Chapter Text
The sun was setting over the houses of Privet Drive casting mysterious shadows in the neighborhood. Harry was currently staring out his window watching the sun go down sluggishly. He was feeling rather lonely; he had received no owls from any of his friends, not even Hagrid or his God-Father, Sirius...
Harry suddenly shot up from his desk and started pacing quietly. His fists were clenched and teeth began grinding in anger. Dementors sent to get him... Mrs. Figg tailing him in secret... the suspension from Hogwarts and a hearing at the Ministry of Magic – and he still had no clue what was happening. The only information being a brief note from Mr. Weasley and Sirius telling him to stay put.
Harry's pacing got faster, and he was sure he was burning a path into the carpet. A few minutes later, he decided to lie down to blankly stare at the ceiling.
There simply was nothing else he could do.
His exhausted mind was quite blank when his Uncle entered the room. Harry kept his gaze to the ceiling though his muscles tightened.
"Look at me, boy," growled Vernon Dursley.
Harry flinched before slowly turning his head to stare at his Uncle.
Uncle Vernon was wearing his best suit with an expression of enormous smugness.
"We're going out," he said pompously, puffing his chest out.
"Fine," said Harry dully, turning back to the ceiling.
"You look at me when I'm talking to you, boy!"
Before Harry could blink, his Uncle charged at him like a raging rhinoceros and landed a firm blow to his ribs.
Harry gasped and rolled off the bed, clutching his middle.
Why couldn't he stand up to his Uncle, when he could face Lord Voldemort himself?
Uncle Vernon looked down at him with a nasty grin, his beetle black eyes promising more.
"You are not to leave your bedroom while we are away."
Harry gave a weak nod. "Yes, sir."
Uncle Vernon gave Harry's side a firm kick – causing Harry to groan quietly – before leaving the room.
This was why he didn't just want to go to Hogwarts, he needed to go to Hogwarts. Or just anywhere that wasn't near the Dursley's before he ended up killed.
He let out a dark chuckle and flinched at the movement it did to his ribs. His Uncle might just kill him before Voldemort did.
Harry crawled back up to his bed before carefully laying down.
Ever since they had received that mysterious Howler, he'd been watching his Aunt closely. He started to notice she would flinch when Harry was being punished, which made him start to wonder maybe she didn't enjoy the pain inflicted than he had originally thought. She knew about the Dementors too which had been a shock... he wondered how...
A few minutes later he heard the unmistakable sound of the car sweeping out of the drive way. The room grew steadily darker around him as he lay listening to the night sounds through the window.
He jumped as the lock to his bedroom door suddenly gave a loud click and his swung open. Harry stood motionless, the pain from his Uncle's abuse forgotten as he stared through the open doorway. He hesitated for a moment, wishing his wand wasn't locked up under the stairs, before moving carefully towards the opened door.
His body froze. There were four figures standing in the shadowy hall.
"It's all right, Harry. You're safe."
Harry's heart leapt. "Professor Lupin?"
Lupin held out his hand as Harry slowly came closer and shook it when Harry reached them.
"How are you?" asked Lupin, looking carefully at him.
"F – fine," he stuttered, wary at his scrutiny.
"Is that a black eye?" asked Lupin, alarmed. "What happened?"
"F –fell when facing the Dementors," lied Harry feebly.
He remembered the abuse that was inflicted upon him when he carried Dudley into the house and couldn't help but shiver.
Lupin scrutinized him for a few seconds more before turning away and introducing him to the three other figures with him. Tonks was a young witch with short spiky violet hair and also a metamorphugus - changing her hair from violet to pink. Kingsley was a bald black wizard who wore a single gold loop in his ear and well... he had already met Professor Moody, however this time, he wasn't using polyjuice potion to disguise his true identity as Barty Crouch Jr.
Moody just opened his mouth, when a crack reverberated in the hallway and a letter floated down into Harry's hand.
"That could be dangerous," growled Moody, reaching for the letter, but Harry opened it before Moody could reach him.
Dear Harry,
This may seem blunt and hard to believe, but I'm YOU from the future! (Hermione thought I should be more subtle, but there's no proper way to do that, is there?)
The war against Voldemort ended many years ago but many lives were lost and I still blame myself for every death. There will be several phials and a Pensieve in the room you are about to be sent to and further instructions near them.
Please change the future for the better and you might as well forgive Hermione and Ron about ignoring you this summer on Dumbledore's orders. (They really do care for you).
The following people will be transported to the Room of Requirement or as some know as the "come and go" room in thirty seconds.
Harry Potter and Ginvera Weasley
Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
Fred and George Weasley
Molly and Arthur Weasley
Bill and Charlie Weasley
Sirius Black
Remus Lupin and Tonks
Albus Dumbledore
Minerva McGonagall
Percy Weasley
Alastor Moody
Kingsley Shackelbolt
Narcissa and Draco Malfoy
Severus Snape
(Others might join later)
Make sure you tell everyone that their wands will be useless. Also, time will be stopped so no need to worry about missing anything .
Please change the future for the better.
From the future YOU.
-Harry
By the time Harry was done reading, he was staring at the parchment in horror.
Many people dead? The war?
Before anyone could comment on Harry's strange behavior and Mad-Eye could reprimand him for not being careful, Harry, Lupin, Kingsley, Mad-Eye, and Tonks were starting to glow a blue-ish hue like a Port-Key.
"Ooh, I do like this color!" said Tonks admiring her reflection in Harry's bedroom window.
Harry felt a pull near his naval before everyone disappeared with another crack.
