that's happened to me too."
"Don't worry, I'll look her up for you," Adora offered. "Heck, I'll even take you to her on Swiftwind if you want! Won't that be cool!"
"Really?" Frosta asked, blushing embarrassingly again. "Aren't I a little old for Swiftwind rides? I mean, it was fun on my birthday all those years ago but... she's gonna think I'm a complete dork if I show up on a flying horse. Wouldn't riding in on a skiff be cooler or something?"
"No, she's going to love it and love that you're best buds with She-Ra!" Adora chirped. "Trust me, it'll be the ultimate icebreaker."
Catra added a thumbs up. "Trust me, Adora will be a great wingman."
Frosta grinned. "Okay, I'll go with Adora to see her. And I'll tell her and she'll be my girlfriend!"
"Atta girl!" Adora cheered.
