Work Text:

Everything about this week has been wrong, Jimin thinks.

Jimin sits on his bed sporting a sad pout. The air around him is buzzing with gloominess and mild irritation. He hears Hoseok’s endless foot-tapping outside from the living room, clearly dressed up and eager to see Jimin wearing his outfit for the party tonight. But, Jimin was supposed to dress up as a royal vampire in a silky black robe that brought out his figure with long and sharp fangs peeking out of his mouth. Instead, he finds himself annoyingly clutching an overflowing pearly white robe that was meant to complete his disguise as an angel – blame the head doctor who had Jimin jailed in the hospital for that.

The blonde had been interning in a hospital under one of the best doctors in the city of Seoul for the past three weeks to experience the life as a nurse before he could actually become one; little did Jimin know that it would affect his costume for Halloween. But, like he had been thinking, everything about this week had been extremely wrong. It started with Jimin’s shift being shuffled as he now had to come in to the hospital at nights which not only ruined his sleep-wake cycle but also, made him deprived of the breathy kisses Hoseok used to plant on his neck before they went to sleep, not to mention the warm cuddles, and that was a blow to his spirits. Adding to his misery, he was also allotted paper work this week, something he absolutely despises. However, Namjoon, his fellow intern and a dear friend, had been doing his best to help Jimin in that matter – God bless, Namjoon. This, ultimately, had stopped Jimin from doing an early Halloween shopping and resulted in saying goodbye to the royal vampire outfit and picking whatever was leftover like angel outfits and ugly bananas.

“Is everything alright, Jiminie?” Hoseok asks. The worry is evident in his voice. “What’s taking so long?”

“Everything is fine, hyung,” Jimin calls, but his voice betrays him.

“You’re sad. Is this about the costume?” Jimin frowns. He hears Hoseok walking towards the room when he gets no response. “Baby, you could wear a trash bag and look absolutely gorgeous. Don’t be sad.”

“You say that because you are biased.”

Hoseok chuckles softly. “Not at all. You have no idea how impatient I am to see my angel dressed up like an actual angel.”

“What have I done to you, Oh Lord!” Jimin laughs and playfully teases his boyfriend. “You’ve become a sap.”

“For your information, I am rolling my eyes right now.”

Jimin’s lips stretch into a smile, gloominess lifting off the air after talking to Hoseok. “I’ll be outside in five.”

He marches to stand in front of the mirror after hearing Hoseok’s agreeing hum. Examining himself in the mirror, he decides to go for a glittery smoky eye and a tinge of pink blush on his cheeks to make him look graceful. Satisfied with the makeup, Jimin slips into his robe before putting on his wings and looking at the self-showing object, he thinks it might not be the worst costume in the world. The robe flows around him like clouds and the wings look royally spread – Jimin might or might not be thinking that he could actually have Aphrodite gaping at him. Oh, Hoseok is going to have a heart failure tonight.

With a smirk plastered on his face, Jimin opens the door ready to go to the living room. The party has started without him, people standing in small groups with drinks and food in their hands are everywhere inside their place. It’s not a big house, but it is home to Hoseok and Jimin. It takes barely two seconds for the younger to spot Hoseok in the room. Jimin’s mouth falls open. The man is wearing a hot red leather onesie with a forked leathery tail sticking out of his back seductively with his curves and muscles well in display. A two horned hair band sits on his head proudly –oh, you sexy demon, Jimin thinks.

He was wrong; Hoseok is not the one going to have a heart failure.

A smile blooms on the older’s face when he spots Jimin, immediately excusing himself from Minjun with whom he had been conversing earlier. He presses a wet kiss on his boyfriend’s cheek. “Jimin, you look stunning.”

A blush creeps up to Jimin’s cheeks naturally. “Thank you, hyung.”

“Look at you,” Hoseok chuckles. “Red like a tomato.”

“What a tease you are, Hoseokie! You have no slightest concern over my sanity.”

“If you have any.”

You sly little thing, Jimin thinks. If that’s how they were playing tonight, Jimin was in. Hoseok might be rainbows and sunshine, but Jimin knows he’s latex and whip behind closed doors.

Jimin rolls his eyes. “I would like to say that this costume is the best Halloween has ever made you wear.” Hoseok flashes a smile in thanks while Jimin leans in to slap his ass. “Have it shred apart soon for me, yeah? Come on now, hyung, we have guests to attend to.”

The younger wills himself to keep a straight face at the way Hoseok’s starting pale from his face to neck and walks forward towards the kitchen, Hoseok following him close behind in a trance.

“Park Jimin, you cannot say stuff like that in the middle of a party and pretend it didn’t happen.”

Jimin pouts innocently trying his best to hide that smile that is threatening to bloom. Hoseok moans – part irritated, part turned on – and crashes his forehead on the younger’s shoulder, something which he always does when he needs anchoring and assurance and Jimin is immensely fond of it for it always reminds him of how a cat foreheads its beloved and confidant. Pressing a kiss to Hoseok’s hair, Jimin hands him a bowl of candies.

“You are on candy-duty, hyung,” Jimin informs. “You love trick-or-treating, don’t you? Remember, you cannot withhold candies from small children because they did not accurately recreate your favourite comic book character, Hoseok.”

“Well, somebody’s got to tell them, Jiminie,” Hoseok reasons. “How will they learn if nobody tells them they are wrong – Fine, fucking fine! I will give them the damn sweets!” he cries when Jimin shoots him a glare.

Jimin giggles, watching his boyfriend with heart fluttering with fondness when Hoseok walks to the door sulking like a child who had been denied ice-cream and is yet again reminded of the first time they met for Halloween has the tendency of bringing back memories of flashing lights and the smell of sweat to the both of them as they kissed for the first time in the men’s room of an underground club when they were seniors in college.

Neither Jimin nor Hoseok knew who was the one to initiate their kiss after having pent up feelings for each other all through junior year, despite the both of them being physically incapable of expressing their emotions with each other because it happened while they were piss drunk under the ugly neon lights. Jimin still remembers the taste of cheap alcohol in his tongue even after all these years and Hoseok’s moan the best melody he could ever hear. But, the second kiss however, - Jimin knows – was initiated by Hoseok under a tree in the college campus while they were studying and looked like he was about to explode after pulling apart. Jimin had laughed and pinned the older into another kiss. It’s hard to believe they’ve come a long way since then. The love seems impossibly too much to Jimin, yet he yearns for more and more each day and Hoseok seems always ready to give.

The rest of the party goes by in a daze as Jimin downs two bottles of soju to celebrate the night while Hoseok stays by the door talking and entertaining his guests as he gives candies to the children who come trick-or-treating. They exchange glances now and then with each other and a few words of appreciation and whispered I love yous are shared. A hour before midnight people start leaving and Jimin would be lying if he said he missed a house full of bunnies, cats, vegetables, skeletons and zombies. Exhaling loudly, Hoseok plops down on the couch next to his boyfriend when they have the house to themselves.

“I can’t believe a nine year old painted himself like a peapod and pretended to be Hulk,” Hoseok complains. Jimin giggles. “You don’t know how much that made my skin itch.”

“You gave him sweets nevertheless,” Jimin rubs the older’s thighs. “I call that character development.” Hoseok shakes his head with a smile and rests his back on the couch. “Did you have fun tonight, hyung?”

“A black cat smacked me in the face,” Hoseok says. “I think I have been blessed by the Gods.”

Jimin crosses his arms across his chest. “You have an angel sitting right beside you, hyung. Is that not enough to make you think you have been blessed by the Gods?”

The older pulls Jimin into his cocoon, laughing against his hair. “You are my favourite blessing, Jimin; my most precious angel.”

“Shocking coming from a devil,” Jimin teases.

“I am not as bad as the books paint me to be, you know?”

Jimin pulls himself back from Hoseok’s hold and fakes a gasp. “Quiet, evil one.”

“Oh, name-calling,” Hoseok whispers. “So fearsome.”

Jimin tsks. “Did not take you to be one for small talk, hyung. I believe we had some shredding to do.”

“You nasty brat,” Hoseok howls earning a chuckle from Jimin, but he is already pinning Jimin down on his back, crashing their lips together in a fierce kiss. The older’s tongue is eager to explore and Jimin is more than ready to let him in as their legs entangle together leading up to Hoseok’s firm hands around Jimin’s waist.

This night might just make up for all the things that had gone wrong the whole week, Jimin thinks.
