Chapter Text
Dusk is a shitty movie.
Yet, Jungwon finds himself sucked into the TV, a bowl of popcorn on his lap and his discarded geometry homework beside him.
Something about the cheesy script and terrible acting made it enjoyable to watch. Partly due to the fact it was so fake, it was why Jungwon liked it. He was so used to reality and how boring it would get sometimes. With movies like this, he would let his imagination run wild. He loved it because Dusk was something so different from the real world. Well obviously. Like vampires could ever be real.
Bang!
Bang!
Jungwon jolts at the sudden noise, some popcorn falls out of the bowl due to his surprised reaction. Confused, he looks at the back door, where the sound seems to be coming from, as it was odd for something to be making such a loud noise in this neighborhood at 11:30 at night.
"Hey, do you guys know what that noise was?" He asks, walking over to the kitchen to find his brother.
"No no dude, it was 46."
"No way you stuffed 46 gummy bears in your mouth. I’m pretty sure it was 26!"
"Jake, are you doubting my skills?" Sunghoon exaggerates a gasp.
"Yes, in fact I am." Jake replies, throwing a gummy bear at his friend.
Jungwon rolls his eyes at the two. Whatever that noise was, he doubts these two idiots know what it was anyways. He decides to forget about it and walks back to the living room, turning the TV on again. He would now be getting to the good part of Dusk 2, where Rochelle finally asks Jakeward to bite her, confirming their relationship with something as romantic as immortality and a life of consuming human blood.
"I love you." Rochelle says, her voice dripping with desperation.
"I'm not human." Jakeward replies, trying to convince her this is a bad idea.
"I don't care." She ignores his efforts.
Jungwon stuffs a handful of popcorn in his mouth and leans forward, eyes glued to the screen.
"Bite me, I'm begging you." She says looking directly into her lover's eyes.
Jakeward looks at her warily and then begins to lean in. His long, shiny fangs sticking out and-
Bang!
"Ugh!" Jungwon drops the popcorn bowl and stands up, annoyed, and makes his way to the kitchen again.
"Hey! Did you hear that?" He asks his brother, throwing his arms in the air. He’s baffled at Sunghoon’s obliviousness towards the clearly bothersome sounds.
"What?" Sunghoon turns around, his voice unclear due to the absurd amount of gummy bears in his mouth.
Jungwon looks at Jake in hopes that he wasn't as much of a dumbass as his brother. But of course he was mistaken when he saw Jake’s mouth open in awe at Sunghoon, grabbing gummy bears to stuff into his own mouth.
"I cannot believe Mom left you in charge." Jungwon sighs, shaking his head. He stomps off to go outside and check what keeps making loud noises, muttering insults towards his brother as he does.
“He’s 16 yet he acts younger than me.” He grumbles, shoving the front door open and walks to the back of the house. His body shivers due to the fact it was late at night and because the bunny slippers and thin pajamas he was wearing didn’t seem to do a great job of keeping him warm.
As he gets closer towards the back shed the atmosphere begins to feel eerie. He raises his eyebrows, noticing a couple things laying on the floor that didn’t look like his or his brother’s belongings. He sees a hockey stick, empty Gatorade bottles and drops of blood?
Jungwon’s eyes grow wide. He makes a sheepish noise and takes a couple steps backward. As he does he feels something cold and wet fall onto his head.
You see, although he was a sucker for supernatural films, he hated scary things. He could be able to deal with having to watch gory scenes on the television but no way in hell could he do that in real life. With movies he knew it was all fake, but in real life he couldn’t depend on that. So you can understand why he was nearly about to pass out as he slowly tilts his head back to look up. He immediately regrets doing so when he sees a shoe, dripping with fresh blood, hanging off the branch on the tree directly on top of his head.
Jungwon screams.
