wouldn’t change a thing

Summary:

Everything changed when Eda found the hunan baby in the forest.

Work Text:

Eda had never expected to have a child of her own. It had felt out of her reach, with her curse and all and how she always pushed away people like potential partners when things got too serious. She had been terrified of true commitment even if she didn’t acknowledge it herself.

But things changed when she found the human baby in the forest, helplessly wailing for attention. The baby had looked cold and coed, letting out small grunts between cries. The witch had immediately taken the baby into her arms and walked home with her, while deciding to name her Luz. Handling her over to the orphanage never crossed her mind, not even once.

Luz was Eda’s child now, nothing could change that.

The human grew up in a wonderful and loving, yet insane and spontaneous household together with the owl lady. There was never a dull moment in Luz’s life, adventure lurking around every corner. She explored the world together with Eda, her mother. And the human wouldn’t change anything either, loving her mother more than words could ever express. She was so kind and caring and also let her figure out her individuality while always cheering her on no matter what.

Luz felt happy and wanted by her mother, even if she sometimes was embarrassing and old (Eda never got her reference of human anime dvds or fiction books with fake magic systems and way too complicated plots).

Because even if Eda didn’t always understand Luz, she did her best to be supportive and listen to her, cheering her in and encouraging her to be expressive, to be herself . She had grown up with love and had never been ashamed of being her own person or because of her interest.

Yes, Luz couldn’t be happier about her childhood and family.
