Work Text:
Kaeya stared out the office window, his mined had wandered far from the paper work before him to memories of the past. A time when he was happy, not truly as he had felt the guilt of being a spy, of lying to those who cared for him, lying to that who he cared for the most.
A sigh slipped past his lips, his thoughts continued to wander, nights spent gazing at the stars lying between the grape vines, running through the vineyards, training side by side. Emotions warm and soft buried beneath the facade of a confident solider then a cocky calvary captain who can drink Monostand’s famous drunkards under the table via careful planning.
Soft hair and sweet words, gentle laughter and the warmth of a hand in his, lips lightly brushing against his, heat and flesh moving together, the sting of flames and the chill of ice…
‘’Sir Kaeya, SIR KAEYA’’
Kaeya turned towards the yelling outrider, her bow bounced on her head as she glared at him, “what are you doing? You said you’d assist with the clearing of the hilichrul camp opposite the docks, I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes. I promised Lisa I’d help her out this afternoon’’
“Apologise my dear outrider, I seem to have become lost in thought”, he rose from his seat, “you head over to Lisa and send my apologies, I’ll be sure to deal with the camp.’’
He watched the outrider disappear off towards the library.
‘Lets see, ah the traveller, they’d be willing to join me on an outing’.
