Work Text:
High school was just the fucking worst.
No, seriously. It was. At least for Chuuya. See, Nakahara Chuuya was an average person. He was just... There. There was absolutely nothing special about him. At least not in a good way. He had bright red hair and blue eyes, a terrible contrast to the mellow browns of everybody's else's eye and hair colours. Plus, he was shorter than the average height for males, and that just pissed him off further.
His 'exotic' appearance just made him feel out of place; like he stood out. Chuuya absolutely did not like standing out, damn it. He just wanted to be left alone. And usually, he was, much to great fortune. In his previous school, he was often bullied for lots of stupid things.
He was too short, too girl-like in appearance, too different. His hair was too red, his eyes were freakishly blue, and he swore worse than a fucking pirate. His grades were too average and he was too average at sports. He was in the martial arts club just because he was required to have a club, and because he'd learnt martial arts when he was younger.
It was all so stupid. What even is too average? There's no such thing?! But anyway, that was all in the past and it didn't matter. Besides, Chuuya liked being average. And he was in high school now. Which was the worst, like he thought constantly.
Chuuya didn't have many friends. He spoke to a small circle of people from his own grade, and fewer underclassmen, but that was just because his asshole of a best friend knew them. Chuuya reckoned that he must have done something really horrible in his past life to get stuck with such a shitty person as his 'best friend'.
It sounded disgusting, but Dazai Osamu was his only friend. They had met when Chuuya had moved to Yokohama, in the house right across that bastard's. The asshole had come over as soon as he'd realised he had a new neighbour, saying something along the lines of "My mom sent cookies for you, but I ended up eating them all. Oops?"
Of course, Chuuya had beat the shit out of him. But not really. He had held back. He was trying to get a new start in this weird new city, after all. Plus, as he found out months later, Dazai's mom wasn't even around. He lived with his true asshole of a father who was never home anyway. Dazai said he was a doctor or something. Chuuya had never met him, despite living across his house for three years now. He decided that he didn't like the shitty doctor.
The point is, that bastard Dazai was his best friend. And Chuuya couldn't stand him on most days. There were, of course, several reasons for this.
Firstly, he was such an asshole! He constantly teased Chuuya about his height, calling him a chibi or a fairy. Then he made fun of Chuuya's hats, damn it!! And as if that wasn't enough, he had the nerve to call him his dog too! Dazai was truly an insufferable bastard.
Secondly, while Chuuya was the loner who didn't have any friends, Dazai was the most popular guy in the grade. Seriously, why?!! Chuuya would never understand. Sure, the trashcan faked being charming to other women, but were they seriously so blind that they couldn't see how much of a stinky mackerel he was?!
Plus, Dazai kept asking all the girls for a double suicide. Who does that?! And the girls seemed to be pleased at his offer? Chuuya genuinely wondered if they were all mentally okay. Besides, they all liked Dazai for his looks anyway.
Chuuya would never admit it out loud, but Dazai wasn't hard on the eyes. He was tall (curse that fish), had flowy brown hair, and his devious eyes were a soft shade of brown, He'd be really precious if he wasn't such a bastard, damn it!
And lastly, as much as it pained Chuuya to admit it to himself, he was in love with that shitty beanpole. Has been, for over two years now. But Chuuya prides himself on being self aware and he wasn't going to pretend to be in denial, okay!
Besides, Dazai didn't see him that way. As far as the bandaged fish was concerned, Chuuya was just his neighbour/best friend. Dazai was the popular kid everybody liked while Chuuya was the loner who never talked to anybody, and always stayed out by himself. It didn't bother him, really.
It was almost the end of his third and last high school year. Soon, they would be going to different colleges anyway. He didn't need to confess or anything just to be rejected and looked at with pity, alright?
However, Chuuya did had a dilemma. No, it wasn't the upcoming final exams. Chuuya had studied hard enough for those. No, his problem was regarding this stupid western event called 'Prom' that his school did for some reason. It was basically a dance, where you bring a date to the event and dance in formal clothes. There's drinks and stuff too. Chuuya really didn't get the hype.
But! All his (well Dazai's) friends were going damn it! They all had dates too! Chuuya didn't know if Dazai had one, but who was he kidding, of course the bastard had a date. Getting a suit would be his bigger concern. He was so popular, he had probably been asked by twenty girls. His dilemma was probably deciding who to go with.
Chuuya wasn't jealous, okay?! He didn't want to go tot he stupid Prom anyway, much less with that shitty Dazai. But since all the people he knew were going, he had to too, okay. He didn't want to miss out or anything, damn it. But! That's what his dilemma is. He doesn't have a fucking date. And he would rather die than admit this to Dazai.
Yesterday, all their friends had admitted to having dates. Chuuya had been with Dazai in their classroom, with their friends.
It was Tachihara who had brought up the topic of the upcoming dancing, "Hey, do you guys have a date yet?"
Of course, Yosano had been the first one to respond, "Obviously. I'm going with Ranpo."
Everybody had then turned to Ranpo, who had rolled his eyes, "Oh, get over yourself. We're just going as friends."
Yosano had nodded, "Exactly. I'm too busy for actual dates and stuff. What about you, Tachihara?"
Tachihara had lowered his voice, "Don't tell Akutagawa, but I'm going with Gin."
Dazai, that bastard, had smirked immediately, "Ohoh? Is that so?"
Everybody had then rolled their eyes at him. Then, Ranpo had revealed that Akutagawa would be going to Prom with an underclassman named Atsushi. Dazai, who seemed to know everyone, had vouched for Atsushi's good personality.
Of course, Yosano wasn't the one to spare him from revealing his date. She had asked, "Dazai, who are you going with?"
To that, Dazai had said dramatically, "Ah, but I don't know, Yosano-san! There are so many girls who are just dying to go with me. I haven't decided yet."
Yosano had simply rolled her eyes before turning to Chuuya, "Hey Chuuya, what about you?"
Chuuya, taken aback at being suddenly involved in the conversation, had answered hastily, "Um, I haven't decided."
Tachihara had suggested immediately, "Yo, you should go with Higuchi!"
Chuuya had shaken his head softly, "I meant, I haven't decided if I'm going to Prom."
Thankfully, the bell had gone off right then, sparing Chuuya from everyone trying to convince to go to Prom with them. It wasn't of any use anyway. Chuuya did want to go. But he didn't have a date, and he wasn't going to find one. So, he wasn't going. It was as simple as then.
He was very rudely pulled out from his train of thought by a slimy mackerel draping his arms around his shoulders, "Chuuya~ What are you thinking about? Don't think too hard! You'll shrink~"
The first thought that occurred to Chuuya was the big question that exactly how had this asshole found him? He was on the roof of his house, where he came rarely, in the first place. Then this bastard just shows up to disrupt his peace?!
The second thought that occurred to him was, of course, that Dazai had just called him short again. And also, holy fuck, he smelled so good. Chuuya cringed in his mind as soon as he thought so.
But he had his wits about to push off the bastard, "Asshole, get off me! And stop calling me short, damn it!"
Dazai grinned as he took a seat next to Chuuya, throwing his leg's off the latter (cue Chuuya's gay panic), "Now now, Chibi. You know if you curse so much you'll shrin, right?"
Chuuya snorted, "Do you not have any other jokes to make? This one is getting old."
Dazai waved his hands, "And so are you, but you're still not growing. How funny, isn't it?"
Chuuya gritted his teeth and ignored the bastard this time. He knew from experience that Dazai could go on teasing him about his height for hours on end.
Dazai nudged him once he noticed he was being ignored, "Okay, okay. I'll stop. What are you thinking about, anyway?"
Chuuya snapped at him, "None of your damn business, bastard!"
Dazai gasped pretentiously, "Of course it's my business, Chuuya! You are my dog after all. Aren't I such a good dog owner?"
Chuuya sighed impatiently, "Will you stop? I just want to get my homework done. Can you actually please leave?"
That was the first time Dazai noticed that his friend was actually in a bad mood. He dramatically threw his arms around the other, squeezing him in a hug, "Okay, okay. There, there. Do you feel better."
Not that Chuuya would admit it, but yes he did indeed feel better. Dazai gave nice hugs, despite being an actual beanpole. Or maybe Chuuya was just biased. Yeah, that was probably it.
He poked the other's sides, "Get off me, ugh. It's too hot for this."
Dazai refrained from making the very obvious joke, "Fine, if Chuuya wants to be such a spoilsport! Anyway. What were you thinking about?"
Chuuya's reply was immediate, "Nothing. I just spaced out."
The taller of them clicked his tongue, "Lies. You were thinking about Prom, weren't you? It is in three days, after all."
Chuuya tried his best to keep himself from blushing, "That's not it, okay!"
Dazai laughed, slinging an arm around Chuuya's neck, "Liar. What are you worried about? Do you not have anything to wear? I find that hard to believe; Chuuya has such tacky clothes in his wardrobe after all~"
Chuuya glared at him, "That's not it, okay!"
Dazai hummed, carding his fingers through Chuuya's semi-long hair (cue Chuuya's gay panic part two), "What is it then? Do you want to wear a dress to Prom? You can do that if you like."
Chuuya groaned, "That's not it at all, damn it! I have enough good suits for such a stupid occasion."
Dazai patted his head, "Of course you do. What's the problem then?"
Chuuya looked down, his face flushed. (From the heat, okay! It wasn't because Dazai was so close to him and being sort of considerate, okay! Definitely not!)
He then finally spoke up, "I don't have a date."
...
...
Dazai remained silent for a while. Then when he finally opened his mouth, he spewed some bullshit as usual, "Of course, you have a date."
Chuuya glared at him, "I'm not going with Higuchi!"
Dazai rolled his eyes, "Not her, idiot. You're going with me, aren't you?"
Chuuya choked on literal air, "What?! Heh? What are you talking about! Don't joke about such things, shitty Dazai!"
Dazai looked genuinely confused as he tilted his head, "But... I'm not joking. Are we not going together?"
Chuuya stared at him, "We are? You've never asked me or anything. And I definitely haven't. Besides! Aren't you going with one of the girls who asked you? Sasaki, maybe?"
Dazai waved his hands, "I turned them all down, of course! Plus, I didn't think I need to ask my dog to go to Prom with me formally."
Chuuya protested weakly, lightheaded with an overdose of disgusting feelings, "I'm not your dog, asshole."
Dazai patted his head again, "Whatever you say, partner. I just assumed that we'd be going together. We're always together anyway. How is it any different?"
Chuuya swallowed, trying his best to ignore the jab of hurt in his chest. Of course. Dazai mean that they were going to Prom together as friends. Chuuya had been foolish to think otherwise even for just a second. How stupid of him. Maybe he really was a stupid slug.
Dazai snapped him out of this thoughts once again, "Chibi?"
Chuuya blinked, "Huh? Oh. Right. Yeah, okay. We're going to prom together then."
Dazai stoop up, clapping his hands once, "Great! It's settled then. Although it was always settled. Chibi is just a silly slug."
Chuuya groaned, "I literally hate you so much."
Dazai winked, "Lies! You agreed to go to prom with me."
Chuuya hollered as the bastard finally left the rooftop and left him alone, "I retract my acceptance, damn it!"
Of course, his statement was completely ignored. Ugh. What a bastard he was friends with. Was in love with. Chuuya really questioned his life decisions sometimes. Ugh. Fuck this. High school is truly the worst.
Three days later, Chuuya was standing at his front door, waiting for a slimy mackerel to show up as his date. His date. Fucking hell, Chuuya was going to panic. Again.
But he was also kind of excited. Really fucking anxious, but excited. It was his only chance ever to go to a dance, after all. He might as well take advantage of it. Besides, his date was Dazai. The shitty beanpole might be an asshole, but Chuuya still liked him for some weird reason. Wasn't this every teenager's dream? Going to Prom with their crush?
Chuuya wondered if that still held true even though his crush was a shitty mackerel. It probably didn't, now that he gave the very important question some thought.
It didn't matter anyway. Chuuya was already dressed and ready to go. He had gone with wearing a sleek red suit, with a blue tie. Earlier today, Dazai had come over and pestered him until he had given in to the idea of coordinating their outfits to the Prom. It was disgusting. Chuuya most certainly did not want to do it, okay!!
But he had finally given in, and was now wearing a blue tie, since Dazai said he was going to wear a blue suit. It's not like he was looking forward to seeing that idiot in a suit or anything, okay. He wasn't.
He wasn't, but it was safe to say that he was rather flustered when the idiot mackerel finally showed up. He was ten minutes late, but at least he had shown up, right? Chuuya knew from experience that Dazai often 'forgot' to show up to places. Oops, he'd say.
Anyway, the beanpole was here and holy fucking shit, he looked so fucking good and Chuuya really wanted to die. Can he die please? Yes he's aware that the suicide talk was Dazai's thing but god fucking damn it, let him have this, okay? The bastard he was in love with looked so fucking good for a change.
He was wearing a deep blue suit, as he had promised. And!! He was wearing a red tie. Fuck??? The tie matched Chuuya's suit perfectly. He was also wearing a light blue shirt underneath, and it complemented his outfit so well. Plus, one side of his hair was tucked behind his ear and secured with a pin.
The bastard lazily smirked as soon as he noticed Chuuya staring, "Eyes up here, Chibi. I'm not an object, you know."
It was easy for Chuuya to snort, "Don't worry, fucker. My eyes can very well see how ugly you are."
Maybe it was just Chuuya's imagination, but it looked like Dazai faltered at the jab. At least for a second. He was back to his usual demeanour before Chuuya could even process the slight change, "Lying stunts growth, Chibi! Don't you know? Besides, there's no shame in admitting you're head over heels for me. Who isn't, you know?"
Chuuya rolled his eyes as he started pulling the other in the direction pf their school, "Yeah, yeah. Everybody, except me, loves you. They're on blind; I'm convinced."
Dazai whined as he walked along, "Chuuya, how cruel! How can you not love me!"
Chuuya hummed, as if answering a serious question, "Because you annoy me every single moment of every single day. It's very annoying."
Dazai pouted, "Well fine! Maybe I'll leave you all alone then!"
Chuuya's heart lurched, must to his great distaste. Other than being his crush, this asshole was his best friend. Chuuya might not like him very much, but he still needed him around.
His hand very subtly wrapped around the other's wrist, "Nah. You're incapable of not being an annoying menace twenty four-seven."
Dazai just rolled his eyes, "Whatever you say."
Chuuya shook his head, a small smiling playing on his lips, "Yeah. Anyway, what have you got there?" He nodded his head towards the single camellia Dazai was holding in his hand.
The younger of them blushed furiously at having been found out, "It's nothing!"
Chuuya asked again, grinning and his interest peaked, "Tell me!"
Dazai merely huffed as he shoved it into Chuuya's arms, "Whatever! I got a flower to put in your hair or your hat if you want."
Chuuya's heart actually skipped a beat. He could tell because he was very in-tune with his organs, okay?
The redhead cleared his throat as he reached up to pin the camellia onto his hat, "Um Thank you."
Dazai gave him a curt nod as he walked on a little head, "It's fine."
Neither of them said anything for the next ten minutes. They just walked in silence. It was safe to say that Chuuya's heart was not being very cooperative right now. It was beating too fast, and too irregularly damn it!
But he was ready to excuse that useless organ this once. Because!! Holy fucking shit, Dazai just gave him a flower! A flower! A red camellia! Chuuya didn't know the language of flowers or anything but fuck, it was a pretty flower. And yes, Chuuya was wear that Dazai just saw him as a friend and was doing all of this just to fluster him anyway, but he couldn't help but actually get flustered.
But he wouldn't show it, damn it. He would never give that asshole the satisfaction. Honestly, Chuuya was over Prom already. Sure he had a few expectations from this supposedly wonderful night ahead of him, but he had received a flower from his fucking crush and he was over everything, okay. He just wanted to go home and scream into his pillow.
But, of course, that wasn't going to happen. They had just reached the front gates of their school, after all. They still didn't say anything as they made their way to the gymnasium. By now, Chuuya was beginning to worry that Dazai regretted 'asking' him to Prom after all. Maybe he should have just gone with Sasaki. Fuck. Why did he ever agree to this, damn it?
He was an inch close to turning around and fleeing when Dazai's fingers found his and the bastard offered him a soft (what the fuck) smile, "Are you still okay? You don't actually have to go in if you don't want to, you know."
Chuuya huffed, trying his best to keep his emotions in check, "If you've changed your mind and want to go with someone else, after all, just say so. I don't mind."
Dazai, obviously, immediately wrapped his arms around the little short person next to him, "Aw, Chibi~ Don't worry. If I don't look after my dog, who will?"
Chuuya groaned as he decided to rip the band-aid off and walked into the gymnasium, Dazai still draped all over him, "Fuck off. I'm not your dog, damn it!"
Before Dazai could say anything, they were intercepted by Yosano and Ranpo as soon as they entered the room. Yosano was way too excited to see Chuuya. Seriously, was that normal?
She tapped on the top of Chuuya's hat, "Nakahara! Hey! I'm so glad you're finally here!"
She then promptly turned to Dazai, "Oh my god, you're here with Dazai. Dazai! I'm so happy for you! I see you finally grew a pair and asked him out-"
Ranpo steered her away from the newcomer duo a little too late. He grinned the the two of them, "Don't mind her. She drank on our way here and is already drunk."
Dazai sighed, "It's fine."
Ranpo winked before walking away with his date, "But she's not wrong. Glad to see you finally confessed!"
Dazai let out a scream before turning around and trying to flee. Chuuya was surprised at the very least; he had definitely expected him to be the first one to try and flee. He had never imagined it would actually be Dazai. It was quite hilarious to see Dazai so flustered.
Chuuya grinned as he caught the other by the arm to prevent him from running away, "This is so funny. What did they mean? You're gonna confess to Sasaki soon or something?"
As much as it hurt Chuuya to even say that out loud, it was the only reasoning he could come up. Dazai didn't seem to be as close to any other girl. So he if was going to someone, of course it would be Sasaki. Ugh. Crushes are stupid. Everything is shitty, and Chuuya just really fucking wants to go home.
Dazai muttered, looking like he was the one who wanted to go home, "No, of course not. That's stupid. You're stupid too."
Chuuya scoffed, pretending to act like Dazai, "How rude! You're stupid. Anyway, we're at Prom. Now what?"
Dazai cleared his throat, "I believe we're supposed to dance."
Chuuya snorted, "Alright. You fucker don't know how to dance, but we'll give it a shoes. I swear to fucking god if you step on my shoes; I'll actually kill you."
Dazai made absolutely no promises. But Chuuya danced with him anyway. After two pop songs of dancing with each other, they went and found their group and all of them spent time together for a while before all the pairs separated out for the slow dances.
Chuuya was really fucking grateful for dim lights in the gym. Why? Because he was slow dancing with a shitty bastard who happened to be his crush, and his face felt really fucking hot right now. His heart was most definitely not okay, and Chuuya already felt light headed. He was very sure he would faint soon at this rate.
Sometime after the fourth slow song, Dazai was approached by Gin, who happened to be on Prom Preparation committee. She brought her lips close to the taller guy's ear and whispered something to him. It was serious enough to make Dazai widen his eyes in horror.
The bandaged guy tugged Chuuya's wrist immediately, "Chuuya, we have to get out of here! Thank you, Gin-chan! I owe you one."
Gin just rolled her eyes at him as he dragged Chuuya out of the gym.
A minute later, Chuuya found himself on a bench under the cherry blossom trees in the school garden. He glared at his so called best friend, "Shitty Dazai, what the actual fuck?"
Dazai panted from all the exertion (insert Chuuya eyerolling), "That was necessary, hold on."
He stopped talking, trying to catch his breath. Of course, Chuuya snorted teasingly, "Weak. We didn't even walk that fast or that far."
Dazai glared at him, "Not everyone is a martial artist like you."
Chuuya rolled his eyes as he sat down on the bench, Dazai immediately resting his head against his shoulder, "Shut up, asshole. What was that about anyway?"
Dazai, who was calmer now, breathed, "Oh right. Gin-chan was just kind enough to let me know that the Prom King was going to be announced in two minutes. She's on the committee so she knows it's me. Of course, I had to run."
Chuuya snorted, "Of course you are. Who's the Prom Queen then, now that we're gonna miss the crowning because of you?"
Dazai wrinkled his nose in distaste, "It's Sasaki. And you better thank me! If we hadn't left when we did, I'd be forced to wear a crown and dance with her. Absolutely fucking not."
A ball of tension miraculously appeared in Chuuya's stomach. He was not sad, okay? He has always known Dazai liked Sasaki. Him having feelings for his best friend wasn't going to change anything. And he wasn't going to say anything either. It was a secret he planned on taking to his grave.
He swallowed, "What's the problem then? You like her, don't you?"
Dazai gave him a wistful smile, "Chibikko, you are truly such a stupid slug."
Chuuya spluttered, "What?! Oi!"
Dazai sighed, "You are too oblivious to your surroundings, Chuuya."
The redhead glared at him, "If you're not going to elaborate, why don't you just shut the fuck up?"
Dazai raised his hands in mock surrender, "Okay, okay. I'm not saying anything."
Chuuya clicked his tongue but didn't say anything. And since Dazai was an annoying piece of shit, he didn't either. So, the two of them just ended up sitting together in comfortable silence. A while later, Chuuya cleared his throat out loud to remove the weird thoughts he was having about the guy right next to him.
Of course, Dazai picked up on it. He turned to face the redhead, "What's up?"
Chuuya shrugged, "Nothing. Oi Dazai. Not that I care or anything, but you should confess to Sasaki, really. Yosano and Ranpo clearly agree too. Maybe if you go back to the gym, you can still dance with her."
Dazai threw his hands up in frustration, "Seriously, Chuuya?! This again? Oh my fucking god, you are actually stupid!"
Chuuya frowned, "I don't understand."
The taller of them sighed, tugging Chuuya to face him, "That is exactly the problem, Slug."
The hatted boy frowned yet again, "What is?"
Dazai took a deep breath to calm himself down, "Look. I'll speak very slowly, so even a chibi like you can understand. I do not like Sasaki. Sasaki is not liked by me. Is that clearer?"
Of course, Chuuya punched him in the stomach, "Stop calling me a chibi, damn it! And well okay, if you say so. It's kinda obvious you like her though."
This time, Dazai snorted, "Oh. You don't say. You have no right to talk about 'obvious', Chuuya."
The other looked genuinely taken aback, "What do you mean? Speak more clearly, damn it! I don't understand!"
Dazai reached up one of his hands to grip the base of Chuuya's neck (cue Chuuya's gay panic part three), "Stupid Slug, I'll say this once. I like you, you tiny fucker. That's why I asked you to Prom."
Chuuya was quick to retort, "You didn't even ask me to Prom, damn it!"
...
But then the first half of Dazai's sentences sunk in. "I like you", he'd said.
Chuuya stared at him openly, "Wait. Repeat that again."
Dazai grinned mischievously, "That's why I asked you to Prom?"
Chuuya groaned, "Not that! Before that!"
This time, Dazai had a soft smile on his face, "I like you, Slug."
Of course, the redhead shot up to his feet and started pacing immediately. What the fuck was Dazai talking about? If this was a joke, Chuuya swore to all the gods he didn't believe in, that he would never speak to that asshole again.
Chuuya breathed before growling at his friend, "You mean like a friend, right? But that's not true. You said you hate me."
Dazai actually smacked his forehead this time, before stopping Chuuya by tugging his wrist, "Oh my god. Do you see what I mean now? You are so fucking oblivious. No, Chuuya, I do not mean as a friend. I mean I like you romantically. As in I want to be your boyfriend and call you 'hat rack' and have you throw things at me and then I get to kiss you because I bet you're adorable when you've just been kissed."
Chuuya spluttered, clearly struggling to breathe, "Give a guy a warning before you say shit like that, damn it, shitty Dazai!"
Dazai just laughed, "Oops."
Chuuya spoke crossly, "Fuck you and your oops."
Dazai grinned at him, "Do it yourself, coward."
Chuuya stopped to stare at him. And he stared at him hard. Finally he settled on glaring at him some more, "Oh, you're on, fucker. Watch me render you speechless for once in your life."
This time, it was Dazai's turn to choke on air, "Holy shit, Chuuya, you can't just say things like that!"
Chuuya protested, "You literally said you want to be my boyfriend and kiss me! Wait. You want to be my boyfriend?!!!"
Dazai rolled his eyes, "Oh get over yourself. I'm already your boyfriend. I'm in love with you and you're in love with me too. It's a done deal already."
Chuuya screeched, "I never said that, oi!! Don't just go assuming things again!"
Dazai stilled completely. He spoke again after a few seconds, his voice completely hollow, "You didn't. Oh. Right. It never occurred to me that you might not like me back. Shit. What do I do know?"
Look, Chuuya tried really hard to contain his laughter. He did okay. And he succeeded too, albeit for just five seconds. After that, he burst out laughing, attracting indignant looks from his partner.
Chuuya walked over and tipped Dazai's head upwards before dropping a kiss on his nose, "Nah, I love you, fucker. Boyfriend."
Dazai blushed so hard, Chuuya couldn't help but bend down to kiss him properly. He paused a few centimetres away from the other's lips, asking for permission silently. Dazai slightly raised his face to touch his lips to Chuuya's.
He immediately pulled back and stared at Chuuya's face, his expression giving away his strong desire to squeal like a pre-teen schoolgirl.
Chuuya laughed again before carding his fingers through the other's hair, "You are so fucking cute."
Dazai whined, pressing his face to Chuuya's stomach, "Stop bullying me."
Chuuya grinned some more, "Never."
The other reached up his arms and encircled them around Chuuya's torso, "Chuuya is so mean."
Chuuya whispered, his facial muscles sore from smiling too hard, "But you like me."
Dazai sighed, as if he was truly questioning his life choices, "But I love you."
