Work Text:
Izuku, in all honesty, just wanted to pet an alley cat. He rarely left the fortress at night time because of too many run ins with people that were not at all safe. And, he could never tell if someone was following him hoping to do bad things to him. It was just not safe.
And yet, here he was. Out at night because he really just wanted to pet an alley cat. The fox cub that liked to visit him had not visited in a few weeks, so he was lacking in affection.
Keigo also had been dealing with the commission being on his ass about some shit or another, so he had not been around either.
Long story short, Izuku was touch starved.
He was just getting the alley cat to peak out from under a dumpster, when there was a clatter above him. The cat ran away instantly, causing Izuku to sigh. He steadied himself with a hand and started pushing himself up, when something slammed into him.
His wrist twinged at the pain of being forced past a reasonable limit, causing him to cry out in pain as he collapsed to the ground.
“Shit!” a gruffy voice exclaimed at his yell of pain.
Turned out that something was a someone.
The person rolled off of him quickly, before rolling him over to check him for injuries. Izuku cradled his wrist to his chest, and struggled to look through his squinted eyes at the person.
They widened at the sight of yellow goggles and a white scarf.
“Of fucking course. Two fucking nickels,” Izuku brilliantly muttered to himself.
The poor pro just stared at him in confusion before shaking his head. “Of course. I gave a child a concussion.”
“No, no. You’re just my second nickel,” Izuku explained, as if that cleared up anything.
The pro paused from where he was checking Izuku’s head for bumps. “Kid, that’s not helping.”
Izuku rolled his eyes, sitting up and wincing at the pain that emanated from his wrist. “I mean: You are the second pro hero to fall on me from out of the sky.”
“You know I’m a pro hero?” the man asked, holding out a hand as a way to ask if he could check Izuku’s wrist.
Izuku hesitantly let go of his wrist, holding in a whine. “Of course I do. You’re Eraserhead. You freelance under the agency ‘Night Watchers’ here in Musutafu.”
The pro raised an eyebrow. “That’s impressive. A little scary knowing how easily a child could get that information. But, helps me know I’m not covering my tracks enough. Who was the first?”
Izuku smiled at the memory. “Fucking Hawks. Took a nap in a tree and somehow managed to fall out and on top me. Didn’t even wake up either. Had to drag him somewhere safe too.”
The pro smiled at that, finishing up his check of Izuku’s wrist. “Your wrist is definitely sprained. I’ll take you to a hospital to properly get it checked out.”
“No!” Izuku yelled, yanking his wrist back with a pained whimper.
The pro paused at that. Izuku could not blame him. Izuku was reacting so different from how he had originally been acting.
“Why not?” Eraserhead asked calmly.
“They mark up prices. And, they wouldn’t see me for many hours anyways.”
Eraserhead sighed, and held out his hand again. Izuku hesitantly gave the pro his hurt wrist, and watched as the man meticulously wrap a length of his capture weapon around Izuku’s wrist.
“I ran out of bandages last week, so this will have to do. Haven’t had time to get more.”
He cut the length with a knife and tucked it in the end. He sighed and stood, offering a hand to help Izuku stand.
“Please be safe on your way home.”
Izuku tilted his head in suspicious confusion. “You’re not going to walk with me to make sure I get home?”
Eraserhead gave him a knowing smirk. “Would you have let me?”
“Touché.”
Izuku was honestly surprised he had even made it in. Sure, he had a feeling there was a possibility that the principal ignored the rules of the commission and had a secondary aspect. But, he honestly could not get over his own anxiety.
So, when the girl he saved confronted him to thank him, he started freaking out a good amount. He could not handle confrontation half the time, so he struggled despite it being positive.
Then, when he noticed a familiar looking caterpillar crawling up behind the girl, he took the chance to be distracted. He quickly realized exactly who was in said cocoon, so he came up with chaotic revenge.
“Can you move aside a bit?” he asked the girl, not remembering if she had told him her name.
When she moved aside, he quickly took the chance to hop and land on top of the pro. He could hear the girl and the mini-Ingenium- that he would love to punch for being annoying and rude -gasping in horror as he landed on the man.
He was very proud of the quiet ‘oof’ the man let out, and smiled as he let his full weight rest on top of the man.
“Problem child, why?” Eraserhead asked.
“You sprained my wrist when you did it.”
“Touché. Anyways.”
The man stood up whilst unzipping his sleeping bag, and like the little shit he is, Izuku managed to crawl up Eraserhead and latch himself to the man’s back.
Eraserhead walked into the classroom without a care and set gym clothes on the podium.
“I am Aizawa Shouta. I am your teacher. You need to be ready for class by the time I walk into class. Put these on and meet me outside.”
Everyone grabbed a uniform and filed out of the class.
“That includes you, problem child.”
Izuku rolled his eyes jumped off of the heroes back, and grabbing his uniform.
“Good job by the way. I was hopeful you would get in after I saw you in the exam.”
Izuku paused at that. “Really?”
Aizawa nodded with a teasing smile. “You have a brilliant mind, going by how easily you figured out my identity. That will help you become a hero. A great one.”
Izuku smiled feeling tears well up in his eyes, before rubbing them and walking out of the classroom.
