Chapter Text
They have you. Your worst nightmare. The place you never wanted to be again. The Farm. The labs. You ran so far and now you’re here again. It wasn’t far enough. Nowhere is far enough
You can’t move. Restraints. Strapped down. For your injuries or “behavioral issues” you don’t know.
Are they done fixing you yet? How much was broken? You can’t read her thoughts. Can’t see her eyes with the brace on your neck.
But you can talk. They haven’t gagged you yet.
You smile. A threatening grin you poached off of Ortega. When it feels hopeless… Show. No. Fear.
“I told the Marshall everything. I wonder how long until your higher-ups get some interesting calls.… I wonder have they started yet?” You tease.
Her notebook rustles. No scratch marks. She isn’t writing. You’ve said this before. She doesn’t sigh but she might be rolling her eyes. You can’t read her mind to check but you’re sure you’ve become pretty annoying by now.
“You’re lying. You told him nothing. We know you’re lying. You know you’re lying. And you know we know. Enough of this farce.”
You’re getting under her skin, good. You need to be under her skin. Their skin. So they can’t be under yours. They already have you. They can’t have more.
“When you going to let it go? Marshall Charge is not coming for you,” the lecture continues, “Sidestep is dead. You may have enjoyed that little cover the Marshall made for you but that role is over now. The sooner you cooperate, the sooner you finish repairs and move on to the next. You should be grateful we retrieved to at all.”
You always thought they’d kill you if they found you. This is worse….
