A monster sits
Hungry
Upon a throne above it’s ruined world
and Watches
It says it doesn’t want to watch
Yet watches all the same
It says it never wanted too
Yet perches at the edge of it’s seat
Soaking it all in
Greedy for more
A man sits
Sullen
Upon his throne above a ruined world
And wonders where it all went wrong
“Curiosity killed the cat!”
That’s what they always used to say
Now he looks back with hindsight and laughs
As a deep buried part of him
Wishes the words were true
A boy sits
Scared
Small upon a towering throne
And yearns for the life he never got to live
