The three students that walked the dark corridor were excited. Yesterday, the Sorting Hat had sorted them all into Hufflepuff and they were on the way to the Owlery to tell their parents the news. They turned around a corner and a boy, maybe in his sixth year, with long and curly dark hair, not in his robes but a black leather jacket walked past them. Did they see a hint of eyeliner too? All three looked at each other and quickly walked a few meters until they were sure it was safe to talk without him overhearing them.
"Who was that?“, one of them asked with wide eyes. "No clue, looked a bit scary to me, probably a Slytherin.“, said one of the boys. "Surely. And why doesn’t he wear his robes, I thought that were the rules.“, the other boy complained. "Maybe it’s because he’s older. Could be wanting to be intimidating with his leather jacket and the look on his face. Seemed like he was angry or that’s just how he normally looks, but if that’s it I hope I don’t see him that often.", the girl responded. "Let’s just go to the Owlery or we miss curfew, and it’s just our first day!”, one boy chimed in. They then dropped the theme and hurried to sent the letters to their waiting families.
The next day, after they all had eaten their massive and delicious breakfast, they wanted to walk back to their dorms. First through a few corridors full of magical paintings and then they had to navigate their way through the mess of moving staircases that didn’t seem to make any sense. Just after 30 minutes, hoping it wouldn’t always take that long, they had located the way that led to their dormitories and just had to walk a bit further. That’s when they saw the intimidating boy from yesterday which seemed to laugh as another boy with brown hair and a few scars on his face told him something.
Their faces lit up and the black haired boy, who also now wore the leather jacket from the other day tried to kiss the brown haired boy while standing on his tip toes, the other making himself even taller and laughing at the other for not reaching him. “Sirius I’m sorry but I don’t think this will work out your just too short.”, teased the tall one and Sirius pouted, he actually pouted and the first years didn’t find him scary after all. He was actually the opposite and couldn’t be a Slytherin, in that moment they could have even thought he was a Hufflepuff. Apparently they stood there a little too long because Sirius glanced behind him and saw them just staring at them while standing still with their eyes focused on them.
"Run.”, one of them said and they bolted through the corridor, because even though he wasn’t that scary anymore, they were still two sixth years and no matter who they were, you didn’t wanna be on their bad side. Well that’s what they had been told anyway, and they didn’t wanna test their luck. What spells they could have learned in these six years…
Remus and Sirius just looked after them, a bit perplexed but mostly just amused because of their fast escape. In the short moment that Remus was distracted and still looked, at the now empty corridor, Sirius once again stood on his toes and this time succeeded in pressing his lips onto Remus’s. Directing his attention back to Sirius, Remus kissed Sirius back and soon the first years were forgotten and the only people existing were them.
