Okay so Varian and Hugo run away together, they meet Don, she manipulates Varian like how she did with Hugo, and now Varian and Hugo work on Don's projects together but also work on trying to solve the amber formula.
Meanwhile, in Corona, Varian and Hugo are now wanted suspects and Rapunzel is devasted to learn that Hugo betrayed her trust and that Varian left as well. She still frees Quirin from the amber cause she still feels really guilty about it, Quirin is sad that Varian ran away cause he'll never be able to tell Varian the stuff in his letter.
For Varian and the 7 kingdoms, it's a mission Don gives to the 2 of them as like a long trip thing (she knows they're gay they're really bad at hiding it) and they find Yong and Nuru and have them join, everything is the same except that Hugo and Varian are a lot more similar to each other now and they both have the same goals of unlocking the secret library (I think that's what it's based on?)
Eventually, they'd tell Nuru and Yong that Varian was in prison and they broke out together, probably around when they have to go to Corona, so it's mainly up to Nuru and Yong to be like on the outside finding stuff cause Varian and Hugo have to be secretive (maybe like Quirin or Rapunzel finds them sneaking around and uh oh confrontation but Idk lmao)
