All that can be heard from the tower’s training room is the loud smack of Supergirl’s fist on the hanging car, that acted as a punching bag. The Girl of steel was so focused on her training that she didn’t noticed her sister looking at her from her position on the other side of the room.
Alex gently put down her weights and walked towards her sister “so…” the woman gently said as she leaned against the wall making herself visible in Kara’s peripheral. “Heard you and Lena went on a date?”
Kara grunted at this. The moment she started her day she’s been teased about the fact that Lena invited her to the annual Luthor Corp ball- as her date. It started with Nia’s text; to Andrea’s not so subtle teasing back at Catco; to M’gann ‘I heard you and Lena went on a ball as mates. Congratulations to you both! May H’ronmeer bless your union’ which became Kara’s final straw.
Even how hard see wishes all that to come true they aren’t. Lena didn’t like her like that! And now here she is punching a car till she powderize it with her fist. She was just about to calm down, but then here comes her sister reminding her once again that she can never have Lena like that.
“Can everybody just shut up!” she said annoyed and bit loud, surprising Alex and making her stand erect. “I’m so tired of people asking about me and Lena all day! We’re friends Alex! Nothing more! Last night wasn’t a date okay?! I just went to that fucking ball to help my best friend and comfort her!”
Alex was surprised with her sister’s outburst. Kara rarely swears and now that she did, she knew the Kryptonian was really pissed. “Kar is everything okay?” she said as she put a hand in her sister’s shoulder.
Kara breathed out loudly and sat in the bench nearby “no”.
Little did the sisters know, Lena was just about to approach the training room to inform Kara that they were needed on a mission, and that she heard everything. With a broken heart Lena left the training room area and said goodbye to everyone in the control room saying that she had an emergency to attend to and will be gone for a few days.
Meanwhile, Kara laid her head on her sister’s shoulder “I’m just tired Alex. Of everyone assuming that Lena and I are more than friends, even if how much I wanted it to be. She doesn’t feel the same” the blonde felt her sister’s body react and freeze.
“Kara do you really think that?” Kara pouted and nodded “Do you know… when you were in the phantom zone, we found a way to bring you back earlier than we actually did” the kryptonian’s head raised and looked at her sister “we did. We used your legacy crystal; we know it has your DNA so we extract that to locate you. But before we did the phantoms wreaked havoc on National City and we needed to use it therefore delaying your rescue. We chose to use it for that purpose, we all chose it but one- Lena.”
Kara has tears in her eyes now listening to her sister “She wouldn’t hand me the device so I took it by force.” Alex said sadly. “I always doubted her but at that moment, I realized I was the one who promised herself to do anything just to protect you but Lena, she was willing to sacrifice the world just to get you back.”
Kara remembered a certain conversation with her cousin, of choosing a beloved over the world. She knew what that feels like before- hell she was willing to let that plane fall into the reservoir just to save Lena. She will always choose Lena.
And now she knew that Lena chooses her too.
“so, if you really think Lena doesn’t feel the same, I think you need to re-evaluate your life” Alex said with a grin which Kara returns with a smile.
“Sorry to interrupt” Nia, who was standing by the door said, "but we have a situation."
They all went to the control room to be briefed regarding the mission which they’ve encountered a weird kryptonite signature near the Fortress. Supergirl and the J’onn was deployed in the scene but they didn’t found anything but a huge crater.
“What in the world landed here?” J’onn said looking around the area.
In a farm somewhere in Montana, an elderly woman just finished preparing dinner when she heard someone by their front door. She opened the door and was shocked to see a Kryptonian with her clothes ripped “I was training with Kelex and it got weird” she smirked ignoring the fact that as if she didn’t look like she just came home from a war.
“Why do you always tend to give me a heart attack Linda?” the elderly woman shook her head.
“I don’t I guess you just love me so much ma” the kryptonian replied and hugged the woman in front of her “So what’s for dinner? I’m soooooo hungry” the elderly woman laughed as they both walk inside the house.
