Work Text:

The sky is blue, and the grass is green. Rivers and oceans run blue while plants bloom green.

Everyone knows this, from the smallest of toddlers to the oldest of elders. It is the strict rules of life. Unchanging information that sings true in people’s hearts as they go about their lives. Midoriya Izuku, despite other classmates’ harsher whispers and biting comments that he was less than human because of a twisted fate of genetics, comforted in those realities as much as anyone else.

But people still insisted that there was something strange about him, that he was on a different beat from the rest. That he sang a different tune.

Midoriya Izuku did in fact follow all the ironclad rules of reality as everyone else, despite what his classmates might think. He just followed more than the rest of them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Izuku knew he was different. He could just see it. While the other kids in his class ran around screaming splattering each other with stuff the teachers didn’t want to know where they got it and exclaiming with delight when one of them proudly showed off their newly found quirks, he just sat there, clenching an All-Might figurine in his tiny Soon-to-be-Scarred hand. Which then he promptly felt bad about. He wouldn’t want to be squished like that.

“Sorry All-Might,” he whispers softly, slowing unfurling his fingers to reveal a wide, grinning smile.

“Who the hell are you talking to, Deku?” demands Kacchan, who seems to tower over Izuku, leaving him in his shadow, despite them being a similar age. Behind him are his 2 goonies, two extras that Kacchan finds respectable enough to be worthy of trailing behind him. A position he found Izuku to be unworthy of ever since he was diagnosed as quirkless he’s knows he’s not quirkless as he wouldn’t know any of these things but Kacchan doesn’t know this.

Izuku feels as though any normal kid should have broken down by now, with an aggressive, former best friend and isolating peers and adults who just don’t understand, but he doesn’t. For he knows. It’s a constant hum in the back of his mind to preserve, to persist, to endure. Endure all this mockery and half-smiles and eyes that lie and mouths that try to break this quirkless freak.

Katsuki doesn’t acknowledge the way he startles when IzukuDeku looks up with him. Have his eyes always looked so creepy? There must have been a time when bright scarlet met warm green, and they soothed each other. But now, the colors seemed to clash with one another. But now, Deku’s eyes seem to glow a radioactive green, glinting in the light and making the surroundings look dark. If it was just the color that was weird, it wouldn’t get this much of a reaction. But there was just something about Deku’s eyes, the way they seemed to stare into nothing, the way they glazed over randomly, the way they seemed unfocused despite them staring straight at you as if they weren’t looking at you but through you to something beyond, something you couldn’t see. Katsuki determines that he hates Deku’s eyes, for they seem to look down on himnot seeing him despite him being right in front of them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He’s walking home, slowly, alone. Other kids have a skip to their step as they run into open arms of their parents and chat amongst themselves holding hands, but he walks alone. He doesn’t blame his mother; he knows she’s busy with work in the hospital (overtimes are to be expected) before she even rings up the teacher to tell him. He just knows already.

Instead of waiting for the teacher to tell him what he already knows, he decided to walk home to save his time. Every second is precious, and he knows it. Besides, getting home early means more time to watch All-Might videos! He already starts vibrating with excitement as he plans to watch the new All-Might interview for the 14th time, then spend the next hour or a half to analyze everything about it, then maybe catch up on any noteworthy segments on Hero News then a study of new up-and-coming hero Ectopl-

There’s a screech then a crash with a shriek. Izuku slowly turns his eyes to the scene, but he already knows what happened. A person lays in a pool of ever-growing scarlet as their eyes glaze over. Their limbs are all twisted in a way that isn’t feasibly possible and if one looked closely, there was the glint of gleaming white bone sticking out of one arm as it gets stained with blood. Car alarms start going off as the driver stays slumped in the car, suspended by air bags.

There’s screams and wails of terror all around, for the sight isn’t pleasant to see. Especially for the children going home. Parents rush to cover their children’s eyes while friends cover each other’s. There’s no one to cover Izuku’s eyes. You’ll see so much worse Izuku.

Someone calls the ambulance, probably several do at the something time. Another brave soul rushes forward to the victim and the driver (which one might say was also a victim) to see if they could save either one of them. Izuku just watches. They’re not going to make it, either of them. No matter what action you do or how much you try, you won’t be able to save them. All you can do is watch their dying breaths. Izuku doesn’t bother telling this universal truth to the rest of the people around him. Even as a five-year-old, he knows the type of response he will get from this. Shock, Confusion, Disgust. They’ll look at him and say what a cynical little bastard he is, for saying the truth that their actions won’t matter, won’t help, and how he’s more of a freak than they thought.

He had tried once, to tell. A couple of kids, while playing in one of the corners of the playground, stumbled upon a dying bird. When they screamed and shouted for a teacher while cradling the small bird in their palms, Izuku got a good look at the bird and knew it an instant that the bird had a fatal injury. A cat managed to snag its neck when it flew too low and ripped out a couple of its neck pipes in the process. He moved forward, saying how the bird was dying anyway so let it go in peace and he would never forget their look they looked at him with disgust, and terror, and fear, with all of them staring too hard and too long. One started wailing on the stop while 2 others started to sniffle. Another tried to calm them down. “Come on, lets get Mrs. Nagato. He’s just a quirkless freak. Don’t bother listening to him.”

Izuku just watches, as the whites of his eyes start to be illuminated by flashing red and blue, as ambulance sirens scream in his ear, as parents quickly hush and push their children away, as observers confront the fact that they’re going to have nightmares for weeks, as ignorant children who didn’t witness the tragedy go wait, let me see! Izuku just watches and does nothing, nothing at all. It won’t matter anyways.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He’s choking, struggling as slime encases his mouth and tries to force its way down his mouth. It hurts, hurts so much not to breathe as his lungs scream. They beg for him to open his mouth, plead to taste the sweet, fresh air despite knowing that no air will come. They continue screaming on anyways. But in the back of his mind, Midoriya Izuku feels his quirk scream back him. It’s a constant you won’t die, not here, not now. You won’t die. You’ll be saved, I promise, I promise, I promise. Izuku holds onto this like a lifeline, the beaming light at the end of a pitch-black tunnel. After all, his quirk’s never been wrong before.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All-Might, All-Might, is the one who saves him. He can’t believe it; it almost seems completely unreal. All-Might talked to him! All-Might saved him! He’ll save you time and time again However (to his disappointment), All-Might turns to leave. Jump onto his legs! So he does.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His quirk, which he has named Premonition, isn’t omniscience. He doesn’t have complete knowledge of what’s going to happen in the future, only a vague sort of sense. For instance, he didn’t know that All-Might and a supervillain named All-for-One has apparently been fighting in the background for years, but he does know that the fight isn’t going to stop soon. He knows, that All-Might and All-for-One will fight again, but the specifics of where? when? how? escape him. He just knows, like a tick at the back of his mind, that they will. And he knows (even if he didn’t have his quirk) that All-Might will win.

The future is like bubbles, and he can only glance at them before they whizz by, seeing the future of all of those around him. His quirk isn’t like Nighteye’s Foresight either. While Premonition can’t see the very specifics, it doesn’t have a limit, being a quirk that’s constantly on like one decaying quirk . Nighteye has never been wrong beforehe will oh he will but Izuku knows that he will never be wrong. Besides Nighteye just sees what will happen, Izuku knows. He knows the actions that he will take, that he has taken and will take again.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walking through the school halls, trying to ignore all the terribly hushed whispers and prying eyes and how there seems to be a bubble around him that no one dares infringe upon, he can hear the scream of Deku! behind him quickly followed by slamming footsteps. A hand blasts as searing heat starts to prickle on his skin. Kacchan has him by the collar, at his mercy, and Izuku just sags, like a ragdoll, like a puppet suddenly cut from its strings. Don’t worry, it will all be over soon. Soon this won’t happen anymore. This will all be over soon.

Katsuki hates the way Deku hangs limp, his creepy eyes staring off into the distance, unfocused as always. Hates the way he doesn’t react despite him being held by the collar. Like Katsuki doesn’t matter. Like he is just that insignificant in Deku’s eyes. Which is absolutely fucking not true! He was going to be the only person in this shithole middle school that would go to UA and he would become the world’s number one hero! And yet here is this little quirkless fucker that doesn’t act like he is the godsend to this worthless school.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Izuku’s feet moves before he could properly think. The brown-haired girl that he had met previouslyUraraka Ochako is trapped underneath a pile of rubble, as the humongous zero-pointer slowly rolls over, ready to crush her whole. He had to, he had to save her. But how? When he can’t even use the quirk that All-Might, All-Might, had given him. Jump up. Izuku vaults into the air. Pull back. He flings back his arm. Save her. He swings as green and red lightning surrounds his arm, lighting it up as the zero-pointer jerked back. And with a snap, his arm shatters.

It was agony. He felt that he was dying. Nothing that Kacchan ever did could compare to this pain. His nerves were on fire, scratch that, his nerves probably have been ripped apart. Do you know that nerves never regrow? Skin can repair, bones can repair, muscles can repair, but nerves never will. His arm turned into a twisted agonized mess of purple and blue, purple and blue. And then he started to fall. I wonder what my shattered body would look like. You will not die here. How? You will not die. You will fall, but not hit. You will not die here, not here, not now.

Izuku Midoriya smiles as he starts plummeting to the ground. If anyone saw his smile, they would think he was a maniac, that he was welcoming death with open arms. But Izuku knew, he would not die here. That’s the last thought he has, as he barely registers the slap of a hand on his back, and he plummets into unconsciousness.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His muscles are screaming at him, screaming to give up. Muscles that did not belong to him surrounded encasing him, trying to crush him till he was nothing but blood and bits and bone. A monster with a human face laughed, laughed at his misery, laughed at the innocence of a child being shattered as all Kota could do was watch. Watch as Izuku was beaten black and blue and bloody.

The odds were all against him. His body begs to be broken, for the pressure was all too much. But Izuku knows he will not fall here. While his body might be failing, his mind is strong. His pain tolerance has spiked a lot since the last time, with him breaking his fingers several times in the tournament against Todoroki. Power up, his quirk declares. He does, for he will listen to his quirk. His quirk’s never been wrong before. And he sends Muscular to oblivion.

Kota’s crying in his arms, gripping him tight as though he can’t believe Izuku’s right there in front of him, can’t believe he’s alive and breathing. Can’t believe that both of them are alive.

“Don’t worry. Don’t worry. I am here. You’re safe, you’re safe. Your aunt is safe as well.” Izuku comforts Kota, who’s still shaking. He’s hugging Kota as best as he can since his arms are pretty much fucked. They’re both collapsed on the ground, both legs weak from exhaustion and adrenaline.

“… how do you know?” warbles Kota, not moving his head from Izuku’s shoulder.

“Don’t worry,” Izuku whispers, grabbing Kota’s head and making him stare straight into Izuku’s unblinking, shining green eyes that seem to glow, illuminating the night around them. “I just know.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone’s breath stops. All-for-One stands there, power seeping out of his bones. The whole universe seems to stop for a second, as though the world feels its existence threatened by this new threat. Izuku struggles to get his body moving, but it is easier for him then others. He knows it feels hopeless, that others feel as though their world is ending, but his quirk sings at him that everything is going to be ok.

He knows people will die here, that lives will be ruined, and dreams will be crushed. But everything will be ok. It has to be. But before people can breathe again, Izuku has a job to do. Get up, be prepared. He braces for the impact, the slight shift of the fabric of reality shifting to unveil Kacchan and the League of Villains.

And there is Kacchan, blipping into existence along with the villains. Izuku can see the hope draining from Kacchan’s eyes, as the heroes must have been one second away from saving him. Don’t worry, Izuku wants to scream, to shout at Kacchan. Everything will be ok, you’ll be safe. Just hold on there.

One might wonder why he still cares about his best friend bully classmate hero, but Izuku doesn’t wonder, he just knows Kacchan will go on to do great things. And right now, all Kacchan needs is for someone to reach their hand out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Izuku dashes forward, to the screams, the booms, to the plumes of smoke in the distance. It’s another villain attack, what a shocker! Kacchan is right beside him, blasting by his side, the booms echoing in the distance. Class 2-A is quickly behind his heels, rushing forward to save people like the bright shining heroes that they are.

When they arrive at the scene, all of them pause for a moment. There’s chaos all around, the crackling of fires, the crashes of bits of buildings falling down, the groans and wails and pains of the dying, of the weak, of the hopeless. The sky is dark, but the fires seem to light up the sky, putting a red glow on everyone’s faces. The smoke hides any stars in the sky and tries to choke the life out of everyone. Someone throws up behind him. Izuku doesn’t blame him, the downwind is bringing the smell of burning, twisting flesh to them. It’s almost sticky, like even if you move to cleaner air, you could still smell it. It just sticks to you, never leaving. It screams bad, terrible, leave leave straight away, run! It promises a painful death to all who experience it. Afterall, burning to death is one of the worse ways to go.

Kirishima, bless his heart, runs to a woman not far ahead whose surrounded by crimson-stained rubble, dragging Sero alongside him. The woman is convulsing, shaking terribly, her face an ashen white. Sero starts to unroll his tape, ready to bandage any wounds for injuries while Kirishima checks her pulse.

“She’s losing a lot of blood!” Krishimia exclaims and starts to prepare to do CPR when her heart stops. Sero begins to wrap up the large injury to the side, pressing the non-sticky side of his tape to the wound, trying to stop the blood flow. His hands are soon stained completely red while his tape becomes sticky and coated in crimson. Swallowing, Sero continues to try, despite his hands shaking and his eyes wanting to look away.

She will die. Their actions will be in vain. They do not need to know that. They can save so many more people if they just gave up on this lost cause. They won’t, no matter what I tell them. They will never give up despite the odds. Izuku dashes forward, letting Kirishima and Sero deal with the dying civilian while he spots another one, this one impaled by an exposed crowbar. He draws close, grabbing the young man’s hand in his hand.

The man weakly responds, slightly tilting his head. “….I.” he coughs, spitting out more blood. “… d-don’t wanna die”, tears start to stream down, “...i d-..on’t…wan-… die………. don’t die.”

“Shu-ush,” Izuku whispers slowly, not wanting to be too loud with the man. He will die here, all broken and scared. “It’s going to be ok. You’ll be ok. You’ve done great things,” he comforts as his eyes glow bright green, contrasting the sharp red around him. “Everything going to be all right.”

                “..i-I.. don’t wanna be…. alone.”

“I won’t leave you. I’ll be right here.” Izuku promises, squeezing softly on the man’s hand.

The man sags and sighs softly, his eyes drawing to a close while Izuku continues to have a tight, reassuring grip on his hand. Continued to have a grip up till the final moment, when the blood finally stilled. Continued to hold till the coldness started to seep in. And finally, Izuku released it, watching it flop to the ground, and notices Uraraka standing behind him, who had watched the entire exchange.

“How are you feeling?” she asks softly.

“Fine” Izuku replies. Fine could mean so many things. My body’s fine, or I’m not that affected, or it could be worse, at least I’m not bleeding on the ground like he was.

“Did you try to save him?”

“No.” He would die no matter what I do. “He was too far gone. All I could do was reassure him in his final moments.” Before Uraraka could respond, Izuku sprints off, not wanting to see what kind of reaction she would have on her face, One-for-All racing in his veins.

Turn left. He sprints down the piles of rubble. Continue forward. He pushes One-for-All to his limit. His quirk screams at him, begs him to find the civilians hidden underneath the rubble that would never be noticed until it’s too late. Find me. Find me. Find me.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone would hate having his quirk, what does it think for who I could save and who I could not. Fate can’t decide my actions, I have a free will! Izuku had once thought like that before, that his quirk didn’t take into account that he already knows the future. Even before he had One-for-All, he was still trying to save people. Not through vigilantism, god no his mother would kill him, but through small actions. He would run up to active villain fights, rushing to the civilians that lay dead and dying in its aftermath, trying to save them. It never worked. Izuku tried to be better, to react faster, to be stronger, but it never worked. Anyone who was destined to die will die. And anyone that he is destined to save he will.

Maybe Izuku accepted his quirk so easily since his quirk influenced him. After all, knowing one’s future and having that much knowledge is never good for such a young mind. Maybe that’s why his classmates were so unnerved by him, that he seemed decades older than the rest of them. Maybe.

Premonition shows him the path he will take. The path that will save the most amount people feasibly possible for him. The path that he will take, had taken and will take again. Maybe Premonition does change the future, showing Izuku the best, fastest way to save civilians or maybe it was predestined from the start. Izuku doesn’t care anyways, he just wants to save people.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Turn left. Go under this pile of rubble. Find me. Find me Find me. Only you will be able to save me. Only you know where I will be. Izuku ducks down a piece of railing, through the heaps of rock, coughing because of all the dust around. Here I am. He lurches forward, fingers snagging desperately at the rocks, throwing them away with a fervor. There she is, laying there, breaths shallow but still so strong at the same time. She wants to live so badly. You will save her.

Carefully, Izuku wraps his strong arms underneath her, making sure not to tear anything as he slowly lifts her up. One of her pigtails come loose, and her hair coated in grime softly flows down, caressing his arms as it went. “M-..mister” she sighs, creaking her eyes open ever so slightly.

“Don’t worry,” Izuku responds, his voice strong and sturdy. “You’re safe now. I am here. You will live, I promise. You’re safe and alive.” Her arms lift up to grab Izuku by his shoulders, to surround his neck, to burrow her head in the nock of his armpit, as though she didn’t want him to see her tears of gratitude and relief. Relief that he was now here.

“Don’t worry. You’ll be ok.” Izuku continues talking, as he beelines to the ambulance, where they’ll make sure she’s stable and to the hospital. “You’ll do great things. I know it. You’re going to do so many wonderful things and save so many people. Don’t give up now, for you’ll do so much good.” His glowing green eyes see things no one else can, can see her growing up. She’ll do on to do great things. I can see it. She’ll inspire so many young children through her teachings, help so many passersby. I do not know how or when, but she will provide a comfort to many.

Emotions swirl through him as a warm feeling encases his heart. This is why I save people. It was like he had bottled up a small piece of the warmth of the sun and wrapped his body around it, the bottle encased in his arms, touching his heart, impacting his soul. It felt his mother’s hug, soft and warm and comforting who speaks of a promise that will never uttered. This is why I save people.

Her future is brilliant, along with all the other futures of people he had saved. They shine like stars, and he is luckily enough to catch a glimpse at them. Even those who live an average life, somebody loves them, finds comfort in them. Even though it seems like one might not have an impact on anyone, Izuku can see that they do. It could be a family member, a friend, an acquaintance, a stranger you exchanged only a few sentences with. And whoever they impacted will impact another. And another. And so on. Everyone is interconnected with one another, and Izuku can see how small actions can lead to the next world-shattering engineer, a world-best heart surgeon, a therapist who helps reforming villains, a politician pushing for better rights, a hero, saving people with a smile.

And Izuku sprints, continuing to find those he is destined to save, those whose futures shine so brightly, so strongly. And he finds those whose futures end here, and offers them comfort in their final moments, speaking of the great things they have done and how many lives they have touched. He speaks to shuddering victims and shaken civilians, urging them to move on for although it seems bleak right now, it will all be better soon. When that soon happens, it depends. maybe just days, maybe weeks or months or years. He just comforts them that things will look up even when they do not. Why? Because I am here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was the final moment, the key point in this decisive battle. 3 years have led to this moment, 3 years of fighting and battles and hardship and loss and grief and hate, 3 years of strife will all end right here. The nomu screech in a chorus asunder, echoing in the valleys around. They nip, showing pearly white teeth, towards Izuku and Class 3-A, waiting for the right moment to rip out their throats.

Shigaraki Tomura laughs a deep throaty laugh and exclaims in delight, his chapped lips tugging into a smile, “I told you didn’t I, little heroes~? I’ll destroy everything to dust, lay this entire world to ruins. Didn’t I?” He waits, maybe to see if despair will settle into any of the young heroes faces. Which they don’t; Class 3-A has gone through many despairing situations before, has risen above them, and will do it again. “And I’ll think I’ll start with YOU!” Shigaraki screeches, hating the lackluster response he had got. “Nomu, ATTACK!!

From there, it dissolved into mindless fighting. Punch, kick, defend, dodge, punch, kick. The Nomu and villains charge forward with a fervor and Class 3-A and the heroes respond in kind. It’s almost impossible to keep track of anyone in this battle, as allies are split in the heat of battle and unlikely alliances are formed despite previous grievances. As he dashes forward, plummeting enemies behind his fists, Izuku knows his classmates are going to be ok. Kacchan and Monoma, the 2 resident hotheads, will group up behind him so he doesn’t bother watching his back, they have it covered. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Shinso, swinging his capture tape around, unfortunately the villains are too smart to fall for his gloating and the nomu will never respond. Tokoyami and Tsuyu make a dream team, Dark Shadow protects Tsu while she long-shots the villains with her tongue. Iida tries to zoom around, for he succeeds in quick, light fighting, however the number of enemies despite the field size make it hard for him to pick up speed.

Shigaraki screeches, probably disappointed that those hero-hopeful brats have not been killed off yet and tries to join the battle, only to taste Izuku’s fist in his face. He flies a bit backwards before righting himself and screeching to a halt, dust picking up in clouds around him. “Midoriya Izuku!” he bellows to reaches for Izuku, pinky no longer raised. Izuku in turn smiles, almost manically. You will die here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Izuku has gone against impossible odds, survived even the most perilous of situations, but the secret behind his unwavering confidence even in the heat of battle was his quirk, his other one. It was a constant reminder that he wouldn’t die here, no matter how hopeless it seemed. The reassuring You will not die here.

But now, You will die. You will die here and now, by Shigaraki’s hand. You will fall. His smile wavers for a split second, as the reality of the situation rushes to him. He has known for a while, as he always does, that he is destined to die early. That this would be the final battle between Class 3-A and the League of Villains. That after this it would all be over. And that the class size would drop by one. That he would die. But it didn’t fully hit him until right now as death’s looming hand is right in front of him, that this is where his future ends.

And yet his smile comes back, because although he’s sad to go, Izuku knows this is the best outcome, the outcome that has, is and will happen.  He’s glad that he doesn’t need to find a successor anymore, since One-for-All will die with him right here. Sorry All-Might, but this power is too great for anyone to have, both physically and mentally. One-for-All would die here with All-for-One, with the League of Villains being destroyed and All-for-One long dead in his cell in Tartarus. At least he will be the only fatality. You will die here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s a painful way to go, his stomach and intestines half-dissolved as Shigaraki plunges his hand into Izuku’s abdomen. Right before Izuku blows Shigaraki’s head off with a single swipe. A final strike before death. They both collapse, Shigaraki obviously going first as he no longer has a head, and then plummets Izuku, gasping and grabbing his abdomen as he lays there on his back as though he can somehow stop the blood flow. You won’t be able to. The world rings white, and Izuku barely notices a figure collapsing beside him on its knees.

There Kacchan kneels, eyes wide and shocked, as though he can’t believe Izuku Midoriya, local I break all of my bones, twice, is dying to a light shot in the stomach. The fighting seems to be far away, either because of Izuku dying or it’s wrapping up, Izuku doesn’t know. He’s in too much pain to really care right now. All he needs to know is the reassurance from Premonition that his friends are safe, that they have won. The only casualty in this battle is yourself, Midoriya. That’s great, he smiles.

Kacchan’s hands are shaking, Izuku notes as he shifts his attention back to Kacchan. He doesn’t even register Bakugou starting to press his hands against Izuku’s injury, as though he could stop the blood. Turning his head slightly, he can see the blurry figures of his classmates nearing. Ah, the fight must be over. He laughs and dissolves into a fit of coughs of blood. He chokes and turns to his side so he won’t die from choking on his own blood at the very least.

Your work is not done. “K-kacchan,” Izuku gasps, summoning his strength to give out one final goodbye. Kacchan’s attention shifts from uselessly trying to stop the blood flow to Izuku’s pale so pale face. Izuku can her the distressed calls of his classmates, distraught gasps and a quick hurry get the ambulance. “..D-don’t …. bother. Shi…. hi-garaki g-got…. me .. good.” He tries to laugh and cringes as it sends waves of pain as one of his ribs starts to puncture his organs.

“Kacchan……… y-you’re… going t-…to go….. on…….. and….. d-do gr-..great th-things.” His eyes glow green as he can see Kacchan, not the one now but the one to be, a symbol of hope of reassurance as he stands a shield for many. He can see Kacchan topping the Hero’s ranking board, looks like you were correct after all, with a Shoto right underneath him. He can see the sun blazing before Kacchan as he tilts his heads backwards and gives one of his signature smirks that says don’t worry, you’ll be alright after all this villain is only second-rate right before he plummets the villain’s face into concrete. Inspire him. Give him words he will remember for the rest of his life. I will. Izuku slowly lifts his shaking, bloodied hand to Kacchan’s cheek, holding it ever so softly, caressing the skin. “Kac-cchan….. you’re….. g-going to be……….. s-so … great. I….. just kn-…ow…….. it. You’re g-going………. t-to…. save…………. s-…so many peo-……ple………. and ……. tou-…ch so ma-…many……. lives. I-i just know you are.”
