Chapter Text
Han Seo had to say that he quite liked the Plaza, despite it's...vast problems. He just...wasn't exactly the most talkative. Many of the other residents barely managed to catch a glimpse of him if they were lucky, and outside of a nervous bow whenever one of them called out to them, he never spoke to any of them. In fact, he was rarely seen outside of his room at all, and they were lucky if they managed to see him leave the room more than once or twice a month. It was Mr. Nam who noticed that the mystery tenant was an Omega, and that was out of sheer luck as he had been up working incredibly late and had managed to catch them out.
Later, when Mr. Nam would retell the tale, he would say that the omega had some of the most beautiful, yet broken eyes he had ever seen. He had been shaking, and trembling, and scared of him. HIM! A Beta. A nothing. He meant nothing to society, but he also did not really care, content to stay single and help out the law firm. When Mr. Nam had run into him, he had quite literally, run into him. According to Mr. Nam, the Omega had almost fallen, but managed to right himself quite quickly, stuttering out apologies.
It was after that night that many of the others began to stay up a bit later, hoping to catch more glimpses of him. It did not work too well, only a few others actually saw him, including Mr. Hong, who had taken one look at the bundled up Omegan young man, and felt a deep sense of protectiveness radiating from him as he had hesitantly handed Mr. Hong his things where he had dropped them prior.
After that, they concluded, though they may not know much about the young Omega on the third floor, they did not need to. They would protect him from everyone. Which was partially why everyone was so insensed that Mr. Cho would place an unknown Alpha on the same floor as their baby Omega. They could not believe it when the foreign Alpha had come walking into the plaza, slowly being introduced to all of the other tenants by Mr. Cho. In the end, despite their efforts to scare the man off, they had not managed it, and he walked to his suite on the third floor. They had taken extra care to ensure that their mystery Omega knew about it, sliding a note under his door just in case.
The Alpha was strong, and exuded a sense of charisma that was hard to find. That was not their problem at the moment, however, as they all gathered in the dance studio. It was that they just so happened to have a tenant meeting, and it was one of the only times that they ever really saw their young Omega, despite the fact that he never spoke a word during the meetings, and also was the first to leave. He had even been told by one the Pianist girl on the second floor that he did not have to come, none of them would blame him, but he had anyways, hesitantly standing at the door, nails nervously scraping at the door frame. They were long, they noted. He was still too thin, as well. Toto had been cooking for him, but had he been eating anything? They did not know, and it was somewhat scary to them to think that the Omega could be starving himself.
"Oh, you must be the other person living on floor three." Vincenzo said softly. "I am Vincenzo Cassano, a new tenant." Vincenzo put his hand out to shake, but the Omega almost scrambled from how fast he tried to move away. Vincenzo's eyes widened in shock, and he glanced over his shoulder, worried over the reaction. "I-I am sorry." he said, stuttering slightly. The tenants couldn't help but narrow their eyes at the so called eloquent Alpha loosing his composure. "I didn't mean to scare you." the Omega just eyes him up and down, carefully, glancing over the rest of the tenants, who were waiting with baited breath to see what would happen, fully prepared to jump in if needed.
"H-Han S-Seo." The Omega whispered.
It was the first time any of them had heard the Omega barring Mr. Nam when he had heard his stuttered out apologies that fated night. His voice was smooth, gentle, incredibly timid and soft. To put it plainly, it was beautiful. They waited, the atmosphere growing tenser as the noticed Vincenzo had smiled at the Omega gently, having apparently realized that Han Seo, as he claimed, needed a sort of gentle touch.
"It is good to meet you, I am actually quite new to Korea. I am sorry if my approach scared you, I am still learning how things are done." Vincenzo admitted with a slight laugh.
"I-It is o-okay, A-Alpha, S-Sir," Han Seo said, still stuttering slightly. Vincenzo looked almost alarmed at the address.
"You don't have to..." Vincenzo stopped abruptly, sighing. "I still scared you, that is my fault, I apologize." He said with a bow. Han Seo's breath sharply inhaled, as did the rest of the tenants.
They had not expected this at all, furthermore with the gentle coaxing of the young Alpha, he had managed to get the Omega not only to partake in the meeting, but to sit at the very front as well. The tenants watched with large eyes, all of them individually taking note (considering it was obvious that this man knew how to take care of Omegas, and most of them were betas, so they did not know much when it came to instinct and such) on how Vincenzo used a very soft, low, tone of voice, and careful, very slow gestures, always keeping a bit of distance between them as he did so, never raising his voice too high, or too loudly. Most of them assumed this was some sort of Alpha thing, meanwhile Mr. Hong couldn't help but feel suspicious. Vincenzo seemed to be taking quite the interest in their young resident Omega, and he could not help but get a bit protective.
"As you are no doubt aware, there are attempts to get us to vacate the building, but do not worry. I will make sure that it doesn't happen. What I need now, is your trust, and reassurance." Mr. Hong said simply. Vincenzo glanced towards the Omega as he too pledged to do what he could to make sure that the building would not fall into the wrong hands, and how he would make sure that, should relocation be necessary, that they are well situated.
"Han Seo!" A younger boy, probably a teenager, Han Seo was not sure, bounded up towards him as the meeting ended, causing him to stiffen as the other took hold of him staring up at him with big eyes. "W-Will you join us for dinner? We always have dinner after the meetings!" He said rocking on the balls of his feet. Han Seo glanced around helplessly. Mr. Hong noticed how Vincenzo was about to interfere, but Han Seo just sighed, nodding slowly.
"Okay," He whispered gently, giving the boy a gentle smile and coursing his fingers through the teen's hair. :J-Just once though," He said simply, not wanting them to get their hopes up. He was recitant because he had to be, just in case. Yet, it had been several years...perhaps he was able to allow himself just a little bit of luxury. Just...Just a little.
