Chapter Text
They sat on the roof of the mansion, shoulders touching, heads tipped back to the moon. Stars sparkled like diamonds through the dark blue shadows of clouds. The shingles were warm, baked in the heat of the summer sun all day.
"It's different, looking up at the stars after you've been to them," Wanda said, arms crossed over her knees. "Knowing what's out there."
"Ja," Kurt agreed, "I don't know if it would be more frightening to not know what's out there, but somehow...knowing doesn't make it any less beautiful."
"That's true." Wanda turned her attention away from the sky, to Kurt's shadowy silhouette. He noticed the movement and looked over at her, yellow eyes bright, one hand slipping over hers where it rested on the slanted roof.
"It's the same with people, I think," he said even as he leaned in to kiss her, their lips brushing before he added, barely above a whisper, "no less beautiful once you know their secrets."
"More beautiful, even..." Wanda gripped the front of his shirt to stabilize herself as they kissed, his tail curling around her just in case. She wasn't afraid of falling - but they'd had a few close calls, it was always so tempting to get away and find some privacy by going up. It also made for a great view.
