“Petey…come on bud. Let’s just-
“NO! NO YOU DONT GET IT!” Peter’s voice was hoarse from the screaming earlier. “I- I cant do this, you know? I already screwed up by having my secret out and people think I’m a murderer! My family is in danger and if i- I didn’t mess up Strange’s spell I could have just had my normal life BACK!”
Peter took off his mask and tried to wipe the fat tears running down his cheeks. The reddened puffy face, greasy hair and miserable look took a breath out of the older spider-men. Peter huffed angrily and sat on the edge of the bridge, dangling his legs above the clear river.
Both Spidermen gave each other a knowing look, sitting down next to Peter on each side. Even though they never had the problem of the whole world knowing their identity, they knew more than enough of what it’s like to be Peter Parker.
“You know, even if that wizard completed that spell correctly, you’d never have your normal life back.” Tobey Peter softly reminded him.
“Parkers aren’t granted normal lives, Pete. That’s just… us. As Spider-Man, we don’t get to have that kind of luxury.” Andrew Peter picked up a stone and threw it across the river, watching it bounce under the moonlight. “We don’t exactly have the best of luck, ya know.”
Peter gave a light scoff in agreement. “Parker luck has been a gift to us, huh?” He took another stone and threw it as hard as he could, seeing it bounce into the far waters.
After about some minutes of silence, Tobey Peter spoke up. “You know…you aren’t alone, Pete. You have us.” He stopped Peter from throwing another rock and gripped his hand tightly. He tried not to frown when he felt the ongoing tremors from his younger counterparts arm. “We’ll fix this, okay?”
Peter looked at both of them with a glint of hope. His reddened eyes were slowly coming back to their natural blue hue.
“Can we really?”
Andrew Peter gripped Peter’s other gloved hand and gripped it tightly. His smile was more than enough to reassure Peter.
”It’s all a leap of faith little dude. We will fix it, Pete. Together.”
